I used to have a lot of trust in this dealership until my last visit. I was told I needed front brakes and pads at a whopping $700! I passed and took it to a local mechanic who was going to charge me significantly less. Well, as it turned out my brakes were fine and did not need to be replaced. This dealership lied and cannot be trusted. I will never bring either of my Honda vehicles here ever again, you lost a long term customer. Other's beware.

So I went here today to test drive a Civic- potentially serious buyer for a specific car. My first question is always can I drive the car on my own, because I prefer to drive to drive it on my own, and was told most likely would just need to check with management. Then after about 20 minutes, 10-15 of which were spent looking for a temporary plate (that no one else in the dealership would provide assistance- when he asked a colleague he was rudely interrupted and cut off and essentially ignored) I was told they would have to accompany me. I asked the sales rep to check with his manager and he did and came back to say I could not because of insurance issues- strangely enough I have test driven many other cars, including much higher end luxury cars and this has never been an issue. Very annoying and a waste of my time. The sales rep proceeded to ask me about financing and a trade in but I am just not willing to spend 30k on a used car and not even be able to drive it. Just to add I am a middle aged professional female. I am curious to know if they would have had the same policy regarding driving the vehicle if I had come in from work in my professional suit. Additionally I was told the car had a clean carfax and on my own inspection could see that the vehicle had bad damage on the left side that the sales rep did NOT know about. I’m fine if this is your policy but just make it clear at the start so people don’t waste their time. I would never spend this amount of money without being able to really get a feel for the car myself. Needless to say I will take my business elsewhere.

Terrible Service. Appointment made a week ago. Dropped my Civic at 9: 15 for an A/C issue and was adivised that they were short staffed and would try to have it ready for 4: 00pm. Called at 3: 45pm for an update was advised that my vehicle hadnt even been looked at yet. Car sat there all day for nothing without even a courtesy call. Service advisor attempted to get me into a rental car in Oshawa but it was too late for that. I wont be back.
Id leave zero stars if I could.

As one who has worked at several car dealerships over the years, I'd taken my vehicles here for service and was not disappointed.

Also took the opportunity to have a chat with several members of the sales team and they were pleasant, helpful and answered all of my questions regarding my current vehicles as well as the ones that I was looking into potentially obtaining.

I can safely say that they'll be at the top of my list should I wish to obtain a new vehicle in the future.

I put a deposit down in June for a '22 Civic with Jeff. He was very upfront that it was going to be a while, at least until August given Honda's supply issues and kept me in the loop along the way as production was delayed into October. I just picked up my car and the experience was quick and hassle-free, Jeff was a pleasure to deal with, I hope to buy my next car from him as well.

One of the slowest Honda service Centers I have experienced. I came here at 2: 40 pm just for—the oil change. I was registered at the front desk in 10min, and the car was taken to the service dept. It's 4: 30, and still waiting for my car.

Highly disappointed.
Never coming back here again!

Update:

After getting my oil changed on Thursday…. On Saturday the engine SKID PLATE came off! See the image this is what you get after getting the oil change from here.

I bought my 2017 Honda Civic from this dealership in 2019. Recently, I won a promotion to receive a free tire change which was awesome! I love when businesses run initiatives like that as it’s great for customer retention and loyalty.

Then, a couple months later I noticed I was having issues with my AC. I called around for some quotes as Clarington is quite far from me. I had no luck getting a straightforward quote and I figured I would just call my dealership to be sure. When I called, I was immediately impressed with Rona in the service department as she was kind and helpful. She answered all my questions clearly and even noted that the repair could be under warranty. I was so pleased as no one else had even bothered mentioning this to me. Turns out, my car was under warranty and if I had of gone anywhere else I would have been SOL. I am very happy with my experience here so far and I will definitely continue to return for service here.

Bought a brand new car 2 years ago (with pushy sales people and manager), looking back they slipped on a $400 "security package" fee on the bill. This wasn't mentioned at all, and after Googling it, it seems to be completely optional, and gives you a few thousand off a new car if yours happens to get stolen.

Well the reason I was looking back is because my car did get stolen the other month (apparently new Hondas are highly stolen). I emailed the sales manager Chris about this security package that I had paid for, and after 2 weeks they still haven't bothered to respond.

We went to buy a car from this dealership in hopes that we will get a nice customer service. When we arrived, after seeing the car, we wanted to discuss the price which was above the market value and when the salesman went to the manager to ask if it’s negotiable, the manager only said no. I said I need to talk to him directly to see what was the reason however, he did not even bother to come directly for a quick conversation. I again requested for a quick chat with him but after several minutes of waiting, nobody came back to us. I will not come back for purchasing a car from this place.

We walked into Clarington Honda to inquire about a vehicle advertised on there website. My wife and I were immediately attended to by a well versed professional by the name of Mohammed Usufi. Mo took the time to answer all our questions, take us on a test drive and go through the entire vehicle with us. His level of professionalism and knowledge of the product he sells is next to none. He was able to negotiate a fair trade for our previous vehicle and get us a good price on our new vehicle. I would recommend Mo if a vehicle purchase is in your near future. Truly knows what he's doing. I was most impressed about the follow up phone call to ask us how our new vehicle is and if we have any further questions. You don't see that from most dealers. Go see Mo you won't be disappointed.

Back in August I went a little further from home for a Honda dealership as I was not happy with the one in my location. I am very Happy that I did. Carrie Bene started with a very fair trade in value for my Civic and I ended up with a new CRV. I appreciate the way she does sales and highly recommend. The worst experience i had ever experienced. We went there to test drive a used Honda accord. The sales guy named Muhammed was very rude and he even don’t gave us time for checking the car exterior and didn’t gave us the car key for checking the car. And in a sudden he told us that the car is been sold and you can go now. Please don’t visit this showroom if you want a car and good customer service.

Very poor service especially from a salesperson named Mohammed. I had a very bad experience today when I went to buy a used accord. When I met this guy, he changed the quoted which was discussed over the phone and did not cooperate well. His attitude was like just get the car if you want, or else leave. Before thinking about the purchase of car, suddenly this guy told the car is sold. Please do not visit this place if you really need good customer service and hospitality.

I had the worst experience ever here. We went there to test drive a second hand Honda Accord. The sales guy was in such a hurry that he didn't even let us check the vehicle properly. While checking the exteriors of the car, the guy went inside the showroom and came out shortly saying that the car has already been sold. It was a very bad experience in overall.

Very pushy sales people and manager, to basically actually saying the stereotypical "what can I do to get you in this car today" to saying "I'll give you this much on your trade in if you sign it right now" When I asked what it would be if I came back the next day he said the lower amount.
Not interested in being pressured into buying a car on a random afternoon. I thought it was well known that no one cares for these type of sales tactics and they were a thing of the past.

Recently bought a car from Clarington Honda. Experience from beginning to end was just about perfect! Carrie treated us so well, was not pushy and did not use sleazy sales tactics. She was so good I signed on the spot. A few hiccups with documents and pick up but all handled professionally. General manager was kind and came to chat with us. Only thing that bothered me was Carries continuous reference to the fact she sold “half the cars in this place”. I understand selling is the job but be humble about it. We will be back for sure!

My "free" oil change to compensate me for a prior issue with their service department cost me over $900. Oil drain plug was over torqued stripping the threads on the oil pan. My prior issue was the dealer taking 3 months to deal with a simple warranty issue. Likely would have been longer had I not got Honda Canada involved. Do yourself a favor and do not service anything here.

It started with an email through the website to evaluate the trade in I had. About 45 min later a polite salesman named Nigel called me. He wasn’t pushy. He was very easy to talk to and natural. He simply asked info about trade in. Asked what vehicle I’m interested in and that was it. No BS, no gimmicks. I went in so they could see my trade in and they were happy with it. The general manager and sales Rep were awesome to deal with and Super chill guys! They were very strict with COVID protocols as the place is absolutely spotless and immaculate. Will definitely return for service and I would definitely recommend for sales. If the service is as good as the sales experience I think I’m gonna like this whole Honda thing. From a Ram truck to an Accord touring lol. A special Thank you to Hannah, Nigel and Mike for a great car buying experience…. Your team legit restored my faith in dealerships and you guys have helped me more than you know.

Buying a used car can be a very difficult and stressful event, the staff at Clarington Honda could not have made the experience any better. Andre is an attentive and dedicated sales rep who from the moment I first spoke with over the phone he proved to be exceptional at everything he does. Kamini the manager made the negotiations as simple as could be eliminating the dreaded stress factor. Mike the General Manager introduced himself to us once the deal was done in a very warm and cordial manner which was a very nice and unexpected touch.

Upon picking up the vehicle everything was in order and we were done amazingly in just minutes. Adrian in finance was very professional and had all paperwork in order and Jeff in service was even there making sure we were all good to go. To sum things up, I would not hesitate to purchase a used vehicle from Clarington Honda, I would actually encourage you to do so. The staff could not have performed better, and the smaller family friendly environment ties it all together. Great job team Clarington Honda.

Poor job by sales team with inquiry to used vehicle. Good initial reply with promise to send more information (which got them the 2 stars). No follow up e-mail with more information on the vehicle being asked about (which is why they only get 2 stars). I expect this from a used car dealership but as a Honda dealership, I expect a lot more.disappointed with Clarington Honda.

I am extremely disappointed by Honda Canada and Clarington Honda.

I would have been a Honda driver for life, however I will never purchase a Honda again. Quality, Value and Customer Service are no longer principles that this company upholds.

On March 3 2021 I was in the process of moving and had my 2015 Fit filled with boxes. Suddenly, in the middle of heavy traffic on the 401 it stopped accelerating. There were absolutely no indications that anything was wrong with the vehicle prior to this moment. I had taken pristine care of my car since driving it new off the lot in 2015.

After being towed to the closest dealership - Clarington Honda - I had no choice but to have the transmission replaced and transfer my belongings to a rental car at my own expense.

The vehicle was at 108 000 km when the transmission failed at full speed on the highway. This incident could have caused severe injury or fatality for myself and others. The diagnostic report indicated that there were fragments of metal found in the transmission fluid and that it was my fault for not having the transmission fluid flushed. The maintenance minder system is supposed to alert the driver/mechanic that this is a #3 service, however neither myself nor my mechanic have ever seen this notification. Furthermore, the 2015 Fit in the US was recalled, although Honda Canada denies that this is at all relatable to my situation:

"Honda is recalling 143,676 Civic and Fit models in the U. S.for transmission failures, according to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

On the 2014-2015 Civic and 2015 Fit, the continuously variable transmission (CVT) may have a weakened drive-pulley shaft (the part connected to the crankcase) that can break when exposed to high hydraulic pressure. This can result in power loss and even the front wheels locking up while driving. Honda first found the problem in July 2014 and since then has received 23 warranty claims for broken shafts. Starting this month, dealers will update the transmission software with a “stress reduction program” to reduce the pressure within the gearbox in certain situations. "

I submitted my case to Honda Canada mediation on the day of the incident, February 26th 2021. I did not receive any communication from Honda Canada mediation until March 17 2021.

In the meantime, I confirmed with Honda Canada prior to paying for the repair of the vehicle that doing so would not in any way diminish the likelihood of receiving reimbursement for the repair. I was in the rental vehicle at my own expense and did not want to prolong the use of that vehicle. When I did get a response from mediation they claimed that they did not have a reimbursement policy and since I had already paid for the repair the case would be considered closed.

Clarington Honda gave me an inaccurate date for the completion of the repair resulting in my having to reschedule multiple clients and lose considerable income.

Repeated calls and voicemails placed for my 'designated customer mediation specialist' at Honda Canada were never returned and my case was closed without any conversation.

Furthermore, the repair caused some unfamiliar responses in the vehicle. The key doesn't come out of the ignition easily and I have to go through a series of moves with the gear shift in order to remove it. I inquired with Clarington Honda and the service manager assured me that he would discuss it with the mechanic and return my call. That phone call has yet to occur.

Finally, less than a month later the car would not start. After the 'thorough' complementary diagnostic (I believe this usually costs $135) that was completed by Clarington Honda it already needed to return for service.

I look forward to getting rid of this car and getting into a reliable vehicle sold to me by a company who actually listens and cares.

Clarington Honda is a great place to buy a car. I worked with Nigel, Andre and Adrian. They're a great team who are authentic and knowledgeable and offer a very customer focused service. They were very flexible too, willing to communicate by email text or phone, and worked hard to get the car ready for me on time. And they made sure I left happy. I would absolutely recommend this business if you are in need of a car.

Just one small thing, a missed opportunity; have your customers car gassed up at the time of pickup. It's a simple 110% gesture that goes a long way.

Instead, I was given all the information I needed to make a decision that would suit my needs at this time. He was patient and took time to answer all my questions. Bought a new Honda ATV from Clarington Honda; Andre was fantastic to deal with, made the whole process fast and pain free. He went over every option at delivery and called after the weekend to see how I was liking the ATV. He even offered to drop off an item that I had left at the dealership to my home for me. We made the mistake trusting and buying our new car from this dealership! Initially we were suppose to go to Pickering Honda, based on the good experiences my coworkers expressed. However, we went there and found a few cars that caught our eyes before we decided just to buy new! Carrie was wonderful in showing us and explaining the features. She was truly a sweet heart and worked with us. Then we sat with Jay to go over the additional insurance packages, and to take care of the finances. We were advised by him we would get 3 free oil changes when we purchase two additional insurance packages. It wasn't till I called in to provide the bank's address, that we found paperwork was not done properly. The agent I spoke with fixed it, and advised that Jay was a new employee. No biggie mistakes happen.so we thought! We contacted Jay once more to upgrade the KM in one of the packages due to my daily commute. We kept our commitment and kept both packages and upgraded one, expecting he would keep his. This was done over the phone and at the end we were told the 3 free oil changes would be in my file. When I called to book a oil change, I found that it wasn't on my file! And when I spoke with Jay to remind him what he had told us, he stated he wasn't here the day we picked up the car; therefore he doesn't know what was arranged. The ONLY changes that were made was only our upgrade in one of the packages, that was done with him over the phone! We had trusted him to do what he said he was going to do. He stated he didn't recall this and I should have taken this up with the person that I signed the final paperwork with when we picked up the car. I wasn't going to repeat professional ethics to him, so I requested to speak to his supervisor because we were lead wrong. Jay had told me that no one was available to take my call at the time, and that I would receive a call back from a manager. It's been a week and a half later and I still haven't received a call back.
I will not return to this dealership to get my son's car or our CRV. I also don't and will not recommend this dealership to anyone in the future.

Contacted Nicole and Chris as I was advised. Still have not heard from Nicole as they told me who would contact me. This was last weekend

They are the worst service department I have ever had to deal with and I have worked with many over the years. Not once, not twice, but every time I go in. Insisting on selling you something that you do not need even after the mechanics have said everything was working great. I thought this type of con selling stopped in the 90s. Excellent dealer with exceptional customer service and knowledgeable staff. Adrian was the sales person and nothing but good things to say about him. Price on the motorcycle was fair and trade in was as negotiated. No surprises. Would definitely recommend

Amazing people, i bought my Goldwing from this place and i noticed nothing except happy faces, no sale pressure at all. Definitely the right place to be treated the way a customer deserves.

I’m very annoyed with Honda! I purchased my Honda Odyssey in 2019 new and since the day we drove off the lot the Bluetooth has never worked. I have call numerous times to be told it’s a update Honda Canada has not released yet. I called Honda Canada who told me the dealership can call for the fix. I called 2 weeks in advance and explained I was going on a long trip and needed this fixed. Yesterday my van was there from 9am till almost 3pm and still no fix for the software. I would of thought a call would of been made prior to my appointment to ensure this software glitch was fixed. We are now driving to Florida and not even 2 hours into the trip the DVD player and back camera stop working with 3 very upset children! Looks like I purchase the van in the wrong colour, should be yellow because I paid 60,000 for a lemon! FURIOUS!

I had a great experience purchasing a vehicle with Clarington Honda. Carrie (sales person) was especially helpful before during and after the sale. The entire team was top shelf. Thanks guys!

The professional team did a great job on my Honda. A recall was done on her and they noticed something else wrong with the car, since it took longer than expected the team fixed the problem and didn't charge for the other small issue.

I have been buying parts for my motorcycles from Clarington Honda for many years. Terry, and the rest of the parts staff are always friendly and very knowledgeable. Great people to deal with. I will continue to bring them my business.

I still waiting for a respond from the service department - it been 2 months now.
I had a discount for a oil change from the Service Manager and left a copy of the his e-mail with customer service. No respond from the Servis Manager. I purchase the CRV form this dealership and still I was not discounted 10 % for the work.
I paid over 200 for brake work - only to find they spray my brake shoes was with WDF 20 spray.
Do not go here for service
