Please only go there for an opinion. Do not have surgery there especially not with Dr Khan. He damaged my eye in surgery and did not have have the decency to advise me and direct me to have the proper treatment afterwards.
09 November 2023 11:46
It is ok if you don’t mind waiting for more than 2 hours each time. My doctor has a preferred patient who can cut the line. The doctor shaked his hand and asked that patient to go to the room while the staff told me that patient is behind me instead. I don’t recommend it.
21 August 2023 7:16
Got a referral from the ER, told me to come at 9am on a Saturday from the ophthalmologist.
Had to wait for over 4 hrs to be seen.
If you are to see me last, why ask me to come when they open?
12 July 2023 23:32
Shout out to Nafeeza and Victoria whose smiling faces and welcoming manor are always appreciated at the front desk! Dr. Alisha Wirekoon is an amazing practitioner! ️
21 May 2023 2:13
I went here b/c of a referral from Emerg. I was in & out within an hour. Filled out new client paperwork, saw someone who ran a slew of tests & then saw the doctor. The appointment was at 2 pm & I was out before 3 pm. The entire staff was very pleasant & thorough. Fully expected to be there for several hours based on these reviews, but they couldn't have been further away from my experience. (there were several people in the waiting room so perhaps there is one of the doctors that is very slow but the doc that takes emerge referrals is fantastic) I highly recommend this place.
17 May 2023 17:43
The clinic is not very accommodating with their appointments.
On you appointment date, they make you wait and wait, and 2 hours later they start checking on you!
Some of the nurses are very hard to understand, and when you ask them to please repeat themselves, they just give you attitude.

I just turned 60 and was referred by my doctor to Clarity Eye in Scarborough for an ophthalmologist appointment which is more serious then a regular eye exam We got their 15 min early and it was very organized from the time you get to reception and then they do several eye exams, and then you get the drops to dilate your pupils so always come with someone because you will be blurred for several hours. And then 15-20 min later I saw my doctor Amil Gupta who was very professional, friendly and gave you a complete rundown on your visit. So they get a great review from me.and I DONT give great reviews just like that.
06 March 2023 7:55
The front desk is awful. My dad had an appointment Dr didn’t show. No one called, no messages left. When I spoke to the front they said they left a msg and read out a number that doesn’t exist. They were lying I knew, they knew. Took a day off for no reason. The front staff were rude wouldn’t let me complain to management. Avoid this place at all cost. They don’t do a good job.
01 March 2023 15:00
Totally unreliable. I was schedule via an urgent referral from the hospital emergency. Receptionist called to book appointment. When I went there at the prescribed time the office was closed and nobody was answering the phone. Looks like a scam but a bit more dangerous because it is my eyesight at stake here
23 January 2023 8:44
The clarity eye clinic in Vaughan
The reception didn’t confirm I receive their message when they change the time of my appointment from 1: 25pm to morning 10 something. They just called my home phone and left the message and not trying to call my cell phone even my cell phone number is on their record.
Even worse that when I went to check in at the original appointment time, the receptionist not even told me that the doctor was already off or anything and kept me waiting there for an hour until I double checked with them. They even not sincerely apologies and put the blame on me for not checking my home phone voice mail. It ruined my day cause I especially took the day off to see the doctor. Now I have to take another day off again.
Very very bad service
20 January 2023 14:15
Very Professional Stuff, starting from the reception Sara and Dianna Very polite and helpful. Assistant Tali super knowledgeable. Technician Steven is very professional. He is the best. Dr. Chow he spend enough time to explain to me every thing i need to know. Great caring people working there. Thank you very much.
Will recommend this office to my friends and family
15 November 2022 22:31
Was tolerable in the past, now lazy and impossible to deal with, no one to talk to except call center that is completely useless. Go elsewhere.
21 October 2022 20:21
Inexcusable to have patients wait 3-4 hours in clinic for appointments! Learn basic scheduling and run your practice with respect for other people's time!
11 October 2022 1:30
Had an appointment with Dr. Tong. Waited 40 minutes and left. Wanted to redo tests I had done 6 weeks ago for no reason other than “they are too old”. All of course billed to OHIP.
03 October 2022 10:14
My father made an appointment 3 months in advance. They had to move his appointment three times.
The waittime even with appointment was 3 hours long.they could have called to ask him to come later rather than overbooking. Thank goodness he booked work off for this week!
But very unprofessional-would not recommended this spot if you don't have 3-4 hours long to wait.
27 September 2022 11:37
Long wait (up to 2 hours). Poor customer service. I did not have a good experience at this place. They operate like a factory.
17 September 2022 20:06
I waited for an hour and a half to see it, and the people behind me had finished watching it, and it was my turn. The doctor is fine. I just don't know which line is in the queue.
04 August 2022 13:16
Waited 2 hours and had drops put in my eye and frozen only to have the doctor start the laser and try to look in my eye for about 15 minutes and then give up, say she's gonna get another lens and it'll be about 15 minutes, and then disappear for an hour, only to be told by an assistant that she got busy and I have to come in tomorrow at 9 am for my laser surgery. Ridiculous.
22 July 2022 14:01
NOT IMPRESSED WHAT SO EVER! They certainly know how to sell their service. I was told I would never need glasses again after the surgery but they failed to inform me that the lens would cloud over and require Lazer to remove thus delaying the brain getting use to near and far sight in each eye which they also failed to inform me of as well. They give you a nice shiny brochure which has basically no information that you actual need. Try to get an appt or someone to call you back, actually try getting ahold of someone there. It's clearly volume it's a clearing warehouse for sure and if I could do it all again I WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THIS SURGERY! And certainly not at Clarity or Lumea!
14 July 2022 6:39
I guess that, based on reading other reviews, I should consider myself lucky to have been seen in a reasonable amount of time though I was 30 minutes early for my appointment. The technician was very good - friendly and thorough. It's because of her that this place is getting two stars. As an ICU nurse, I have plenty of experience with doctors and consultants and, sadly, Dr. McGuire, is not great. I found him to be rushed and rude. He did not fully read my optometrist's note or even his own technician's report. I had to point out that the pressure in my right eye was high and thank goodness I did because I needed a different medication to bring it down. Another patient may not have realized this or even be to scared/nervous to contradict the doctor.

One of the receptionists was not wearing her mask properly, not covering her nose and barely covering her mouth. This is problematic - most of the patients are elderly and the place is very busy and can get quite full.

I have a follow up and I really hope my eye is better because I have no intention of seeing Dr. McGuire again. At that point, if it's not better, I will be asking my optometrist to refer me to a different ophthalmologist in a different practice.
10 July 2022 9:29
Efficient, great communication, my mom went there for multiple surgeries and the nurse “Hannah” was helping her both times! Hannah is super comforting and supportive and goes above and beyond in taking care of patients ️️ Dr. Belovey is also super nice and caring!
I believe we’ve had one negative encounter with one of the doctors who appeared to be rushing and “too busy” but thankfully he was just filling in temporarily

"This is pandemic, are you going to buy a mask or not? It's $3 per one. Buy or no? " That's how that receptionist spoke to me. I don't have a mask cause of the shortage and this doctor's office never told me or explain to me about it wearing a mask to the clinic or else you won't be seen. I totally understand the situation and it's pandemic. But when your office is not clear about the situation during pandemic situation then you need to change and learn. I asked them to get the calls pulled so they can learn and improve during this pandemic but they never mentioned anything about the masks to me at all. But that receptionist refused to get that call pulled and said it was recorded and left me hanging at the door. Basically they were blaming me for not wearing a mask when they didn't even let me know the whole procedure nice and clear. Like you said it's pandemic. So let's be cautious and clear with everything. Also, that receptionist checked everyone's temperature but not mine which is very weird. This clinic definitely needs to review their pandemic procedure and educate their staff more.
P.s: from top to bottom I'm willing to wear a mask and follow every single procedure. My whole point was this clinic is not cautious enough and not guiding patients well.

I have been to the Vaughan clinic half a dozen times over the last 2.5 months with an eye issue that none of the doctors to far have been able to diagnose, and so they continue to prescribe medications that are not working. One of the ophthalmologists I saw, Dr Chow, prescribed 4 months. 4 months! Of a brand name immunosuppressant that my insurance did not cover. My first question to him was.does it need to be brand name (to which I never heard a response back) ? The second question was.why 4 months if the issue is not even diagnosed yet (pharmacist suggested taking 1 month for now) ? If I hadn't asked any questions, my bill on that prescription would have been almost $400.00.
This seems to be a push for kickback revenue, rather than patient care, and I will be seeking ophthalmology expertise elsewhere in the future.

Clarity Eye is a wonderful eye clinic and Dr. Khan and his staff are exceptional. I have known Dr. Khan for over a decade and a half and his professionalism and care has made my care experience better
04 July 2021 13:57
No respect for appointment times. I’m desperate to find an alternative for my father who has to attend regularly. I have waited up to 3 hours for my father for a 40 minute procedure, tops! I think it is because they mostly deal with the elderly and eye problems due to aging that they are so disrespectful of time, I think the attitude is, who cares they’re retired! Today though was eye popping (excuse the pun) even by their poor standards. Arrived for a 2 pm appointment to find 18 to 20 people, some not wearing proper face coverings or socially distanced lining down the sidewalk outside the eye clinic in cold temperatures. My dad is 90 so I did not want him standing in a line so got out and went to find out what was going on. Chaos. No one was in charge, no one at the door to communicate anything. Finally after 5 to 10 minutes of asking what was happening a woman told me they were so over booked that the wait was over 2 hours to get into the building! Then, as I know from previous experience, up to 3 hours once inside. Something fishy going on with this lot. Is it greed that they are so woefully overbooked? Really, 5 hours for a 40 minute assessment and injection! And 2 hours of that standing in the cold outside at 90 years old. Fortunately it was not a life threatening situation for my father and we canceled and left in disgust. They should be out of business, but people are desperate. Anyone saying they have received prompt service was lucky, I have been going there for over a year with my father and it is nearly always over 2 hours. Drawing the line at 5 hours. Looking for an alternative from my father’s GP.

Dr. Andre Ali Ridha is my doctor. Extremely thorough and detail oriented. Excellent ophthalmologist
26 June 2021 18:44
I have had many issues in relation to the health of my eyes over many years.
Having been to several other clinics both in Canada and US I have found Clarity Eye to be an excellent choice for my care. Dr. Khan has been professional and informative as to my clinical issues and I appreciate his direct approach. I have found the staff to be both efficient and pleasant.
26 June 2021 0:55
I visited the clinic twice in the last month and had a very positive experience.
The staff was friendly, quick responsive and followed the safety protocol in good manners.
The clinic was clean and well organized - plenty seating space following social distance. I noticed Sanitizing stations spread around the clinic, tested two of them and were working well.
Lab machinery is up-to-date as most of other equipments.
I would recommend this place to a friend.
21 June 2021 2:35
I have follow-up appointments with Dr. Wirekoon. She is arrogant and very impatient to answer questions.
30 May 2021 23:50
I had a great experience at Vaughan location. Very clean and they take extra precautions due to Covid. I have asthma and its very hard for me to breathe with the mask. The staff was friendly, understanding, helpful and accommodating, allowing me to sit in a room by myself instead of in the waiting room. Dr. McGuire was helpful and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. After numerous tests and the consultation, I was in and out of there in less than 1 1/2 hours. Highly recommend this clinic.
19 May 2021 15:26
Absolutely no respect for time, we waited over an hour and a bit to see the doctor. Completely disrespectful and they don't care because we have no alternative! My dad is 90, If we waited much longer he wouldn't need his eyes. Brutal customer care and service, all about the billings and getting paid. Someone should be aware of this and put a stop to it!
08 May 2021 20:43
The doctor was very unprofessional and rude. Kept insisting that I get a $40 injection of cortisol to fix my issue and wasn’t listening to anything that I brought up. Very rude and I spent more time in the waiting room than with the doctor. Barely took a look at my chart and simply brushed off any questions that I had and kept insisting that I spend $40 for something that might fix my issue. Never again!
03 May 2021 11:05
I am very disappointed in the treatment given to my father. Since my parents didn't understand the situation, I repeatedly tried to contact the doctors involved, I along with my parents were disregarded. Honestly my father has been trying to recover for a simple cataract surgery for over a month.

I would advice future patients to look into other resources. From my experience the doctors clearly do not care. They go as far as laughing at the situation; when a patient is clearly in pain.

I am beyond disappointed by this experience.
15 April 2021 21:13
Every review on here is accurate! I am sitting in the waiting room 2hrs after my scheduled appointment time, have not yet seen a Dr.and my mother is sitting in the car waiting “in case” I need drops. I booked an early AM apt thinking that they could not possibly be behind to start the day.fooled me! Hoping the Dr. Is good!
22 March 2021 16:38
They wasted an hour of my time plus 40 minute drive there and back (mother). I'm visually impaired so it's not easy to get to Vaughn but they don't really care. After an hour of waiting there finally the doctor met me and she gave me a long speech and then told me that it wasn't covered by Insurance even though when she made the appointment she assumed it would have been covered.dr wirekoon January 27 11: 55.

I had my cataract surgery on my right eye on Feb 10. It was scheduled with Dr Khan but I didn’t get to see him through the entire process. After the surgery, I was scheduled for a postoperative visit with Dr Singh on Feb 11. I arranged a ride from Milton to Vaughan with my friend. At the office I was seen by Dr Singh’s assistant and she looked into my eye and told me everything looks fine. I was under the impression that she was helping Dr Singh and would report her findings to him and he would eventually have a look in the eye as well and I wanted to discuss a few things with him. But to my surprise, the assistant came back and said I am good to go. Dr Singh did not bother to see his patient at all. I am not sure if it is even legal to delegate physician’s duty to an assistant. And even if it is legal, it is mind boggling that a physician would be derelict in his duty to rely on the assistant's findings and refuse to see his patients himself. Patients in Ontario deserve better from the physicians.

I had an eye injury and was sent from Emergency. Was told that it can take 1.5-2 hours. I though that they might put drops in my eyes, therefore there will be a long wait. That was not the case. They packed everyone at the same time (COVID restrictions and all) so if anyone might be late the doctor does not lose time and money. After 1/2 hours no doctor in site, he was speaking loudly at the back on personal matters. When I asked the front desk where is the doctor I could see their panic, and claimed technical difficulties. In 5 minutes the doctor showed up and asked me to interrupt my treatment, he was expediting me being the 'trouble maker'. Due to the interruption of treatment my injury re-opened in 3 weeks. In the future I will avoid the doctor if not the clinic.
04 February 2021 18:00
This is "we don't care " style clinic. They can register you at you appointment time and then just forget about you until you remind. But that doesn't mean anything. You can end up waiting again. Doctors treat you like a dirt under their feet. Cyborg style persons. You don't exist. The only thing they feel when near you is thee smell of your money. That 1 star is there because you cannot post without it. My judgement - minus 5 stars
02 February 2021 18:59
This the worst I have seen in Canada. They are not managed and overbooked may be. The staff is not trained and polite. I came here because of a referral and would try not to do the same thing next time. I got my turn after one hour wait and telling them twice that it is my turn. I'm not feeling good about this because for me the first expression is important.

We had our optometrist book our daughter's appointment with this specialist. This Eye Institute's staff waited a week and half and called us the night before our appointment to cancel it and say they don't exam/treat children. Very unprofessional to keep a family waiting like that and now we have to find another specialist.

I had the worst experience with this clinic yesterday. First, I have been diagnosed with extreme dry eyes, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, already born blind in my left eye, this has been horrible for the past 3 years. My eye doctor in Barrie told me about a treatment to help with this disease called Lipi Flow, quoted 975.00 plus tax in Barrie office, out of pocket, not covered, no guarantees. So my family doctor sent a referral to Clarity eye in Vaughan in Sept. Saw the eye doctor, who was very nice, who did say that this treatment would help. So I was then to see, who I thought was another eye Doctor in there clinic, who told me it was 800 plus tax and booked me for DEC 2 nd.after a month of steroids and other prescription drops, over the past 3 months, nothing working, I was nervous but excited to finally maybe have some relief. Drove in not the best weather yesterday, took day off work, didn't sleep night before because I was so stressed about the treatment. So we get there, 1 hour wait, fill out some paper work and am sent to the lady down the hall for the treatment. She first says I need payment before we start, weird. So I pull out the money, cash, she says that's 1200 $ plus tax. I looked at her and said you told us 800.00 plus tax when we booked. She says that price was Sept price, its DEC, now 1200.00. Really, I said to her. I would have had the treatment done in Sept then, you didn't, say that. It doesn't even make sense, since the treatment in Barrie is 975.00. Hence why I booked with them. Anyways, after all that, we left, not to have the treatment done. Your telling me the price increased from 800.00 to 1200.00 in 3 months, and it slipped your mind to inform of the price change if I wait to book. On route home, booked to have done in Barrie now. I called today to find out the so called Doctors name who does the Lipi Flow, and I'm told she is not a Doctor. Asked her name, I get Laih, asked her last name, and was told they cant give it to me. They are not allowed. I said, so this so called technician, is allowed to quote me 800.00 for a treatment, then change that to 1200.00, work on my eyes, but I'm not allowed to know her name. I am not happy at all. Very disappointed, in the customer service. As of now, there office has not called me about why I left, even though I made sure to let the front desk know to let the doctor know why I left. I am now waiting for a return call form the eye doctor that seen me, in that office, who referred me to have this treatment done, to let him know what is happening in his office. Wonder if I will get a return call.

Waited over an hour to get tested. Plus there is no direct phone line. The people were nice but it could be organized better.
17 February 2020 3:56
Everyone except the actual doctors are monkeys and they don’t care about appointment times anyways. They also charge you if you come in late for your appointment but why charge for late appointments when you don’t get to even see the doctor until 2-3 hours later. Pathetic service.
13 February 2020 19:44
Seemed efficient to me. My appointment was 8: 25 in the morning on a Tuesday, and I felt I was processed on time. One person took my eye photo, a few minutes later a different person called my name and did the eye check. Then waited for approx 10-15 min to see the doctor, where he reviewed the finding, answered my questions, asked me to come back in a month and sent me off with some bloodwork forms.
Front desk was unable to make the follow-up appointment, and had to escalate to the manager. They were to call me back with the follow-up appointment time, and have not yet (at the end of the day of the appointment)
Doctor did not advise me that some of the bloodwork tests are not covered under the provincial healthcare; not a big deal, but would have been nice.
I did not have any procedure done, so i cannot comment on that. Mine was a referral from my optometrist after i had an eye incident.
08 February 2020 4:02
Happy with Dr. King Chown. He wasnt in rush visiting me and answered all my questions. I was surprised that they were very quick and didnt have to wait at all. Have to mention that my appointment was at 9: 40 and I was there at 9: 10! Didnt wait at all, they called me before I even sign the consent.

Excellent service by ALL staff, busy business, everyone has their duties and they all perform them in perfect harmony. Thank you Dr. Sanghera!

After working as a health care professional for 30+ years, I believe I'm qualified to judge what is and what isn't acceptable health care. This was the worst example of substandard care that I've ever experienced or witnessed. From start to finish the care was dreadful. Staff were rushed, no one introduced themselves or explained procedures, no health teaching was offered and inadequate follow-up instructions were given. I was left on the table after having eye surgery with no one checking on me - in fact, the physician was seen leaving the building. Of prime concern are safety issues. I was told by the physician that I could drive immediately post-op. Luckily I had a driver with me, as I left with a patch, feeling shaky and in much discomfort. Fortunately my own eye doctor was available and I went directly to her office where I received the expected professional advice that was blatantly lacking at Clarity. This eye institute is nothing more than a money-making assembly line and it desperately needs to reassess its standard of care. Pets receive more humane treatment at the vet. Stay away if you value your vision. Star rating of zero.

STAY AWAY FROM THAT CLINIC!
They have no respect to the patients time at all!
As previous reviewer mentioned, it is money making conveyor belt in healthcare that overcharge OHIP, and at the end of the day, we as taxpayers pay for that. They will book an appointment two hours before the doctor be able to see you. The hallways are full of patients that are waiting. The test with the technician takes 10 minutes max, the rest is just waiting time and the only purpose of that is not to STOP the money making conveyor belt.
Someone with legal authority should look into that outrage!
