This place was great when I got to go in with my cats and see one or two specific vets who are EXCELLENT (i forget their names both are women and my cats LOVE them).

However 3 months ago my cat was returned from a checkup traumatized and covered in his own feces. I could not enter with my cat as a result i do not know what happened. I can say the vet was male and had an accent. My cat has since been very skittish (3 to 4 months now) which is not like him at all.

Unfortunately due to these circumstances i can no longer trust this vet with my animals, as i cannot guarantee my pets safety while on site.

*edit* - I reached out to management as they suggested.they let me know they would return my call monday.they did not.

*Edit* - I have never been this angry in my life. This "VET" is a joke. They only want your money. They had me suggest parasite tests for my cat 4 times, i sent them out.no parasites. Went to a competent vet for a second opinion as my cat was not getting better from Clarksons care. Immediately found my 1.3 year old cat was parasite ridden and the pills he is on now have completely turned him around.

*Edit* - I stand by my review 100% my cat has still not recovered from whatever happend to him that vet visit.the hospital refused to give me video recordings of the procedures taken on my cat as well. NEVER TAKE YOUR CAT HERE

*Edit* - it is july 6 2023 and I stand by this review

*Edit* - It is January 17 2024 and I stand by this review.

Please please don't consider this clinic for your pets! They went from being a great clinic to a horrible one. I have been going since 2011 and it was fantastic when they were located in Clarkson and open 24 hrs. They also had a great groomer there (Kelly) who I could rely on to keep my dogs in tip top shape. When they relocated they didn't have grooming accomodations even tho she was told they would. After the original owner Dr Mudrich left the place and service has DRASTICALLY declined. The clinic lost all there original front staff and the present ones in my opinion are very incompetent. There are so many options in the area and I suggest when looking for a clinic you consider those before Clarkson Village!

I was in the area from out of town. My dog had somewhat of an emergency experiencing a puncture wound from playing in the yard. I tried a few emergency clinics in the area but they seemed not all that urgent to get my dog in as they had more likely pressing emergencies to tend to, understandbly so. I called Clarkson Animal Hopsital by chance and they told me to come right over. We were greated warmly, the doctor came out immediately to greet us and we started the examination right away. The office was clean, professioinal, the staff was friendly and professional from the front staff to the administration office, the vet techs and the doctor. I will be passing along the practice information to those I know that live in the area in hopes thay too will call Clarkson Animal Hospital if they have the need for routine and/or emergency.

Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. My cat had ate a pill that could cause him to have kidney failure but thankfully the vets recommended the right thing to do and he made it.

Today marks a sad anniversary for me, as it is the exact day and date that my cat spent his final hours there, six years ago. I brought him to the hospital as he exhibited, which I now recognize, as possible symptoms of hypoglycemia, given that he was diabetic. Those were peeing in my bed and panting. Rather than treat those, the vet decided to take an xray, and suggested he might have a mass. The only way to definitively diagnose would be to use a contrast solution, but she didn't do it. I wish I had insisted. Instead, she recommended humane euthanasia. I was alarmed and said that I wasn't prepared to do that, so she sent me home with painkillers. Once home, he ate three bowls of food! My regret is bringing him back to the hospital later that night, when I agreed to an IV drip, on which, they said he may not survive the night. Seems he had a laundry list of health issues, unbeknownst to me. Apparently as the vet techs were attempting to insert the needle, he became uncontrollable so they had to confine him in a small plastic sided kennel, with an O2 hose inserted. At 2am, I received a call saying that he was turning blue. In a panic, I drove there, by which point he had returned to normal. The poor guy, as he was large, took up the entire kennel. No wonder he was turning blue! At 7am, they called to say there was no improvement, so I accepted the fact that maybe it was time to let him go. When I arrived, he had been placed in a cage and eagerly stood up when he saw me. Despite their doubt, he made it through the night! Why I didn't take him home to keep an eye on his condition is a decision with which I've struggled to this day. He actually looked like he was sweating. I would too, if I was confined to an all plastic room, with no room to turn around or breathe. Exhausted and overwhelmed, I agreed to say goodbye to my sweet Percy then and there, based on their advice. I still believe that he may have been misdiagnosed. I regret not taking him out of there and elsewhere for an ultrasound or another diagnosis. The outcome might have been different. That said, they did successfully treat one of my other cats four years prior, who was suffering from pancreatitis

I'm so fortunate to have crossed paths with Dr. Forbes. She treated my cat as if he were her own and was so empathetic to all of my worries when he was not well. She is so knowledgable and thorough. The team at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital was very friendly and welcoming! Great location too with easy parking. My previous vet would not even return a call when my cat was sick and this clinic was so helpful without ever meeting me & arranged a follow up appointment quickly! Highly recommend! Thank you

My 10 year old tabby cat Sioux-See (Suzy) had her annual exam and rabies booster April 6th 2023 at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital. Her veterinarian is Dr. Hamad who is knowledgeable, informative and thorough. He is courteous and explains facts in ways I can understand. He follows through with an e-mail with instructions in case I forget some details. Dr. Hamad advised me of the long term affects of Sioux-See's medication she has intermittently been on as her condition is becoming more frequent. Dr. Hamad recommended an alternative and Sioux-See is taking her new medication very well and in 3 doses I can see an improvement in her well being already. What is so unique about Dr. Hamad is his interaction with Sioux-See during her exam. When Dr. Hamad examines her and gives her the vaccine he speaks softly to her telling her she is a good girl. When he is speaking to me about procedures he pats her gently. This helps to relieve her stress and builds a sense of trust. Sioux-See and our family appreciate the excellent care of Dr. Hamad and we're very happy he is Sioux-See's regular vet. We are very pleased with the service and care from the Clarkson Village Animal Hospital team.

Thank you to the staff at Clarkson Village animal hospital for the care and professionalism you showed to our fur baby and whole family during a very stressful visit to your clinic.
01 May 2023 15:25
We have been bringing our two kittens here for the past few months. Dr. Jessica, Dr. Diane, and the rest of the staff have been amazing and have made our vet visits worry-free. Dr. Diane did the procedure for spaying our two kittens and they have now fully recovered without any issues. It's also great that they're open late on weekdays and open during weekends. Highly recommend Clarkson Village Animal Hospital!

They’ve always been kind and helpful. Whenever I’ve had an emergency with any of my pets they’ve been there to help
Me.
As an example, my cat swallowed a big piece of plastic wrap once (BIG) I couldn’t stop
him as he took it and hid away and they helped him make him puke as no hospital wanted to help it was a Sunday evening and everyone was at capacity and they needed a specific scope to take that out as cats do not like easily, after calling around to different hospitals I called them back and they said “bring him In and we will do all we can “ and managed to make him vomit the big wrapper (mind you making a cat vomit is not easy). I am Truly thankful. They’ve also taken wonderful care of my dogs. I just wished they went back to 24 hours.
06 April 2023 11:02
Great place was open when all other vets were closed for the weekend, have brought my dog here a couple times and they always help
01 April 2023 0:37
I have came here multiple times with my 3 cats and every time we have such a great experience. It’s always stressful to bring your pets to the vet, even more so when they’re sick, and the staff here make it such an easy-going experience as they are so lovely. Every vet here is so knowledgeable and you can tell that they love pets and really care for their well-being, but special shout-out to Vet Diane, she was so so sweet and really helped our cat Bella
18 February 2023 19:01
The staff is amazing. They always treat my pet with care and understanding. They are helpful and knowledgeable. Can't think of a better place to bring Catguy to care for him.
08 February 2023 6:28
When I was in Toronto and had a pet emergency that required care immediately, every single place said no. A friend recommended this place to me and not only did they take me immediately, but they were SO kind to me and my cat. They were able to do the tests and get results immediately and send me home in the same night. This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a vet. Thank you guys and Dr. Diane so much!
12 January 2023 12:08
Such an amazing group that saved my cats life. The other vet was busy when I had an emergency, and they immediately took me. They took such great care of my cat and give me updates every single day. They not only cleaned him but brushed him and make sure that he was comfortable. Skylar is very happy to be home, but also have met the people he did.
07 December 2022 21:36
My puppy swallowed a plastic bone. Yes, swallowed it whole. They pumped his stomach and save me a huge bill from the hospital. Great people, took me in at 8am.
02 December 2022 11:40
A wonderful place with people who clearly care about the animals they treat. We had an emergency with our cat and they were open on a Sunday. Upon hearing about our problems they managed to squeeze us in and see our cat the same day. Despite being a last minute addition to their schedule at no time did we feel rushed, in fact it was the opposite. They were thorough and took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for veterinary care for their pets

We recently had to take our 2.5 year old Golden Retriever in to have his eye looked at (it was irritated after sticking his head into some bushes and was very red had a lot of gunk coming out of it). Our regular vet office is closed on the weekends so I called Clarkson Village Animal Hospital on Saturday asking if they had any availability on Sunday. They were able to accommodate us and the vet who looked at our dog was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. He conducted a few tests to ensure that his eye was just irritated and there was no further damage to the eye, explaining what he was doing and what he was looking for every step of the way. He prescribed some eyedrops and after just a few days his eye is already on the mend. We are so grateful that they were able to fit us in on such short notice!

Compassionate care when Her Bella had too much cancer. It was too far gone and they made time for us to say goodbye without any undue suffering.
Her sister has a sore belly and I emailed them first.

I was not paid for this advertisement.

After being told by numerous emergency clinics from Hamilton to Toronto on Saturday that they were too busy to look at my puppy. This hospital took us in right away to resolve the issue. Thank you so much for taking my puppy in and taking care of him. What a bonus you are open on a Sunday!
22 July 2022 13:10
Only 2 stars- disliked it. Had my cat brought in to see a vet.

The vet was very hard to understand and wasn't even having eye contact. After that I was charged for "comprehensive consultation" and I couldn't believe it.
BTW, i was seen 40 min past my booking time and no explanation was given. I was waiting inside the room with my cat getting anxious. Total time the vet actually spent with me and my cat was 10 min.
08 July 2022 11:18
I would like to thank Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for being so great during the last few months of my cat’s life.

To start off he would be very fearful and aggressive when going to the vet so we would avoid it at all costs. Unfortunately he became very ill and we had to take him in. Several other vet offices wouldn’t even see him, I called Clarkson and explained the situation they took him that day. He was given something to relax and they handled him with no big problems I was amazed.

I would like to especially thank Dr Cusmariu for working so hard trying to save him, and always checking in to see how he was doing. In the end he was terminally ill but the treatment he was given made him comfortable and gave us some extra time before we had to say goodbye. Dr. Forbes was also amazing and compassionate, helping us figure out that he had liver lymphoma. Both vets were excellent.

Today we were surprised to receive a sympathy card with an ink paw print that they had taken from our kitty, that was such a kind act and meant a lot to us. Thank you!
19 June 2022 22:05
I brought my reactive dog to see Dr. Forbes for her annual check up and vaccines and I could not have been happier with the quality of service and care I received from everyone at the clinic. Dr. Forbes was amazing with my dog, and conducted a through check up, and it was fear free! Highly recommend this clinic. They're also super responsive if you reach out to them via email, which is important to me. Thank you Dr. Forbes, from myself and Maja!

If there was an option to give -1 star I would have.

On April 5th at 7: 40pm we rushed our dog to the clinic as years ago we had taken him there and it was a 24hrs clinic. He was bleeding from the mouth and it wouldn't stop. When husband and son got there the receptionist immediately went inside to talk to the doc. They could hear the doc tell her to tell them that he has left for the day and the dog should be taken to the other 24hrs vet hospital on Winston Churchill. At that point time was of the essence so they just turned around and rushed to the hospital. It was diagnosed he has cancer and his platelets were next to zero and that's why the bleeding was not stopping. I am writing this today as it took us time to come to terms with the diagnoses but the more I think about it the more it angers me that the vet turned away a sick 12yrs old dog at 740pm when the clinic closes at 8pm.
29 April 2022 20:21
Everyone is so helpful and caring here. They were able to fit us in when our previous Vet clinic wouldn't. They called us on a weekend to check in on our then sick dog and took the initiative to follow to make sure everything was ok. Their level of care here is next level.

Brought my dog here to get shaved this evening (February 28th 2022). I was given a prescription drugs to give to the dog prior to our appointment. My dog is older and won’t sit still during a shave or grooming session. The vet techs had to give her more sedatives In order to work on her face.

After a hour and a half, the vet tech came out with my dog, with a shaved face while the rest of her body wasn’t attended too. The vet tech giggled at the way she looked, when I asked why the dog wasn’t shaved. Her reply was I am a vet tech not a groomer. The arrangement with the Clarkson Village Animal Hospital was to shave this dog’s hair.

I paid for this service prior to seeing the dog, otherwise I wouldn’t have gave them a dime for an incomplete job.

Had to head to the Pet Valu to pick up a grooming kit afterwards to finish off what they didn’t complete.

Furthermore the vet tech ended up cutting the dogs leg.

Scam. False hope that costs thousands of dollars. Inadequate expensive medical care handed out with a condescending smile!
26 March 2022 21:25
Long time client and past few years service has gone downhill. Was once a great clinic, now not so much…

To the owner, please do not politicize my post.

My first experience at clarkson village was a great one. As soon as I walked in the receptionist Chelsea who checked me in was prompt, and helpful. My dog Jack was coming in for his vaccines and nail trim, he’s a shepherd so he’s a little bit anxious at the vet. The receptionist brought him back to the vet and the technician. The technician Christine was amazing at keeping Jack calm, and Dr. Forbes worked quickly and efficiently so Jack wouldn’t be there longer than he needed. I got a certificate of bravery for Jack. Thank you for the team at Clarkson Village for taking something stressful, and making it a breeze. Will definitely be back!

This past Thursday I had to say goodbye to my wonderful Pug Flynn. When I arrived at the hospital I was lead to a quiet room and the staff and the doctor were wonderful and sensitive to the situation and my needs. They made the very painful and heartbreaking event bearable and I thank them all.

I can't thank Dr. Forbes and her team enough, they really went above and beyond for our pup! We were new patients and had been dealing with grape toxicity, there was a lot going on (acute kidney failure) Dr. Forbes was kind, patient, knowledgeable, answered all our questions and came in on her day off! Easily could have passed over blood work and follow up to another Dr in her practice but she didn't - it meant so much to us! The clinic fees are very much in line with what other places are charging. I am so happy we came to this clinic, our pup is happy and feeling great. Thank you Dr. Forbes from the bottom of our hearts, you really are exceptional:) Front Office (Chelsea) you were so kind to us, thank you!

I am writing this review to extend my sincerest gratitude to the doctors and staff at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital. I brought my dog Cooper in the other day because he had become lethargic and was excessively shaking. Upon arrival the woman at reception was incredibly sweet and understanding of my concerns. The staff was very thorough with their COVID protocol, which I appreciated. Cooper was seen by Dr. Hertel who was incredibly efficient. I appreciated the time he took to explain the steps he was taking and being so compassionate when discussing costs and diagnosis. We ended up discovering that Cooper was suffering from pneumonia. If it hadn't been for Clarkson Village he may not be here with me today! THANK YOU AGAIN, you are appreciated.

Vet prices suck. But they're all pretty much the same. That being said. I haven't had a bad experience here ever. Everyone's friendly and genuinely care about your pet. They don't make you pay for expensive stuff that isn't necessary.
30 September 2021 12:09
I suggest that you avoid this vet at all costs. A visit to them, and subsequent misdiagnosis, almost cost my dog her life. I visited the vet again after my dog had fully recovered to discuss this with them, and in their words "we accept no responsibility for our vet's diagnosis or prescriptions". Needless to say, I will not be risking my pet's life at Clarkson no matter what the circumstances. There are many other vets in the area who instead work with integrity and honesty to choose from.
24 September 2021 18:18
This place is absolutely awful. I called them because our vet ran out of insulin and we needed some for our dog. When I called they had told me a price for a particular size, then when I went in to pick it up it was double the amount! They wouldn’t admit to their mistake and give it to me for the price I got told. I couldn’t go to another vet at this point because they were all closed! They charged $6 for 2 needles! The insulin for a tiny tiny bottle they charged what we pay for a huge one. I am so angry right now. It’s absolutely disgusting.
09 September 2021 17:37
Completely understaffed, horrible customer care … do not waste your time or money with this awfully run clinic you will regret it.
28 August 2021 23:00
Terrible place. We tried to bring Bronco our Puppy their last night around midnight. The man vet would not see him because he was not a patient.
Bronco has been diagnosed with servere Collapse Tranchea.
He had another terrible cough, honking, wheezing, he was in distrees.very heartless man.
Brought him to Oakville - they gave him 3 shots. Meds.
I would never go to Clarkson Village Animal hospital.
Brought him to our vet again this morning to follow up Dr. M. He has now refered us to a specialist. Great vet we use at Truscott Animal hospital.

Terrible experience and I second ‘Spring Thyme’s comments. Do not consider this establishment if you’re looking for prompt service (which is a given at their prices -$200 for a examination and admittance to ER) and good communication regarding your pet’s status and well-being while admitted.

While I can accept that there’s a global shortage of trained veterinarian support staff, the act of repeatedly not answering calls and putting you on hold for several minutes every time you call is simply unacceptable. Are receptionists also in short supply?

I’m certain that the response will be that all pets in need undergo triage so that critical care patients are tended to first. This I understand well from a physician’s perspective. However, note that there is probably also a burdensome but ethical duty to maintain an adequate level of communication with those who trust you with their pets.

Poor communication and expectations management.

Our puppy had hind leg paralysis and was in pain. We rushed to Clarkson Village hospital and was immediately attended to by the doctor. Extremely helpful and compassionate team. Answered all queries and provided guidance.
30 July 2021 0:56
Do not take your dog here! This clinic shows absolutely no compassion. Wednesday June 09 2021 my dog had a surgical procedure which cost $3176 fast forward to Saturday and she scratched a stitch open. They provide an e collar which is made of fabric so easy for her to scratch through. I called the vet and explained the situation and the receptionist who refused to give me her name and who is quite rude lacks compassion and has zero empathy stated I need to bring her in and it will be an additional cost. My initial emergency visit was $187 so all together at this clinic alone I spent around $3400 and they cannot do a follow up care which is to be expected can happen when a dog has sutures. Reluctantly I will have to go back in two weeks to get her sutures removed. I am a nursing student and would never imagine speaking to a patients family who is in tears in the way I was spoken to tonight. If you love your furry babies I would think twice about this clinic.
23 July 2021 7:50
During the May long weekend my dog was attacked at Jack Darling leash free, we drove to the clinic to have him checked out because he appeared to be in pain and there was evidence of blood. He was assessed very quickly, as animals coming in are assessed based on severity and not just appointments or arrival time, and it turned out that the blood likely belonged to the dog who attacked him and he just had some deep bruising but no broken skin. The process was very quick, I was surprised not to be charged at all. I know they were very busy that weekend but took the time and also advised me of what to look for over the next few days to determine if my dog needed to see his veterinarian for any potential injuries.
06 July 2021 7:48
Front desk staff are fantastic, friendly and very tentative to details. Great service from the doctor on call who explained all the options available to me clearly and the pros and cons.
I would recommend this vet to the local area.
23 June 2021 15:45
Amazing experience! Had an emergency last night with my puppy and they were quick to respond, I drove 30 minutes out to come here since my nearest emergency had a 6 hour wait time - and Clarkson said their wait time wasn’t that long.

The process was super smooth, the vet called me to discuss details about my puppy and was thorough. I would 100% come here again, even if I have to drive an additional 30 minutes because the service is great.
14 May 2021 19:09
Got my dog neutered here the price was very reasonable. It included an initial exam and blood work for the pup. On our 14 day follow up exam to insure pup's in good health. I mentioned that his ear was irritated as he would sake it head often (he was wearing a cone) staff told me that they will ask the vet about it. I received a phone call stating that there would be an additional exam fee of $90+ to look as his ear (emergency hour fee). As the previous paid amount only covered an "exam of the netured area". Pretty much they are currently examining his nut sack but to lift his ear, I need to pay an extra exam fee?

****cant express for you To Go IN with your animal!
A procedure was done with OUT MY authorization-which was terribly painful for my 22 year old cat. Micho. She was left in a cage for over an hour on her last day (was euthanized here-& will never happen again.as I will not bring my animal here) But will euthanize my pets at home as prior years-much more humane and peaceful.

-there is a vet in Toronto.who comes to your home and is half the price
05 December 2020 21:22
Don’t come here. I would put zero starts if I could.
Lady on the phone was extremely rude. When she picked up she asked “is this an emergency or can I put you on a brief hold” and when I tried to ask what is considered an emergency she CUT me off before I can finish asking and she repeated her question with SO MUCH ATTITUDE, “is this an emergency? !? Or can I put you on a brief hold? !? ” And THEN didn’t even WAIT for my response and put me on a “brief hold” aka never picked up the line again.

Called another vet and they were SO MUCH MORE CONSIDERATE.asked us what was wrong with our dog and explained the covid protocol/process of coming in, etc.

What a waste of time. If you’re not going to be nice to your customers in your line of business why do you even bother pursuing a career in it?
17 November 2020 15:07
I was a little apprehensive to try this place out due to some of the negative reviews. But when my dog got really sick, this vet was able to fit us in within a couple of hours, so I decided to give it a shot.

First and foremost, their prices for a 24 hour vet were surprisingly low (about $100 cheaper than Mississauga Oakville emergency vet).

Secondly, their staff is extremely friendly and you can tell that they really care about animals.

Most importantly, the vet was very friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. Considering that this is a 24 hour vet, your experience may differ as it depends on the vet working at the time. I got Dr. Danielle Hong, and she was amazing.

Would highly recommend, especially in an emergency/after hours.
12 October 2020 23:21
Thanks to the team that is currently taking care of my cat (Tutu). I know you guys are doing your best. I hope she feels better. I miss her so much.
02 October 2020 1:08
While I've heard some people have had bad experiences here, I can personally say mine was a great one and for that I am forever grateful to this team and to the surgeon that worked on my doggy. You took amazing care of her and were super helpful and professional during a time where I thought I was losing her. You saved her and made her feel 1000 times better. Although its not cheap here being an emergency vet, it was absolutely worth it!
20 September 2020 1:23
I couldn't have asked for a better hospital. Their wonderful team saved my dogs life. They were extremely patient, honest and understanding of my financial situation. I really couldn't say thank you enough. I appreciate all that you do.
06 September 2020 13:59
I brought my dog Abby here on Sunday night after a horrific experience at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Bramton at Wexford and Highway 10.

I am so grateful with my experience thus far. Even though they could not conduct the surgery within a few hours, they took Abby in and made her comfortable.unlike the other clinic who wanted me to wait with my dog in my car.

They had empathy and compassion. They were also honest. They originally predicted that they couldnt take her in for surgery until midnight so I had to pay initally a $250 12 hospital stay (forgive me if I have this wrong). However, they were able to bump up her surgery by 3 hours, therefore waiving the fee. They could have just kept her longer and I would have never have known so I appreciated that honesty.

Thanks for taking us on Sunday. The receptionist was also great (sorry, I dont know her name).
31 August 2020 5:37
This hospital is amazing. The staff are caring professional and truly care about the animals that come into the clinic.

They literally saved my dog’s life when she had emergency surgery. I’m so thankful my girl Lexy was in such great hands.

Thanks so much to Dr Alex Warrack and his team for coming back to the clinic and performing emergency surgery and for keeping me updated the whole time

Special thanks to Katie for the extra cuddles and snuggles with Lexy and for sending me the detailed email reassuring me that she was fine

Thanks again so much everyone and I would highly recommend this clinic

I have been quite a loyal customer to this clinic and even when I moved to a different city still came to this clinic. Unfortuntely with time this clinic has diminished it's level of service anything good I had to say prior to with this clinic has faded away. They have increased their prices, the customer service is brutal, very disorganized and their technicians as well as vet doctors are poor in diagnostics and taking care of the pets while they stay over night.
06 May 2020 22:39
Thank you for your compassion during a difficult time. My dog was 17 years old and I had to make the difficult decision to let her go. The clinic from the moment I entered were so sweet and caring. I appreciate them seeing my dog right away. I had my own room to spend the last moments with my dog. They did not rush me and let me be comfortable with my decision.

They explained the process and gave me all the time I need to say my good byes. They did not push any sales and simply informed me of my options.

Danielle comfort me and let me give my dog the best form of love which is her peace. Thank you so much for taking care of my dog and me.
01 April 2020 4:12
My dog passed away at home the day before New Year's eve and our vet was in Kitchener so I called Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for assistance. They were very professional, kind, and empathetic. They gave us a private room and as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our beautiful boxer. Overall great service and experience!
26 February 2020 7:58
They deserve 10 stars!

We had a harrowing emergency where our dog that was treated at different vet was fighting for her life. The staff at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital were efficient and helpful. They stabilized the dog right away on emergency basis. Then went on calling around other hospitals in middle of the night to find us a surgeon and a more equipped place. They provided us with all the instructions and support that we needed.

Above all, the humanity and compassion of the people at Clarkson Village Animal Hospital is unsurpassed. I have since dealt with at least 6 or 7 people here over the last several days and every single one has been great. They all went the extra mile to be as helpful as possible. I wish I had brought my dog here in the first place.

I had to put down my dog. He was 15 years old. The kindness and caring of the techs and the vet herself was perfect. Made a difficult decision less stressed. Never a great procedure but it was beautifully conducted and there was comfort for my dog and my family and I in the end. Highly recommend this caring and kind group.

We brought in our new rescue cat Panda after a misdiagnosis from another vet. As it turns out he was very ill. The staff did an amazing job and saved his life!

To all the people that day they charge too much, look at the area. Prices are not much different than other vets in the area and even if they are a little more expensive their experience and care is worth it.

Best vet service in Mississauga. Have always done a good job attending to my animals. Doctor's are very informative.

I went in with my very sick dog about a month ago and my experience with the vet and the front office staff was appalling. I have a list that it too large to go into in regards to bedside manner, politeness etc, but for the review I'd like to focus on the four major things (1) My dog was very sick and on death's door. They took my dog to the back to inject him with pain medication. That's all they told me.pain medication. My dog came back and he collapsed on me. When I started shouting asking for help, they told me the "vet was on the phone and couldn't come right now". Panicked and very upset my dog was dead, the vet FINALLY came back and informed me that it was perfectly normal because they gave him opiods. Why wouldn't you warn me? !? ! So unprofessional, this was truly upsetting to experience. (2) They prescribed medication he didn't need. I was so distraught I wasn't paying attention, it wasn't until I came home that I saw they gave me a $100 cream for a bruise on his nose that was unrelated (and unneeded!) they never asked or talked to me about this - just charged me (3) they told me I should try and switch his diet for the long run, if he got over this immediate issue, I could see some improvement in quality of life. I agreed to try the diet. Well, they charged me for the wrong food, then charged me for product that wasn't even there! The front desk lady didn't even realize until I pointed it out and then she said that she would order it in instead. Well it came in and they ordered in the wrong food AGAIN. (4) The room they kept us in was filthy! Hair and dirt everywhere. I had another healthy dog with me since I couldn't leave her by herself at home, and she got papilloma virus which is basically very contagious but not harmful. I'm convinced she got it from that dirty room since I had spent several hours there over multiple days.

Needless to say, I did not go back. I went to another vet (and got charged the extra new patient fee), and did not regret it. They were amazing, more professional, clean and organized. My dog ended up needing life-saving surgery and I was so grateful that I didn't end up staying with this place. Based on how the rest of my experience went with this vet I do not have much faith my dog would have survived.

Last thing. I called this place 3 x and left a message with reception all three times for the manager to call me back. They never did. Horrible horrible experience in a time when I needed guidance and help. This pet hospital exploited that and downright were disorganized and untrustworthy.

24/7 vet emergency. Great staff - knowledgeable, caring and attentive. They are passionate about all animals. Brought my dog there for emerg service. Thinking of switching to them for full time vet and groomer.

Very expensive, over charge for basic services. Ended up going to Oakpark for more reasonable prices and much better service.

They asked me to have x-ray for my cat which was not need. They charged huge of money for it. However, they did a good job. My cat has been cure. Still thanks for it.

Happy for their availability in case of emergencies, and the staff is friendly, but the couple times we have been there, (2 separate instances with different symptoms) I feel like they are quick to offer their food as a solution instead of investigating an issue further. In both instances independent research ended up solving the issue, as my dog simply doesn't enjoy their food, and it didn't clear up the problem.

They were courteous and cared about my dog but they totally misdiagnosed him and ordered a test that should not have been done on the same sample, thus the results were skewered. My dog was almost treated for a serious illness that he did not have. I went to another vet and we repeated the test and he didn't have the problem they said he had.
They are very expensive too. Extremely expensive.

As a first time dog owner and first time customer to this location, i had a great experience here. The vet was very friendly and tried to find a simple solution to the issue with my puppy first rather than making me do all kinds of tests and treatments. I really appreciated that! I had called a vet closer to me prior to coming here and right away told me to go to emergency with my pup which would have ended up costing hundreds of dollars for a very simple issue that was easily fixed by Dr. Amy. Im very grateful to clarkson animal hospital and they will continue to have my business going forward.

Always there for us when we are in need. And works easily with our Pet Plan Insurance. Our Beau has visited Clarkson Village Animal Hospital for Kennel Cough which advanced to Pneumonia, after he was hit by an SUV and after our recent visit to the Lake where he decided to scarf down a fish skeleton and piece of sharp hard plastic - I watch my boy very carefully and yes, he still gets into trouble - anyway, we have been lucky enough to love close enough to Clarkson Village Animal Hospital where the doctors care and they are also reasonably priced. The only negative is the WiFi and reception in the building, I can never get in touch with friends or family when I need it.

Fantastic staff! Clean office! And offers web-ordering via myvetstore.ca! And they're open legit 24hrs. I've been going here for about a year, they've never let me down. (Extra parking is in the back of the building).

My puppy had a bad odour coming from her ear and had a black coloured build up in her ear. Everyone in this clinic is amazing, from the front desk to the Doctor. It is very clear that everyone working in the clinic is a true animal lover. I've never been to this location before and it was a Sunday and my regular vet was closed.
My dog and myself were immediately made to feel as if I had been taking my dog to this clinic for the last 10yrs. Highly professional staff. I would recommend this clinic to everyone.

This animal hospital is excellent in an emergency because of their hours and availability, but long term isn't one i'd recommend.
They overcharge, don't know how to handle cats, and both the receptionists and veternarian are quite rude. The veternarian assisstants however are great.
In emergencies they will help your pet but will also overcharge and scare you.

Came here with my kitty who had a seizure as it was an emergency and it was close by my house. Terrible experience. They took blood and then tried to push some calming oil on him. Also recommended an xray which they dont even do on the spot and ask the person to pay to get the cray read the next day! All that with a cost of over $400? R u kidding? Aren't you not a vet that can read xray? What about if pet that has an abstraction that needs immediate intervention? Wow. I walked out and took my kitty to my vet and the same thing cost half price! Extremely disappointed. Seems like they only care about $ not your pet.
