Great atmosphere. Awesome live music. Food is definitely lacking. Fish and chips in particular were not good at all.

Service and atmosphere would be 5 star if the food was better. My husband and I, love the pubs. The Brassie Pub and Ye Old Squire are our go to places. (5 stars for both all around and Ye Old Squire is close to hear - 3 mins up the street).

We usually always order the stuffed Yorkies, or Yorkie Pies. Therefore, we know the quality when it comes to them and expect this when we visit.

We thought we would try coach and lantern. He had been there about 10 years ago. Used to go all the time, and was a favourite. I had never been, but looked very special. The reputation had me expecting the very best.

Unfortunetly, both of us were disappointed. They were the worst roast beef stuffed yorkies we had ever had. They seemed as though they were prepared then frozen. The dough tasted this way. The vegatables were definetly frozen before hand. We also thought the slime of mushrooms and onions was gross. Again, we have good quality competitors for comparison. We don't feel we will be coming back here as first impressions are everything.

(Our server was amazing, we still gave her a good tip as we normally would. It was not her fault. When she came to ask how the food was though, we should have spoken up on the spot. We didn't want to turn others off around us, as the place is very small and not as private if sitting close to others).

That's another point - we were seated at the worst table in the place. The little single table in the right hand corner in front of the bar.

Perhaps other food on the menu here is great and what holds the reputation and not their Yorkies. To be honest, I think they should remove theirs from the menu if they cannot make it better or do it justice.

If you'd like to try York Pies, (Mmmm) go to Brassie or Ol' Ye Squire. Just a heads up, last time we went to Brassie, our favorite meal was arranged oddly with mini yorkies instead of in the pie. Assuming they must had run out - although, Brassie has some new very yummy yorkie options to chose from.including brisket yorkie. I think they had to up their game due to Ol Ye Squire and The Coach both serve Stuffed Yorkies/Yorkie Pies.

Drinks and food were yummy. Inside is quite worn down and the floor is quite uneven. The courtyard is pretty.

We love this restaurant. It's always fantastic food. The atmosphere is awesome. The staff and service are excellent.

Coach and Lantern is the best spot to have a cozy drink and relax. They have amazing nachos! Make sure to reserve a table on the weekend to guarantee a spot. Have been going to coach and lantern for years.

The ambiance is very cool, old British pub kind of vibe, good live entertainment. Would have given 5 stars but the service was very slow

I discovered a true hidden gem right in front of my hotel during my three-day visit to Hamilton. The ambiance instantly transports you to the vibrant streets of London's West End. Surprisingly, the British cuisine here surpasses even the flavours found in London itself. Without fail, every time I'm in Hamilton, a visit to this place is a must on my itinerary.

Good food, great service. It was quite busy when we went however our server Kate did a great job managing everything and made sure to check in with us many times. Overall would recommend

Great little pub that radiates it’s age with dimmed lights, old decor and a homey atmosphere. The food was great, notably the oil and vinegar dip with proceeds going to charity. The wings were great, some of the best lemon pepper I’ve had.

Dirty tables and a weird smell.
The service wasn’t even service. Our waitress came buy our dirty table and said she was going to wipe it down 10 min later we left. She was outside wiping tables and said we only have one bottle of cleaner ahahahhaha.

Good drinks, our waitress was nice and Gabriel Giammaria was the live singer, he had a fantastic voice and his set was really great.

Came here for lunch with my cycling crew this past weekend and was VERY PLEASED As soon as I walked into this place I immediately felt like I was in England I believe this pub is one of the oldest pubs in all of Ontario, and it definitely has that old, grungy yet very cozy feel.

Pictured below is the beef yorkshire pudding and it was absolutely delightful My friends ordered the sheppherds pie, the chicken soulvlaki, and the curry, and ALL of their meals looked very tasty (and they agreed it also tasted as good as it looked!).

I hope I have the pleasure of visiting this little gem of a place again in the near future ️

We love going to The Coach & Lantern! The staff is always so friendly and easy to talk to. The food is always delicious! We had fish & chips (for me) and Toad in a Hole for my boyfriend. He cooks for a living and said it was very very good. I can’t say I have ever been disappointed. The little patio is quaint and the inside could use a bit of sprucing up but is still a homey English Pub atmosphere. A little gem in our little town. ️

The food was good as usual however, we went for an early dinner (about 5: 30) and were not able to get a table inside. We sat and ate on the patio. It was a little too cold to be seated on the patio. Our food chilled quickly. It was still tasty, just cold. Our last patio visit of the year.

After a long hike within Hamilton's waterfall trails we sat down for a nice early diner. The place is cozy and the patio looks beautiful. The pub scenery inside takes you to typical England pubs and the staff is friendly and great with children. The food variety is really good and the children's menu is very complete and kids get ice cream with their meal. My kids loved it!

The beer is on point and the jug option makes it easier for groups.

Definitely a must-visit!

A perfect place to enjoy lunch with ol' friends and toast the Queen! It has the atmosphere of a true British pub and the food to enhance the experience. Sadly it was a rainy day as I love the little court for outside seating. The waitress was wonderful and the place was packed for lunch. Our food was fresh and tasty as we enjoyed salads and souvlaki (I know, it's a British pub and I'm kicking myself for not ordering the liver and onions.) It was a perfect luncheon to catch up with high school chums and commiserate about the passing of the Queen. A definite historical hidden gem in Ancaster. There is a cute shop to browse after your meal as well!

Great lunch with an old friend. I had the Club Sandwhich and side garden salad with a balsamic vinaigrete dressing. My friend had the Bruchetta and a coffee. Everything was yummy and our Server was great. I'd never been to the Coach and Lantern before, but I'd definitely like to go back. Lovely courtyard dining.

Always enjoy this place! Patio is so nice! Perch was great although a few more pieces would have been perfect! Service warm and friendly!

This place was a great little pub! The Service was excellent and fast! I only noticed that the Reuben didn't have sauerkraut on it, but otherwise the food was also excellent!

If you have never been to this restaurant good luck on trying to find it, it is literally in between two buildings.
Our waitress Amanda was lovely and the patio was small but cozy.
The cauliflower bites were the best I've ever had they were extremely crunchy and seasoned well, we also ordered a small pizza which was just average.
The inside is very nicely furnished it looks like an old fashioned pub, I will be going back when the weather gets cooler just sit inside.

Food quality, and portions were fantastic. The service was fast, friendly, and definitely worth it. I would definitely take my family there again. All 10 of us had a great time.

Everything’s good about the place.friendly servers, delicious food, nice beers, all accompanied by fab live music (Band Bliss was amazing).

This place is a typical British pub decked out with the usual ugly carpet and entirely too much wood paneling so the experience is very authentic:) The food is sooo friggin delicious, the service is fast and friendly and they have live music on most nights (sometimes indoors and sometimes on the outdoor patio). The music can be pretty loud and not conducive to chatting and it can be a bit chilly inside so bring a light sweater or pashmina. Pie of the day was steak and kidney and hubby cleaned his plate and I had the roast beef in the Yorkie pudding that was to die for. Great portions too! Hubby is British and he can never get enough of this place so we'll be back soon!

No disappointments here!

Awesome little hideaway alley for outdoor patio seating and cozy indoor tables. Good service and big portions. We had the black and blue steak salad, the nachos and a pitcher of sangria. It was perfect.

Amazing location, great patio, food is 10/10 with a great selection of drinks! Justine and Emma are great! Sam is an amazing cook! Thanks everyone!

As usual the atmosphere and staff were excellent. The service was great as usual. My son ordered the poutine to compare it with other restaurants. The fries were hot the gravy was a little watery and the cheese was not appealing as it was not melted. Looked just like mini marshmallows all over the dish. Not tasty at all. The Guinness was perfect and the soft drink too. I'll go again and try another dish

Went in for a lunch after hearing all the history behind this place! Was really cool! Concert tickets all on the walls money from all over the world. Just a cool place to check out. And I randomly got goosebumps multiple times
