COBS Bread Bakery

Been shopping at cobs for a few months now and I’m never let down by the service or product. Everytime I enter this shop I’m greeted by smiling faces and great service. A boy named Julian was very helpful and he even made me laugh a few times.

Cobs has been my daily go-to spot for years, and in addition to this neighborhood gem, I frequent a few other locations. However, this particular one exudes a unique warmth and kindness, from the owner, Tony, to the entire staff.

Applewood Village and Mineola are truly fortunate to have such a bakery in our midst, where bread, pastries, and bagels are consistently fresh and delectable. What sets this place apart is their admirable practice of donating all unsold products at the end of the day to those in need—a heartwarming gesture from this wonderful bakery.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Cobbs for faithfully serving our community, and I offer my heartfelt congratulations on reaching your fifth anniversary!

The guy named Tony at the register was literally the nicest man ever. Even my mom said it was the best customer service she’d seen:)

Cinnamon scone, apple cinnamon hot cross bun, and foccacia (I think sea salt?) were all delicious

Cobs bread and scones are always fresh and taste GREAT. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a new twist on an old favourite, ask Cole (Nicole) for some suggestions. You won't be disappointed

I am extremely disappointed that in these Covid times bakers think they are special and don’t have to wear a mask. He walked throughout the whole store from back to cash while I was there not even wearing a mask and not even pretend around his neck. Nothing nada zilch. Everything in there is baked and breathed on by him.
When I asked why is he not wearing a mask the young cashier said “but he is the baker”.
Is this not the law?

Like this place a lot. I am a every weekend customer. Love their sourdough, pane di casa and white vienna breads. Chocolate croissant and blueberry danish are good but a little pricey. I know it is a good quality product but still.almost $4 for a piece of danish or croissant?
The one issue I have is the service. Generally everyone is always super nice and helpful and patient but they are.slow. Sometimes extremely slow so you have to wait a lot until they slice your bread. I know it is Saturday or Sunday but c`mon!

I was here earlier today while running my errands. I went in and asked for 2 whole wheat THICK cut loaves if bread. I believe the woman I was dealing with was Dawn, head off sales. She confirmed THICK sliced, I said yes. She reached behind her and grabbed 2 loaves of pre cut bread. I asked if they were THICK, she said yes. I paid for my items and left. When I got home I was disappointed to find that the loafs were regular cut. I know that doesn’t sound like a big deal but the THICK cut fits into my dietary needs. I can have one full slice, not have to butcher two slices trying to get the weight I need. This is the second time this mistake has happened at this store. I called the store and was told that I could come in to exchange the loaves which is better than nothing except I had just gotten home after running errands all morning and I live over 20 minutes away. I was firmly told that all of the pre cut loaves are regular sliced. He spoke to me in a manner suggesting I should know better. How am I to know this when I’ve never been offered pre sliced? I double checked and confirmed with Dawn that I was getting what I asked for, trusting she was giving me the correct order. I’m at fault also for not triple checking my order. This is the second time I’ve been given the wrong order here only to find out when I get home. Lesson learned to better check when placing an order anywhere.

Awesome! Baked goods were fantastic and accompanied by super friendly and p patient service! So many choices!
