Coffee Oysters Champagne

What an amazing speakeasy! I came once but didn’t realize where the speakeasy was. This time, I asked for a champagne tour. There’s a whole story before getting in that makes it super fun. No pictures or filming allowed. We loved the drinks and ambiance. Drinks are super expensive though.

I was on a date and the server came over and asked to drink out of my dates $90 glass of congac. Disgusting. Will never return.

Soooooo, you can tell I don't do confrontation unless I feel its worth it.

But I brought a sweet little Mexican girl to show her the secrets of this place last Saturday night and the slightly overweight host took it upon herself to bully my little date and tell her "if you make a run to the entrance, you will be able to make it with the group. " The bully failed to realize that using the word "run" is passive aggressive and should not be used to a paying customer regardless of their size and nationality.

No issues. I will just stop bragging about this cool joint to everyone I meet. And the next time I am here, I will make sure to prepare myself to face off any bullies, even if I have had a couple of drinks before coming here.

Note to manager (s) : Hire nicer/open-minded staff to guide your customers?

The setting - if you know the password - is a very fun magic trick. A sort of faux Gatsby ambiance, the class undercut by the camp of it all. Friendly staff but the cocktails leave a lot to desired, especially at the pricepoint. Stick to the basics and you won't be let down.

0ne of the best places in Toronto to grab some amazingly crafted beverages. The bar manager Kyle and staff Alejandra, and candy connoisseur Andrew created an amazing experience and enjoyable cocktails. Would recommend. If you know, you know.

Cool Toronto speakeasy with nice cocktails. The “shows” are meh - wouldn’t recommend doing that but def a must do at least once in the city. Waitresses are kinda rude and it’s expensive so be ready for a $300 bill

We were at COC for the speakeasy - A Toi.
Can’t say enough great things about this hidden bar.
The hostess took us through a hidden wall, and did a brief intro about this bar’s etiquettes.
We were then greeted by another hostess past the hidden wall - amazing.
After optional coat check ($3 + tax) you are either taken to your table or told to walk in, as standing room only. Either is worth it!
We had to take the standing room option.

A Toi was amazing. It’s dark, cozy, lively but did not feel crammed. The music was great and everyone was having an amazing time. It was a mix of people - couples, small and large groups.

As a heads up, the drinks are expensive.
Each cocktail was retailed at an average of $20.
The bar staff are so busy, but provide great service.

We also opted for a hidden show. There were 2 options, but we picked brain scramble. This is a must do! The fee to get into one of these shows is a secret, hidden behind a painting and the fee is bubbles. Again pricey, but worth the experience.

You can’t go wrong with this place. The bar or the tables are all a fun hangout spot.

I don't usually write reviews, but the magic show inside of À Toi is amazing! I didn't catch the magician's name, but he entertained a group of us for about 30 min with his sleight of hand card tricks and had our full attention. It was worth the $30 entry fee (which comes with a glass of champagne) and made my whole night. Sure, the bar itself is great, but that magic show was mind blowing!

I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that I highly recommend the champagne tour.

Being my first time, I had no idea what to expect. It was certainly a lot more interesting than I’d anticipated.

Truly something you must experience for yourself. The espresso martini we had when we first got in the door was pretty delightful as well.

Well worth a visit for anyone who enjoys a little unexpected hidden fun.

Service was great. Champagne select was pretty good. Food was very mediocre and small portioned. Had the naked oysters, no ‘sand’ or shell pieces, but it was clearly rinsed so there was also no natural salt water… worst oysters i have ever had

Decent food and drink options. Very tight seating, and overly pricey. I'd give this place $$$$ rating on pricing. Is it worth that? I guess so.

The best restaurant downtown Toronto! Food is fantastic and the champagne room is a must see. Make reservations so you know you get a spot.

Met up with a friend and had a little treat at this hidden away place. Coffee Oyster Champagne.an innovative dining experience with a lovely subdued atmosphere.think of a 1930's avant-garde Parisienne interior. Graham and his regal crew treated us to our requested Negroni's.delicious shrimp.frites with black garlic aoili.and mushroom croquettes; these were the little morsel bombs of the meal.in that they were amazing.we ordered another plate.not huge portions but enough to share.clean bathrooms.you all would approve.

Disappointing service and cocktails. Warrants a potential return but will definitely not go out of my way.

This is a cool spot! Make sure to check out the oldest bottle of champagne they have!
Booths are cozy and private, the food menu is not the biggest, of course the champagne list is extensive and prices will vary with quality! I recommend this place for the service, the decor, and the experience overall.
Try to arrive as a group to ensure you get the best experience.

Went there with a group of 3 on a Friday night to start the evening. Staff were all friend and engaged and made us feel very welcomed. The atmosphere is very unapologetically feminine, but not snobby or pretentious.

The drinks selection was strong, featuring exactly what the name suggests (bubbles, and lots of it). You can get a solid cocktail in the mid-teens to twenty range, but the highlight of the evening was the Champagne Supernova priced at about 30. Outside of the standard offering you'd expect (champagne/ Prosecco/ Brut /cava), they also have interesting aged beers on the menu.

Solid oyster offering as well for a place not by the seaside, and other snacks are also available for those who are a bit seafood adverse.

Overall, a great and fun expirience. Would definitely return.

I love this place, We visit often for the drink choices! The food offering is also fresh with good flavour

We went there for a coffee and dessert. They had no desserts. Espresso was terrible, very bitter. Cappuccino was just ok. Espresso martini was just ok, definitely had better. The waitress was super nice and friendly. The place itself is very cute and classy, while leaving we realized they have another room with food, wish we knew upon arrival. Well, maybe next time.

The ambiance and staff of this speakeasy/restaurant are unparalleled. The oysters are fresh and juicy and the cocktails are originals and delicious. The champagne recommendation was also on point. One of the best outing I had in a while.

I won’t explain what I saw there but it was definitely amazing. Make sure you have your special request.

The most exceptional dining experience I have ever had in Toronto. I made last minute special requests for my reservation, and the COC/à Toi staff followed through efficiently, and made sure my guest and I were having the best time. I cannot explain how grateful I am for the service here (special thanks to Rebecca and Carly for being explosions of positive energy) and everyone else who helped make our night perfect.

I am still overwhelmed a day later at how well everyone took care of us. Thank you so much!

I love unique, classy and mysterious places and COC (I love this acronym too) is a place that epitomizes class and elegance. Shrouded in delicious mystery and welcoming at the same time. Full of fun surprises and faboulous events! Isabel is the mistress of mystery and retro class to host you. Food is fantastic as is the upscale drinks. If you are a lady of class or a refined gentleman, then put on your finest and enjoy the atmosphere and experience what COC offers.xoox till next time dahhhlings! Xoxo

A magical experience. A dream factory. A magical wonderland hidden below the King street, waiting for you to be lost in it.

Unique experience, a lot of fun. I just was reminded on social that I was there one year ago today. We loved it. Can’t wait for these restrictions to end so we can go back.

At first it felt like we had been transported into the 1920's with the sultry decor and a Great Gatsby vibe. It was all mysterious and we were looking forward to figuring out what"special surprise" (as described by the hostess) awaited us at the end of the night. We also received text messages asking us about our favourites drinks. Unfortunately all of this build up lead to nothing. There was no special surprise. Service was terrible! Our server was completely unapologetic. Not what I would expect after paying as much as we did. The restaurant is beautiful, and the concept is great, but the ending was completely lack lustre. I'd advise you go once, order a round of drinks, an appetizer to get the experience and save your money for a place that actually cares.

The idea is great, however the management and staff destroy the experience. Hard to feel satisfied with the place when employees notice you only when they want to comment that you sit on a “wrong” chair.

I am going to try and write a review without giving the essence of the place away. Keep your eyes open for the surprise element of the place. The champagne menu is overpriced but the ambience is amazing for birthdays or special occasions. The washrooms are interesting as well. Definitely a must try speakeasy

Extremely rude staff and lame atmosphere. I was very unimpressed with this place that I expected to be much nicer, more welcoming, and a better time.

The environment has a subtle exotic sensuality that you feel like should be in a movie. Everything from the menu (the baked oysters.and I THOUGHT I hated oysters) to the serving staff, hosts and entertainment.it's all mint quality. If you want an environment that lets you feel like you are taking a time out from reality, it's great place to go; especially if you are going as a group. (I believe that does require or at best should be done in the form of a reservation)

Me and my girlfriend loved this place! Big thanks to Michelle for being so awesome and helpful! Definitely will be back. One of the top 50 best restaurants in Canada and the lounge and drinks are to die for! Make sure to book your table well in advance if you want to dine

My friends and I were really excited to experience this gem of Toronto, but the staff treated us with complete disrespect. We were very disappointed and felt uncomfortable with the entire situation.

Extremely disappointed with my experience here despite initially being really excited to try this place out. The staff was immediately and blatantly condescending which did not generate a welcoming or fun atmosphere at all. I do hope others are able to enjoy their experience here, but neither I nor my friends will ever be returning.

Love this place! Amazing champagne selection. Oysters are fabulous. Service is outstanding. From the front of the house to the back, everything and everyone is spectacular. Brilliant concept. Every person I’ve brought here is amazed. Don’t forget to ask to see the champagne cellar. It’s the best in the city.

Awesome vibe at this spot and a great experience. The food is great, I tried several dishes along with several cocktails off their menu. Can't wait to come back here when I'm in the area. Just hope I can get a table as it gets busy as it should! Nice rule no photography during the tour!

This is by far my new favourite place to go for a night out! The entire experience is absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is classy and the cocktails are spectacular. The service is so great and every person there really goes out of their way to ensure you have a great night. I have brought a few friends and they were blown away but the experience! A true hidden gem in Toronto. Can’t wait to go back!

This is by far my favorite place in downtown TO, the whole concept, decoration, staff and the event that they organize are just great! The level of creativity of the people that came up with this restaurant is unbelievable, the food is really good too, the dark chocolate dessert taste like heaven. I hope they keep organizing more events and keep the same good staff (they are a big part of the fun)

Wow. A unique experience. Watching the bartender make my drink was entertainment. I have never seen a bartender take such pride is both the drink and the art (show) of preparing it. Overall a great environment - comfortable to have a conversation and also has a great energy.

What an awesome place! It’s a great café during the day (giving Starbucks a run for its money) and a fabulous champagne bar at night. Don’t miss out on this very sophisticated spot full of surprises.

I didn't really want to write a positive review in case this place becomes too popular.total hidden gem, but won't be for long. It's become my new favourite spot in the area. Overall amazing experience, great food and really great service, especially from Olivia and Raechel (in spite of the fact that she spells her own name wrong.) Definitely worth checking out, it's more than it appears from the outside.you won't be disappointed.

This is my new fave place! I came here on a Friday night with my girls and it was honestly the best night I've had in a very long time. I had no idea what to expect but one of my girls that brought us had come here before and knew the "secrets". It was such an amazing experience. The decor was so clean and sophisticated and the "secrets" were so neat and not tacky. The crowd was a bunch of chill people which just made the night even better. I loved all the staff members and they were cool enough to play along with my friend to help her trip us out with all the secrets. I have no idea which champagne I was drinking but each one we tried was great. I highly recommend going to this spot and I can't wait to bring newbies here and trip them out too!

I’ve been going to this place almost since its very beginning and I don’t plan on stopping it. Even though the original feeling of surprise is gone, the staff will make it so that your each visit is unique. Once you allow them to treat you as a member of their own family you will want to be coming back over and over again.
While you are at it……. Bring along someone new. Your friends will love you for that.
Something also has to be said about the food. Simply saying……. It’s delicious. Voila!

One of the best drink menus in the city! Love the champagne room experience, and being welcomed back each time like an insider. Service is excellent too, they make the effort to get to know you and for you to feel like you're special.

C. O. C.is a fresh addition to the restaurant scene in Toronto and it's cool alter ego, à toi, is even better. This is a fantastic place with super friendly staff, excellent drinks, great food.and most of all cool vibe. Always happy bring friends here and see the expressions on their faces. Always amazing!

I was slightly mislead by the name of the place. I would NOT recommend this place if you’re going for oysters. The oysters are very overpriced, not good quality and they dump all these sauces on them for some reason. My guess is to cover up the poor quality and add a few dollars for an “Ou Fancy”?

If you’re looking for A GOOD oyster experience walk a few blocks down the street to Rodney’s oyster house.

If you’re looking for a unique spot with amazing cocktails, brilliant staff and a hint of mystery look no further. The attention to detail is ever present in every inch of the space. If you’re looking for a bit more adventure don’t hesitant to ask the staff about the history of the space and what it has to offer ;) enjoy - I sure did.

I saw some critics giving bad comments this is why from my second account, and telling the obvious: it's a great place. Also, it is the best place for a first date because you can see what people are more interested, either its you or the environment so you can test people there.

Besides that the bar, the drinks, the food is amazing.

Critics don't like it because owners of "coffee oysters champagne" treat everybody in the same level. Obviously critics wanted to get treated above than anyone else. Sad.

COC is highy recommended to the people who can leave their cell phone for the night and have an actual fun.
