A phone call was made earlier this week to this store based on the number that was posted on this store’s website. A call was made for a meat product to know if it was sold in a case and if this store would deliver so we can buy from them. When the call was made a very mean grumpy miserable old man had answered the phone and in a very angry voice said “this is the meat department! You should be calling the main store line! ”

I told him this was the main number on the website that given. If this is not the number can you transfer me?

He said “ NO! ”

With that the man hung up on me.

How much does it take to press a button on a phone to transfer? Guess that is too much technology for that old guy to handle and way too rude!

Excellent place for meat and veggies and fruits. Wonderful small market, decent prices. Quality products from Italy. A neighborhood staple for many decades now.

I was running late and asked the butcher if they had NY Strip - steaks and he said they did. When I got there the entire staff was waiting for me because they were literally ready to close! Not only that, the steaks were great with an amazing price! Great service, great product and great price! Can’t wait to go back to explore their store for other produce!

One of the last and probably the best family run Italian grocery stores in Scarborough. They have a bit of everything including a fantastic butcher department.

A wide selection of excellent products from Italy. You'll find dry pastas, olive oils & balsamic vinegars, pastas, cheeses, candies, salami, canned sauce, and breads. I came here to buy some cheeses and a Christmas cake, panattone. Their prices are very reasonable.

5 stars for the meat! Specifically the beef. So far the quality has been incredible and miles ahead of metro and other shops you may normally go to for meat. The meat selection is large and is very fresh! I will be purchasing my steak here from now on. Highly recommend you try this place because it will become your regular. I live close by and only wish I came here sooner.
Lately the meat quality in various shops has been degrading and becoming not fresh. However, you can still go here for a fresh cut.
The produce isn't always the best in terms of quality/freshness/price. The selection and quality at farmboy is better for produce.

Just a great grocery store don't live in the area but miss their Italian sauguage so many varieties. Their deli department has Italian cheese and yes different types of suisse cheese. The produce department is just great very fresh. Also the store has a great wall of olive oil and vinegars of all types and price ranges great find for a small store.

Best cut meat at very good prices. Ask for Dominic he's very helpful specially for tips on bbq ribs lol. Best in Scarborough. Check it out!

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience.
I drove from Whitby. A 45 minutes drive because I a have been here before.
However today I experienced a poor attitude behind the deli counter, an employee insisting on cutting the ends of prosciutto. When I said I didn't want it, she said that's what it will be if I open a new one. Then another employee lowered her mask, blew her nose, put her gloves and mask back on. Without washing her hands. We were told we could not bring our buggy out with our groceries. Having spent close to $200.00, we had several bags, then a young man came after us to take it back. Very impatiently so that we could barely take the groceries out.
I also found the store messy and not very clean.
Overall, a very disappointing shopping trip which I made to buy Italian products. There are many others the same distance from my home. And thats where I will be going.

Been coming here on and off for over 15 years. Always a pleasent experience. The staff are friendly and helpful, checkout is fast and efficient. Great selection of authentic Italian groceries. Price is very reasonable.

This is a tiny, but impressively stocked store, especially if you're looking for Italian treats! The deli and butcher counters are excellent quality and the fruits and vegetables are an astounding variety for the space. The prices are beyond reasonable and I'll be back for sure. I picked up everything I needed for six people to have incredible sandwiches for about $25 including massive bakery fresh kaiser rolls, about 1kg of roast beef and mortadella, and some sliced havarti. Staff were knowledgeable and cheerful.

Great service as always! Teamwork was awesome as they had limited numbers of people in the store. Fresh produce and clean clean clean!

Been going to colangelo's for many many years my mother used to go there the family is amazing always there to help kind and generous you don't see too many family run business like this one I used to go more often I live further away now but I still love going there the food is amazing the vegetables are fresh the meat you can't find it better thank you again colangelo's for always being there for me

I love shopping there. They have a great selection of meats, cheeses, fresh vegetables, groceries and fresh bread.

This business has lost my trust today. They sold me rotten chicken legs. When I brought the legs back to them, they did not apologize, but as a defense came up with an explanation that they cannot smell the rotten smell because of the masks. Doesn't that sound dumb? It turns out that now they can sell a rotten product and not bear any responsibility? The manager showed me an attitude of insolence and rudeness, while insisting that I never come to them again. This business definitely needs to be investigated.

How do you describe a forgotten gem? In my youth, my parents shopped here and the place is as wonderful today as it was then.

We lived in the neighborhood back then. Although it's a bit of a drive for me to shop at Colangelo's it is definitely worth the extra effort.

The produce is fantastic! The meats are fresh and cut perfectly. The deli is complete.

Typical Italian supermarket. Smaller more personal store. Well equipped with butchers, cheese and deli counter. Fruits and veggies and near anything else you can think of.

A true Mediterranean grocery store and a lot more. Experienced, polite and knowledgeable staff.

Really clean and the produce is A+! Bit pricier than other groceries in the area but the quality is worth it. The pasta aisle is great, you'll see shapes you've never seen anywhere else.

Good place but.
I shopped there yesterday, I wanted celery. A Lady was there already and she methodically picked up each stick of celery, felt it, returned it to the display. This idiot handled every single piece on display. I realize the store do their best but I do hope in future they keep an eye on their fresh produce and curtail this kind of bad behaviour. Especially this day and age

We just recently bought a bushel of peppers from Colangelo’s and underneath the beautiful red peppers were 91 green peppers. I did try to return them to be told that they couldn’t do anything for me. This is how it is delivered from the farm. How deceitful to the consumer. I have always enjoyed shopping here but I will definitely think twice about it! Shame on you Colangelo’s and OBEID farms for having the Audacity to deceive your customers!

I have been shopping here for 28 years! It is so nice to be able to buy authentic products from Italy here - the deli and meat department are unreal and I am never disappointed.

Your service was excellent and I'm dying to try out your food for the first time. You come.highly recommended!

Love shopping at this store. Everytime I visit one of my married children I bring them a bunch of goodies from this store.

as of today me and all my family and friends we will stop shopping her for good.
The reason today we were over there getting some cold cuts and the cheese was not covert face down we asked the lady to throw the first slice out because for what's going on with covid the Filipino lady (NO MASK) working at Deli start yelling very unprofessionally to my wife that we have to take the first piece thats is not a customer service at all we ask to see the manager and he was backing up the lady not the customer
AND THEY NOT FOLLOWING HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR COVID 19 AND i WILL REPORT TO MINISTRY OF HEALTH.

They have a variety of cheese and meats for a good price. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Every time I visited until now I have had a lot of good recommendations for different occasions. Not too busy in the evenings during the week.

Mainly Italian foods. Some interesting stuff. Lots of different breads, cheese and meats. Price wise not for the faint hearted though some common items very reasonably priced.

Small business, great and copious choices of typical italian things like italian style bread, olive oil, salami, prosciutto, cheese, and all the produce was very fresh. Excellent choices of raw meat like beef rabbit pork, etc. Great prices, I will surely add this place to my rotation of groceries that I visit weekly. It wasn't very busy at 11am but it got very busy at around 12 30 on a weekday.
The service is very good, everyone there is so nice. One must support great small businesses like this one.
