Great area to walk however I came here once with my dog and he had 6 ticks on him by the end of the walk despite staying on the path.
20 March 2023 11:22
It's probably nicer in warmer weather, but I was prepared with my snow pants. One part was almost impassable because of the water and ice, but I managed to get through by treading carefully.

Definitely my favourite place to go. It’s starting with a beautiful forest while you walk-in further it’s changed to a pond and pine trees. It’s so much beauty in that trail, I’ve been going a lot!

Great maple festival! Cool games and good vendors!
Lady who painted faces was the best!

Beautiful trail however I came across a woman riding her horse who was upset about my dog 20 yards away from her. As we were walking into the trail she comes galloping towards us threatening us with her horse saying “does your dog really want to take in a 1k pound horse? ” I’m not sure if or why someone is allowed to ride a horse through a trail with children and dogs everywhere. I hope the staff is aware of this woman and how she antagonized us by coming TOWARDS us when the direction she was trying to go was in the opposite direction. She clearly has issues but I think the staff should be aware of her actions.

Went up for the day for a club picnic. Had a wonderful day. Easy to get to. No wait time as club handled the entrance. Beautiful place to see. Enjoyed my day!

Pretty much exactly as expected. Nice forest, clean, deer present. Fairly large forest and large fields where one can picnick or hang out. They have a climbing structure deeper into the forest, I believe it's only run in summer though.

One of the best low key trail outside Bolton. Not many people know about it so you can enjoy your hike/walk on any day. Though the gates close at 4.30 you can still park right outside the gates and walk right to the trails.

Parking:

There are two parking spots. Outside gates and inside the gates until 4.30 pm (I believe). I suggest you park inside as you can go further in if you get tired.

Trails:

Trails are marked and directions are pretty neat. There are points where you are walking directly under sun and it becomes bothersome.

Area is fairly clean. Luckily, I did not see any garbage around that people tend to leave.

There is an outdoor activity area, information center and several benches near the inside parking spot.

Pros:
You can hear birds and leaves. So quiet n peaceful.
Well maintained.
Different levels of hiking.

Beautiful light hiking trail in the pine woods. You can see the frozen lake and indulge in the silent forest. A loop about 6km, mostly flat, and you could shorten the hike with the trail connects. Takes around 1-2hours if you walk slow. Good for all ages.

Extraordinary rural, stunning & quaint with trails lined with cedars, gentle slopes and in the middle of the forest a incredibly well maintained outdoor rink! The pond area has become a forest ice rink adventure with picnics tables available & wood burning fire pits! The King staff mentioned, they were hoping more skaters would take advantage of this pond, turned rink, as numbers have been very low (9 skaters the other day). Varied hikes throughout the conservation area with well marked trails & blazes. Ideal for trail running but scattered ice patches on the mix terrain. Gates are open 8: 30-4: 30 with ample free parking either at designated parking locations and/or along road side just outside the gates. No amenities open so bring your back pack, icers or skates! Had poles with me but not needed. The drive to the conservation is equally stunning & reminiscent of cottage country. Roads into park can be somewhat challenging with icy patches and narrow turns- drive with caution as cross country skiers share the roadways! Happy trails!

The trails were amazing, they are wide and smooth. Any trees that had fallen were cleared. Oh and the bugs were not bad!

Update: 12/31/2021. Getting a last walk in for 2021. Trails are a little slippery but in good shape wear some spikes and you are golden.

Cold Creek is a nice place to spend about half a day. There were people barbecuing as well so you can spend the entire day if you plan to as well. The walk on the trails are nice. Clear cut path and nice places to take pictures as well. The bog board walk is unfortunately closed due to trees falling on it and destroying parts of it. The whole conservation area constitutes about 6 km of marked scenic nature trails for any beginner or seasoned hiker. A nice place to spend with your loved ones. I would wear good shoes as part of the trail consists of mud as well.

I love coming to this place at all different times of the year. My son and I come here mushroom hunting in October it’s beautiful in the winter. It’s a different adventure every time we come.
17 November 2021 22:41
Looks like a clean and well maintained park. I stop here when cycling to get water from the picnic pavilion. There's so much pressure you can fill a bottle in 0.1 seconds! Keep that in mind if you're doing big group rides. And the water quality and taste is superb. I plan to return for cross country skiing in the winter.
16 November 2021 16:55
This is an excellent conservation area. It's very diverse. Some areas are forests, other are meadows. There's even a pond. The trail is about 6km. It's well worth a trip.

Great trails, well cared for. Underappreciated as there are never many people there, which is nice if you want some privacy and quiet walking.
01 October 2021 21:12
It has a good long hiking trail with good topography to look at and a variety of small animal and insect life. The Tick warning took me out of the experience slightly.
13 September 2021 6:14
I’ve came here many times for hiking and most of the time it’s awesome. The only thing I don’t like about coming here is the amount of mosquitos but it’s generally nobody’s fault. I would recommend coming in the fall instead of summer since the temperatures are easier so stand and the view is really pretty too!
08 September 2021 4:56
Conservation area full of lovely summer and fall trails. Just that there are insect and mosquito risk during August. We experienced lovely summer like today, but the family with children got frustrated due to mosquitoes on the trails. Watch out for warning signs for ticks on some of the trails that to be avoided.
10 August 2021 21:23
Wonderful place with multiple types of trails in one place. Amazing views, nice picnic area near the parking. Good place to visit with family and friends.

The trails were amazing, they are wide and smooth. Any trees that had fallen were cleared. Oh and the bugs were not bad!
22 July 2021 17:30
Plenty of tree cover on hot day and you can walk for a good while got my 10000 + steps In here easily.definitely worth a look see
30 May 2021 6:41
You can park your car on the side of the road, look for the parking signs! I've been to a lot of trails in Ontario and this is the only place that I've seen that has a spot for hiking sticks! This is honestly a beautiful family friendly place for a nice stroll/hike! Each trail has its own uniqueness making it feel like a different adventure on each of them! The boardwalk trail was closed when I went but everything else was open! Definitely looking forward to coming back here when all the foliage is up!
12 April 2021 12:29
Wonderful place to go for a hike. Nice variety of dense and open spaces, and plenty of different lengths of loops to get the most out of your visit.
Beautiful scenery from start to finish.
23 March 2021 3:53
Loved the place. We rented out cross country skiing equipment and enjoyed it quite a lot! Only problem was that the trails weren’t marked properly and we had trouble finding the trail entrances.
21 February 2021 11:22
Awesome landscape- hiked many times with my dogs during Summer 2018. Now just went cross country skiing and was gorgeous. Staff very helpful also.
12 February 2021 7:06
Absolute beauty. Amazing place with short and long distance trail. It may require 2 hours to complete outside trail which is about 6 km long. But, there is an option to change the trail in between.
21 January 2021 13:09
A good hiking place, suitable for all seasons. It can be a dog walk alone, or a small group activity with friends or family. There are various scenery in the park, including pine forest, maple forest, open land, boardwalk over creeks and one small pond. Most of the trail are easy, and some sections are slightly hilly.they are all clearly marked, suitable for people who don't have much experience of hiking to arrange a weekend day-hiking. Only about half an hour from Toronto.
30 October 2020 21:45
Great hiking trails! Parked our car outside the gate as they close at 4: 30 pm. Which allowed us to still enjoy the area in a quick 1 hour hike!
29 October 2019 3:03
A huge nature trail with lots of places to go. There's a lot of signs posted everywhere regarding ticks so if you are worried about getting tick bites you should be extra careful when you go and apply bug spray. But overall it's a nice place to visit and it's really quiet
27 October 2019 4:24
Nice open green space. There are also trails to walk and real washrooms (not an outhouse). I was there for an event so the washrooms were open, I am not sure if they are open to the general public who are just there for a walk.
14 October 2019 19:59
I remember having a good time here; walking through the beautiful flower meadow, the lush forest, the flat farmland, then onto the road of apple trees. I love Canada and I love this land.
12 October 2019 6:07
Very nice trails and well kept. Honey bee boxes, high rope courses, picnic pavillion all make it interesting.
13 September 2019 23:40
Mid August walks BRING BUG SPRAY! We decided to take a sunday walk and it turned iut to be a nightmare. The bugs were insane. The trails were nice. Things were clean.
08 August 2019 3:40
We were eaten alive by mosquitoes while hiking. We had to run out of the forested area and onto the road to save ourselves. I am covered in bites, and they have swollen so much. I don't recommend hiking here during the summer unless you don't mind the mosquitoes. If you don't mind mosquitoes, a hike here may change your mind!
29 June 2019 23:02
I visited here with my granddaughter for Maple Syrup Festival. The event exceeded our expectations. Everything about it was wonderfully orchestrated. Pancake breakfast was delicious 5.00 pp.
The hike to see how trees are tapped was great, the lady who lead the hike is so knowledgeable, I learned a lot on the walk.
Free ski, and lots of places to explore. Loved every minute we were there. I suggest to familys get out next year, you will love it.
07 June 2019 20:56
Nice place to enjoy nature and peaceful moments in your life. Well maintained by the authorities.
07 June 2019 6:42
Went here last weekend, it was beautiful and very peaceful, albeit quite muddy. Perhaps we just hiked the wrong trail but we only saw a small stream, no creek was observed. Will be going back to search for the majestic creek we envisioned.
13 April 2019 10:10
I've been to this park a few times. Your experience may differ with the season. In Summer the mosquitoes are bad enough to send you running from the park. Seriously. I prefer it for Winter skiing and hiking. There are maps along the trail route, but it can be confusing. A printed map or access to a.pdf of the trails is highly recommended. Park has a pond and extensive wooded areas. Enjoy!
12 April 2019 14:08
Beautiful conservation area for snowshoes and cross country ski. Look for Family day special and come early
26 January 2019 12:55
Love hiking here. Lots of different trails. If you want a long hike do the outside perimeter. Not to busy
15 January 2019 21:20
I've been here many times and enjoyed a looped hike using the boardwalk. This time (October 6,2018) the boardwalk was closed due to extreme damages. It seems like the trails were re-routed, but the posted maps weren't changed. It took a bit of exploring, but we made it back to our cars at the entrance gate.
28 October 2018 9:29
One of the best conservation areas near the GTA, in my opinion. Plenty of trails, natural education and boardwalk (currently under repair) for your peruse.
05 September 2018 21:05
My favorite trial. So many options and scenery. You can have a short trail or go for a long one. Around 7km all around.
28 August 2018 21:00
Really beautiful area. Staff are very helpful. We went in a large group and they were all very accommodating and it was a great time.
