After all these bad reviews, I was not looking forward to calling CNO. Today, I waited online and left a call back number. I spoke to Tasha and she was very professional and pleasant, so this 5 star is for Tasha. Thank you for doing your job with joy.

We're headed back into covid season, need healthcare professionals asap and people are trying to get thier nurses licence and this place is a solid barrier to you getting started.
This is another reason why there is staffing issues in this province. Because of the rediculous, slow application process with trying to submit basic documents over and over again. Like a birth certificate. They are using this archaic email process with this licence system when they could use simple technology to submit everything to your account portal instead of multiple email accounts.
Then you call to ask what's taking so long to process your licence application after waiting on hold for 30 min at a time and they say we didn't get XYZ. You report with evidence that you sent that documentation to the email address that is noted in the application instructions. They say oh well sorry, try to send it to this address instead.
All this gameplay causes weeks of delays in doing a simple licence application.

Instead of making excuses get on board with today's technology and update the process to streamline it like any other professional agency does. Look at thier rating and the repeat issues in the reviews. They clearly don't care much to address the root cause of issues people are reporting. Why don't you hire an IT person to take care of this and Invest some of the excessive fees you charge in licencing on streamlining the licensing process. I suggest people start calling thier MP's about these ongoing issues. Change needs to come from the top down and it won't change until these issues are highlighted with the goverment.

CNO take long time as well as we have to pay all the time for renew account. Canada need more nurse than they need to do fast process, free renew account another proper process. By that time, we get licensed, we loose our skill because we are refreshing same information without practicing.

I got a job offer in August and was supposed to get the CNO to complete a registration verification form. I am a RN since 1989 so I thought this would be a simple process. More than a month later they still haven't completed this request and are unwilling to say when they. Really bad customer service processes.

The organization intended to modernize their processes, but further work is required. The organization's present rigorous process cannot keep up with the scarcity and turnover of nurses.

Internationally educated nurses face severe discrimination at the hands of the organization. Unfortunately, there needs to be a rearrangement and the reappointment of people who can execute the job. Protecting the public as their mandate is a good front for this organization to get away from inefficient processes that stymie nurses' careers. I challenge the organization to deliver their plan publicly and be more transparent.

Please get your employees morning coffee because they all sound like their half awake. I was speaking to one employee and she was only answering yes or no like no other input or information. If you hate your job so much just leave.

So slow to license. There is not enough resources given to fix our nursing shortage. It makes over a month to move from another province. Unacceptable and a true failure to the citizens of Ontario. Patients have poorer care and less nurses because of the unnecessary delay and forms. Will do everything I can to never nurse here again.

Very rude employee. Spoke to a Sharon or Sharyn a few minutes ago. This person has no petience and a terrible CSR to be working on this kind of field. It was like I bothered her for calling. I am not surprised with the very poor reviews. If there was an option for zero, I’m sure CNO got 0 not 1.8. It’s because you are employing people with no quality skills to work in this field.

You don't deserve the one star, you don't care how nurses feel, u just take the license renewal fee each year, you don't show support over the phone, if you even answer the phones. During the pandemic no support, you could have been showing your support by giving nurses a break with fees even for one year or cut fees in half during the pandemic, the public showed their support and thanks where were you? Instead you decide not to increase the fees for now of course and geez so thankful to you for it, I am so glad to be done with the CNO, no more heavy fees to pay to line your pockets, I asked so many times why an rpn even pays the same as an rn but never got answers, it shows the greed of the CNO. I feel sorry for newer grads.

I indicated to the college I did NOT want my personal information released and they did to an insurance company that sends me emails and home mail monthly.

This review mainly goes for the Nurses Health Program, which is an outsourced branch of CNO for nurses who need/ reached out for mental health support. As I can’t find anywhere to rate that program (which should, of itself, speak VOLUMES to how terrible that program is), I will just leave the rating here. As I don’t wish to stir the pot or risk trouble for my own license, I will only suggest that individuals reach out to anyone with experience with the Nurses Health Program BEFORE they submit their information or request for support to this program! They have given out countless amounts of incorrect information which has cost more than a few nurses their nursing license! It is not an evidence based program (which they advertise to be), nor is it run by anyone qualified to provide mental health support and guidance. Be incredibly cautious if you find yourself needing this service!

Very weak, toxic and, questionable organization. Not worth the annual registration fee that nurses pay. Registration fee should be $50 instead of $300.

2 years since I resigned from my membership to the College of Nurses of Ontario & I still don't regret my decision. I tried & almost succeeded in committing suicide because of your organization. I was done being a pawn & you don't get to control this drunk, incapacitated Indian no more.

Other nurses told me that CNO are quiet slow. It seemed they are very fast when I called them and when they updated my profile.

Having to wait possibly months as a new grad to obtain a license is absolutely unacceptable! I am very disappointed with the college.

I am an IEN and trying to get license from last 3 years, now everything is done from my side but safe Practice is expired, for that I completed my 140 hours already under SPEP but CNO said we can’t accept that because of some timeframe issues, i passed my RN through New York on 3rd May and started my SPEP on 7th May still they are saying that I wasn’t eligible that time.they accept my documents late, its not my problem but they are making me responsible for that. It is really frustrating, i am so depressed and disappointed from CNO now. They have tons of requirements to get license but other nursing boards just check our previous license and check our NCLEX passing results to give license. I just got my New York license in 6 months starting from application process. I am trying to reach SPEP now but no response. I am so disappointed from them, they need to make changes in their system. I wanted to give -ve stars but option wasn’t available.

I wish I can deduct stars from what rating they have right now. I thought rogers customer service was the worst. I was very wrong. Funny how people in their customer service was hired to speak with nurses who were all burnt out and always have their licenses on the line and they were worst than a demanding, out of the line family member. No empathy. Different information from different staff. No compassion. You can hear from their voices that they have more important things to deal with than you and just want to end the call even before it started. I don't even understand what the fee that we are paying are for. This is a nightmare.

Worst service of my life.quite literally almost made faint on the phone due to stress.

I was in a great distress regarding my membership due to a misunderstanding and the agent on the phone spoke in harsh non empathetic tone (as if judging!) not making the situation any better.

Felt as though she was trying to end the call as soon as possible rather then help me. Who else am I supposed to turn to for help? I am disappointed in this college.

Very bad service. I have one question if you don’t have time and manners to communicate then why you work in cno. If your staff Alwys busy to answer the calls then why you don’t hire more staff to respond emails and phone calls quickly worst worst worst service. Out of 10 I gave. 0 rating to cno. They seem to be have no spine. They are sending me an email after making me wait for 8 months that it will take more minimum of 6-9 months to generate a report. Unless there is a change in your education. Wow so basically you are forcing me to study in your colleges even after I am a US RN. You people are just a money making unit. Canadians your nursing boards do not care for hard work and experience but only to someone who has been paying basically a bribe. You cannot question them, as you have to follow rules. Wow, I though common sense prevails but not on these boards. Who are these dumb people sitting in CNO?

I had an awful experience with a nurse practitioner, she complained about her job saying she was very stressed and overworked and how dare I waste her time with my issues, she said I choose to come in with symptoms every spring, without any blood work she lowered my thyroid meds.her name Sherri Devereaux she was abusive and angry, never ever wanted to make an appointment with her again. I have reoccurring symptoms from a traumatic brain injury, an accident that involved multiple concussions, she said I shouldn't still be getting those symptoms, she just dismissed my illness.so very awful and unprofessional. I complain to my physician and she covered up the issue. I don't want this to happen top anyone else. Now with even more dissatisfactions with this team I did need to share this experience.

Very bad institution, need to wait 18 or more months to review just one document. There are many nurses who are just waiting for their approval and CNO is just taking casual about all these peoples time

The CNO is engaged in open discriminatory practices against a minority of its members by preventing them from working at all during the pendemic. So much so that a section of CNO members have no choice but to consider legal claims against the association. Stay tuned CNO!

Have been waiting 3 months now for my license to be verified, with no updates other than it being processed and they cannot give an estimated length of time. I have a job offer in an under-served community. Backwards, unnecessary bureaucracy that create significant barriers for the employment of nurses in Canada when nurses are needed more than ever.
