Comfort Inn

So I’m currently in night two here. My room is infested with earwigs. One in the bed on night one and one in the bathroom on night two. Staff are great but clearly ownership/management doesn’t care about general cleanliness. Will update if/when more earwigs appear.

People need to stop accepting this hotel and boycott it. Look at the reviews. Bed bugs throughout. (Room 217)

Worse experience staying at hotel when we checked out we left a pair of clothing with a wallet in it and 800 dollars cash we called them telling them we forgot personally belongs and to not go into the room we'd be back to come get them once we got there the money was token and everything in the wallet was all over the place went to front desk to talk to someone about get my money back that was stolen out my wallet by one of the employees they said they couldn't do anything cause we had handed the key card in so anything in the room was free for all told them I'd be calling the police and reporting it and having the wallet finger printed and they said go a head and told me there's nothing they can do so I wouldn't stay at the hotel they are thefts and crocks

The room smelled funny upon entry, we couldn't describe the smell, we are both non-smokers, the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke, was woke up at 2 am by a group of guests congregated outside partying. Continental breakfast was the normal for any hotel.

Great place to spend the night if you're traveling from A to B and Oshawa is in the middle of the way. Very good breakfast to start the day, very comfortable bedrooms to rest at night!

Clean and affordable place to stay. Great customer service. I stayed here while waiting for a rental and it's been very pleasant. I made a mistake with booking when extending my stay and the hotel kindly honoured the amount I paid. Definitely recommend.

Air circulation for the room not working.
Tv not working.
No face cloths
No coffee maker in room
Counters and table tops not wiped down as many water glass rings.
Desk clerk tried to make repairs to the HVAVC but unable to fix.
Only one employee on duty.
Offered to compensate us then refused at check-out.
Very disappointing and the accommodations were not inexpensive.

The managers and the staff are very nice and very helpful here I would recommend everybody to go to this hotel The rooms are very clean very nice rooms and the breakfast is good and everything is nice and clean and organized thanks to the manager and the staff

Terrible. When I walked in the front doors, there was a young woman behind the counter who appeared to be gathering her things. I took her to be an employee of the hotel, but it looked as though she was preparing to leave. Perhaps her shift was over and someone else would be right with me. Her body language was curious though. She appeared exasperated. She seemed hesitant to leave, but also not at all interested in greeting her new guest. Ultimately, break time won out and she walked away. I was left standing there for 10 minutes. I even called the hotel while I was standing there, but the call went un-answered. Finally, she returned and began the check-in process. She commented that my room was pre-paid. I told her that was the only reason I didn't leave and go to the Best Western next door. She told me she was the only one there. I guess I found the only hotel in the world where one person handles the front counter. Good grief. Anyway, I finally got my keys. Only one worked, but I was traveling alone so this wasn't a big deal.
When I got in the room, I noticed the smell. I couldn't pinpoint it at first, but I soon realized it was a musty odor that was being masked by a stronger chlorine odor. Fortunately, my work & travel induced exhaustion allowed me to fall asleep in spite of the smell. When I woke up the next morning, I had a sore throat and raw sinuses, I'm sure due to the chlorine. I also discovered that the back wall of my room wasn't a wall, but a sliding glass door. Anyone could have pried that door open, or failing that, could have busted the glass. For the first time in my travels through Canada, I didn't feel safe. Also, the road noise was remarkable. Every car with load exhaust, every motorcycle, every truck was heard, loud and clear. And when it was time to check out, there were two young woman at the front desk. Imagine that. But neither one bothered to look up, much less greet me. I laid my keys on the counter and went on my way. $150 a night, and the room isn't worth half that. I was a Choice member, but not anymore. I'm now an IHG customer. On average, I'd say IHG is a little more expensive, but you get what you pay for.

Overall I had a pleasant stay. Room was clean towel and linens were clean also the complimentary breakfast was ok, nothing to sing about!
just a note though there should be more fruits with breakfast other than that I had no complaints

5 star rating due to a 5 star staff. Extremely attentive employees at this hotel. Very professional. Decent breakfast. Hotel is convenient off expressway. Rooms average, but very clean. I highly recommend for business travelers.

Good place to stay in nostalgic Oshawa. Some updates/renovations have surely been completed in the recent past. Check in was prompt, room was as expected, didn't try breakfast although the booths did look inviting. Be sure to lock up your belongings/car as there can be typical midnight wanderers around this area, police patrol often. Oshawa has a big issue with homeless. Thanks and see ya down the road.

My fiancé and I stayed here Friday night (April 28th) as we were attending the Lee Brice concert. This hotel was amazing! I had to make a last minute reservation as our last hotel we booked was very rude and disrespectful. When we went to check in, the front desk agent was beyond friendly, the hotel was clean, room was clean, everything kept us nicely, the breakfast was really good! A lot of parking as well. Only downfall is the bed was a little harder than what I like but other than that I absolutely love Comfort Inn and will ALWAYS recommend it to my friends and family before any other hotel establishment!

Their service was sensational. Joey the Manager and Megan at the front desk were exceptional, personable and went above and beyond their service requirements.

Weird review, but hear me out.

There's nothing that was egregiously wrong with our stay, but definitely enough little things that added up to make the stay less-optimal than it could have been.

A. 1) There was a used coffee pod in the coffee maker, c'mon.
A. 2) Vaccum job was, at best, teenager doing chores.
B) Fire alarm randomly beeped throughout the night. Not sure on the interval, very very annoying and I didn't have a great sleep because of it.
C) Breakfast had potential, but everything was cold. I would suggest only having one "hot" breakfast serving container and adding some small heating candles to keep it warm. And put some grippy feet on them, very hard to close.
D) Room had two office chairs for seating, neat.
E) Checkout was pretty hilarious as customer service goes. Zero ask of how the stay was, have a great day, nothing. Just you were in this room? Ok, you're good! Consider an industry standard approach to check-outs.

There's good elements of this hotel, such as their location, beds were decently comfy, and the breakfast lounge itself. But just too many negatives to push it to a 3 star.

First contact was with Joe at the front desk, extremely personable and well knowledged, signed me up for the rewards program, and had a free gift at the front desk, waiting for me when I arrived. The rooms are what I expect for the price point, this is definitely a working men’s hotel. Rooms were clean, HVAC was a little on the noisy side, tons of fresh towels, clean bathroom and fresh sheets.for the price, this will definitely be my go to for my days away. If I had to complain, the TVs could be updated to allow, casting as the world is moving to streaming services as opposed to plain cable. But that’s about my only complaint.

Some rooms do not have microwave ovens. Although, the hotel is getting older, it is very well maintained. The rooms are spotless.

I need to start off by saying how I can not understand where any of the negative comments might be coming from. The last one I read was about poor internet. I have never had any issues with the Wi-Fi any of the many times I've stayed here. It's actually very impressively stable and strong on any device I've used.
It needs to be known that I have stayed at (I believe) all Comfort Inns between Pickering and Belleville, with multiple stays at each. This Oshawa location being at the top of the list. Honestly, I've never had a negative experience with any Choice Hotel for that matter.
For many reasons life has thrown at me, I've stayed at this location more times than I can count and the rooms are always clean, the staff are always helpful, friendly, professional and will go above and beyond when I wasn't expecting it! The breakfast is always fantastic (and so is the staff to not bad an eye at allowing me a replacement plate when I spilt mine, not even an internal smirk or laugh at my clumsiness.ty!). The value, peace of mind and relief I've felt knowing that this Hotel is so central to my life goings ons and let me tell you, all of that matters x a million when you hit hard times or just need a room for more "normal" reasons. Their rewards and loyalty program is top notch too! It's a shining example of the consumer/provider relationship actually. When you have every reason to be loyal, they reward you fairly. And they value your loyalty (including respect for them and their property) and genuinely make the whole thing effortless and stress free! Even though I know there have been times my situation wasn't the easiest for them, they maintain their high standards of customer service in every way. I have no reason to go anywhere else in the area. Thank you everyone at Comfort Inn Oshawa! Merry Christmas!

The hotel is in the industrial area.
One bed had such wrinkled sheets I wasn't sure if they were clean or used.
The curtains had holes and grease stains. The bathroom was the nicest part of the room.
Internet was fast and reliable but I did have to reconnect daily. No issues uploading or downloading.
Staff was very friendly.

Despite the smoke free status, the rooms smell of smoke. Nobody monitors the hallways, you can smell cigarette and weed smoke. The curtains had stains on them. Breakfast was barely ok. The location, while convenient to the 401 is deep on an industrial area close to the train tracks. Forget about going for a walk. There is ok shopping close by. The prices are excessive for a very basic and tired hotel.
