Owner is really rude. He argued with me about not wanting to give him my credit card number, expiry date and cvv. Dude if you have all the numbers you can basically steal my money!

Then to show me everyone does it, he proceeded to show me all his other guests credit card details on his laptop. I was shell shocked by his utter lack of respect for his guest's privacy. Do not give him your credit card information. It's not secure. Just pay with cash if you can't find another place.

I stayed at this place for a night. It seems the owner makes up fake stories in all his replies to one star reviews.

The owner is a bit too greedy, seems to prefer cash (probably to dodge taxes) and seems to make up fake stories blaming customers in all the one star reviews which all highlight the same general problems with this property i.e. Weird rules, cash preference, narrow staircase, squeaky floors and poor plumbing.

Rude and unprofessional behaviour, The Host was extremely bossy about her place and we didn't even spend 1 night there even after paying full price including parking and she refused to give us any money back. This place is a big scam.

Had a really great stay here, the room was really good, the kitchen was good and clean, perfect stay and walking distance to the Center of Toronto

Superbe logement bien situé. Près du centre-ville, de parcs, station de vélo, cafés et accomodations. Idéal pour quelques jours en ville sans avoir à payer le gros prix pour un hôtel. La cuisine permet de se faire à manger. On va revenir!

Considering the location, you can stay at a very reasonable price. The room and bathroom are clean, so there's nothing to worry about. It's located downtown so it's recommended for people traveling.

Exceeded my expectations.
The guesthouse is located just a couple of blocks from the city's heart still it is situated in the quiet residential street with little traffic. The host is highly considerate: it was rather cold in my room and Vivian has provided me with a portable heater for the rest of my stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking, and the house generally has exceeded my expectations. Friendly, cozy, like you are visiting your relatives.

J’y ai séjourné au mois de mars pour 3 nuits. J’ai été très bien accueillie. La chambre et les espaces communes étaient très propres.
Très bonne localisation j’ai pu faire pas mal de visites à pieds depuis la maison.

A super clean, comfortable, and safe house.perfect to spend a few days there, the people who received us were super kind and helped us feel safe on the trip. It is also located very close to the center so getting around is very easy, I recommend it infinitely

J'ai loué une chambre du 25/12/22 au 29/12/22. J'ai été très bien accueillie, l'hôte vérifie que vous arrivez bien à taper votre code pour rentrer. Elle vous fais une visite de l'ensemble pour expliquer les détails. Malgré le fait que je parle peu anglais avec l'hôte j'ai bien tout compris. L'option place de parking derrière la maison est agréable car cela est compliqué de se garer à Toronto.

We loved our time in Comfy House. The home-like touches such as blue walls made it wonderfully different from a hotel experience. The roof patio was so nice. The amenities were great, and coming and going, making food etc.was convenient. The host who helped us was friendly, and the owner called to make sure we had a nice stay.
Highly recommend Comfy House. If we come back to Toronto, we will book here again.

A budget friendly spot that was adequate to our needs. Clean rooms and amenities (shared kitchen and bathroom) with staff who were friendly and helpful. The location is also excellent with it only being a ~20 minute transit to all the major sightseeing and many great food options within walking distance.

While we were grateful for having such an affordable stay, there are few things holding this place back from being truly great. The bedding was scratchy and the pillows were a bit thin. There were no hand towels provided in the bathrooms for after washing your hands. It was also a very noisy place to stay. Somewhat unavoidable when other guests aren't considerate of others. However, the suite walls are thin and all the doors to suites were heavy and spring loaded to slam if not closed gently which resulted in constant slamming at all hours. It was very easy to overhear the conversations of occupants in nearby suites.

Finally we were told to not flush any toilet paper when using the toilets. Going back over older reviews, this appears to be an issue that goes back almost a year. This either means there's an ongoing issue that hasn't been properly addressed by the owner (plumber may need to snake or hydro-flush the pipe, or at worse the stack needs replacement), or it's some sort of ineffective preventive measure. Regardless, it's unacceptable to pass an issue over to the customer to navigate rather than deal with it head on.
It also would be nice if the outside patio was available for a casual hangout space so guests could relax somewhere outside their rooms, since time in the kitchen is supposed to be limited.

Overall, it's a clean cheap place to sleep which is what we needed, but if the above were resolved it could be really something special.

I stayed at the comfy guest house for a couple of days because I came to Toronto for a course that I had to attend at the nearby hospital.
I arrived and was greeted by the housekeeper, she showed me my room and we talked for about 30 minutes. She was super friendly and the place was very clean. She explained everything to me in detail which I appreciated and it helped me from running in to any issues later. I would have preferred to pay by credit card at check in (because I have to apply for some money back from my local hospital) but had to pay in cash.in the end it was not that big of a deal because there are many ATM's on the way from Union to the guest house and I got a paper providing proof of my payment. I liked the shower which was at a comfortable temperature fast and blasted you with water. The bed wasn't very sturdy but it was allright and the blankets were comfortable. I slept well duirng the days I stayed.
The location of the guest house is very convenient and everything in the downtown area is within walking distance (or take the subway for things a bit further).
There are lots of good restaurants nearby, even right across the street. The house owner also checked in with me if everything was okay for me. They had USB outlets for charging electronics in the room. I enjoyed my stay there very much and if I visit toronto again will definitely see if the room is available again at that time.

You cannot flush USED toilet paper in the SHARED bathroom.
Greedy and shameful on behalf of the owner for not having this fixed. You can see reviews from 9 months before this so clearly it’s not going to get sorted.

The room was clean and the location isn’t bad but when you’re showering and brushing your teeth there’s a bin full of other peoples drying poo 30cm away.

It’s a bit loud but it is a hostel after all so you can’t be mad at that.

Excellent experience' great for family. The owner is a very gentle man and loving to every guest stay there. During our stay the management of the hotel fully remained engaged with all the guest with full zeal, best of luck for the management

Nous avons dormi 3 nuits en famille à Comfy Guesthouse. Nous avions 2 petites chambres au rez de chaussée. Le principe de cet endroit, c'est en quelque sorte de "partager une maison" à Toronto. Le lieux est très bien entretenu et d'une propreté exceptionnelle. L'accueil est vraiment gentil, attentionné et très arrangeant par rapport notamment à la logistique d'arrivée et de départ. Il y a un certain nombre de règles à respecter pour le confort et la tranquillité de tous et c'est parfaitement compréhensible. La cuisine est bien équipée et permet de manger à 4.
L'emplacement est très bien pour visiter la ville, on peut rayonner à pied très facilement. Il y a de nombreux restaurants et commerces sur Parliament st juste à côté.
Nulle doute que si nous repassons à Toronto, nous reviendrons à Comfy Guesthouse.en anticipant mieux pour réserver la belle chambre Deluxe!

Wonderful clean place so close to all amenities in the heart of old cabbagetown 10 mins walk to Eaton Centre and the entertainment district

Always perfectly clean and safe. Close to amenities and public transport.
Always stay at Comfy Guest House when I go to Toronto. Will continue going there. It feels like home.

This guest house is a lovely place to stay! Mr. Tahir who is the owner of this establishment has been very kind and is full of hospitality. Each room is cleaned before you are allowed to check in, and if you feel uncomfortable and want to make sure sheets are clean, you can always ask for new sheets. In regards to the location, it is a lovely because it is literally a 10 to 15 minutes walk to the Eaton centre. I would recommend to anyone who wants to experience down town Toronto!

It was a terrible experience for me. When I got there, Tahir guided me to the room and asked me to sign the paper and make the payment. He was even unwilling to let me park (awful place to park at the backyard) or see the bathroom before making the payment. While my friend was filling up the form to do the payment, I was sitting on the bed and saw a black point on the sheet. I touched it to see what it was. Tahir started saying that it was inappropriate to do so. While I was explaining that I didn't mean anything and just wanted to make sure that it was alright, he started getting angry and said bad words. I was shocked by his rudeness and unprofessional behaviour. Something that I didn't expect to happen in Canada. It was a total nightmare and a terrible experience.
