Conestoga College Kitchener - Doon Campus

Really crowded, the school is getting increasingly crowded every year.
There is weak wifi with constant drops in connectivity.

Good luck finding parking, this is another issue to do with the over-crowdedness. It is impossible to find a spot on campus to sit and work quietly, the library is also really crowded and noisy.

Bathrooms are always filthy, but I always see maintenance working non-stop.so this must be due to dirty students, not the staff.

I am writing this review aimed towards the general services offered by the college.every program is different so I did not want to focus on my experience

This college has become a money grabbing diploma mill for international students looking for a backdoor to PR. The Canadian government and the college should be ashamed. I know several people who attend the college who say the quality of education has declined significantly and are looking to transfer elsewhere. Tibbits knows exactly what he's doing. These international students pay 5 times the rate of a Canadian and they are exploiting it while the students exploit the school for permanent residency.

The students don't have anywhere to live and they can't deal with the cost of living so they abuse the local food banks. More Canadians need to know what's going on.

Literally a foreign student (Punjabi Indians, specifically) diploma and citizenship mill. Depressing and alienating, ashamed my diplomas are both from here.

Terrible experience for my child who has a disability. I have never known somewhere that does not have an understanding of people who have extra needs like this. The repsonse I have had is, they have always done it the way they have. I have asked to have a meeting with the president several times but alas it has not happened. Clearly its about money and that's it.

The other day I had a young male student approach me on the street with his family asking if I knew of any rentals or places to live. You could really see the pain in their eyes. This school should be ashamed of themselves

Never would I recommend this school for PSW program! Being adults living in society where we need money to live but your placements aren’t paid. Working for free for weeks unable to pay for anything let alone gas to get to our job! Also bare minimum help to find work!

No diversity 90% Indian students, makes you feel kinda uncomfortable. School is really far if you live anywhere other than Kitchener/ Waterloo area. Services are ok, nice modern rec facility. Wouldn’t come here unless classes are online

This is a great school. A lot of prepared professors. The installations are in constant renovations, there are well equipped old classrooms and very wide and modern new classrooms as well. Widely connected by bus. Awesome reputation. Perks on public transport when you buy the semester package as well.

One of the worst college in Canada. They are the most ridiculous people I have ever experienced. They just want to make money, they have nothing to do with education. Professors don’t know how to teach, support or even study. Professors are rude too and treat students as their cash inflows.
Never gonna recommend anyone. I have so many examples for them. Even during COVID-19 they haven’t reduced the fees. They just kept charging us also for maintenance, electricity, other services which are closed. Really negligible and rude people.

It was amazing student journey with this college had amazing, cooperative, understanding professors. In 2020 when i was coming here to study i read so many reviews about the college they were not good but to be honest it is best college you can choose in South Western Ontario area. As an international student there are many questions in every student’s mind that is this college good for international students too? The answer is a big yes?
But there are always some cons with every thing so here are some cons of this college too.

1 - Can be Expensive for some international students
2 - The classes schedule which we can choose is almost 3-4 days every week
3 - A little bit strict towards the assignments and stuff

It's not worth it for technical courses to learn in Conestoga. If an international student is reading this and planning to pursue a Technical course, please go to another college. Conestoga doesn't give the option to switch section for Technical courses and provide every best choice for other courses like Business n management.

The post graduate program is nothing but a brilliant marketing strategy to lure undergraduate international students who wants higher education. The Applied Manufacturing Program will be a waste of your time and money. It is better to do a masters for a bit more money. You will be paying 35,000 for a post graduate certification that is worth nothing. The contents of the program is so poor I do not think you will be able to get exemption for any course if you decide to pursue a masters at Univerity. This is just to give you an idea of what the course is worth.
Conestoga is basically selling you piece of paper that allows you have your PGWP.
There is no local (Canadian) registered to do Conestoga Post Certificate Manufacturing Program although it is offered to both local and international students? Why do locals do not want to a post grad certificate at Conestoga? Go figure.
Maybe there are other good programs but the Applied Manufacturing Management is very poor.

I swear to God that Laura Vaughan just keep grading her students low scores as if the students didn’t know what exactly they were doing. I think the CEO should be investigating this issue.

Conestoga should offer like more health care programs for student who want to be working in a healthcare facility, in Kitchener Waterloo it is very limited health care programs.

If you want to get back to your typical Indian School days i.e, 10 A. M - 4 P. M school hours, daily assignments and examinations (Peculiarly ITBA course), you found yourself a perfect place.

Overpaid professors putting minimum effort into teaching outdated syllabi. International or not you are their sheep to fleece.

Is anyone here? One of my friend enrolled in a program and she got her visa, she submitted all the fees and costs but she is a month late since her classes start, now she has a visa but the college is not replying to her at all! Will they reply on time Or her visa will get expired while waiting for their revert? Worst service ever seen in my life, such a scam people they are seeming right now! Please anyone reply me here so that we can help her!

Trying to navigate their new garbage website and get a time table from them is like unlocking some scientific mystery. The people running the online garbage are absolute DOLTS! People don't get into trades to need a computer science course just to take the course!

Don't take nursing courses, teachers are rude and the faculty is just messed up. Too many useless elective courses at once and not enough teaching everything is online or just read the textbook. They just want you money for everything make sure you at least have 8-10 thousand dollars for the first year. Seems like they only care about money.

Conestoga has a good academic reputation, that's about it. Location is terrible, in the middle of nowhere with nothing around it. Overcrowded building with barely any seating areas. Not ideal for those who want to live "on campus" (residence is 15 minutes away).

College has more formalities than study. And study has formalities too. As Conestoga is growing their attitudes towards student is falling. Don't recommend any one go any other colleges that would be cheaper and best option. You will stay away from Conestoga worries. This is just money making company

Got ripped off by conestoga during the pandemic. The registrar Melanie refused to solve an issue and hid behindher union instead of being a public servant. The professor claudia gave me terrible financial and living advice just to get more government grants to atempt getting more public funding for a new program also hid behind teachers union to avoid accountability. And multiple other departments passed me on to other departments that won't do any problem solving after using predatory buisness practices to rip off me and many other students during the pandemic. Also don't take any pre-health/ pre-tech programs as the professors spend the whole program teaching you elementary school English and catch up international students so they don't rip off the international students at the domestic students expensise. FYI they charge $25000 dollars for international and $5000 for domestic so they don't care about domestic students because domestic students arent the reason teachers are on the sunshine list. Its Cronyism at its finest for a public service. No one can link me up with the dean so this management is pathetic. Oh and the faculty threatened a strike over $4000 worth of Marijuana/year during a pandemic after making most of us pay full price for low quality online classes with zero support. I'm a mature student this crippled my future and multiple people making over $100k/year just ignore it so they don't lose their upper class privileges.

Wait listed up until 1 week prior to starting class. Had only that time to pay half the tuition because you don’t receive schedule till it’s paid but OSAP tech was having issues and takes weeks for them to decide whether you’re covered so either miss up to a month of class or find thousands of dollars

Don't choose this college and one teacher is so rude and pathetic, she is so arrogant and the location of this college is too bad.lack of jobs around the college.

I was in the process of evaluating this college, sadly after reading some of these horrific reviews here, I have decided not to enroll here. Seems like a nightmare more than anything else. Hope the college takes into account their social media presence, and how badly they have rubbed off on some of their past alumni and students there. Your reviews matter. Hire a social media manager, fix your reviews, before you go down the pit!

I attended the PSW program and the program director is scary to talk to she always pursues to intimidate rather than listen. She treated me like I was nothing and before I could even finish my sentence she would begin with the intimidation, it seems like she enjoys having power over students and feels Entitled to speak down to them and verbally intimidate them. The whole program is extremely unorganized and the instructors are not approachable and also lose your project that you’ve worked so hard on and pretend like you never handed it in and will blame you for their lack of competence and unorganized way of managing your valuable work. I would never wish what I went through at this college on anyone at all. Stay away from this college because they will burn you out to the bone rather than actually communicate like professional personal. If you value your dignity then STAY AWAY because the faculty will go above and beyond to strip you of it. Which is very sad because they’re health care faculty but they sure lack the basic understanding of human interaction and respect. I don’t know why the whole staff especially the program director thinks she can intimidate students by getting political with her choice of words, since I’m a person of minority she probably assumed I don’t know what my rights are as a Canadian citizen, so much covert racism happened. I was verbally, emotionally and mentally abused by everyone that was Involved in the PSW program. Everyone in the class room had to figure placement and paper work related to it through each other because the faculty member in charge of that couldn’t even have that ready. Shame on them.

This school is an absolute joke. Nursing students do not do enough placement for entry to practice, and advising cannot even get it together enough to offer the required courses at appropriate times. This is a waste of money, and an absolute joke to the profession. I have NOOOO idea how this school is still accredited.
