Congee Queen - Mississauga(Heartland Town Centre)

This has to be my worst dining experience in Mississauga. The server with yellow hair had the worst attitude I had ever seen. When my friend pointed out that our food had dropped from the plate, the server simply repeated, "Okay, it dropped, " and then walked away without apology. I was seated close to the kitchen and witnessed some items falling from the plates carried by other servers. One server even dropped food on my jacket. Still no apology received. It was another server who wasn't responsible for the stain, kindly helped me clean it. Many thx to that lady. The worst part was I found hair in my food. I can pretend the first one might have been mine, but how about the second one? It almost became part of the tofu. Another female staff stepped in and resolved the issues. She said we wouldn't be charged for the meal and even offered to remake the dishes if we wanted. She kept saying sorry eventhough it was not her fault. Your food was delicious and I hope this can bring attention to your service attitude and food hygiene.

When my family and I went it was a Saturday and it was very busy. The food and service was excellent. No fortune cookie though

Been here many times. Server was great, food was delicious. However the cashier worked around 8: 30pm was rude. She didn’t know how to say thank you, and threw the money at you.

I’ve been here multiple times with my friends and it was our first time to be told how much tip we should have gave. We tipped $7 and the Lady who’s very rude told us that the minimum is 15% at any restaurant. I said we are just students and this is only tip we can give. She said” I dont care.it is MANDATORY to give tip at minimum 15%”. I ended up telling the Lady “sorry I cant add anymore to that”. Chezzz Just be glad we gave something cause not a lot of your customer is rich and can give at your set minimum tip.

Food is great. The place is noisy and the service is average. All of this makes it a pretty good Chinese restaurant.

Ordered the deep fried cod, fishy and not freshly cooked. Sat down at 9. Bill came @ 9: 30 automatically and requested to pay now because they close at 10pm. And they cleaned up the table with us still sitting and took our cups.didn't feel welcome at all. Will never go again

Hands down my favourite Chinese restaurant chain. They do it well. The tofu was not good and they offered me a different dish, no question asked. When we said we don’t want another dish they deducted it off my bill. They apologized and said anytime if the food is not up to their standards just let them know. No questions asked. I like the staff’s attitude and how they run their business

This place has a wide selection of Chinese foods from seafood to Chinese BBQ to stir fry, all the dishes are authentic to Asian roots and well flavored, and cooked to perfection. And of course you gotta try one of their wide selection of congees. The service is fast and attentive. We went during a busy Friday night dinner time and got our 9 dishes very quickly. There were plenty of waiters you can wave down and they were very attentive as well. The place had clean bathrooms and the tables were clean as well. The place is great for a large party or even a date. The ceiling has this artistic and decorative light fixture that adds well to the ambience of the place.

Whether you're familiar with Chinese dishes or not the menu here has plenty of pictures and you can't go wrong with any of the items that look good on the menu. We would and have come back again many times.

Bring cash! 15 precent off! The food here was great and the congee was even better! Great location however they are usually quite busy. We waited 10 minutes to be seated on a weekday during lunch time! The prices on the food were great and I strongly reccomend coming here! Lots of parking available and large portions to share with groups! I don't reccomend getting the drinks though, pretty expensive and not the best. The tea is awesome though!

Couldn't understand why it was extremely crowded on a Monday evening until.we started to eat.

You enter and see people waiting. So I saw a screen and reserved a waiting number to be notified on the cellphone. When placed, I went to toilet. It was so gross likely too much clients.

The good news: the food. How? I don't know how to explain.because the ingredients were fresh and cooking skills topnotch? The taste of every dishes were so unbelievable tasty.

When it entered the mouth, it felt so smooth, fresh and hot enough I could still taste it. And yes you may argue it looks greasy, but the traditionnal cantonese food is greasy from the start. If its not, then it is not canto.

Being lover of Chinese food, I I guarantee no other Chinese restaurant can come close for quality, taste, prices, COVID19 protocol, huge choices, very quick service may it be eat in or take out, and lots of parking.

We came in probably a little too close to closing time but everything was amazing and superrrr delicious and fresh tasting. The staff was really gracious and the service was super fast. The place was really nice, clean, and cozy. Will definitely be coming back for more!

My family orders from this place often, but we don’t see ourselves coming back here anymore. Today we placed a big order and specified that we wanted deep fried squid tentacles, but received the wrong item. We had clarified this with the receptionist multiple times. Deep fried dough fritters were also missing from our order. When we called in to bring this to their attention, we were met with a rude receptionist who was grossly in denial of her mistake. She hung up on us twice while we were trying to explain the situation. Eventually we got a hold of the manager who offered us credit for the wrong and missing items, but we are still extremely put off by this experience and feel reluctant to ever return to or recommend this location to anyone. Congee Queen, it would serve your business to correct the inexcusable customer service from your takeout receptionist. We have never encountered anyone who was so unpleasant, making what could have been a simple resolution into a huge headache and potential loss of business.

Impressive establishment able to churn out an extensive range of Cantonese food to a large crowd. Long lines waiting to bag a table speaks of the popularity of this place and its tasty and value for money cuisine. Definitely must try a porridge dish and the roast meats. Stir fry dishes are good too.

Food is average. Mississauga has yet to have any really good Chinese restaurants.
Service is not great. Got take out only to find that they missed a full dish I paid for.
Beef in black bean rice noodle dish was off. I question if ingredients are fresh.

Food is absolutely delicious. Ordered seafood rice, chicken, turnip, shrimp in rice noodles, noodles, and mushrooms. Every dish was full of flavour. Can’t wait to come back!

First time dining here and it won’t be the last.

The line up was very intimidating but they had a very efficient table reservation system and the massive crowd waiting for their tables was cleared in no time at all.

We ordered:

*Salt and Pepper Pork - tender, crispy and spicy but packed incredible layer of flavours. WHOA!

*Crispy Cantonese Chow Mein - crunchy, showered with light and savoury sauce but overflowing with seafood! OH YEAH!
*
Seafood and Egg Fried Rice - super smoky but a little greasy for me. Nevertheless, it was really good still.
*
Stir Fried Lobster in Hong Kong Style with Minced Pork - WOWZA and YUMZA!? This was our favourite amongst the 4 items.

Will definitely be back again!

Quality Cantonese food. Efficient and friendly services. My server was Joe and his service has exceeded my expectations! Had to even ask for his name so I could leave a review for him.

Food is SO delicious and the food came flying out. The foods are well flavoured and there are decent portions. The portions do vary for some reason though, so keep that in mind.
The Chinese donut with beef rice roll is fantastic! Another favourite is the general Taos.
Might’ve been an off day but the rice was super dry and unflavoured.

Service was quick. Only thing we noted was how sticky the floor was in the corner we were sitting. Plus the washrooms need some attention.

Otherwise great for big get together!

I should have given it a 1 star but I may over react.
The food was good but they should have shown pictures of their menu so their customers may know what they are ordering and the menu list was unreadable.
I came alone so the table for single person which was so isolated. It's better to come in a large group. And Fridays and weekend is peak hours, so expect many customers.
Lesson I learn on my visit, come in group during non-peak hours. And bring your reading glasses

This is what I like when it comes to Chinese food — huge portions for a decent price and amazing flavours. Bonus for the stunning interior, definitely a value add to the experience. I truly couldn’t get over the crab rice. I might’ve eaten way more than I should’ve!

I'm so disappointed in my last pick up order! The noodles in the Wonton NOODLE Soup was not the usual egg noodles, it was replaced by a thin flour noodle. The taste of the soup changed because of the noodles, and the texture of the noodles were pasty. Not at all like their usual recipe and I was not told of the change. I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known. The noodles are an important part of the dish, hence the name. By changing the noodles, the dish was no longer similar in taste and texture. I didn't enjoy the experience at all and I will think about ordering from Congee Queen again. It's a shame, they were definitely my favourite go-to Chinese restaurant.

I really enjoy this restaurant. They have excellent food and when you go with people who really know what they're ordering you get some really high quality and enjoyable eats. The price is less than other Chinese restaurants I've seen so all good.

Worst Congee Queen location I’ve ever been to. If I were you I would not go here and just go to another location. I brought my family here for dinner and the lady who took our order is really rude, overall their customer service is really bad. I’ve been to a lot of congee queens and even if they’re busy they are doing their best to serve us. This location is very disappointing. Lady keeps on demanding for a bigger tip and kept asking why I gave her that tip and wouldn’t let us go unless we give her tip again. They are not even taking the plates that are empty so they could give us space in our table because we ordered a lot. So disappointing.

Was offered 10% discount if paid in cash… (to help with whatever tax evasion scheme they got going on) …. Then demanded more tip because the lady said she gave me discount. Ain’t much of a discount if you’re expecting most of it back on top of the customary gratuity. Refused to leave the table until I tossed her a toonie. Should be ashamed of yourselves.

If you’re really that desperate don’t offer the 10% off and just keep discount amount when customers pay cash.

Congee Queen Heartland is my favourite spot in Mississauga for Cantonese food. I have come here for years - food is always hot and tasty, and the quality is quite consistent. Service is not particularly courteous, but at least efficient and not at all rude. The menu is also quite diverse; great for casual family meals.

My favourite dishes: E13 fried rice noodle with shrimp and scrambled egg sauce, CQ8 deep fried sea bass, K42 spice & pepper salt squid

Food is okay, nothing special. Food is well priced and portioned.
Place is still crowded, even with Covid restrictions.

Order by phone is terrible and a disaster! A lot of background noises and the lady getting our order could not get our order right even though i am literally shouting (which my neighbor probably thought i was fighting with someone). They should have a separate and quiet booth for taking in phone orders.

My two favorite dim sum places succumbed to the effects of covid so I was so happy to find this place! So delicious and large portions!

This is my goto place for Cantonese-Chinese food in Brampton/Mississauga. So much that I even catered half the food for my backyard, COVID wedding this past summer with them!
If you're coming for dinner, I would definitely recommend reservations - they fill up very quickly.
Their menu is very extensive, and most of the food is very well made. I've come here for fried rice/noodles, congee, and their rice with side dishes on numerous occasions, and the food has always been up to par. I have noticed that the portions are slightly smaller when you order takeout, but I'm assuming it's because they take the cost of containers and bags into account. Service here is generally very good, though you may have to get up from your seat to flag down a server at times.
My last time here, we ordered a fried noodle, a rice topped with runny egg and shrimp, sweet & sour fish, and salt & pepper porkchops for two people. Everything came to the table hot, fresh, and oh-so-delicious. The only dish I had an issue with was the rice, which I had asked to have changed to a fried rice base, that was missed completely by the server, so that was a little bland. Otherwise, everything was spot on, and we ended up taking the rest home for leftovers the next day.

We just been there today.we order 5 dishes and cost 69 before tax.the price is affordable and very delicious.the portion also quiet big.we cannot finish all of it and pack them home for dinner.our family like the restaurant.the service is also good and friendly.

One of the better restaurant in town. Prices have gone up significantly since the they've open at Heartland and it's ridiculously high.

Worse service today, before the pandemic it was awesome, the lady server forgot our yang chow rice its very easy to remember and she order another one witch is not our order the waiter is rude when we ask about the wrong order and no apology instead, the food is great but the service is poor after we drove for 3hrs just to dine at this restaurant craving for the great food that they serve before and this is all we got.

Big menu with classic Chinese food. I’ve been ordering here since it opened up a few years ago and never had any problems or complaints. I recommend their turnip patties, salt and pepper squid, and any of their congee. The food is always prepared fresh and quickly, both for dine in and take-out. It can get pretty busy and hectic on evenings though so reservations are recommended.

It has been a long time since I have been there and forgot the srving sizes.we ordered a lot of dishes without realizing that their serving portions are big.we really enjoyed it and took home a lot of doggy bags. If you haven't been there, give it a try.

Always busy! Expect a queue - whether for take out or dine in. It was VERY crowded when I went to get take out. A bit too close for comfort. However, the food is pretty consistent at this location. If ordering take out, use their app to get freebies or discounts!

Ordered assorted meat chow mein here today.the noodles were not crunchy.but when i ordered it in the location on dundas, their noodles were crunchy.quite disappointed with the not-crunchy noodles.esp when we drove 20 mins just to get it.

Placed an order for take out and asked for no onions in anything due to an allergy. Got home and majority of the dishes were filled with onions. Very disappointed. Won’t be ordering from this place again.

Love the congees here. They are also famous for the empress fried rice along with bbq pork and ducks. I've tried many Congee Queens across Toronto and Mississauga and this location is one of the bests. Service is fast and efficient and food is always fresh. Highly recommended!

Ordered satay beef rice, it was 85% rice, 10 pieces of beef and 6 pieces of pinapple, with a sprinkle of onion and green pepper. What can i say.ridiculous.

The pinapple sea food fried rice was the same mostly just rice

I had a great time eating at Congee Queen. Never really had Chinese food quiete like this before. I ordered the Kung Lobster that was absolutely delicious and the Duck with rice.

Both of these items were very flavorful and delicious. The Lobster with the seasoning and minced meat with onions tasted really good. The duck was fresh and tender. I can go on and on about these items but that wouldn't do it justice. You have to come in and try both these items out. Next I will just get the duck without the rice.

Food was ready quickly and came fresh. This restaraunt has alot of space so it's very roomy and can dine many people. I will be back to try out other items.

Errr I really wish I can give zero star. We’ve been going to this places for years and experience was okay. But today we ordered Cantonese chow mien and they forgot to put the toppings on top!
We literally got plain noddle - literally. No sauce no taste, nothing.

We live bit far from this location therefore we can’t go back and complaint.

Please please guys, if you order to go, please check the bags if you guys ordered from this place before leave the restaurant.

It’s hard to find decent Chinese food in Mississauga so Congee Queen is simply the easy choice to make. Convenient location and quality of food that will always deliver. However as most people are aware Congee Queen typically charges more than the average Chinese resto and the wait time is just unbearable. I do however recommend the set noodle menu, as you can customize a large bowl of soup noodle from soup base to noodle type and toppings. I find this to be far more reasonably priced than some of the more popular dishes that the restaurant offers. But then again I’m not sure if it’s best to goto Congee Queen solely to satisfy a noodle craving.

Came here a few times recently to order take out since can't dine in due to Pandemic.
First tried calling in, to place order with no luck (called 5 times). And when I got here they look busy, however there was only me and a lady in front of me but they kept us waiting, and I would say about a good 10 minutes, moreover they gave me wrong change. Things have change Service wise has gone down, But price wise has gone up alot.

Was at this Mississauga Congee Queen location a few times with no luck getting a table, so left. But this location has an incredibly large selection of food choices and this time got lucky. Ordered few items which are all well portioned and reasonably priced. Quality of the food is great as well, however I didn't like the set Lunch combo menu as the portions are a lot less and also had to add a dollar for an extra tea.
This is what you expect from this kind of Chinese restaurant. Food is fast, restaurant is loud, lot of selection, fairly priced, you'll be really full by the end of the meal. Overall very satisfied with the visit and was back here a few times, then on.
Sometimes there are reason why they have long waits, means the food is good.

*PLASTIC inside noodles. *. We ordered delivery today, and when I ate the noodles I had to spit out a sharp clear plastic piece. It matches the shape of the clear plastic lid where holes have been punched. Will not be ordering from here again due to this huge FOOD SAFETY RISK.

Great food and prices. Popular and crowded for a reason. Staff is always hustling. Food comes quickly. Portions are big. Seafood is fresh. Menu has many items. Recommended.

This spot never disappoints. They serve fantastic food for convenient pricing, there are no long waits even when the place is loaded.

I had a craving for classic BBQ pork with rice and some congee. Especially since Sam Woo sold their business.it is a daunting task to find a suitable replacement in Mississauga.

So I am happy that Congee Queen offers bbq options along with their signature dishes.

The BBQ pork is okay at best and not terribly memorable. Their BBQ is probably not that good. But hey, beggars cannot be choosy. The rice had some uncooked grains.sigh.but nonetheless, I was happy all in all.

The congee was good, it was tasty and thick instead of runny.

I have had dinner and lunch here before in the past many times. The food is always on point on taste and portions.

I ordered online this time and it was ready for pick up within 20 minutes. Pick up service is quick and efficient.

It is a very good restaurant to satisfy many of your Cantonese food cravings.
