Congee Queen(Yonge&Dundas)

The service was fast enough and the food was delicious.
Note: It gets very busy on weekends.

First time at CQ and it’s pretty damn good! We ordered a seafood chow mein, veggie spring rolls, shrimp rice rolls, shrimp wonton soup, mixed veggies and the famous fried turnip. Everything was delicious and tastes like the chinese seafood cuisines back in Hong Kong / Singapore. Fresh ingredients, the portions are massive and the price is definitely reasonable. Split between 3 pax, we paid about $32 per person and we couldn’t finish our food.

The service was really quick, orders were placed online and the location is pretty huge they have seats at the lower level as well! We did a walk in for 3 persons at 1pm on Mother’s Day weekend and waited barely 5 minutes. Such a treat, we’ll definitely be back!

Had a great experience dining in. The hostess Audrey was so friendly and accommodating for my group. There was a large selection of food and everything I ordered was delicious!

I’ve had plenty of stuff here at this point. Their congee is comforting like you’d want from congee, more savory than homemade ones I’ve had. All the congee toppings that I’ve had so far have been cooked well, so I think just go with what you think you’d enjoy. You can customize with vinegar and soy sauce but I find that it’s good on its own. I also had a claypot rice with what my friend described as a liver version of chinese sausage, which I found to be saltier and personally more enjoyable than the original. The pork ribs with the claypot rice were tender as well, and the rice was well cooked with the crunchy bottom you expect from a claypot rice. As an aside, I find that ordering one of the rice dishes and one of the main dishes was plenty to feed 2 people, and that dividing to like $20 for each of us for what we specifically ordered is pretty decent value for Toronto. Service wasn’t that attentive, but honestly I didn’t mind just cause I could still call someone over if I needed something. I consider Congee Queen to be my Mrs. Reliable for when I don’t know where to go eat cause I know they’ll be good. Not a 5/5 because it's Mrs. Reliable, but I wouldn't call it Mrs. Exceptional.

Good food, can order 4 dishes for 4 people to share and it fills everyone, even had leftovers

Loved our first experience dining here. The decor, staff and food were excellent. Everything came out fresh and fast and I highly recommend the congee. I loved seeing the employees work well together and we even had the manager bring out our food. I highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to checking out other locations in the future!

Great food at reasonable prices. While all Congee Queen locations seem to always be busy when I visit, this location is exceptionally busy, thus the food is always freshly made.

As we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter came up and asked, how many people? I said 3, but he said (very mean) where's the other? I said two of us are here, my friend should be here any minute, he just parking his car. The waiter actually throw the menus down very hard on the reception table and yell at us "PLEPLO ARE NOT HERE YET" and walk away. There's another waitress standing watching the whole conversation that we had and pick up the menus, but I asked her, didn't you see what kind of service this restaurant has, it's not the only one restaurant in this area Right in downtown of Toronto and I don't need this kind of service and we walked out of the restaurant. Please read the reviews before come to this restaurant. NOT RECOMMEND TO COME AT ALL.

We used to eat here regularly. Maybe once every two weeks. But yesterday we ordered some noodles with beef. And I had stomach pain for hours after I ate it. Then I had a fever night time. We didn't realize it was because of this food.

The day after, my fiance ate the leftover of the same meal and she has the same issue now. We suspect it was the beef. Maybe they used old beef or something. Anyways, I'm not coming back again.

Poor customer service JOE
I recently had a very unpleasant experience dealing with Joe from Ask More Tips. I value good customer service; unfortunately, JOE'S attitude and demeanour fell far short of the mark.

Honestly, I was extremely disappointed by JOE'S unprofessionalism and lack of customer service skills. In my opinion, it's not acceptable for a customer service representative to behave in this way. If Ask More Tips wants to maintain its reputation for quality service, they need to reconsider employing individuals like JOE.

Overall, I cannot recommend Ask More Tips based on the poor customer service I received from JOE. I was left feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer, and that's not a good impression for THE RESTAURANT to leave on its clients.

Delicious Chinese food! Huge menu! Big portions with a very good price!

Food was great, portions a were generous, service wasn’t good. No explanation given that we were to order via phone, but still had to place drinks order with the server which seemed to defeat the point. Not everything arrived until we asked server when half way through the dishes.

Lovely decor and good service. Food is good but not the best. Prices higher than most. It is a fancier fusion type restaurant. Flavor profile is a bit on the light side. Place is high tech, you can scan a QR code and order. Menu is vast and has photos. Single handicap restroom stall on first floor (have to wave at sensor to lock doors (right side of sink). Other restrooms/washrooms/toilets located on basement floor where they have the additional tables/seating. This is a nice place for the young folks but older patrons might enjoy a more traditional restaurant.
