Congee Queen

Our family eats at this restaurant two to three times a month, so we can improve the food. I like the seafood porridge, stir-fried beef river, salted fish and chicken rice, roast duck, pork belly tofu stew, Xingzhou carrot cake, dried Terminalia fish and green beans, etc.

This is a cool concept for a restaurant, as basically everything you order can be shared.
The food was quite tasty and we shared 2 different kinds of soups.
The portions are quite large so do not over order!

Servers will complain if you just gave them $20 as a tip. We’re 3 people and spent almost a $100. Rude customer service. Never coming back again and won’t recommend.

Great food and nice people. We've been customers for 15 years. I just wish they would start delivery again. I'm too old to drive. Had to take a cab.

Food was okay. Service wasn’t great. No one offered to fill up my water. Bathrooms were very dirty. Overall not the best experience.

One of the male waiter not nice to customer, because the fire rice is very oily, ask to change it. He said is like that, if you order again are the same oily, can not do it. But the other waiter said I can order one less oil for you. I will think about to go there again.

Our favourite place. Various food, DELICIOUS, and good prices. We usually go there, and it's always busy and you should expect a big lineup to get in. But it is worth it. I also love the that they serve with food.

I ordered the hot and sour soup with beef and mushrooms and S&S chicken, the hot and sour soup was on point absolutely delicious the beef and mushroom 10/10 and S&S chicken was a little dry other than that it was good 6/10. Overall food was 10/10.

Always a good experience at this location. The bbq counter has great choices and the pork is never too dry. Congee of course is the star here but so are the other dishes. The staff are quite friendly too, helpful and attentive. Will keep coming back!

Since they're expanding with7 or 8 franchise, quality is not the same.
Over priced manu, couldn't deliver to the dishes that is expected should be.

The prices here have gone around 20% so it has covid inflation. The staff is still learning since they had to come back 3 times to remember our order. However the food still tastes great and there were ample portions which we took home

Kept miss packing my orders and yet no apologies and rude on their mistakes. Don't know if I am going to order food from them again.

Ordered take out on Monday night at 6: 03. Food was ready at 6: 55. They said it would only take 30 minutes. Take out desk is disorganized. Not sure how quick table service is but you will be disappointed with take out.

The food is amazing here, and if your a fan of soups i would definitely recommend the "mince chicken corn soup", "Shrimp dumpling soup" and "crab soup" but honestly there is so much more then soup you can get here, and you will not be disappointed if your looking at a nice place to dine with family.

Ordered minced vegetable congee for pick-up and opened to see an insect in the food. The lady on the phone sounded fine with it like it was a common thing happening. Unhappy with the experience.

Never again. I spent $80 at Congee Queen and the portion sizes were shockingly miserable. When you spend $17 for an order of chicken, you expect to get a decent to big size portion. For $17, I got 5 or 6 thin pieces of boneless chicken and they were cold. At other places, when an item costs over $10, you expect it to either be premium or generously portioned and in this case it was neither. The rice was cold, the chicken tasted like store bought deep fried chicken drizzled in watery lemon sauce and the Congee was cold as well. What an absolute waste of money. I was still hungry after spending $80 on a meal. Save your money and your time, don't bother.

My family and I have been long time customers at this Congee Queen location. But this was too much. Yesterday, we had ordered 3 portions of the Hong Kong lobster. When we got home and opened up the package, we received 4 lobster heads and the remaining was mostly shells. This is not the first time something like this has occurred; it is extremely annoying and frustrating. During my order, I had specifically asked about this issue. The person on the other end explained to me that each portion would be one lobster. So why did I receive 4 lobster heads while ordering 3 portions? Almost $100 worth of lobster, only to have mostly shells. So ridiculous. Good to know not to order from here again. The other food was also average, the portions got significantly smaller.

I love Congee Queen and Ive been to this location many times. Sadly, due to covid, we had to take it to go. Some food (and not Congee Queens fault) does not travel well. We ordered the fried rice. The condensation changed the flavor. There was also no wok taste if u know what i mean. The same goes for the shrimp and chicken in mango as well as the sweet and sour pork.: (so sad. But i have to say, i have tried A LOT of cantonese roast duck all over Toronto. They have one of the best tasting ones! Nom nom. Ill be going back there after covid but probably not going to do takeout again.

Don't get me wrong in this review. Normally I go others locations and I love their food menu. Was a Xmas eve when I went to this location. I think they had to much pressure for the amount of orders. I got a couple of items
Pad Thai with not salt and a pinch of sugar made a tasteless dish, the Chef Special Fried Rice didn't have enough meats, for me was money wasted and I had problems with my wife because she love Padre Thai and she was disappointed with this.

This place exceeds my expectations everytime, except once. All orders were always done on time. Food consistently tasted the same as before. It is more pricier than your typical ma and pa chinese restaurants, but worth its value. I can't comment on service as I always order take out, but the ladies by the cash register has given me great service everytime. If balanced flavors and variety is on top of your list this is a place worth trying.

I can't understand. I ordered on Uber Eats but I got someone else's order, the carrier said the diner gave the wrong food. Second time, I ordered the same thing again, but it took about 2hrs and changed carriers for 5 times, at last, the diner cancelled my order. Woo! Kidding me? It's Cristmas and New Year, WHY I CAN'T GET MY FOOD OR RIGHT FOOD? !

The worst experience ever to order congee queen foods from this place for new year eve dinner! We ordered on the day morning with notes that we will pick it up at 6pm, and when we came, we had to line up with people who are ordering. This is fine but then they said they havent cooked our order! Then we asked for refund but they said 20 mins. Waited for 20 mins but its not done and they dont even want to give refund, and told us to wait for another 10 minutes. Total of wait time is 40-50 mins and they didnt even finish our order! They finally gave us refund but wont ever come here again! Complete disaster and disappointment from this place! Worst customer service and experience ever!

Worst customer service. I ordered food via congee app in the morning and i called the restaurant to make sure they received the order. When we arrived to pick up food, they have not started cooking for our order! Waiting for 1 hour, we decided to cancel the order and ask for refund. Not recommended to order food during New Year

I always order from Congee Queen centerpoint mall location for take-out.
They do deliver them after 4pm, on food orders after $25 (I think?) or $30.
Out of all the Chinese restaurants that I have ordered from, I found Congee Queen's food to be the most delicious.
Also, the staff were quick in taking the order, preparing the food and were always on time.

Food is good if you know what to order. Menu is huge so that makes this kind of hard. Service is a like slow but otherwise the servers go above and beyond in my experience

Sat down for 15 minutes and nobody offered water or anything. The food was decent but that's about it. They should take more time to care about their customers.

Great and inexpensive food but servers little bit rough and unfriendly if you ask them about certain ingredients in a food you want to order.

Food are great here but sometimes chopstick, spoon, and dishes are dirty. They have lack of staff member that they are too busy to get to you to take order.

This place is a dump. You walk in and the menus are all over the place disorganization is not a good sign. I waited a good 15 mins to order and it wasn't even busy. The staff are rude and there was a racist vibe.
Staff have no regards for customers peace of mind, making way too much noise when moving dishes and cutlery they have no restaurant etiquette. I didnt even eat I left because I was annoyed after 10 mins of bad service I dont trust the food

Nicest Congee Queen Ive seen! We hosted a party here and manager was very helpful and accomodating. Would do it again.

I go here quite often, and the greatest problem I have encountered, is co-ordination. If I go with a few guests, almost always, one dish, will comes 20-30 minutes later. It happens whether they are busy or not. Do the chefs not cook the meals in order? I have never had this problem anywhere.

Dishes could be more generous. Chicken curry for example has very little chicken and mostly skin. Same with other dishes, more bones, or fat than actual meat.

Location is very convenient and I have become use to the negatives. Pros outweigh cons overall.

Ordered over$50 food and the first thing the delivery man said to me was tips not included in the bill. Well maybe you shouldn’t even bother advertising free deliver over $30. Tossed delivery menu right into garbage bin. Unreal.

Generous number of seats here so waits aren't too bad. Consistently good food like the other Congee Queen locations

The food was quick and taste amazing. So impressed by the rice with unagi and teriyaki sauce (not sure). The servers literally did not say anything to us. Completely nothing. Not ignoring just did not talk to people even when they served food and took our orders. Never asked how the food taste. So basically, they were like robots lol. I didnt mind that personally, however, my friend was really offended by them. If you want some service, at east smiling, talking or greeting, this restaurant is not for you. Food was good though.

This one is at Center Point Mall. Similar to the one at Leslie/Hwy7. They're busy, probably also is on Sunday. The food is good n the service as well

Good food and fast service. The prices are reasonable as well. This is a popular restaurant, especially during dinnertime.

I LOVE their salty and spicy squid! I even had a dream about it after my first visit there, it is our "MUST HAVE" item when we go there!

We like to order in from this location, ordered this evening and the food was not up to par.
We like the six grain rice, but this order was not great, the flavour was completely different.
Disappointed, and not sure if I will order from them again.

I ordered fried rice today and THERE was a WORM inside of it. IT WAS SO DISGUSTING! Cleanliness and hygiene should be the most important thing! What if I experience of food poisoning? I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS STORE AGAIN!
+ I also waited for 40 minutes for this disgusting food UGH

여기서왕벌레나왔어요ㅋㅋ 집와서 먹자마자다뱉고 토했습니다~~ 솔직히 식기도구도 더럽고 찝찝했는데 오늘도 가서 40분기달리고 음식 받았습니다 아 근데 맛은 솔직히 괜찮습니다 그래도왕벌레드시고싶지않으시다면. ㅜㅜㅜ

I love congee queen. Tasty. Simple. But be prepared to wait for a table. It's always busy when I go this location and there's no where to stand or sit comfortably during a wait for your table. I guess it's still worth it cause I keep coming here.

This Chinese restaurant is a very finely tuned machine! It is a large restaurant that fills up quickly during dinner time but there is a minimal wait time if any because there is ample staffing and the staff is efficient. There is no hesitation to get your orders and bring the hot, delicious food to you.
The washrooms were surprisingly clean!
The food was amazing! The Chinese style lobster was incredible and certainly the centerpiece of the meal.
The Chinese brocolli was perfectly cooked was served in large portions.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an amazing Chinese Food Experience!

The ambiance was very relaxing and modern! The turnip cakes were delicious.the main dish was a little too greasy and my mom found a tin scrap in her mouth after eating it.the waiters are sometimes impatient.overall, it was okay but i don’t think we’ll be coming back anytime soon.

Chinese fast food place, it is certainly not expensive. Severs are not understanding English well. I asked three times for one cup of cold water. However, I gave them good tip!

Ordered delivery. Absolutely horrible no flavor, way over priced. Took 55 min to deliver food is cold

Food were excellent. Service were excellent. Second dish we ordered came a bit later than we had expected.

Took the staff more than 20 minutes to serve us but then the manager came and took our order and the food came very quickly after that. Food was served in very generous portions and all of it tasted delicious.
