I hadn't had Congee Queen in a while - since before the pandemic! Going off of memory, my expectations were very high since I recalled liking everything I had last dining experience where I tried a wide variety of menu options (at a west end location). It's definitely a great spot for large groups and sharing plates. However, this round was hit and miss! I did appreciate how extensive the menu is, the prices are low, while the portions are big; and I was able to try a lot of menu options this time around as well. The few dishes that I really enjoyed (out of several) were the turnip cakes, general tso chicken and fried eggplant. The dish that disappointed me the most was probably the shrimp and scallop congee - it was just so underwhelming in flavour (also lacking salt) and seafood quantity compared to the larger seafood mix that's only offered in a large bowl size which is LOADED with seafood (they need to have it in a small size too!). Also the menu option "mushrooms with vegetables" turned out to be *mushrooms with a ton of Bok Choy* and although I like Bok Choy. We were expecting more of a veggie variety with the word "vegetables" being used. The beef dishes were also not that great, just ok - I'd definitely recommend trying the chicken dishes over the beef ones.

Great go to late night food place. A lot of space for big family and friends! I love the fried turnip cake here the most!

Great Chinese food place, Have lots of selections. Why only 3 stars? Because my favorite fish soup noodles were not being served anymore. I came twice looking for it but they never brought it back. I will never come back again until they bring back fish soup noodles.

Highly recommend! Extensive menu, large dining room, quick service and reasonable prices. Quality of the dishes is very good and portion sizes are large to share family style. Tables and booths are very large providing lots space to enjoy your meal.
Covid social distancing precautions are well done and felt safe.

I live on Bonis across agincourt mall where this this Congee Queen is located. We have been dining when that was allowed and taking out for several years. Yesterday I ordered for take out and when picking up I asked for chili oil. I was given two small containers (picture attached) and when I asked for 1 more the person at the take out said $0.35 for each extra. I paid for the extra one.
I am leaving this review hoping that the owner or operator of this restaurant does read this and understand that these are the small things that will send customers away from your restaurant.

Besides this not so customer focused interaction, I have to say there is never been one time that their food has not been good. It's consistently good.

Good COVID-19 protocol in place even though it is in full capacity. The only negative for me is the line-up for pick up. 'For Pick-up' Customers have to cross the dining area to get to the distribution.they must improve this.

Beef was hard, the congee was way too salty to the point you can’t eat it. Radish cake is good but that’s about it. I’ve been ordering Congee Queen since they opened too. Truly disappointed!

Very disappointed. I've been coming here for years but mostly eat in. I ordered the Canadian broccoli for takeout because it is always so good. It's not cheap but I figured I would get the same amount. Nope The container isn't that big and you get half the order size you do vs when you dine-in.but the price is the same! $15.53. You'd think the container would be stuffed to the brim. It wasn't. AND they only gave me one of the 2 that I ordered. That said, realizing I would have paid $31 for 2 measly portion, here they did me a favour!

I feel so ripped off. Never again. Plus I won't be going here again any time soon after this.

If they can't do the same portions, make it a different price. They have less overhead when they do takeout, so it just feels like they are taking advantage.

I'm guessing I am not the first and won't be the last customer they lose for being so greedy with such a cheap ingredient

Best Chinese food I have had in a very long time. Authentic and delicious. Very friendly staff.

The food is still tasty good. A bowl of Wanton Noodles Soup is now $8.75, and Fried Chilli Turnip is $10.50 It is great that there is also a 10% discount for cash payment. The social distancing by customers waiting for order and pick-up is lacking. I will only dine-in for not more than an hour.

We went on last Sunday September 5,2021 lunch time they're accommodated us to sit down but we are so disappointed with the food compared before the foods are tasteful and you gonna enjoy the smell of the food but now tasteless and not presentable. We didn't finish the food. Sorry to say we are dissatisfied

Large portions.
Bubble tea is not the best here.
Spicy Pepper and Salt Fried fish is too salty.
BBQ rice noodle roll is made so well here.
Cantonese fried noodles is spot on.
Preserved duck and chicken hot pot is good. Duck too salty.

Food is great! The food came really quick as well. Great customer service and quite a nice place. You might want to ask for a plate if you find the bowl to be a bit small to put your food on.

Pickup order via Uber. Very yummy food! I thought it was a bit pricey, but it was big enough for the price. Enjoyed leftovers for next day lunch as well.

Very poor service!
I was in the line first but they made me wait longer because I want to pick the fresh barbecue pork. Customers behind me were entertained faster because they speak their language.

The absolute worst service ever. No water or drinks were offered we had to ask for water. They did not come to check on us once. Waited forever for the bill after. Will not ever come to this location again.

I would urge you to book a reservation ahead of time especially for dinner because this restaurant fills up very quickly and often there will not be space to sit. The service is okay could be better, food is delicious. You can also order takeout at the back of the restaurant if you choose to not dine in.

For all congee lovers! A little pricier than most congee places but delicious food and nice environment. Also kids friendly with change table in the washroom!

Fish malt soup was too salty today. On top of that, the service was very poor. It seems like the waitress had a bad day or wanted to go home early. We feel like they rushed it and wanted us to go home early even though the restaurant closes at 12am.
It is a rainy day and the restaurant was pretty much half empty yet their service was supposed to be better but it was opposite!

I’m always coming here and the costumer service is excellent. The food comes quickly and is very delicious.

Booked a table in advance for 14 people, but it seem like they don't want customer to be comfortable at the restaurant. They put us in two table, one big and one small right the middle of the restaurant which are really hard to move. When I asked them if we can move to a better table, they said no. It seem like they dont welcome customer to come and have dinner at their restaurant. Plus, service was really bad when no waitress have a smile on their face or ask any questions or give recommendation about our order. It seem like they just want customers to pay the bill and go home fast. Could I have the reason for this kind of service? I would give one star, and sure we will no longer come back in the future.

Food was served fast. The quantity was amazing. I really recommend trying the fish soup rice noodles (although they should off vinegar). One downside is their washroom is absolutely disgusting- water pressure is so poor that there is barely a stream and the facilities did not look like it was well managed.

I had dinner in this restaurant last night with cousin.
We ordered few items. But some food is Ok, some food is very salty.

Restaurant is noisy because it's always busy (unless you come at the really off-peak hours) so keep in mind it's probably not the first choice to have a quiet dinner.

However the food is REALLY good here. Large portions, reasonable prices, and the chefs truly know what they are doing. Top notch "wok hay"!

Service is your typical Chinese restaurant - efficient and effective at getting your order in, meal down, clean up, check, and bye! LOL.

Everything on the menu we have tried here is yummy. Would recommend: soft shell crab fried rice, mango fried sea bass, sticky oysters, anything from the bbq section, shrimp and scrambled egg sauce rice noodle, stir fry turnip, and the fish noodle soup!

Good Chinese restaurant serving delicious stir fry noodle, BBQ food, congee and other appetizers. Salt and pepper squid is a must try. During week-days they have afternoon special offers from 3pm to 5pm: a free drink or a tall glass of iced red bean drink with a scoop of ice cream.

Good food for big groups. Had one of the waitresses try to tell us that the food was spicy when we clearly had no chili flakes visible. However asked another waiter who agreed it didnt look like the typical spicey dish and was sent back to the kitchen and came back as how it is usually prepared. Aside from that hiccup the servers were great.

Good CQ location but can be really busy at peak times. Food quality is consistent however and service is quick. Large parking lot which can get nutty due to proximity to a large Walmart and No Frills. They have a decent 'tea time' menu, available from 3-5pm Monday to Friday, with a large selection that comes with free HK-style milk or bubble teas.

It's my first visit this congee shop with my wife and kids 2 days ago; we ordered a big seafood congee pot and some dishes, plus 1 bubble tea for my younger kid. Unfortunately, after the meal, my kid had been suffering from high fever until now. My family doctor said it could be a Gastrointestinal fever, either with the seafood or the bubble tea. Although I personally like the huge portion of food, and the taste was fine to me, the seafood seemed not well cooked through.

We would probably never go back to this restaurant. This is a very bad experience for us!

Went to eat here with my mother. Upon entering the restaurant, the male server did not even acknowledge me when I told him I needed a table for two.

The wait time for food is extremely slow. I had to flag down a waitress and inform her that my food hasn't arrived yet after waiting for more than 10 minutes. We only order 2 dishes, one regular bowl of congee and one dish of curry beef brisket rice. The congee arrived relatively fast, the curry however, did not. We went at a non-busy time, there is absolutely no reason for this delayed service.

The quality of food is average, at best. I'm not a food connoisseur by any means, but the beef brisket was quite tough. There also weren't much in the curry, only beef and curry sauce.

Waiting for the check is unsurprisingly slow as well. Normally, waiters just walk up to the counter and bring you the check. In our instance, we waited more than 5 minutes before we grew restless. I looked around the restaurant and there weren't any waiters even within the vicinity of the cash counter. I had to flag down another waiter just to get my check.

All in all, I would recommend this restaurant if you enjoy spending quality time socializing with your friends while waiting for your food to arrive. If you're just here for the typical food experience, I would not even think about dining here. The Subway nearby offers much better food at a fraction of the wait time.

TLDR;: Dismissive waiter, slow wait time even during off-peak hours, average food.

Really great food, good atmosphere, sometimes has a long wait on weekends at noon. I recommend any of their BBQ meats, the duck is really tasty here!

Food was good. Crazy busy, so servers did not stop by our table, even after we flagged them multiple times.

I come here for the food, not so much for relaxed ambience or high-quality service.

Didn't even get to eat. We had reservations and arrived on time. Over the next half hour we were told our table would be "ready in ten minutes", " ready shortly", and "sorry, you'll have to wait another 30 minutes". What? How does their tabling system even work?

I always love Congee Queen, no matter the location. The menu offerings have something for evergone. This location at Agincourt Mall has plenty of parking unlike the other congee locations around town. As with most of these restaurants, wait times could be long depending on time and day you go. Prices for all dishes are very reasonable. Great value for your money.

Everytime I come here i try something new, and its just amazing. Portions are huge, and everything is high quality. Defintely a place to take your significsnt other or even a group to enjoy some really good food!

We always go to this restaurant because of many reasons.
1. Great food and quantity
2. Decent Prices
3. The fastest restaurant to serve you the food in 5 minutes!
4. One of the few restaurants that actually have places to park.

You can also tell how good the restaurant is when there are people forced outside waiting to get a seat.

Their food overall is ok. There is usually a wait especially weekend at night so make a reservation. They have good BBQ pork and duck, but don't order their seafood. We ordered the clams and it wasn't really fresh.

Ordered the house special seafood congee and salted spicy squid which are our two favorites here. Always enjoy these dishes. Servings are large - two of us could not finish and we have leftovers for tomorrow. We came at 5: 30pm and it was packed.

Food and service was good in the past. After the restaurant gains her popularity food and service are average. Very crowded especially at weekend and they will put the bill on the table when the food is almost finish. Very irritating. Seats are narrow and comfortable for people under 130 lbs. During winter don't go with clumsy winter clothing. I will not visit again only if I need a quick eat and go at the vicinity.
