Congee Wong 天皇名粥

We came a couple of times and the food was quite good- it comes out sizzling hot! We love the deep fried foods with the squid and tofu being our favourite. The congee is really tasty as well. The turnip cake is unique as it’s the same flavour as the Singapore noodles.

Large tables and high chairs are available. Service was quick and people were always nice.

It’s a crappy shop, don’t go there. No one has been around for a long time. There are only two tables of customers in the shop. It’s about to close. The meat in the porridge is bad and the rice is the cheapest.

Solid, satisfying, and large portions of Cantonese dishes. Great congee as well.
Busy place, so you may need to wait a bit, especially if you come in large group. Staff are efficient & friendly. Can't go wrong with any of their dishes. They all are fresh and tasty, come out quick as well.
Parking is quite hectic in this plaza since there are many other businesses that attract a lot of customers.

Food is good, however, would it really kill the business to put a couple chopsticks in the UberEats order? I ordered as a patient of a hospital close by and I had to figure out where to get utensils or eat the food (soup) by hand! Even though l requested utensils in the order.

Their afternoon tea menu is good for dollar.
Lisa, one of the waitress, has been working there for 17 years. She is always pleasant.

My family * for 3 * were there around 630-7PM. We were supposed to be 2nd in line for seats **there were a group of 4 ahead of us**, then, more people came in waiting to be seated. But guess what? The ones behind us were 2 groups of 3s with no reservations that came AFTER us got seated 1st? ! We then end up have to wait maybe another 5 mins for them to clear our tables.they will only prioritize White people. Talk about stereotype. We end up tipping them anyway

Nice congee place in North York. They have very good congee, lots of varieties. The general Tao was very good. Definitely will go back. Lots of parking.

Went with my family and friends. It’s basically the sister of Congee wok! If you like and have been to congee wok then this is his sister’s place.
The food selection the setup and service but in a lower scale.
We did order several dishes from soup to rice and meat. It’s tasted great.
Since it’s in a busy plaza it’s had to find parking. It’s decent place.

Tried beef tendon rice and tripe noodle last Friday, it's delicious! The most important thing is enough beef tendon and tripe! The soup base is good!
It is also good to try fried noodles with shredded pork after three days!

This spot is worth a try. They have big portions for reasonable prices. Always clean and with awesome character. Will come back again.

Ordered a rice noodle roll and look what we found inside! Looks like a piece of fishing wire/ a wire of some sort. Very dangerous as this is a potential hazard.

This spot clearly knows how to take care of their clients. Consistently with a nice mindset. The food is conveniently priced, always flavorful and clean.

Been to Congee Wong many of times.always same great taste. Just sharing that this place offers outdoor dining but there is only 5/6 tables which is shared with the other 2 restaurants there.

Excellent and tasty food, I loved the atmosphere the place has, and the staff members were kind. Will definitely visit here again.

I had heatd about this restaurant before from many og my friends. Their foods are not very salty as other chinese foods are. That is why I rate this restaurant 5 stars. Not very speacial but better than usual. I wish to visit here again with my family and other companies. Thanks!

Fast and well knowledgeable staff on their menu.
Very quick to bring out the food you ordered.fast pace environment.but due to popularity in this franchise line up still happens but well worth it!

Great food and reasonable prices, don’t bother asking for extra chilli oil.they will remind you that they have it for sale. Sometimes can have a attitude from people working there but it hasn’t stopped me from going back.

Call ji young Doris is a Chinese restaurant located in Toronto and they are typical of most of the Chinese restaurant they serve stir fry multi-purpose oxi multi-purpose food vegetable sweet and sour chicken sweet and sour pork fried chicken and so forth and I enjoy their combination fried rice in most of the Chinese restaurant in some sort of combination fried rice and white rice - combination fried rice with sweet sour chicken prices reasonable service was always good

Have been coming here for years. Taste has gone down, but quantity and speed are still good. Very busy and very hard to find parking spots.

Anyone love crusty rice soaked in sauce, tender chicken, mushroom and. Chinese greens? Ask the server to burn extra to make it extra crispy. It is under hotpot section. $12.50. Oh so good.

The inside of Congee Wong is very nice and clean. The staff are alert and polite.

We were served right away and didn’t wait long at all, very professional service.

We ordered shredded pork & preserved egg congee with beef ho fun.

The congee was decent and beef ho fun was very good.

The one downside is that the food seemed very salty.

If you’re in the area, Congee Wong is definitely a good choice.

This place is an institution. Good food and usually good service. Very popular so you need to be careful when you come. Sometimes the wait is too long. The chef special fried rice is super! And the radish cake is a must. Great for large families.

Local congee joint but overall the best fried donut/ youtiao not greasy at all (definitely not a Chinese oil stick)

Our default lunch place. Great Chinese cuisine, very affordable especially for large groups. I always leave the restaurant with a very full and satisfied stomach.

My favorite restaurant in this area. Great food and good prices. Have been living in this area for 16 years, always go there when I have guests. The staff are always busy, and sometimes not able to treat customers with nice manner. I see cold face there very often. Or else, it will be a 5 star.

Been coming here for nearly a decade and it has yet to disappoint. The softshell fried rice is a must. Their version of Calimari is also delicious. The flavoring of many of the dishes are just spot on. I just wish I could go more often with a large crowd as that's the only way to eat this kind of Chinese food-Large selection buffet style. Food also comes out super fast.

Prior to my last visit, I haven't been to this location in about 10 years and I can report.it's exactly as I remember it.the menu, the layout, the fast service, the food quality and the taste.
Perhaps the only differences are the prices (have gone up) and the portion sizes (slightly reduced).
That being said this joint gives you real bang for your buck.good portions at good prices.

Congee Wong is my go to place for Cantonese style Chinese food. Although the prices have gone up in the last year or so, I still think it's a good deal for the quantity and quality of food that you're getting. My go-to dishes are Yeurng Chow fried rice, Singapore style fried vermicelli, fried rice noodles with beef and scrambled egg sauce, salt and pepper squid, and fried chili turnip patties. Yum! If you're getting take out, don't forget to ask for the chili oil. It's good on everything but especially on rice!

Food is generally ok but for both congees we got yesterday the meat wasn't fully cooked semi raw
(One had beef and the other had pork liver, and they were both red in areas)

Late night dinner. Well priced with generous portions. Food comes really fast upon order however when asked to take some food to go, had to pack ourselves which I did not expect. Would come back again none the less.

Very good experience, the food is great, service is attentive and the cost of the food is reasonable

Good food, but not as good as it used to be. They were very generous with their servings but not so much now.
