Solid Chinese restaurant. Food quality is a solid 4 star. I would come here as a regular if I am around the neighbourhood.

This place is unclean. I love eating congee but this place has made me develop adverse feelings towards it. I found FRUIT FLIES in the bowl of congee two times I’ve came here, not to mention an egg shell in my soup. Never going to come here again. The service is terrible, you find bugs in your soup, and the cooking staff isn’t cautious or put their care into their food.

I had the beef tenderloin with garlic and black pepper. It was perfect. Excellent service to boot.

People have to know what to order, because they have the capability to make it 5 stars restaurant taste.

Nice food, comes quickly, friendly service. Just wish the portions were a little bigger because the price of items should merit more than 8 inch square plates.

Been to Congee Wong at least 10 and all of the times, it was fast and delicious, whenever I want to have congee, its a toss up between this place and Congee Queen, I think they are both under the same ownership group, I have gotten both take out and dine in food, great restaurant!

I wish I could give 0 star. Food was lousy. Service was extremely terrible, the worst experience I've ever had. The server gave us a bowl of noodles that we didn't order, I didn't realize it was not ours as I was busy taking care of my kids and about to eat. As soon as I put my chopsticks into the bowl, she came to take it away from me saying that it's a wrong order. And she proceeded to take the noodles to another table! Also, our party only ordered 5 combos but she misheard and made it 6. I didn't agrue with her but insisted on giving ZERO tips. She was mad at me and started an altercation with me. I will never go back again!

A great congee & noodle place, reasonable priced, consistent great quality, quick & fast efficient service. Braised beef brisket noodle soup with succulent chunks of tender beef and firm al-dente noodles, tasty sauce with the bitter melon beef on a large serving of rice.

Congee Wong is definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Richmond Hill. Ever since I was a kid I’ve been eating there every chance I could get (birthdays, special events, family gatherings, etc.). If you’re a first timer, I recommend you get their “Chicken Chow Mein” or their “Beef Ho-fun” which are my all time favourite main dishes. As a side dish, I recommend their “Tofu Hot Pot”. (Don’t quote me on the exact names of these dishes.) In addition, if you want to save some plastic/styrofoam for takeout, they gladly put your food in your personal containers you bring from home! 10/10 service as well!

I mainly get takeout from Congee Wong, although I have dined inside once or twice. Service/orders are fast and efficient. Food is reliably solid once you find the dishes you like. Great value - portions are large for the price. Good local spot, convenient for last minute takeout. I like the online order option as well - makes takeout much faster and more seamless.

0 star not even 1 star. Terrible service, food is only mediocre. Worst experience ever. AND they demand at least 10% gratuity for bad service, don't expect to leave without providing any. We order 12 dishes but 3 stood out the most.in an extremely BAD way. Deep fried squid tentacles was clearly stir fried with five spices. When we questioned this, the waitress [short bleach blond hair lady] argued that we ordered it wrong eventhough we wrote down what we wanted on a piece of paper. When she realized she/cook messed up the order she pulled the "this is the style here" bs. It's OK to get orders wrong but to not acknowledge that you're wrong and fix the problem, that's irredeemable. Beef chow mien was deep fried egg noodles with beef and veggies on it? Clearly not chow mien. Birds nest with seafood, big disappointment for the price, stale seafood, had weird odour and they used deep fried rice paper as the nest not taro root.we just gave up at this point. Been coming here at least 2x/month for 15yrs, we notice the quality has gone down over the years but this is the worst, never coming back. Do yourself a favor go elsewhere, like Premiere Ballroom and Banquet Hall, a little more expensive but food and service will be a lot better.

We are regular customers since they opened. We usually do take out and get their Chinese BBQ. Love their roasted pork & BBQ duck. Great customer service. Fast and decent portion. Staff were welcoming & friendly. Will come back again soon.

Wide variety of food offered by Congee Wong. Relatively good prices for a sizeable portion. The clay pot rice is yummy as they get the right amount of crispness for the rice on the bottom of the pot.

Only reason why I gave it three stars is that some food items are not the most fresh at times. I had ordered fried turnip cakes for takeout which tasted a little sour. I normally order it everytime, so maybe that was just a one-off instance.

Will go again to Congee Wong in the near future and hopefully there will be no problems with my order.

Food and service are not bad. We were quickly seated and didn’t wait too long for food either.

The bbq pork has a lot of fat but at least the skin is crispy.

One star deducted for the uncomfortable seating. We keep feeling cold draft from the front door even though we are not the closest table to the front door.

Most of the time I am satisfied with their food but this time I found something unpleasant it looks like some wood or dried something. It's super hard.found few more inside the rice. Hopefully they care more about hygiene and ingredients in the future.

Consistently good quality in my opinion. I always get the Cantonese chow mein, congees and BBQ meats here. Not excellent, but good.

This restaurant has decent food and services. They have great selections of breakfast and afternoon tea combo for decent price. Their congee combo comes with noodles and deep fried dough. It’s truly great value.

Really rude waitresses that will talk about you in front of your face. Food was mediocre at best!

Their service is colder than the weather. You'll be ignored a few times here by the servers. Watch out guys.

This restaurant doesn't give you the same dish as described for takeouts. When confronted by phone the person simply said the chef (so called chef) forgot to put all the ingredients in the dish. What an excuse!
They think they could get away with it because it is a takeout. This place is NOT A HONEST place to dine in or for takeouts. Shame on them for cheating the customers. Go to a better and more HONEST place to eat

9: 30 went to get takeout. Wife wanted some rice noodle rolls. Said I had to wait 30 minutes, which was kinda disappointing. Service was passable, the lady had a bit of an attitude. Overall not the greatest experience.

My dad likes the food from here and he is a picky almost-90-year old Chinese so that's saying something. They have bbq duck and pork and chicken as well. Their online ordering is quite convenient and food is usually ready when they say it will be, unless they are super busy.

Came back here for take out for the first time since the pandemic has started, felt that the portion is smaller though the taste still great. Understandable since the pandemic must have incurred some loss of profit in the business. Picked up food around dinner time and the small waiting area was packed with people waiting to pick up their food - making social distancing rather impossible. But take out service was fast, I picked up my food within 4 min of entry to the restaurant (I called to order in advance on the way to the restaurant). Congee Wong allow MC/Visa payment for >$20 order and Debit for >$10 order.

Been going here for years, they have very good standard Chinese cuisine. Have never had a problem with dine in or takeout. My only con is that prices have gone up over the years.

They offer a great selection on their take out menu. The portion and price were reasonable. The staff was friendly. The fried rice & noodles were tasty but not oily. Will definitely go back!

Food is great. But they need to have a better system to have someone as a cashier and someone to give out takeout orders.

This restaurant has been in Richmond Hill many years and very close to our house so we've been there several times. This was the second time the restaurant staff upset us so much because of their attitude. First of all, the online order at the restaurant is totally a spam. They ask you to pay first then eventually when you pick up the order and they're missing some items, they DO NOT refund you right away. They ask you to "go home" and wait for the refunds by "text" because they just can't figure out how to refund you at their cashier. My husband asked them at the restaurant if they could refund the missing items while he's still there, they insisted not to and they literally said to my husband: Why are you still here? Just go! Because of their attitude, I called the restaurant later to ask why they couldn't refund us right away. They said they would, and then they hung up my phone right away without any apology. Yes eventually they did. But what upsets us the most was their absolutely arrogant attitude. Honestly, we sympathize every restaurant nowadays because of the pandemic so we always give generous tips even when we do the pick-up orders online. We absolutely do not deserve this attitude while we give them tips and pick up the order by ourselves. Whoever the management at the restaurant is, please educate your staff: customers are customers and customers are always right. And we are nice customers, not some "Karen" type of customers. We do not deserve being treated and talked to in this way. I'm a Chinese myself and I feel very bad this is how a Chinese restaurant treats their customers. I especially feel ashamed for Congee Wong. It has been such a great restaurant brand and now its reputation has been ruined by super rude staff at one store.

I only come here for breakfast, so that's all I can comment on. The best value combo, in my opinion, is the one with congee, yau ja gwai (dough fritters), and soy sauce flavoured fried noodles. You don't get a drink, but that meal will definitely tide you over until dinner. Food quality is pretty consistent. Servers are nicer if they recognize you. Due to covid, unfortunately, they're having some difficulty prioritizing takeout vs dine-in orders, so when I went on the weekend, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for everything to arrive. One table of two older gentlemen gave up on waiting and left, and one grandpa decided to take a nap while waiting, lol.

Bland food. Even the tea. And they bring the wrong order and then argue. Used to be a great place; no more. Another one bites the dust.

It took a long time for me to pick up my take out order. Congee Wong should have one line for people picking up take out and one line for people wanting to dine-in. Tables were not physically distanced.

I would say this one is just so so. Congee Queen is much better than this, for the quantity and quality, and they're on the similar price level. Tried once and I think that's it:)

I came here for lunch. Ordered Chicken Fired Rice, BBQ pork and a plate of veggies. It cost $56.25, after tax and tip around $63. It was pricey for 3 dishes. The fried rice was a bit burnt taste, felt disappointed with the food quality. Next time I will try other stuff.

Quintessential chinese food in the heart of Richmond Hill.

Servers are quick and efficient, and food here is always good (granted, you aren't ordering anything too wild).

Dinner is almost always busy here. Expect a short wait if you're arriving at ~7PM.

This place has some good cuisine. Foods good just as comparable to Congee Queen but i feel like i like Congee Wong just a tad bit better than Congee Queen. However, also depends on the dishes lets be real, Congee Queen also does have some great dishes too that are bit better compared to congee Wong.
But either way both places you will be content!

They can also get extrmely busy especially friday to sunday. I would say just a bit quieter during the weekdays and or evenings.

Good place to have congee. I really like their congee "super bowls", lobster and supreme seafood are my favourites.

Brought the rice 25 minutes after they brought the Duck! Our meat was cold by the time the rice arrived. Horrible service, stay away from this place.

Portion sizes were not bad for the value, but all the food was very oily and greasy and nothing special. Not good for older folks. Each bowl of rice is also $2.25, which is pretty expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants of this kind.

Good place for chinese family dinner but the price is a little high comparing to other chinese restaurants. Also, my chinese dad (1st gen if you're wondering) is in love with this place for some reason.

The congee here is good, and the price is also reasonable. The service is great, fast and nice. But little bit salty and too much oil on other dishes.

We ordered congee (艇仔粥), steamed rice roll (炸兩) and Malaysian style flat noodles (馬來炒貴叼), reasonably priced, fair portion served and taste ok. 炸兩 seems to be best of all 3 items ordered but it seems the portion of this dish has gotten smaller compared to last visit.

It’s a hit and miss with this place. It’s not as consistent enough for me to make it my go-to restaurant.

Prices are average, taste is.it really depends on what you order. Their regular steamed rice rolls are blah. Too thick/hard for rice noodles.

Congee are decent, at least their plain congee is made the way I like it.

Actual dishes you order to pair it up with rice is.not horrible but again, it’s not quite consistent.

The only thing I like bout this place is that you can order all kinds of Chinese food here - fried oysters, siu mais, congee, rice, etc.

Things change. I like the congee wong back in First Markham. Too much MSG in the noodle soup? Since after so thirsty. Also order a rib rice which I think forgot to put salt.

Best Chinese food that I've ever had in Ontario so far! Every dish I ordered actually had very good flavour and doesn't taste bland like all the other Chinese restaurants out there. Very delicious! And the service was great as well!

The service here is good. Food served quickly and they're great. However, the carpark was really crowded and will have to wait for quite a long time

The food is mediocre, when we asked for boxes to take it home. The waitress grunted and was very annoyed. If she doesn't like her job, or serving people then simply quit and find a better place, instead of ruining other people's nights

I could give a zero for poor service, that I waited for 20 minutes and they didn't care to take an order while new guests were well received. STOP this attitude.
