Overall the service provided at this office is fast and efficient.
The petite lady with short hair at counter #1 is extremely efficient, polite and helpful, and an asset to this organization that makes a positive difference.

However the man in counter #2 is rude, arrogant and avoid providing any service or help where walking over to another counter that service is immediately rendered cheerfully by the others.this man should be terminated as he gives a bad impression of your organization and there are thousands of people that could do this job better than this.

I called few minutes ago. The way they talk is very unprofessional. They have got very rude behavior. They don't have any kind of manner of talking to people. And she hung up the phone within 15 seconds. #unprofessional #rude #uncultured

Very nice and clean location. People in the office are very polite and helpful. Our appointment was at 11: 20 am. (NVR for seven people) and we were done by 11: 45 am. The gentleman who helped us was very kind and knowledgeable. I mistakenly uploaded the wrong documents, but he was kind enough to rectify my mistakes. Hopefully we will receive our passports soon.

Went for NVR application submission. I forgot to attach the old passport information page. Officer asked me to send it over the email. I did that instantly and she approved my application checking all related documents. It took less than 15 minutes. Great services!

The system was apparently down the day I went to submit my passport for renewal. The lady was shockingly rude, no apologizes, no follow ups, we were told it was our fault for not ‘calling ahead’ and she doesn’t know when we could come back. When I pointed out to her that I did call twice and no one picked up, she brushed me off and said it was probably because they were very busy…?

When I went to give her my phone number for further contact, I explained that I waited a month for my MRP renewal appointment, took a day off work and travelled two hours only to be told the system was down, she proceeded to insult me and call me names! Clearly, she needs serious customer service training and might have a mental health issue. I was so taken aback, I forgot to ask her name or else I could’ve launched a complaint or warned others.

Horrible experience over all. One, there should be a back up system in place for these issues and two, public servants should never treat the people they are meant to serve like trash, it’s truly a disgrace to our country.

Edit: Upon reading other reviews, seems like I and others have unluckily encountered the one problem employee at this consulate - she is the fat woman with glasses at counter three. I would avoid her if possible.

The gentlewoman with glass, in Counter 3 today was very kind to me. The office is very neat and clean and everyone here is very helpful and welcoming. Sometimes we as a customer lose our patience and try to do things off the book, and maybe not follow much about the serials/lines because we always think about ourselves but this place is still very well managed, not chaotic. Thanks to everyone who is working here with dedication. The only note I have is that the customer call center is not very responsive. I would ask everyone to be patient when seeking service. The website is very resourceful, but may need to update/check time to time by the consulate office. For payments, today's system server went down so keep the bank debit card if needed to pay in the counter. Scotiabank, National bank, CIBC and BMO are the closest.

Well, I guess you could say the consulate website really knows how to spice things up! My friend got an unexpected surprise, now he's in trouble with his manager.

I mean, who would have thought that a government website would be redirecting to adult entertainment? Maybe they're trying to branch out into new areas…

Consistently outstanding service! The officers are respectful, friendly, well-spoken. Service is streamlined, on time and without hassles. My father also had the same experience when he went there last year.

I must say that Toronto consulate's service quality is a stark contrast to that of Ottawa High Commission's. I lived in Ottawa for 8 years. Going to that high commission for anything had been a nightmare. Those people are disrespectful, they try to block you from getting a proper service instead of helping you in tricky situations and then when you complain, they talk back at you and blame you to mask their incompetence. There was one person who actually tried to help me with something but that was because our hometown was the same.

So far the best experience at a Government office of Bangladesh. My wife and I went to the BDCG Toronto for submitting our passports for getting NVR. The online application system was simple, but surely can be improved as there seemed to be some redundant information being asked. However, the appointment process was fairly simple.

On the day of the submission, went on time and took a token based on the purpose of visit. One of the counter swiftly called us since we had an appointment made/scheduled. Submission took 10 minutes max. We were told it would take a maximum of 10 business days, whereas it just took 5.

We received an email for collection which mentioned we needed an appointment again. We got the appointment for the next day at 12: 30 pm and I was there on time for collection. When I reached the counter, it literally took 2 minutes to get the passport.

On both occasions, I found the staff cordial and respectful. They seemed to know the process and had appropriate answers to our questions.

Now the downsides. We as Bangladeshis are really the reason why we get poor services. Both the times I visited the Consulate, majority of the people there are without appointments. I understand last minute emergencies can happen, but it is definitely not the case when so many people turn up without appointments. This makes it difficult for staff members to address people with appointments having followed all process. I heard excuses over the counter that they don't know how to take an appointment, but we ourselves would take appointments when getting a service at one of Canadian government office. It is just that our attitude and approach makes it difficult for others to provide that service to us efficiently. I even heard a gentleman telling the staff member that his appointment is at 2 pm but he came early at 12: 15 pm, so if they can serve him because he wants to go home and have "bhaat". On a different note, I was asked to provide my Bangladeshi passport as proof of my nationality, where as a Bangladeshi birth certificate or NID doesn't prove my nationality. These are things beyond the control of the Consulate staff members. However, a lot needs to be changed/improved over time, including our mentality and approach. The policy makers should make reasonable requests and probably should stop serving without appointments/keep a station there for people to make appointments. And for us, the people, stop expecting reasonable outcomes to our unreasonable demands.

Having said that, I definitely felt proud to be a Bangladeshi citizen getting service at this Consulate.

Amazing service! I had an in person appointment at 10.40 AM for NVR. Took me 10 minutes to submit 4 passports and other documents and pay on the spot. Clear instructions online.
Love the idea of online upload of documents to go almost paperless.
Hope they can keep up the same service standard!

Don't know about others, but my experience here has been an absolute bliss. I was supposed to collect my DLA on a later date. But the staff was too cooperative and understanding that she went extra mile to process and provide the document on the same day, so i wont have to come twice.

Is this place legit. I’m getting conflicting results when I log into my account here last night it says my visa is approved and today it is now saying Rejected and can’t contact by phone to talk to anyone only email and there is no Bangladesh Embassy or High Commissioner Office in my area.

I have made 7 trips (including the one I am currently on) to Dhaka in the past 3 years, originating from both the US and Canada. My international travel averages over 100000 miles per year, all over the world.

This High Commission is absolutely exceptional. Easily one of the best organised and run visa services that I have ever seen. Their online process is simple, effective and generally easy to complete. Contrary to others, they are also reachable by phone to answer questions and provide assistance. “Ms. Farah”, in particular, stands out as one of the best visa office service providers from any High Commission of any country to which I have traveled.

This location should be extremely proud of the work that they do.

Be careful of the receptionist. She has quite the temperament and will get easily irritated when you try to clarify something and will start taking a rude tone with you.

Really impressed by the service of this Bangladesh consulate. Went to counter 1 for my mothers passport renewal and the lady there was very helpful and knowledgeable. Everything was orderly and quick. This should be the role model for all Bangladeshi consulates

Nicest people I’ve ever talk to in any embassy or consulate in the world so far. Called today morning (02 Jun 2020) for The information of Reissue a Passport with legal corrections, “FARAH “ apu was very nice and informative throughout the conversation. Eagerly waiting to experience in-person service. I had terrible experience with the Bangladeshi consulates in the UK, USA and Ottawa. This consulate really flipped my mind. Absolutely amazing.

Excellent service by This amazing Bangladeshi Consulate. Very intelligent and knowledgeable officials make this Consulate unique. Farah apu is the best as always, while Farjana apu is pretty good at what she does, Saiful bhai is not bad at all except Shyness! I had few in-person and mail application processed by this mission and everything went so nice and smooth. Their online system is so upto date. I received ontime email updates as soon as my applications moves, which is fantastic. The only thing we all have to compromise, is they haven’t got enough time to pickup phonecall, is because they have to handle such a workload at all the counters inside. Keep up the good work officers. You
deserve 5 stars. You guys earned it.

If anyone from ottawa Bangladesh high commission reading this, you guys should learn from these guys!

I am happy with this consulate services. Last month, me and my husband had an appointment for our NVR application. Ms. Farhana Islam attended us so professionally and promptly that I felt truely pride for such cooperative office. She instructed us clearly and helped us filling out forms patiently. Some serious issues with their operations. For starters, they don't pick up the phone, so you can't ask someone about general inquiries. When you talk to them in person they keep cutting you off as you talk. Next this Toronto location seems to operate differently than the Ottawa location, requiring different documents. I find it weird that consulates of the same country would be inconsistent about their policies.

I always have had very good experience each time I visited the office. I believe the employees try their best serve the Bangladeshi people living in Toronto. I must especially thank Ms Farah for her patience and professionalism while dealing with clients.

A really great in-person consular experience that is let down entirely by their non-existent phone and email support. I have been trying to contact someone at the consulate for the past two days and every single time my call has been disconnected due to "high call volume". Doesn't matter what time I call, or how often, I get the same message. How are we meant to reach out for urgent updates when the consulate remains so inaccessible?

UPDATE: I contacted the 2790 number that was recommended from their feedback here on reviews. I got through to a gentleman, who was so unwilling to even consider helping me, and then put the phone down on me WHILE I WAS TALKING. I have never been so offended before. So rude.

No one pick up phone. As per automated voice stating to press 5 to speak to someone, but it is invalid. I have no idea how they provide services in Canada if no one pick up the phone. Frustrating.

Very good service from some very professional staff. Book an appointment on their website and you will be served without any delay. Since they are not very busy, you can simply walk in too. Great location, lots of parking spaces in the basement and there's a nice cafe on the ground floor. Absolutely loved the whole experience!

Stunning service, great and helpful office staff. You can book appointment online or walk in and request for your required service. I traveled from Waterloo and they offered me priority service to deliver my passport on the same day. Also when you call if the phone is not answered they will call you back! Top notch service! I am very happy and proud!

Today I went to the newly opened Consulate General office in Toronto for No Visa seal for my daughters. I was pleasantly surprised with the friendly staffs and their way of dealing with customers. I literally got my job done in about 30 minutes. Special thanks to Ms. Amina for her proactive support. We look forward to having these kinds of high quality support in future. Keep up the good work.

Honestly speaking, I went there with the least expectations despite reading the five star reviews online as I didn't want to be frustrated. However, as I stepped in the office, Ms Farah, the officer, made me feel at home there with her very cordial and professional approach. The expedited service I received from her is beyond my expectations. The thoughtfulness of Ms Farah reflects how the office cares for Bangladeshi people or immigrants overseas (at leastToronto). The consulate office of Bangladesh in Toronto introduced me with a Bangladesh that I never saw during my life in Bangladesh.
Hats off to the officers working there.

I visited Toronto Consulate General Office. Front desk staff is very nice and well behaved. The lady tried to co-operate with her best efforts. No delayed in giving the NVR services. Wish to keep going this efforts in future. Only problem is parking that located at the back of the building. The parking is not free. However, in considering the security of the the office, the location is good.

I am really impressed with the customer service that I received from the Consulate General of Bangladesh in Toronto. I feel proud of it as a Bangladeshi Canadian. In fact, I received a prompt as well as professional response from Miss Nahid who is working at the reception. I just made a telephone call and found her fully equipped to respond to my query.

From my experience working for the Government and private sectors in Canada, I am delighted to express that the consulate General of Bangladesh in Toronto is providing its customer service which is comparable to Canadian standard.

I also wanted to appreciate Mr. Nayem Uddin Ahmed for his dynamic leadership as the consul General of Bangladesh in Toronto. The Yesterday's event on the occasion of 21st February as the International Mother Language Day organized by CGBD, Toronto was really admirable. I along with many others enjoyed the event.

Despite having a slightly complicated attestation requirement (involving company share transfer) the staff at BDCG Toronto were knowledgeable and helpful. I had the opportunity to interact with both officials at the Consular section service desk and found them to be very professional and completed the work within a short time.
The waiting area at the Consular section is also impressive with good seating arrangement, natural lighting etc.

I called this (6th of Feb. 2019) morning from Winnipeg and talked with a humble lady Ms. Farah who is an assistant in the consular section.
I am very happy with the professionalism she showed me and her satisfactory replies for my every question. This was a service I can compare with Canadian services. Hats off!
I hope Toronto consulate will uphold this service standard and will make us proud.
