Consulate General of El Salvador

The people are very friendly and helpful but they really need more space to do their work and perhaps more employees as they have become more busy. It is very congested inside the office and needs more space

I was treated very well I was attended in short time thanks a lot to this people who go an extra mile to help.

The people at the embassy were really friendly, but the service is awful. They are under staff which one legal service takes more time that it really needs. In my experience one lady was checking people in, same lady answering calls Infront of me while doing my process in the computer (DUI). Very unprofessional. There is no personal privacy as she was asking me questions while talking at the phone and helping other staff members.
Overall, I believe they can do better by respecting every Salvadorian that takes time to visit them and in a more professional way, with respect and privacy.

Now that the elections are coming in El Salvador and with the new initiative to vote abroad, many of us Salvadorans want to do our part and get the DUI or update it to be able to vote. The problem lies with the Salvadoran embassy in Toronto since the waiting times in this process are absurd, 2-3 hours, and above all paying for this process for $35 US dollars. I understand the payment but I don't understand the inefficiency and wait of the process. A call to the Government of El Salvador to speed up these waiting times please since many Salvadorans live far from the embassy and drive 3 hours to be able to obtain the DUI and do our part in these upcoming elections.

I requested help with the Pension Fund Refund process, the Consul assured me that my documents presented were correct and sufficient, since March I have still been in the middle of the process between different entities in El Salvador, since the staff is not trained and is mediocre in the information provided

Unprofessional, not helpful at all! I’ll just go for a trip to El Salvador and do all my paperwork there than deal with these people!
Edit: Familiarize yourselves with new paperwork from the Canadian government being given you are asking for OLD paperwork that no longer exists or being given AT ALL! Seriously do better. Wasting peoples time.

They say that everything is fine with the consulates but I already have more than two weeks wanting to renew my dui and call and call to make an appointment, it does not answer bad service

Great experience dealing with the team at this consulate. They are super attentive, and efficacious. We have had nothing but positive results, very thankful for all their help.

21/aug/2021 - Regarding my previous review, they have become a lot better. They changed their staff, feel more attentive and getting organized. Don't know much still about the restructuring but you can sense they are doing their best.

26/april/2021 - I love my country. I do, however the way we do things are excrutiatingly annoying. Simple tasks shouldn't take several months (specially since it is part of the product you provide) and if the product / service is not provided then make yourself responsible for your actions.

Things hopefully will be easier for passports as they will have the machine available to them for same day service. I was the first one to be printed.

As a side note and recommendation, have your documents ready specially your DUI, passport, photographs and USD money cash as they do not accept canadian money.

I abore bureaucracy with a passion and this is the very definition of it.

Please be very patient as odds are you know more than what they are doing.

I hate to say that my consulate works this way but until they become better I cant really be happy about it

Terrible service. I waited one hour for some one to talk to. I travel a lot and my experience with consulates has not been so bad. I hope they can read this review.

Is closed. Supposed to opened last January 25. They dont answered the phone. Well Toronto is shutdown
