Worst place ever Jamaican system will never be better whether yard or abroad very poor service they never answer phone calls and the duration to get your passport is crazy long. Jamaica system need to show some class, I have a family member sick and can’t even get an appointment much less have my passport renewed so I can go on a very important visit.people work there need to learn customer service proper before dealing with people.they have no class how to talk to people… regular and typical Jamaica customer service smh

HORRIBLE! It’s been 7 months and still haven’t received my passport. The customer service is the worse and no one cares! No one knows the status of my passport… like what kind of system is this?

I'm in disbelief with what I witnessed. I went to help a friend, and i didn't understand the behavior they had at all. The behavior and the treatment my friend received from them here was shocking. The lack of harmony and the excessive hostility. The lack of empathy and compassion that seems to create this inability to understand and respond appropriately to the emotions others have. The confusion and the frustration when confronted with emotions that are uncomprehendable to them is shocking. And, the way this inability to connect with human emotions is covered up by being arrogant to distance themselves from genuine human connection was even more shocking. These people deal with a lot, so they should know how to help each other and they should try to help instead of avoiding it. They call others Gorillaz baboons irate or say people are overreacting when they have to actually deal with genuine distress since it's like they fail to understand the depth of others' emotions. It's unfortunate.

People like this will infentialize or belittle others when they are attempting to be compassionate and empathetic because of their lack of understanding with genuine human emotions. They will also belittle others or gossip about others who are genuinely compassionate and empathetic in an attempt to elevate themselves or dismiss the value of those emotions. Usually, by creating the perception that their emotional openness is a sign of weakness or naivety. So they drag everyone down with them. It's really unfortunate, but if they have accepted who they are, then I guess that's who they are. She should've asked the other one because the one who looked like a gorilla looked confused, like she didn't understand the job she was doing. I was afraid when she asked me something because I didn't even understand the way that office was being run.

They seem very unorganized, and it looks like they would rather get frustrated, defensive, and call people gorillas and baboons when people are lost and confused with the disorganized system. I'm just surprised the studies about these people are right.my friend thinks they are demons and literally shakes when she goes has to deal with them now. She doesn't even know how to communicate with her own people now. It's a pity they are like this. Someone should help these people, but it's like they get defensive when anybody wants to help them, and they only want people pitying them like the farmers being sent back so who knows. Let's just hope they don't bring all of society down with them.

I applied for Mt passport May 12 2022 in July I went down to see what was happening. Told to come back I did 6 times all the way to October. They checked the system to tell me they don't know what the problem is I have to call myself. SMH. Derrick gave me the number. They were hopeless in doing their job. I Came to to inquire to find out rhey missed sending on document. Luckily I brought it and submitted it in Kingston May 2023.10 days they said it would take to get my passport. June nothing. To find out it was just sitting there. I Got upset in mid June saying I'm not getting off the phone til my documents go in the right hands. Finally. Moving forward they informed me that I could pick it up when it is ready and no one else could pick it up on my behalf because the process started in Canada. I stayed reluctantly so I could get it. To find out that July 5 they shipped it back to to say they did not communicate it to the department. I Am so pist I have no words. The system stinks and good for all of you who got through. I should be compensated my time spent in Jamaica and reimbursed for my payment. I sent a complaint and no one responded.

I usually don’t leave reviews. But this is one of the most unprofessional businesses I’ve had to deal with in my life time. They never answer the phone. I got my passport done in April 2023 and it’s now July. They’ve answered the phone ONE TIME throughout those months. This is unacceptable people need their passports and have questions.

Us Jamaicans actually have it good with the Jamaican Embassy. The Canadian passport process is a lot longer and way more steps required. You can simply show up with your forms filled out, they will take your passport photo for you, and that’s pretty much it. With the Canadian passport you need references and guarantors etc.

I have been calling and leaving messages with my contact information for the last six weeks. I have not received a call back, unable to book an appointment online, system is not allowing me. This is so disappointing

I want to thank all the staff today at Consulate General of Jamaica.especially the gentleman, he was very helpful in assisting myself and my family with the process of our passport renewal. He is very knowledgeable of the process. I believe if you are respectful to the staff you will receive the same in return. Don't go there with ignorance, and you will receive the service that you deserved.

Worst place and service. Paid extra to get my sons passport in 21 days and it’s been 2 months they don’t know where the passport is and then they offer to help into finding the passport or next steps if it’s completely lost. How is that acceptable for a government agency

Presently my passport is at this place have send it in since last December 22,2022, have track my package to ensure that it's delivered untime which it did, am waiting to get my passport before 1th of May this year.
This place is a big joke I can't believe that these people that is working there are actually Jamaicans,
Let me say this every bad reviews that is written I am experiencing now, I wish I could give them zero star, have been calling them up to a hundred times per day which can be proven I kid you not, these people will never answer there phones no matter what of the day I called,

When they do answer, it's nothing but bad news they are giving me they can't find my $106 that I have send to get my passport documents send to Jamaican next thing again, they couldn't find my documents at all now am worried of am gonna get my passport on time
My advice to anyone who needs there passport to be renewed please fly to Jamaica and get it done ️ these people don't realize that having an passport in this country is important.
Last but not lease an institution like that with those incompetent behavior needs a leader allllll and I mean alllllllll! The staff need to be terminated and get new staff they are too comfortable do this to people that place need to be sweep and employ new people that is serious about there job also they need to work on Fridays, Monday to Thursday there's still no job done
Even Pika in Jamaica are complaining about them,
This place need new staffing and better management, follow my foolish advice fly to Jamaica and get it done, which make sense

I wish I could give no stars. Terrible place. I saw one persons post of how great they are and call a couple times. I have called multiple times and now they have disconnected the phone. This is a government office, not just a regular business. This is people lives that they are affecting with no regard to the person. No communication is made through any platform. Terrible place

I cant believe how they leave Jamaica and come to Canada with the same kind of tardy attitude, no body is answering the phone or even returning your call. Careless service to their jamaican citizens.

The service is unprofessional, they give you the runaway. Making you wait forever, after coming here we were told to come mid October to pick up the passport. If you can avoid coming here, apply for your Canadian citizenship. Even after applied for the passport through a lawyer waiting for a year and almost a half. THE EXPERIENCE WASN'T PLEASANT AT ALL.

I sent in application fir my passport renewal, I was told it will take 4-6 weeks because zi applied in person, is almost 7 weeks now and I have not received my renewed passport and I tried reaching them by calling everyday for more than two weeks to know the status of my application, the phone rang severally but no response. The voice note will tell you to leave a message, I left several messages still no response. I tried other numbers too still no response. Very poor customer’s service and i was put under stress because my eirk scheduled is tight and i finished from work 3: 30pm and the office closes at 2: 00pm Mon- Friday and closes as well gor weekend.

I have submitted an application since April of this year and has been trying to contact these people since and nothing. I got through to the passport office in Jamaica and they say have not seen any applications for me. I been calling for so long, no one ever answers the phone.

I want to thank the people who work here. Not sure why the reviews are bad, I just had a pleasant experience with a courteous lady. The process was simple, and faster than expected; I was out in about 20 minutes, including having my picture taken.
They’ve also answered all my calls every single time, might take a few attempts as expected, however, they always answer. They even replied to my email on a National holiday. Thank you for your service wonderful Jamaican people!

Today's experience at the Consulate was far from acceptable. The receptionist was very professional. However the processes and online information is outdated. The information specifically the process on a mobile device is not aligned with the information shared by the receptionist. There is nothing from a mobile view that suggests an appointment is "a must". The website says take the minor in, but if I'm required to mail the application why do I need to take my child? The website information says $50 money draft, paying $26 via debit, but the receptionist says $76 that I'd have to mail in because I missed the cut off and no appointment which again is not reflected on the website from a mobile view. C'mon Consultate with the COVID experience your processes should be aligned and reflect the excellence that Jamaican's are known for. Fix your proceses. Again thank you receptionist for your professionalism.

1 year and still no passport!
There needs to be a 0 option available just for this place. Dont be fooled by these couple random 5 star ratings that you see if you check under their names you'll see they have submitted multiple reviews.they are fake! I have had the same experience as the majority of reviewers posted here and it is beyond the pale that this is allowed to continue. I went down and renewed my passport begining of Aug 2021, it is now end of July 2022 will be 1 year in a few days and I have nothing, cant get replies to my emails, my phone messages and cant even book an appt because there is never one available. Why is this type of service allowed to continue with no type of communication with people. Am I just left to accept that I will never get this passport? Unbelievable!

Go through Ottawa before this place. For both of my kids citizenships they made me pay $20 per Canadian document-birth certificates and passports (absolutely ludicrous). I contacted the high commission in Ottawa and they said I should not have been charged this. I contacted the consulate to complain and got an excuse that each entity works their own way- consistency should be key. They need to clean house in this location. Get ppl in who know what they are doing.

This is the worst place ever, I sent my passport in to be renewed from March 2022 now August still haven't gotten back my passport. I tried calling and emailing and no answer. I feel so stupid because this the second time I am experiencing their unprofessional behavior the first time I contacted them a few years ago they were so rude, sadly for me I was expecting better this time.

It is so hard to call and get anyone in this office and even if you leave a message you don't receive a response. As early as the office opens and you call no one respond and all extension message boxes are full.

I have applied my boyfriend passport renewal on feb 15th 2022, we are  tired to calling them almost 4 month we don't know what is going on or how long it will take to get passport they,

1.   Never answer the call
2.  Never replied email

Please someone help me how I can contact them. This is the first time I have this type of experience in an unprofessional government office and unmanaged.

This place is very unprofessional and they had my documents sitting there for two whole months and then a call from this rude lady telling me with attitude that my documents has been at there office sitting there this whole time, I called for two weeks each day no answer, sent email no reply and then to get a call from this saying lady they have my personal documents just sitting there not even answering a question I ask but speaking in this rude unprofessional tone.

The service you receive from this office is very poor, and it seems no one cares look at all the negative feedback that have been given ever since 2021 and before and now its the same kind of service in 2022, I have been to this office in March of 2022, to renewed my passport had an appointment was there waiting for almost 1hr before was able to speak with the receptionist my appointment was 9: 15 but was very early as it was the first day of the day light saving time so my appointed had been moved back on prior to booking the date in December, the person for the 8: 30 appointment was not there and i had to sit wasting time before any assistance, I went and state my case as I had things planned prior to be sitting there wasting time, however the lady accomodated me but stated that if the person came then she would have to stop processing me and dealt with the person which I had agreed my process was finished and the person didn't shows up, fast forward to April, 25,2022 I went back in office to check on the status of my application because no one answers phone there it do not matter the time you call early or late, their is no answer just answering machine the receptionist who was at the desk was very appalling and rude she didn't even look at me asked my name or listen to what I had to say but just to barked at me stating its not ready, and they are busy there, and that its plane the passports have to take to Jamaica and back, yes we know that but the time frame given has passed and if they had answered phones they would not be seeing people turning up to get information on if the passports are ready, what that has to do with business and good communication to customers, this is looking so bad and worst of all the big Jamaican flag is flown on the outside with no service, please we are crying out for help, this cant be going on like this something needs to be done. The relevant authorities need to step in and correct the matter or close office the service given is very distasteful and horrible if there was a zero (0) on the rating that's what i would give.

I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service being provided to Jamaicans living in Canada. I submitted my passport for renewal in January of this year and have yet to receive it. I try calling, emailing and for some reason can never get in contact with anyone in this establishment. As someone who works in Immigration I am truly angered by the lack of respect for those who seek your support and guidance. I will be making a formal complaint and I am hoping I can receive information on where my documents are. You have peoples personal documents, their passport, marriage license and birth certificates and act like its simple. We are paying for this service and should be treated as such. Your staff needs training on respectful communication. What kind of organization are you running? Does your family and friends get this kind of response? I would like to know where my passport is.
