Copper Blues

Came here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and was unfortunately disappointed. The cheapest thing on the menu is a $30 banquet burger and it was extremely dry. What confused me the most was the fact that I wasn’t allowed to order a regular cheeseburger because for some reason it’s only on the lunch menu …. So the only option was the overpriced dry banquet burger and I didn’t want any fancy truffle toppings but again I wasn’t able to order a basic burger lol … it was definitely not worth $30 at all. The menu lacked options and the options available were quite pricey for basic plates like pastas and pub like food. Service was good though, our waiter was really nice but unfortunately wouldn’t return.

It's such a nice-looking place. However, the experience was lacking in a major way. Most notably were the extremely comfortable chairs. Imagine a restaurant, and the only thing that was good was the comfortable chair you sat in. Major Woof!

The burgers were dry like shoe leather and had little to no taste at all. Such a disappointment for a $30 burger! This should have been executed to perfection for the pricepoint. Too bad as my past memory of this restaurant from 10 years ago was pretty good.

Lastly, the server came once poured us water, and we never saw her again until she brought us our bill. Disappointment to the fullest, HOORAY! I literally had to leave and go buy a drink elsewhere so I could wash that dry burger taste out of my mouth.

Welp, 2023 is a wrap. Hopefully, they will make some positive changes in 2024. I likely won't be back.

It was a really bad experience. The appetizer was cold and food tastes terrible. The waitress just takes special care of her friends！！！ ！ worse customer service!

Good surf and turf. The wine list is very confusing. You order a bottle of Ontario red wine and get sangria. Sorry, that's not red wine. That would be a Spanish fruit alcohol punch. The service says I'm wrong. Please write the wine list correctly and train the staff. Given the prices, you can expect that!

My dish was fantastic but my fiance's meal was mediocre. The service was friendly but had to wait a bit of time between visits to the table. The atmosphere was very loud, people sitting at different table conversations across the restaurant.

Popped in here to warm up and have some drinks after checking out the lights and fireworks in the village and had a fantastic time. Thanks to our amazing bar tenders (Ian and Simone) customer service and friendly personalities we had a lovely time and didn’t want to leave. The place was beautiful and such a good vibe! Will happily go here again and recommend to anyone looking for a great place to have drinks with excellent service (we didn’t have food but it looked amazing as well).

Amazing service. Our server had been there since morning, our reservation was at 8: 30pm and she was absolutely wonderful! Although one of the more pricey restaurants at Blue Mountain, it is definitely worth it! Our two appetizers were delish, we ordered the calamari and bruschetta. The 8oz NY strip loin was cooked to perfection, as were the accompanying vegetables and mashed. The gourmet burger was also delicious (although I didn’t taste the truffle aioli sauce). All in all, a great experience and one of the best meals we had during our 4 day stay at Blue!

Food is average, but priced as premium. Don't expect good value - the quality of the prime rib is mediocre - very stringy and lots of ligaments running through it. Serves NY and tenderloin medallions, no rib steak. Family of 4 paid 330$ with tip.
Mussels were good - but one of them were closed, and when opened a lot of mud came out. Wait staffed were really busy. Cold drafts from the door came deep into the restaurant (we sat in the back, and visited in Dec).
FYI - they charge for soda refills which is a great sign of what this restaurant stands for. I've been to higher class restaurants that don't do this. Won't be returning as that last part really turned me off.

Pretty decent, it’s pricey, but you’re paying for the convenience of being in the village, right at the ski hill. No complaints, but at this price point there’s better restaurants around.

New Year's Day patio lunch in the rain to keep our Border Collies with us, good food and great service! Our server took the rain in stride and made sure everyone was looked after, even offering the pups a treat.

The food was amazing, it was not too oily or heavy. The service was quick and even without a reservation we got seated within seconds. The staff was also very friendly, for me personally, the waiter was super sweet and she was great to the kids as well.

Came here for a girlfriend’s bday celebration. Ambiance was cozy. Food was amazing and service was good. Highly recommend the seafood platter.

A nice restaurant for a place to get some good food. The chicken schnitzel and prime rib sandwich were tasty, but the fish tacos were average. The service was good but incredibly slow. The restaurant wasn’t full, yet it took a while to out food.

Food was great, lobster bisque was abit salty but fish taco n calamari was awesome. Service and servicer was great so i give them a 5 star.

Food was great and quick. Service from Simone (I think that was her name!) was incredible. Truly one of my best waitresses I've ever met, her friendliness, humour, professionalism, and ability to instantly connect with you as if you were old friends was amazing. Me and my partner would look at each other and smile every time she left the table because we both thought she was awesome!

I am extremely disappointed with the service we received at Copper Blues on Sunday October 23,2022 from Carly.
I want to be clear this review is not driven by the quality of food at the restaurant. Throughout the entire meal there was attitude and comments that were unappreciated, such as rushing when ordering and commenting on the amount of food we were ordering. However, we tried not to let this damper the experience and be kind, as the restaurant was extremely busy. This review is largely driven by the appalling attitude and rudeness that occurred when we requested our bills. There was a small error on one bill which we kindly asked her to rectify. Upon return with the corrected amount, Carly commented on the inconvenience of rectify the issue and further said “it was only off by a little bit” in a rude tone instead of apologizing for the error. She then looked over our shoulders as we were processing our credit transactions and grabbed the machine abruptly without making eye contact. She proceeded to walk away without any or send off, such as thank-you or enjoy your stay. Honestly we should have asked for a manager right then and there, but I am not a complainer. It is quite upsetting as otherwise the food, view and atmosphere were lovely; I am disappointed I was seated in this section as it put a damper on what was otherwise a lovely evening away. Carly if you are reading this, I am sorry if you were having a bad evening or are going through something, but I hope in the future you can be more professional at work and remember that you are in customer service with guests who want to have a good experience on vacation - a little goes a long way!

Would come back for the prime rib sandwich and the lobster bisque soup! Fries are delicious! Fantastic service and dog friendly!

Visited here for a drink and apps late afternoon. From a food perspective, drinks came out quite fast which was amazing provided they were busy. I ordered a virgin extra muddy Ceasar and it was really nice and spicy. We ordered roasted walnut dusted brie bites and they were quite delicious. The location of the patio is prime because it's right in the center and faces entertainment.

We waited quite a while to be seated. You could tell that they were understaffed especially because nobody was really coming over to the front gate to seat people and provided it's Thanksgiving. We had to find a server to be seated.

Other than not our server was great and she was really fast!

My steak, mash potatoes as well as my veggies were all good but the bread is quite interesting I must say.

Great dining experience. Both dishes were really good but the vegetables, oddly, were all raw. Not al dente, but raw. Beautiful atmosphere. Glad we chose it. Steak and lobster, and the seafood plate.

I ordered the tenderloin medallions - pricey but they were good. I liked the sauce and the whole dish went quite well altogether.

However, it is way too expensive to be worth the price. The bread they gave us was also very bad. The olive oil and sauce they put on the bread did not work at all!

Money. Had the surf and turf and the lobster and steak were done perfectly. The lobster was not over cooked nor dry and my steak was perfectly medium rare. Well done to the chef.

Our server was friendly but a bit distracted and forgot to bring drinks and water but overall all the severs were friendly and helpful. (maybe just a bad day for her)

Rather expensive lunch but the great food and location are well worth the premium prices.

Food and service were okay. But same tricks for tips: on their bill you’ll see their tips are calculated based on the price before taxes. But when you paying thru their card machine- they charged us tips based on the price AFTER TAX.

Great great and delicious food, my husband had clam & prawn pasta, and I had new york steak, very yummy yummy, also our server she was fantastic and recommended for me a flora Dora drink, amazing, my mouth is watering just thinking about the food and drinks. If you are a blue mountain don't miss this place.

Jay made our late lunch a very enjoyable experience on the large patio with a view of the gondola and all the colours of fall on either side. Great wine list and lunch specials. This place has become our goto eatery in Collingwood / Blue Mountain.

Just had shrimp tacos that hit the spot. Service was great. We got seated on the patio right away. Our waiter shortly followed who was pleasant and helpful fielding some questions about Blue Mountain.

Hamburger bun was wet, beef brisket was a very small portion. Overpriced and small portions. No waist your money here

Terrible experience! Their prices are out of the reality. Kids menu are double price from the average of the Ontario and do not include drink or dessert as normally does in all restaurants I have been. Also you pay for 250ml of Coca (their cup are extremely tiny) the price of a refil (about $ 3.50), however if you want a refil you gotta pay $1 extra for EACH refil. The food and the place are completely ordinary to charge prices like they are SO SPECIAL which they are not! Don’t wast your time and money going to this place!

Service there is slow to non-existent. After being seated, we waited for 10min without any server. We had to ask for a server to be assigned to our table. 5min later, someone came by and took our order.

Another 30-45min passed and nothing was served, and the server never came by to check or ask for anything. People who came after us got food and some were even ready for their bill. When we finally decided to leave without getting anything, I asked them what just happened and nobody seemed to have a clue except for a brief apology. I don’t know how they manage their table or order flow, or if they care about it at all.

It’s a perfect location with non-existent service unfortunately. Avoid it if you can.

We had a family dinner today with our kids and the food was AMAZING. 5 stars plus for the food. But 4 stars in general as we had to wait a while for our food to come in (around 50 mins) which was too much. But when food arrived it was worth it.

I have been here 3 times in the last 3 years. The first two times were amazing.

I went today and their were some missteps (dirty cutlery, dirty glassware, & I was served frozen meatballs) BUT our server was great about it and quickly resolved the issues.

Since the other two visits went perfect I would give this restaurant a 4/5.

I would recommend they have better cleaning practices and temp all food before sending it out, I can only hope I don’t get sick!

Went for my 30th birthday and had a good time. The ambiance was lively but I found it difficult to engage in a conversation due to the level of the noise.

The food was good, although my vegetables would have been more enjoyable warmer as they were not as warm as my steak. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his salmon.

We substituted extra vegetables for our potato/rice sides and appreciated that there was no upcharge for this. Portions were great with lots of vegetables.

I understand what other reviewers mean when they said that the food comes stacked on top of eachother making it difficult to cut the steak without veggies falling off the plate.

Our server was also very attentive and checked in frequently.

The one downside, is the state of the washrooms. Felt like a nightclub washroom that could have been better maintained.

Overall, given the location, we were happy with portion and value for money. 4 star review to reflect the washrooms and loudness, but we will be back when in Blue Mountain in the future!

Came for Mother’s Day and while getting a table was relatively quick (outside of lunch time) however the food did take a bit. The copper burger and fries was delicious.

Great service… pretty bad food. Everything was over-salted beyond recognition. Surf and turf came on a tiny plate- Everything piled on top of one another so pretty hard to eat a steak when the bottom layer of mashed potatoes oozes out and off the plate. Lobster tail way over cooked. Place wants to be upscale, just get the food right and it’ll be there.

I wish I was here to write an excellent review, but we were unfortunately extremely disappointed by our experience at Copper Blues this weekend. We made a reservation for 7 of us and were really looking forward to a lovely experience but our server Shawn made us feel like an inconvenience to him. We felt extremely rushed, as every time he came to the table, he immediately ran away when others needed something. He never checked on the food quality when our appetizers or mains were delivered. One of us needed a napkin and tried to flag him down but he ran away multiple times (honestly we were just trying to save him a trip!). As we were paying he didn't try to engage in any conversation, or thank us for coming, or say goodbye. All things that most servers do. I mentioned it to the manager as some feedback as well and she mentioned that Shawn had been there many years and never received a complaint, so we figured maybe it was an off night for him. It was shocking to hear since it was honestly pretty bad.
We had flagged down another server named Kevin for something and he was excellent. He was gracious and accommodating in our short interaction with him versus our hour+ experience with our server.

Food was good, drinks were tasty. We would have probably ordered more if Shawn was around more.
Drinks were overpriced in my opinion, I get inflated prices for resorts, but $30 for a double gin and soda is pretty steep when the 2oz martinis are only $18.
Can't say I'd recommend Copper Blues to my friends unless they can pick their server!

Nice spot in the village. Good food, nice ambiance and service was good. A little on the price side but overall good experience. Will definitely return

Underwhelmed by the food. Crab legs were were over cooked and saturated with salt, steak was undercooked and flavourless. Didn’t order desert as we were so underwhelmed. Will not be returning.

I tried the Copper burger on their outdoor patio. It was delicious and the view beside the firepit added to a great experience.

Good country restaurant/pub with friendly efficient staff. Our server Zuch (apologies if I spelt that wrong) was able to deal with all the tables single handedly. Thanks to the chef who produced our meals exactly the way they should be - the steak was juicy and my lamb shank fell off the bone!

I had high hopes for this place as I have never tried it and I have been to Blue Mountain before many many times and always see how busy it is there. The amount you pay for the food implies incredible food and this place failed miserably. We had the surf and turf and the lobster was ok, but ONLY the lobster was ok. The butter had something foreign floating in it as well. The steak was worse than Walmart quality. So tough I couldn't chew it and swallow it and the fat wasn't rendered AT ALL on either steak. The bacon bits in the Caesar salad tasted like they were from one of those bacon bit shakers, also barely any dressing on the lettuce. The vegetables were cold and bland. I could barely eat my meal and I was so hungry. When I got my coffee in the beginning of my meal there was lipstick all over the mug (not my lipstick). The cutlery was dirty and the water glasses had water rings in them. Our meal was over and that was the point the server decided to ask if I wanted another coffee but by that point it was a little late and already more than a half hour after my 1st cup. The place only had 2 other tables as well so no idea why we weren't looked after more. The window sills beside us were dirty as well so cleaning practices don't seem to be a priority there at all.
When we got into the car to drive home I was starving and I ate leftover pizza from the Oliver & Bonacini Café Grill from our dinner the night before. The lady serving us was pleasant but it wasn't enough for me to forget this $178.00 bill for the worst meal ever. It's a shame b/c they have a great spot in the village and it can do so much better. A couple was walking into the restaurant when we were leaving and we told them what happened so they went to Oliver & Bonacini instead. They informed us that the newer place "Mother Tongue" in the village was really good as well.
Save your money and go to the brewery in the village or Oliver & Bonacini for an amazing meal. At least you will get what you pay for at those places based on my experiences.

Very happy with my experience today. Food was amazing, service was amazing and it was worth the price. Will come back again when I'm in blue mountains.

We were a group of 9 - went for a lunch post my wife's birthday.each & every food we ordered was delicious & I still can taste the prime ribs sandwich- was simply mind blowing! Hosts were great as well. Will definitely visit again!

I was there with my friend. I had smoked salmon with honey and coconut. My friend had chickpea chicken with rice. Food was ok. Vibes were great. The restaurant is little pricey.

Fine dining experience. Food was very tasty, priced was reflected in that though. Great spot to celebrate big occasions.

We only had drinks and calamari, both very good.but the service was below standard and sort of ruined the visit.

First red flag was when we called to make reservations. Had to listen to a 7 minute recording of Covid rambling. OMG on and on about everything Covid and nothing about the restaurant. When we arrived to the restaurant, the exterior is plastered and i mean plastered with posters and signs with so much rubish. It's actually disturbing at how it rittles the village ambiance. Now don't get me wrong, I am double vaccinated but this establishment made things SO UNCOMFORTABLE. Felt like we were entering a military camp. The food was decent but not as good as years past when we visiting Blue Mountain. Disapointing, crinchy and uncomfortable experience.

Good restaurant, was able to get in right away and didn't have to wait. My wife's steak was good, my burger was decent but not worth $26. Overall decent restaurant

Enjoyable in village center;
We had the Louisiana mussels as an appetizer and they where great but warning - that are a bit spicy. We ordered the prime rib and a “touch of everything” which is a surf and turf. Meat was cooked as asked. Overall well prepared.

Horrible experience. NEVER again. The owner is the worst where she forced us to pay without allowing us to eat. I will not eat again when i go to blues mountain. Crazy manger/owner where is starter swearing bad words in front our kids.

We visited Copper Blues for my birthday. Unfortunately we were seated with no direction that the menus would be scanned into our phone (hostess didn’t tell us, COVID precaution) and no water. Staff passed us by & tables were being sat all around us & being served. It wasn’t until about 25-30 minutes of being seated we were approached by a sever who said, “I’m not your server, but I’ll find out who is”. We didn’t see another person for about 5 minutes. Food was pretty good! Desert was amazing! Service was disappointing.

Food was really, really good, they had a cool little collection of local beers (the Collingwood Downhill Pale Ale is awesome) and the service was really friendly and fast. We sat outside on their super sunny patio with a view of the slopes, which was beautiful and super relaxing. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful food and service. Substantial portions, and choices of fresh well prepared food. Always will visit when in town.

Walked in with ski boots- server was accommodating with requests for a bigger table. Friendly service and good food.

Best braised lamb I have ever had. The restaurant was pretty busy but our party of 4 was seated fairly quickly. The drink selection was pretty good as well.

Food and atmosphere is great. Very nice watching the people skiing while dining. The seasonal vegetables were almost raw though, hard to cut, bite and chew. I've read other reviews saying the same issue with the vegetables. Please cook the vegetables longer. Otherwise I really enjoyed and will go back again.

Good and friendly service, decent atmosphere in bar area. Food not so good. Luke warm soup which I think is probably made in large batch but our portion came out really fast after ordering and definitely was not warmed up. Below average pasta and steak dish was poorly cooked and the carrots were pretty raw on the plate that they were difficult to cut or bite. Lobster was nice on the surf and turf.

Food takes about 20-30 minutes to arrive.
Had the beef poutine. Decent taste. Fries are well made. I guess they’re one of the better restaurants in the area.
Although, I think the food are a tad overpriced.

Servers were nice though.

The food was as good as one can expect but the service was by far the worst I have seen.

Our server Reuben was rude and condescending and the shift manager wasn’t much better.

A part of our meals were missing when the server brought the plates to our table. We were finished eating half of our plates and our steaks were cold when we were finally able to flag down our server. After explaining our issue he simply laughed and said the kitchen messed it up.

We then talked to the manager when it was time to pay the bill, she was unsympathetic and said “we could take a few bucks off but you are taking home your meal”. Unreal

After speaking to the manager Reuben came back to receive payment and mocked my wife as she explained to him why she was upset with his service smiling and laughing as he did so then proceeded to tell me “good luck with her buddy” as we left.

The food was decent but like I said horrible service.

Always an enjoyable experience here and service is professional and timely. Even the owner Dustin comes around to your table to make sure everything is going well especially when you are with a large group. Thank you Copper Blues!

Every year our entire family goes to a resort for a weekend before Christmas and we all go out for a special dinner. We booked our "family Christmas dinner" for 21 people at Copper Blues last weekend. When our server, Emily, came to greet us, we asked if she was our only server. When she said yes, we were really concerned as we were ordering off the menu and had not gone with a group meal plan. Emily smiled and said, "don't worry, I'm a trained professional". And was she ever! Every drink and food order was correct and this large group was served in good time with no waiting. There were no complaints from any of us about the menu options, quality of food, portion size or time between courses.
Kudo's to the kitchen and Emily's delivery team as well, but mostly thanks to a wonderful server. One of the best family Christmas dinners in 24 years.

Just awful. Amongst many issues was the flagrant change of pricing listed on the chalkboard. When we walked in it said 23.95 for turkey dinner. When we left it said 27.95.guess what we were charged

Clean place, good service, not many options on menu and too pricey for that menu but understandable for the location.
Ordered salad & house burger. Full salad was not much big but very fresh, and taste of burger was amazing!

Absolutely fabulous dining experience. The food is a little pricey but very much worth it! We ordered the surf and turf as well as the seafood platter for one.we were amazed at the quality and value for money. The seafood platter for 1 is 65.00 but as I started working away, I quickly calculated that it would cost a pretty penny to reproduce this meal at home. We will definitely be eating here again the next time we come up for a weekend away!

This is a nice place to sip a glass a wine, or have a quick lunch. Food is OK, very good seasoning. Not a great variety and prices are high.
But I do recommend visiting.
