Cora Breakfast and Lunch

Great food bad waiter annoyed in doing his job with us Italians.only greeted Canadians. A pity because really good hearty food with an acceptable price

Rude staff ever. The food is disgusting. Not worthy for the price. Too expensive. The fruits are overripe and mushy. The goat cheese is yike, feel vomiting.

The good: This is a busy restaurant, however they didn't take long to seat us. Service was fast, and we got our food quickly. It was pretty basic breakfast food so I have no complaints as it was done as ordered.

The bad: Lack of cheap parking options nearby (this is a complaint about downtown Ottawa in general).

Had lunch with a friend. The plate was filled with delicious and tasty food.
The service was awesome!

So sad how this place has gone downhill, I’ve loved this place so much since I was so little and now it’s not worth the time or money at all. The food has become so bland and thrown together, I’ve always loved their crepes with Nutella but it tastes like they are now using a cheap off brand version and man are they using it sparingly. The crepes used to be stuffed full of fruit and Nutella and now it’s just sad. My friend got a skillet and requested no mushrooms, request was ignored. She asked for a hard boiled egg on the side and not in the food, she was given an unpeeled egg that was dumped right in the hollandaise sauce. Also there’s been a noticeable decline in presentation, dishes used to be so pretty and well sorted and now it’s like they just dump the food on the plate. Plus what kind of breakfast joint charges 3 freaking dollars for coffee with your meal? $5 glass of orange juice? So disappointed

Wasn't the typical Chez Cora experience. Took a while to reach us. Food wasn't that great as it used to be. Pretty sure they overcharged me for extra stuff I didn't even want. Weird employee behaviour. Won't be returning and wouldn't recommened.

Always amazing food. Management even came to check on everyone and make sure our food and experience was satisfactory. Would come again. Thanks.

We've been to Cora's before and expected at least decent food and service.
Service was awful, we asked multiple times for more coffee and the waitress would send a teen/child our way who would ask everyone around us if they want coffee and completely ignore us. Then we watched as a couple asked if they could sit in a booth and the manager yelled across the room that booths are just for three or more. The same manager walked around the whole time being aggressive to people with concerns. Food itself was mediocre, crepe and pancakes were bad.

The Manager was arrogant and rude. He acts as server and took his time to take the order. When asked about the delay and lack of staff, he raised his voice, and even said we could leave if we were not happy with the service. We left without finishing our juice and coffee, and were charged for it.

Got food poisoning from their smoked salmon omelette; their staff was nice enough but the food made me puke, gave me an awful headache and diarrhea. Would not go again.

Our server Luc was phenomenal. We visited with our toddler this morning, and he greeted us immediately. Our coffees were never more than half empty without being topped up, he provided great recommendations, and attentive but not pushy service.

Will 100% be back!

The Cora in downtown Ottawa has a great staff. Couple that with great breakfast options I'll be visiting this outlet again!

We are from out of town and I personally have never been to a Coras.

Amazing service, they made us feel like we're regulars, they even gave us a section by ourselves because we had our baby with us.

Quick made to order food, absolutely delicious.

Maybe a bad day for them. Got the order completely wrong. Brought tea with Luke warm water. Took forever. Thought it being a well known chain that expectations would be predictable.

They have fresh fruits and the food is good but they need to solve the staffing problem. It seemed like they were under staffed, considering the amount of time it was taking for them to get orders out and the mess ups with orders.

Looking for a great breakfast was a bit More challenging in Ottawa than expected. Near the hotel we came across coras. The outside wasn't super inviting, but we decided to go in anyways. Decor was kinda like a Bob Evans slash waffle house. It was pretty empty due to the mandates and protests but they had a TV that displayed their menu and how they make it. This should be showing outside because it showed not only quality ingredients freshly made, but just a very diverse, delicious menu. Service was on par with like an ihop or something. Menu was pretty large with a major focus on crepes and French toast with fresh fruits. The food was pretty good, again on par with like an IHOP or something, but the display and fresh fruits and toppings were well above anything I've had in america. While eating we looked around and found a wall with black and white pictures of a little girl named cora who baked as she grew with a focus on breakfast. The history def sold us on this place. If in Ottawa again we will have breakfast here atleast once. We took some hot chocolates to go, and they are worth a shout out as well. Very smooth and creamy. Not overly chocolate, was made fresh and really hit the spot walking around in 3 degree weather.

What a shame: I love Coras, but the service here is abysmal. The manager was acting as server with no other staff to help. He also moved pretty slow and clearly favoured larger tables that would be giving a relatively larger tip. I waited 15 minutes to even be acknowledged and then decided to leave. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I did actually want the food - and ordered via uber eats at my hotel. They still got my business, but I guess missed out on the tip.

Advice to management: People will wait FOREVER for their food if they're even acknowledged when they sit down. Just take peoples orders or indicate you'll be over shortly. Being ignored doesn't set a good tone for the rest of the meal when you're spending money in an establishment.

Don't be fooled by the 4 out of 5 that I gave them. I gave 4 because of covid and all. I did not like my experience and hope never to go back. It wasn't the worst but it was not good enough. I didn't really feel welcome. The waitress was nice but she got both our orders wrong. The fruits were not fresh at all, the gauffre was drowned in custard (why not put it in a bowl and let the customer decide how much they want?), the omelet had no taste (how can you make something with goat cheese and mushrooms and eggs and it won't have any taste?). The menu is not well taught in my opinion. I hope they improve.

Had a very good breakfast. The place was packed with guests. Kids loved? It. Staffs are extremely friendly and attentive.

I had the pancakes and my buddy had one of the big meals with a little bit of everything on it. Pancakes were good, just enough. My friend said he liked everything on his plate; crepe, eggs and potatoes. My buddy liked it so much, he went back the next day. The place was clean and the service was spot on.

Five stars all the way. The two gentlemen that looked after us where great. The food was nicely done and service was top notch. By the best Cora we have ever experienced. Keep up the great job guys.

TLDR: Employees shouldn't make assumptions on who can/cannot afford French toast

After a long nightshift I attempted to use the washroom and was immediately interrupted by an employee by the name of Collin from using the washroom. He demanded that I should leave the restaurant unless I bought something from their menu which I was already going to do but the hostility to which Collin treated me was more than inappropriate. As a 6'2 African male, I have reason to believe that because of my clothing and appearance the same employee would not reacted with said hostility towards a different customer i.e a little girl or even an elderly man needing to use the restaurant. I don't know if it was because he believed I was homeless, couldn't afford the food, or something else, I was too furious to ask.

Also after I already stated that I would buy something, Collin murmured "You better" right before I entered the washroom. Not customer friendly at all.

After leaving the washroom, I insisted (with some profanities that I did apologize for in the end) Collin's behaviour needed to change seeing as it almost lost them a customer and has the risk of losing many more potential customers. Luckily the cook was friendly enough to hand me a menu and I did end up ordering some food.

The food is great. Initial customer service was less than desirable for a returning customer. I'm disappointed that I will most likely never return because of this incident.

Again, the food is great. I'm sure Collin will welcome you with open arms as long as you're not a cold, tired, tall hooded black man with a covid mask on. Enjoy the food!

Ordered takout on a Saturday morning during lockdown. Very quick pickup time. Food was perfect and service was friendly

Not worth the price (very expensive, but terrible service). I ordered the sunshine panini crepe and they forgot to add the cheese making it a plain crepe with egg and bacon (and this was the gluten sensitive option, so it was plain buckwheat-sorghum flour, which is more bitter). Some of the grapes in the fruit bowl had mold on them and a lot of the berries were very old. Also, the hot chocolate they give for delivery is just hot water and a powder packet. Some of the food I've ordered in the past was good, but it is definitely overpriced. They could really do better with the prices they charge. I don't think I'll be ordering from here again.

Unfortunately due to covid you can't dine in but this the best way to enjoy cora breakfast, last week I went to ottawa and I ordered cora from ubereat, u was surprised and not disappointed at all. My favorites are: Peggy's poachedFresh fruit, cottage cheese and one egg or the Gargantuan feast
2 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, Canadian peameal bacon, a blueberry pancake and potatoes. All served with your choice of toast.

Currently in COVID-19 self-isolation and ordered through “Skip the Dishes”. No problem with delivery - except for 1 hour wait due to the restaurant - and discovered I was missing the hollandaise sauce and fudge from my “Crepeomellettes to Share” for 4 people. Tried calling the restaurant to resolve the issue. Was dealt with very rudely and with profane language when the man I was speaking with hung up. I called back and he told me to call back in 5 minutes. Now the restaurant will not take my calls. I love Cora, but this type of poor customer service is unacceptable. I will never eat at your restaurant or order from you again. I recommend using other Cora locations.

The food in Cora in Byward Market in Ottawa was very yummy. Service was really good too. It has always been a good experience for us whenever we eat here or at chez cora in Montreal

Food and service were great as expected. Covid distancing between tables was not. Would have expected a barrier between booths that butt against each other.

If you have long enough time to wait to get your order to deliver and it is the best place. They are super slow. I would definitely not recommend it.

The customer service was mediocre at best. They barely spoke English and took a while to notice customers although some waiters/waitresses were nice. The food was under cooked and tasted plain.

The quality itself did not match the price we ended up paying. The items were not elevated to a gourmet level in taste. Presentation was fine, but honestly, go to a local diner, pay less, get the same flavors.

Breakfast place close to Byward Market. Very busy at 9am on a Sunday morning meant Service was a little slow.

Good choice of menu items. I had the Western Omelette with potatoes and multi grain toast. Chocolate pancakes were also ordered. Plenty of coffee refills and water at table. Food portions were good and of high quality.

Access was good. Menu is s little small to read but many pictures provide clues.

Fresh served breakfast. I ordered Gigi it was amazingly fresh and well done.will visit back again for sure when ever I will be in Ottawa. Shout out to the person serving Jamii Beiber. Very friendly, bright and energetic.

I went here with a friend because we were just craving breakfast food. This place is excellent. The servers were very accommodating and patient when I decided to "build my own order" because I wanted to try a little of everything. My order was french toast with berries and 2 sunny side up eggs with salmon on the side. Didn't disappoint! I would have to say my friend and I enjoyed every bite. The coffee that we ordered before the food was ok though.

I very like. Chicken and Asparagus skillet very yummy. Washroom cleaner than my mouth, so very nice. Sergio is very nice too. He make very good food. I like too much. I recommend to my colleagues at Parliament.

Not the most healthy place to eat when you can have your calorie intake for the day in one meal. But what a meal it is.

We stayed in downtown Ottawa for a few days and were lucky enough to find Cora's, a block away from the Chateau Laurier! Tons of selection, lots of fruit and large portions! A great way to start the day! Thx Cora's

Worst service ever. Very slow. After a 40 min wait the waitress tells me that the crew is still working on my scramble egg and toast. They are ridiculous.

Cora’s has a great breakfast place. I just went on a Ottawa Trip from the 14th to 16th and the food @Cora’s for breakfast was great.
It was also very easy to get to from Downtown Ottawa. It’s finally quiet and a nice place. I highly recommend you to go to Cora’s for breakfast or lunch.

Personally wasn't too great of a breakfast experience. Maybe because it was busy, but my Eggs Benny was a little cold, and the hollandaise sauce was a little bland and way too thick. I'll definately come back when it's less busy, but I'm probably going to avoid the hot food options

Just witnessed the manager/owner yell at a young tour guide because the tour/she was 15 minutes late during rush hour in front of everyone.

Can't beat a breakfast place. Wish it was open later. Service is good but the interior needs redesign.
