Cora Breakfast and Lunch

Worst all around experience i've ever had at a breakfast restaurant. Waited over 40 mins to be seated (understandable, it was busy). Then waited even longer for food and it was cold and not right. Forgot a bunch of things we asked for. Save your time and money and don't come here.

Not cheap but food is great and menu is huge.
Service is very good.

Kids running the place, they’re enforcing whatever software they’re using on customers.
We’re a family and can’t sit together, order together, eat together… etc

We were at Cora's today with 3 adults, 1 teenager and 3 children, including my 2 Littles who are 4 and almost 6.

Our server, Heather, did a phenomenal job of attending to all of the requests from our rowdy group, including extra crayons, and creating a specially requested item (a bowl of strawberries with a side of crème anglaise), with a big smile and a mountain of patience.

We will definitely be returning again soon.

I’ve dropped in for breakfast a few times while in town for my son’s university exams and this location is excellent, with above and beyond experience from the greeting, to seating, food prep, timing and delivery, wait staff checking in and ensuring perfection…. I don’t recommend anything very often publicly but this location consistently out performs expectations and it’s so nice to see pride in work and efforts. Special thanks to Heather the server and her excellent team.

Update for 2023, not better perhaps worse.

Decided to return hoping for a better experience, sadly, no. Service continues to decline while prices continue to go up. Family of 4 with 2 young kids approaches $100 for breakfast.

I ordered the western skillet. The skillet came with no egg. I waited 10 mins for the waitress to return and offer to get a new one. 20-25 mins later my skillet finally arrived after everyone at the table had finished their food.

Not a big deal because it can happen anywhere but when I put cream into my coffee the cream curdled.

What is a bigger deal, as I was waiting on my meal to return I watched the busser clean up the table across from us. Accidentally he dropped the salt shaker on the floor. To my dismay he picked it up, didn't disinfect it and put it right back on the table for the next patrons to enjoy. Yuck.

For safety reasons I cannot return.

Let me first say this, I have been to Cora's and specifically this location many times. The food has always been excellent as well as the service. During the pandemic I have ordered take out and was pretty happy with that as well. I understand there are new owners and what appears to be new staff. Regular servers that I have come to know are no longer there.

That brings me to my experience today. Family in from BC and we decide to go for a nice breakfast. Poor choice as it turned out.

Things that went wrong.

1) Coffee didn't arrive until 15 mins after we arrived and ordered. Ordering / service probably took 10 mins after arrival.
2) Toast arrived 10 minutes before meals.
3) Smoothies took 25 minutes to arrive for the kids. We were also advised after waiting 15-20 minutes that there was no yogurt available to put in them.
4) Meals (4 adults 2 kids) didn't arrive at the same time. I waited for 5-10 minutes for my food while others were eating.
5) My wife's eggs Benedict had broken hollandaise sauce. It was literally chunky and off color.
6) One of my over easy eggs came broken and hard.

On top of that we had to be our own server. We had to go to the service station to request:

1) butter and syrup (kind of needed for pancakes and french toast)
2) salt / pepper

We also had to flag our server down for ketchup.

I was literally embarrassed that I took my guests here. When you pay for premium breakfast at least be able to cook eggs properly and not send out obviously poor quality food.

Disappointing to say the least.

Visited this location for a second time with family of 8 people. Everyone was happy with their meals.

This was in St. Catherines. Extremely slow service. And the same menu item at a Toronto Cora's was a larger serving of strawberries and sauce and the french toast was bigger than here. Very disappointing

Disappointed with quality. Cora’s use to have fresh quality and different meals. The St. Catharines location did not have some of the ingredients in their menu, the fruit was obviously not fresh and should have been trashed. The meat omelette was very sparse on the meat. The price very high for what we received. Do not recommend. Although the waitress was nice.

Ordered brunch from here. They forgot half my food and what I did get was inedible. I had shell in every bite of my eggs, the potatoes were somehow under cooked and burnt with no flavour. Worst meal I've ever had by far, and it was expensive too.

Great atmosphere, great service, food was subpar, not very hot, or even warm including the coffee, was my first visit to the famed Cora's for Breakfast, expected much more, sadly, not impressed

Food was great and table service was more than fine. Food was slow to come out but good when it arrived
