This hospital is an absolute joke. I came via ambulance and got put in the waiting room. Why did they not tell us this at my home before making me for a ride when I own 2 vehicles. They don't tell you anything. Oh the triage nurse shrugged his shoulders at me. What a joke. This hospital does not have a single care about its patients. There going through the motions at best. I have zero respect for this place. I truly wish it bad things.

Calling the hospital was a rude experience they hung up one my nose because I asked for an appropriate waiting time

Very surprised at how fast I was seen. Everyone was very patient and helpful respectful and I appreciate the attentiveness I received. Very pleasantly surprised.

They only have sugar free and zero caffeine sodas in the vending machines D:

New born son was sick and waiting since 4 hrs as I am writing, no doctors to see patients. At least they should have concern for new borns and infants to check faster.

When you will come for emergency you will got to know they Don't have minimum standards of caring patients, as they normal waiting time will be average 9/10 hours, one of my mate he has waited 17 hours then doctors saw him, Don't we think Its right time to solve this issue Asap & make our community feel comfortable while visiting Hospitals,
Cheers

Unnecessary wait times absolutely ridiculous I'm sitting in the waiting room with BP of 175 over 97 for hours and the room is full nobody is being seen

If i went there you would find me dead. This hospital will send you home saying you fine every time UNLESS it is visible. My Stepfather went there cause he was having abdominal pain and losing alot of weigh. They said he was fine sent him home. Then when visiting family in Toronto they force him to go, turns out he has pancreatic cancer. The doctors here need to start taking their job more seriously. I know Covid was hell but PEOPLE WILL DIE if they dont smarten up.

Went in for a knee surgery, all the nurses, doctors, and staff were extremely friendly and made me feel very comfortable. It felt like they really went above and beyond to make me feel taken care of during a stressful time. The place was very clean and I didn't have to wait much. The complimentary popsicle was the cherry on top

Went to the hospital because ive been having seizures, did all my testing all was fine, but once i had responsibilities as a parent and told them i had to pick up my kids. The nurse i spoke to said i had to stay i explained that i have children that i must pick up i had already been there for 10hrs and i had to go. She followed up by saying i had to sign a paper saying i was going against drs orders so i said just call me and let me know about my refferal im not signing this just call me. She replied were not going to call you. Nice to know this hospital really cares

went to er for heart pain from my pericarditis and im left in a chair without any help clearly visible that im in pain and its causing me extreme discomfort i tried to lay down to relieve pressure on my heart after four hours of stabbing pain shooting thought my abdomen and im told im not aloud and if i continue i will have to leave the worst er ever

I’m currently at the hospital brought in by ambulance at 2am with sever abdominal pain to the point I can’t walk. Then when I get here I’m placed I the waiting room hunched over in pain and what I’m being told is that there is a bed shortage. I’m sorry but i would suggest going to a different hospital cause this hospital you will probably die waiting to get seen

A few months back I came to the ER with severe increasing pain from a root canal. I arrived at 1: 30 am. The ER had two moms with babies, and 5 others. When my wait was at the 6 hour mark, without being seen, I began to ask the others how long they had been waiting. I also noticed that the one nurse who was at the front when I checked in, was gone from her post for the later 2 hours, leaving the front completely empty of staff. I then learned from the two elderly women that they had been sitting there waiting for 13 hours. A young man with a serious medical issue had been there for 10 hours. The first crying baby was seen at hour 5, the second baby was just going in at the 6 hour mark. Many said that the known wait times for the ER are around 15 hours. Many adding stories of family and friends reporting recent 17-23 hour wait times. This is third-world levels of care. I went home without being seen, my back wrecked from sitting in an uncomfortable chair all night long. Someone in government needs to intervene to solve this. Maybe get back the staff that were improperly fired, due to the misinformation propagated by politicians regarding the “vaccines” (Gene therapy).

I am at the hospital right now and I decided to write this while I wait. I always have anxiety when going to the hospital and the Cornwall community hospital staff has always been warm, hard working, compassionate and kind. I feel beyond blessed to be treated by such great nurses and for the most part the doctors have been amazing as well. They do not get enough praise for all that they do. Yes, you may have to wait long sometimes but the staff here are doing their best. Thank you so much to all the staff here at the Cornwall Hospital. I appreciate you so much! You are doing such a good wonderful job with helping everyone in the community.

This hospital has to be the slowest one in Ontario. Can't wait to get back to Toronto. It's a sad state. Never again will I come back here. I'll drive further to a better one.

3 Extremely Unprofessional Staff members The triage nurse told me to shut up and move out of her way before I even spoke or sat down The Doctor had the wrong file with the wrong name and so he lost it on me being very disrespectful and the gentleman reading my test results who told me he wouldnt book my specialist appointment bcz I dont take care of myself.please fire the staff members that disrespect the sick or dying this is unnacceptable and sad

My husband was admitted to the hospital for a knee replacement, it was suppose to be day surgery but had minor complications and he was therefore admitted for a few days. I cannot say enough good things about the service and care he received. We are so fortunate to have a hospital of this quality in our community.

I took my wife into the CCH Emergency Ward on Sunday Morning for a Dislocated Shoulder at 10: 20am. Seeing that it was still dislocated and her being in excruciating pain she was treated immediately. With Registration, Exam by Drs, then Xrays, Sedation and Re-set of the Shoulder, I was sitting with her during her coming out of Sedation and the procedure completed by 11: 18am!
WOW. Granted it was very quiet in the Emerg Ward on Sunday Morning, the Reception and Treatment received by my Wife and towards myself from everyone was OUTSTANDING!
Their care for the both of us was just downright super efficient and totally Respectful.
Thank You and Congratulations to Cornwall Community Hospital.

I was in the hospital for surgery which included being admitted for a few days. From pre arrival to departure, the quality of professionalism, compassion & care was outstanding!

I arrived on the 9th at 8 pm there were 13 people in front of me, it's already the 10th at 1.53 am and there are still 5 people and they haven't been calling anyone since 0.00 am. They will only start again at 7

I hated it.

I am appalled by hearing of one of your trainees dropping a 82 year old woman on the floor transferring her from one bed to another! And 6 weeks of home care cause of this! Crazy!

This review does not reflect the professional care of doctors and nurses who work so hard and are running due to understaffing. The wait times are inexcusable. You forget we’re in a first world country while sitting in the ER. It is a sad state of affairs and it’s hard to imagine things getting any better without significant changes coming from the province. Not to mention all the walk in clinics closing. Hopefully if you get sick, you have enough money to seek private care outside of Ontario (ie. USA) because you might die in this waiting room or be sent home without thorough evaluation. Floors are filthy and triage is no where to be seen for hours at a time.

I don’t leave many reviews but when you’ve experienced a steady decline over the years, the only way things can change is with feedback from members of the community. I’ll be emailing the MPP and encourage anyone reading this with a similar experience to do the same.

It is a torture facility.please go somewhere else.don't bother suffering and wasting your time

Update: - nobody cares in this torture facility. Going home without seeing a doctor waiting for literally 12 hours. They just want you to die in the waiting room.

Brutal, waited and waited, first visit was not successful, second visit same nahhh. On my third and same. I have a feeling they care and at the same It makes me think that maybe they also
don't care in getting people the help they need asap

Has to be the worst. Let me first add that some of the staff are absolutely the best and regardless of gender epidimize their profession. 5+ stars to them! The rest is abysmal. The place itself is way too overcrowded, congested, poorly laid out, dirty and beat up. This all after spending mega millions to a major reno and expansion. A lack of space and design results in patients, hospital beds, visitors, medical equipment, linen carts, and you name it clutering the hallways with some less necessary corridors completely clogged with assorted equipment. Staffing is disorganized, understaffed in some areas and clearly run by completely incompetent management which appears to be excessively top heavy. Maintenance and cleaning staff find places to hide. When questions are asked or comments are offered, the response is not my dept.or don't want to rock the boat. An easy fix is to kick out all the desk jockeys and bureaucrats out of the building
and put them in an annex or even the closed school across the street. Management simply circles the wagons. I won't go into the details of how even after three attempts, the wrong meds arrived. One doc even prescribed medication that would have acerbated the condition. Obviously I am being purposely vague to hide my identity in what is still a small town. Hopefully someone from the ministry in the form of an auditor will come in to clean up this mess.

If I could give it a lower rating I would.
I was 3 hours from cornwall at work, I have a 10 month old at home and my wife was having a medical emergency, I asked my neighbour to look after our daughter while I sped home, the ambulance took her, disregarded her request to give her the cellphone that she had on the counter, dropped her off and left her with a vomit bag, she was there for 3 hrs not seen until I got there, she was crying and just wanted to go home, she was denied something as simple as a phone call because it was “long distance” as I have a 416 number. That’s not long distance, it’s Toronto. This is getting reported tomorrow and I really feel bad for everyone else there. Our healthcare system is a piece of s*it, especially in cornwall.

Management should be fired. Worst hospital in all of Canada. Second behind the health clinic at the corner of Park Place and Filthy Place!

If I could give 0 stars I would.husband went in the other night with excruciating back pain got our ticket at the kiosk at 1: 20pm didn't get registered until 2: 06pm, that's problem #1, problem #2- he told them that he can't stand the pain anymore, they never offered anything for pain management. Problem #3 after 8 hrs of waiting they STILL didn't offer anything for pain. Problem #4 the nurse who triaged him at first said not to eat anything so he didn't, after 12 hrs of waiting STILL I made the nurse reassess him and by then all they gave him was 2 tylonal & 2 advil and then that nurse said he can eat something. BUT the venning machienes were down and nurse said we can always order something.who in their right mind wants to spend more $ to order food to an emerg and still wait to see the Dr. I understand it is emerg and expect to wait but when there's people coming in laughing and giggling and only waiting half hour then being brought to the back it's ridiculous.everytime I asked how much longer because by the we were already there for 12 hrs the nurse was getting angrier at me for asking how much longer she even made a statment "you just seen that i sat down i dont know how much longer" and was very rude about it.by hour 13.5 we gave up and went home.this is ridiculous they made my husband suffer with back pain by making him sit on a hard chair that has plastic between the chairs making it so uncomfortable no pain meds until 12 hrs of waiting and refusing to call his name.this hospital is horrible and staff treat you poorly and don't care about patients pain
