I recently ordered an item that was on sale from the website (Arturia Keystep Pro to be exact). While my credit card was charged immediately, I never received an update regarding the item. After almost 2 weeks i decided to give them a call and follow up, only to learn that the transaction is being cancelled. Customer service told me the item is 'no longer available' and that i should speak to the keyboard department. She transferred me over, but i got to leave a VM for them.later on i received an email notifying me of the cancellation due to the fact that the entered information does not match the information on record with the financial institution, which is pure nonsense!
The most disappointing part is that this isn't the first time I have experienced an order cancellation. A few years back I ordered a Blackstar guitar amp head that was on a pretty decent sale. I have no doubt that both these items were cancelled because COSMO refused to honor their sale/reduced offer! Terrible way to do business.
Do NOT trust the prices you see on their website (especially on sale items).

The keystep pro was a Xmas gift and I could've bought the same item from Long & McQuade. I'll be sure to take my business only to L&M from now on.

My mom was an avid amateur flutist who purchased what she thought was a Yamaha 481 from Cosmo a number of years ago. She recently moved to an assisted living home and is no longer able to play. As her daughter, I was asked by mom to sell the flute. When I approached a professional about this, we discovered that mom paid for a 481 and received a 381. We have the original box and the original sales tag. It is very disappointing to think that my mom was taken advantage of in this way.

The shopping experience here is quite nice with some good ambience and a nice "market"-esque aesthetic.

The repair shop here is quite poor in my experience. I once paid $120 to get my clarinet cleaned and got it back just as dirty and with bent keys.

Wow, The real music instrument superstore.

All inclusive, you would find everything you want related to music.
They offer rental area, and I guess the offer repairing as well.
The only downside was they don’t offer many digital instruments.

Wow! This superstore is impressive. Their guitar selection, both acoustic and electric, is massive. There's a drummers room and a small record shop with a few books. Merch includes tees, stickers, and lots of small items for gifts. There is a Starbucks, but it's never open. Side note: bring earplugs for the occasional obnoxious player!
Great Store! You gotta see it to believe it.

Absolutely abysmal experience with their shipping department. Tried to order parts from their Richmond Hill location to my home in downtown Toronto and the parcel went all the way to Montreal before arriving a week later with only 2 of the 5 items I ordered. Still waiting on the other 3.

Traveled 30+km just to test some guitars, which are according to their site, are in stock, but they told me they are not available. I felt they were just lazy to bring out the guitars from the storage.

I started sax lessons with Jack and he was extremely patient for me as it was my first time learning. Unfortunately, my work schedule changed and I had to find a new teacher. Very happy to have him as my first teacher and teach me the basics.

Don't bother with their online Black Friday sales - when you confirm an item is in stock (online and by phone!) they still let in-store customers scoop the order the next day! Which you only find out by calling 4 days later! "Oh, sorry, the strings on your order were out of stock and back ordered. "

What's the point of reserving online if they don't reserve it? As a long time Cosmo customer, I'm very disappointed. Cancelled my order, and won't be ordering online from them again. Solo Music is easier to deal with. Invest in a new system. Cosmo, and get your logistics right. Your competitors do.

Only give one star because their staff i chatted with were polite and as helpful as they could be.ordered a mandolin november 16.told it was in stock.they charged my card etc.when i contacted them today was told it was not in stock and earliest arrival end of december.i should have been told 11 days ago and my card not charged.not best pleased.update, changed to 4 stars.got an amost immediate email response from david at cosmo on this issue.was able to telephone him and discuss things, he offered an appropriate price adustment (black friday weekend etc.) and said he'd be checking out what happened.all in all feeling better about this

If zero was an option, that would be my rating. The security guard was the only polite person in the store. The guys in the drum boutique completely ignored me and then the older guy instructed the cashier to credit him with my sale. The cashier was beyond rude. Openly arguing with a coworker and leaving me standing there with my items even though I was the only customer in line. During my second purchase moments later, she was consistently rude and didn't even bother to wrap my purchase. Besides the rotten tomatoes service, their inventory was a huge disappointment compared with the offering on their website. Do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else or online.

Ordered online and did a curbside pick up, so far the process was smooth.
The box seems to be opened and re-taped, when I asked I was told that the box was opened for their own QA check. As it is a gift, I am not going to open until Dec 25th, hopefully everything is fine inside and it wasn't something somebody returned.if everything goes well I will give them 5*.

Amazing experience with Cosmo! Bought (one of the first in Canada) a Fender Acoustasonic; ordered on Thursday afternoon, was at my place in Quebec by 9a.m. Monday. Perfectly packaged, and very nice set-up, was even in tune when I took it out of the box. Impressive service for sure.

I have been a Cosmo's customer since their old Yonge Street days, and have been of their most prominent customers buying many instruments from this location. However, the Hulk Hogan type individual they have placed at the front who is unreasonably fanatical about hand sanitizers is a turn-off. Someone needs to tell him to calm down.

First time there, great place for all musical things, but all the staff working in the store will not be service you when you walking around in the store, you've to ask those people for help if need, but you've to find the right department to ask otherwise others department staff will not be help if you are at the wrong department, but since you ask the right staff at the right department, they're very knowledgeable and helpful.

My favourite music store. Awesome service, extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Unbeatable selection and many high end hard to find brands - Suhr, Anderson, Duesenberg. Something for everyone. High tech and innovative - what other store has a sound isolation room and a performance theatre? Service department is quick and does great work. Everything all under one massive roof. Can’t wait to see after the new Reno’s are done.

This has got to be one of the coolest music stores I've ever been in. They have tons of records, music books and instruments. What's great though is if you can't find what you're looking for in the store you can order it online and have it shipped to the store. On top of that all of the staff is super friendly and they just want to help you find what you need. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

I've had a terrible experience with the two purchases I've made here. The first purchase I made, which was over three weeks ago, still hasn't been shipped yet. Everytime I ask about it they either tell me "It'll ship by the end of today/tomorrow" or that "they're just waiting on some parts of the order". On top of that I cancelled my other order over a week ago and I still haven't been given a refund. This has been the worst customer service I've ever had the misfortune to experience. I highly recommend people buy from Long and Mcquade or some other local music shop. Cosmo Music is very unreliable and should only be used as a last resort.

Delivery was very good, ordered a guitar at 6pm on Thursday, it was ready for shipping on Friday, picked up by Purolator on Sunday and was in Owen Sound by Monday and at my door by noon. Guitar was as advertised and shipping box was good. I am now enjoying it.

Cosmo is no longer a retail music store that cares about its customers, it's a warehouse where they store all the stuff they sell online and in store customers come last. I no longer shop here, there's plenty of other music stores that actually value my business.

I bought a Casio WK6600 76Key Electronic Keyboard and Audio Technica ATH Monitor Headphones through Walmart Online. It came super fast.much faster than the Walmart app indicated. I Love the sound. This is an amazing keyboard with all of its functionality. I am surprised and delighted by the quality of the sound. I am able to make beautiful music in the first 5 minutes. I have a ton more to learn to be able to use all of the different features. This is my new passion/hobby/obsession. These headphones are amazing. The prices were really reasonable for such quality sound. They also threw in a free hat and a 100% guarantee. I highly recommend Cosmo Music!

I experienced a minor hiccup with an order. I contacted Customer Support via chat. Within 10 minutes all was well and sorted and my order was on its way. I felt respected and appreciated throughout the interaction. I won't hesitate to place another order.

Bought a new Seagull guitar for my daughter and asked the repair shop to lower the Action on the strings to normal range (service included in warranty). The repair shop still couldn’t get it done right (below 2.8mm). All they try to do is to ask me to change strings on a newly purchased guitar (more $$$). Crooked store.

Due to Covid my orders took on a very long lead time and I sent an email to see if they could hook me up with some Slipknot Jim Root picks while I wait. Without even sending a response I received the picks in the mail a few days later and it was a really awesome surprise! Thank you Cosmo!

Came to check out Cosmo's after being a long-time Long and McQuade customer and got stung with their return policy on a microphone. They DO NOT take back mics among many other items! This is buried in the website under a 'read more' link - read it before purchasing anything! Problem is, no one informed me of this at time of purchase. Now I'm stuck with a Microphone I don't like. Cosmo's return policy is nowhere near L&M's flexibility. Lesson learned - Back to L&M I go.

Seems whenever I order quality gear from Amazon, it comes from Cosmo. It always comes with extra packaging to avoid damage and arrives a few days before expected. It's probably time to just order direct, as they haven't let me down yet! Thanx Cosmo!

I only dealt with customer service and they were excellent. They spent a lot of time with me to help me and looked up SKU numbers for me. The only concern I have is not alot of items seem to be readily in stock especially lower priced guitar cabs. I would shop there without question. They are very helpful

I found out about Cosmo Music through their connection with Amazon as a supplier. Once I figured out Cosmo had an online presence that was independent of Amazon, I decided to order things directly from them. They have a pretty good selection. The guitar I ordered was packaged extremely well and survived the journey. It is nice to have a Canadian company that can satisfy requirements for all things related to making music.

I've order a guitar through Amazon from Cosmos. I got it in perfect shape less than 24h after the payment was cleared. I am in Montreal during COVID To be honest I was expecting 2 week of transit. AMAZING SERVICE and an even more amazing selection!

Called up to buy a drum set they had on a big sale. Was told there was only one set available and the stand was not included (even though the ad specifically said the stand was included), very disappointing.

Staff at this store are pretty bad. There are a couple of good ones that do try but the rest are very rude and useless. Most have no idea about what they sell, it’s been the same problem ever since they opened this location. There are definitely serious management issues, not sure if managers are inexperienced or just don’t care but whatever they are doing it’s pretty lame.

I spend a lot of money on music equipment and now I just order it online or go to any other music store, there’s no reason why you would need to go to this store and deal with the arrogant staff when you can get anything they have somewhere else.

The selection here is unbeatable, especially for guitarists and producers! The prices are generally really good with some outliers. Love the website. I shop here all time. The staff are nice and knowledgeable.

Finally made the hour-long trip to Cosmo with the full intention of buying a second drum set (also wanted to compare an 18 inch kick with a 20 inch kick), check some cajon pedals and maybe a new crash cymbal. Waited around the drum section for over half an hour without either of the 2 sales reps even acknowledging my presence. There were only 2 other customers there at the time. One guy was "busy" giving a demo of an electronic kit to 2 girls who were more interested in giggling and flirting, while the other was noodling away on a practice pad at the checkout. The one rep actually walked around me without so much as a word or polite "excuse me". I left for the audio room where I was helped almost immediately, got my items and decided to return to the drum room once again just to see if I would be helped. On the way back I saw noodle guy chatting with the same 2 girls near the Starbucks. They were laughing and telling him he should get back to work. I hung around the checkout in the drum room once again waiting for assistance. It was empty, no customers except me. Both the reps were behind the counter chatting and again, they didn't even say hello or offer help. I was completely ignored. Maybe because I'm a female drummer? Don't know. I was looking at oak custom Yamaha shells ($2,400 right next to the checkout, so they couldn't have missed me looking at it) another DW kit and some other items but just couldn't bring myself to buy anything other than my audio stuff due to the HORRIBLE customer service. Nice selection of instruments and goodies but if you can't be bothered to acknowledge your customers after almost an hour, you are going to lose alot of potential sales. I had the $$$ in my pocket but they won't be seeing me again.

Man! There's a coffe shop inside the store! Knowledgeable staff to offer great advice and fast service righ through checkout. Massive inventory covers the whole spectrum of musical needs. Great prices. A REALLY good and well rounded music store.

One of the biggest musical instruments shop in Toronto, together with Long&McQuade. I like their drum, guitar, acoustic piano, and orchestral instruments section, but the lineups for keyboard and general audio devices are limited. Make sure you check the price on Amazon before you buy. For example, headphone ATH-M50x cost $249 in the shop, but they are only $150 on Amazon.ca. (2019 Jan 3)

I dropped my baritone (brass instrument) on my instrument case and it was from less than a foot high, but then the metal completely warped in on itself. Absolutely horrible quality metal to make the instruments.

It is truly a Superstore. You can find everything you need in this one place - instruments, thorough consultant advice, workshops with best musicians and clinicians, a lot of learning courses, entertainment in small but cozy hall, and even Starbucks coffee! This past summer Cosmo had done a great job arranging a Cosmo Fest. This is a world class facility with best choice. Highly recommend it!

I've shopped here a few times and rented musical instruments for my daughters music class. The selection is great. Customer service great, the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable plus they are not pushy.
Their prices are reasonable.

Cosmo is the most comprehensive music store and learning centre in the area. My daughter used to take piano lessons there. The book store and the Instrument store are full of articles and equipment.

Great selection of guitars - probably the best in the Toronto area. Prices are competitive (they price match). The staff are friendly and helpful as well. Their annual CosmoFest is awesome!

I was looking at earplugs. A women came up to me and said I couldn't open the packaging for a pack of earplugs. The package had no pictures of the earplugs or a window to look at the earplugs. I would have to another department to get help with it. But she did her job making sure I didn't open the packaging. Later when she left, I saw another package that was already open. Since nobody could help me. I left the store. I was interested in buying earplugs but I think I will go elsewhere. I am not going buy something I can't see or can't get help with. If you want musician earplugs you might want to try the earplug superstore or amazon.ca.

I made an order in store with double confirmed from the staff and paid at the check out one week ago.

If I didn't call them, then I would never know they cancelled it.

I speaked to the manager, but he just passing the bucks. His apologize sounds like bs.

I spent more than $10k at there, I am not saying that I'm their biggest customer, apparetly I am not. But which means you should expect spend more money than me at Cosmo Music then you might being treated normally.

That's how they treat their customer. There are lots of option to buying musical instrument and equipment such as Long & McQuade, Moog Audio, Steves Music, etc.

You don't have to risk for it. Whatever I personally will not spend any money at Cosmo again.

Waited very long to share this experience.

Started in January when I bought my Chapman ML-1 Pro Modern from Cosmo Music. In May i noticed discoloration on the neck. Brought it into Cosmo Music as the pattern the discoloration had was that of mold or diseased wood (it ended up being mold). They said they would look at it and see what the options were moving forward - it was brought up that the neck may be sanded down which was quite obviously concerning because you can't sand diseased wood or mold and expect it to retain its structural integrity, especially when there are six strings adding roughly 160 pounds of tension on the neck.

Anyways, a couple days/a week later I was advised that Chapman would be replacing my guitar - which, quite frankly, should go without saying because it was obvious there was an issue in the finish and the quality control on their end. The mold was growing from inside the neck towards the outside which shows that there's nothing I would have done to cause this.

I was offered to keep my guitar in the meantime while the shipment came in which was a nice gesture, but working in Property Insurance, I'm well aware of what happens to wood when its molded and plus Cosmo Music is 30 minutes away from me so I don't want to go back and forth. Me not accepting the molded guitar while the other guitar is on its way is completely on me.

I had been advised by Chapman guitars on Instagram that I would get a replacement guitar in July. I was then advised by Cosmo Music that the replacement shipment would come in August - sure that's a lot of time and quite honestly something like this should be expedited but what ever I'll wait until August.

Late July comes, I ask if the shipment of Chapmans has arrived, I was advised they would be coming in the first week of August. Perfect, can't wait I'll follow up in a week.

A week passes and I was told that the Shipment of Chapmans did not have my guitar on it. This is obviously upsetting because now I start to get a little worried as to what's going on in the back that's causing delays. I'm not told if a buyer made a mistake or if Chapman's made a mistake - it's up in the air but quite obviously something went wrong behind the scenes.

I'm then told on August 14,2018 that my replacement Chapman guitar would not arrive until another 3 weeks. Sounds good, I'll follow up in September. I follow up in early September to be told that the Chapman guitar will arrive in another 2 weeks.

I follow up 2 weeks later in Mid September and I am told it should be one more week until I have my Chapman. One more week passes and we are near the end of September and still I don't have my replacement guitar.

Finally, today, October 6,2018, after 4/5 months of waiting, and after being told almost week after week that the guitar is coming soon, I have my Chapman guitar - to be fair it came in a couple days ago but I had work so I couldn't pick it up until the weekend.

This whole experience has been an absolute nightmare to deal with and I'm so thankful its over. It's hard to say who's mistake it was that caused this massive delay because when I'd message Chapman Guitars on Instagram, they'd tell me to ask Cosmo Music what's going on, and when I ask Cosmo Music what's going on I'm getting told information that's simply not accurate in regards to timeframes.

When I picked up my guitar today, it's like nothing even happened on their end. No apology in person, only an apology over email. No discussion on whether or not I get a brand new warranty on this guitar since it technically is a new guitar. No offer to have the guitar shipped to my address in the middle of the week as a customer service gesture for the delays and miscommunication. No incentive to keep me around as a customer. I kept my mouth shut to see if they'd surprise me with any of the above to test their Customer Service - Nope. Bought a Helix (Like a fool) since they're the only ones who have it in stock in the GTA and It's on sale and walked out of that store for the last time in my life.

Had an incredible experience at Cosmo Music. I live in the Waterloo region and had poor experiences with the locations in my area. I spoke with of the mangers at Cosmo prior to the 2 hour trek and he mentioned he would make the journey worth my time. Long story short, they did and then some. I even spent twice the amount than what I did at my local music store. (I returned everything there because of my experience) Planning to drop another small fortune next year on equipment and this is now my go to store!

Always finding something there that meets my needs be at something for a guitar pick two on microphone you'll always find a good source of help here.

Earlier in the summer in June they have a very festive organization of Music a small concert of sorts and you must get a bracelet in order to attend and you can see so many lovers of music sharing time together.

I recommend that you go to the store just to get an idea of what to purchase if you're interested in starting and getting into music or looking to get something new for your talent or to try out store as interesting relate out depending on what you're looking for if you want drums there's a section for drums if you want guitar several areas for guitars flutes Piccolo does trombones you name it everything is ideally set out where it should be very helpful staff.

We had drove 1.5 hours to visit this store
When you first walk into the store, it was absolutely amazing. The presentation and display of products was incredible - there is even a Starbucks inside the main section of the building.

After numerous years of playing and entry level drum kit I had brought my son to this store with the intentions of buying him an upgraded set. He was extremely excited and had waited for this day for quite some time.

We were met by the sales rep for the drum section. We proceeded to try out the 3 different floor models which were on display that he had recomended (a previous phone call to them had suggested 10-15 kits would be on display). He proceeded to answer questions for us, when another customer asked him a question. He answered their question and disapeared with them (compleley abandoning us).

We had then discovered another floor model which my son wanted to try. After about a minute of actually trying the kit, the sales rep ran over and very rudely told us that kit was off limits and had been sold (no sign or any warning present on the kit)

We still hung around and waited for the rep to finish up with the other people (45 minutes) when a second sales rep came over and asked if we had been helped. We said yes, we would really appreciate the help.

About 2 minutes into the conversation the original sales guy comes over, interrupts us and tells the rep who’s actually helping us to stop everything - only to help him box up another set for a different customer. That was my breaking point - time to leave.

The crazy part is that we were going to buy a kit - no question, money in hand, but with service like that I just couldn’t do it.

So yes - they have a ton of selection, decent prices however I would gladly spend my money elsewhere for a better customer service and overall experience.
