Costco Tire Centre

I thought Canadian Tire was the worst place to change your tires but apparently Costco is worst. Had an appointment for 9: 45AM, arrived even 13 min earlier. The rep “REMO I” said it would take 1 to 1.5hr from your appointment time. So I figured by 11: 15AM latest we should be done. Did a little shopping at Costco for an hour and 45 min. Went to check on my car and he said they just took it in and it should be another 30min max. 40 min later I go in to check and this other guy with a beard makes fun of me not having a beard then goes and checks on the car. He said in exactly 4.5 minutes go to Bay 2 and your car should be ready. I go to bay 2 and my car is still up on the hoist, I waited another 10min outside in the cold while the mechanic just had to torque my wheels and finally lowered the car. The mechanic Tarek tells me we are short staffed today while rep “REMO I” never said anything about short staff. Time in was 9: 32: 57 Time Out was 12: 07: 53 so 3: 25min it takes then to do just a tire change. Horrible service would not go back again or recommend them to my friends.

Bad place to go for changing tires. Almost 3 hrs waiting for my car. Very disappointed. Poor services and unpleasant staffs. Not recommended.

Made an appointment for 1: 00. Was told it would take an hour or less. It’s 4: 30 now and my car is still not taken in. Just a tire change. So many upset clients here. Completely disorganized. Chatting with every client for 10 min while others are waiting.
This is my last tire change at Costco.

The front desk staffs are awesome. Treats the customer with a smile and are very accommodating.

The reason for 3 stars is this tire technician or could be supervisor named Tarek (baldy one).
I purchased tire and rims online and went to install on 20 October. He decided to join the front desk and serve me. I had the lugnut key and TPMS sensors on my hand to handover.
His first question was ‘why didn’t you put that in the car? ’ in a condescending and charging tone. This got me dumbfounded. I explained this is to help find the small key easily and I didn’t know I am supposed to keep it inside my car.

He was totally rude and inappropriate towards a customer. I spent 2K plus and this is how he treats me? How dares he!

Seeing me uncomfortable, one of front desk managers, came to serve me and what a shift of experience.

Note to mangers: please train him some manners or get rid of him. He’s ruining it for the other well behaved technicians.

I am extremely disappointed with Alex Fernandez who did my oil change today. The other technicians always reset the Oil Life % and do nitrogen tire Inflation when they do an oil change, but this guy skipped those steps.

Rude employees. Very condescending will not be back. Messed up my tires last time and said they had no idea what happened. Another poor experience. Use a mechanic, way less headaches.

Totally agree with a earlier review, why do they require a appointment when they don't follow the appointment times. Had a 9: 45 appt but my vehicle was only taken in at noon and only after going to the supervisor! Tire pressure was set to 45lbs when the label states 32lbs. Good price Poor service

Very accommodating staff. Do everything they can to assist. Very difficult to get an appointment or fit in, when the situation is urgent.

If you get the right person to help you, you’re in good hands here. But more often than not, you’re waiting forever, with no acknowledgment of your presence; updates on your file are treated like state secrets, and you have better luck getting Springsteen tix in a radio contest than getting a phone call answered.

Several issues:
1) Installed tires incorrectly resulting in damage to the van. Wheel weights came loose and we had to take it to a mechanic and spend money to get it fixed.
2) We ordered tires and they gave us an appointment to come in to replace the tires. We took time off of work to go, the tires hadn't arrived and they didn't bother to inform us.
3) Never answer phones and the person at the desk when you go in person seemed confused

Why book an appointment online when they don’t honour appointment times? Their website specifically outlines to arrive 15 minutes before your appointment or you may be bumped from your time and be delayed. I arrived 25 minutes early and checked in. I waited patiently for 2 hours before inquiring about my car. It had not even been put up on the lift to start my tire change. I had to leave and rebook for the following day. Adam the service manager was pretty useless. He told me this happens all the time and there’s nothing he can do. I wasted two days trying to get tires on my car with no compensation. Adam clearly doesn’t value the time of his customers. Im a busy mother and a health care worker. Will never come back to Costco Merivale.

I booked an appointment to instal the new set ot tires and oil change, dropped the car 15 min before the appointment as instructed and was told that it would be ready in 2 hours. I returned in 2 hours and they had not started working on my car. It took them 3,5 hours to install new tires, but guss what, they forgot to change the oil. The oil service light was still on when I got the car back. I checked the oil and it was not fresh. I turned the car back to shop and it took them another hour to change the oil. It took them 4: 30 hours to change oil and tires with appointment, while the same sevice takes one to 1-1: 30 hours in most of the shop with no appointment. It might be cheaper by $20-$40 than other shops, but it doesn't worth extra 3.5 hours of waisting my time. I will never come back to Costco Tire Centre.

Do not order your tires here, they will come in damaged and then get you a different set of tires, with different discounts which was not mentioned. When trying to inquire if my tires had arrived, they will not pick up the phone. Lines in store take awhile as well.

Customer service at the front of the store was exceptional and they were doing everything they could but the fact that I had an appointment booked at 3: 45pm and wasn't able to leave Costco until almost 6pm is just not acceptable. Never again will I get my tires installed here.

Worst customer service! Never answers phone. Ordered tires and they took forever. Only one person working and they were not helpful at all. Do not recommend.

Should have informed customers about tires policy.waited about a month and a half for tires then told i was to follow their tires (must have 4 but told the customer service rep i could only afford 2 at the time so he was fully aware of what i was doing and him taking my money). A new side of costco i will never see again.

INCOMPETENT, I went in on Monday for 4 new tires, they had only 2 at that store and would order 2 more for install appointment on Friday. I arrived on Friday, tires were not ordered and no appointment. See like reviews below!

Went there this morning at 9 am to set up an appointment because I drove over a large screw and wanted to replace my back two tires. The guy at the desk set up the appointment told me he only had one set of michelin whatever tires that matched my rims and I agreed to the job. Went back at the scheduled time to get my tires replaced, only to find out that they either sold the tires I was supposed to have mine replaced with, or they simply never bothered to even check their inventory to see if they had them. I sat around at home all day with a leaky tire waiting for my appointment, when I could have just went to an actual shop with actual mechanics not tire guys. Very unprofessional and a complete waste of my time.

Just exploring the prices of the tires. Compared with the other stores or warehouses, Costco is the best option for summer tires

Around noon today, I went to Costco Nepean and stopped by the automotive to see the price of oil change. I tried to find out the price on the wall but I couldn't, so I asked a middle-aged person at the counter. I think my verbal expression was quite polite but his response was quite disappointing. He didn't see my eyes, didn't answer and just pointed to the price poster on the wall with his chin in a very annoyed manner. I kept asking about the price of another oil change option and I realized I shouldn't have.
If an option if select '0' star rather than 1 star, the man deserves 0 star.

Friendly and Cheap! Went in Late May so probably better then the winter to summer tire change seasons most of the bad reviews seem to reflect.

No issue getting the job done as I went in the middle of January, but workmanship was questionable. Overall the interaction was fine, but when I put the wheels on my vehicles in the spring with the new tires, I noticed that they used a metal tool, probably a flat head screw driver, to remove the old balancing wheel weights that were glued on. This resulted in deep marks in the metal inside my rims. Disappointing sloppy work.

Great experience, the people are super friendly. Had to wait a little long, but it was 100% my fault. I was late for my appointment.

Purchased 4 new rims and 4 new Michelin tires for my VW sportwagen. Costco put the new rubber on the new rims. They did not balance the tires correctly and one of the weights fell off the rim!
Sloppy comes to mind.
Would be curious to see if anyone else experienced issues with rubber on rims, balancing through Costco. I had to spend another $80 today to have the new tires re balanced and no guarantee balance will hold on 1 of the rims, as 1 rim seems to have a wider diameter when 'hop' centering. I may have to return my Costco online rims due to this problem.

Didn't have what I wanted, but the gentleman at the desk went above and beyond while trying to provide assistance to me.

Staff were friendly but service, specifically wait times, were inadequate. Bought four tires and booked appointment for installation a week after purchase.

Showed up at 1: 30pm for a 2: 00pm appointment. Was told it would be an hour and half. Didn't get my car back until 4: 45pm.

**** WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ****

Very bad customer experience at Costco Tyre Center. They took my car for whole day for Tyre Change but did nothing. I called many times for the status update and no one picked the call.
The Employee on the counter i dealed with was very rude and disregards for the customer. I was in queue for 45 minutes in the morning. Initially they mentioned they will server 1st 15 peoples in walk-ins and will be serving the people who bought the tyre from Costco. They later changed the statement that they will be serving only 13 people instead of 15 and also will not serve who didn't buy the tyres from Costco.
They served 1 person who didn't even bought the tyre from Costco which does not comply with the policy they mentioned verbally.
When i insisted and told them the above gaps/my concern. They took my car and told me that they keep the car for entire day. I agreed to keep my car for entire day with them. They mention that they will be calling me when they finish the work.
No one called me. In fact i called them many times but no response.so i thought to revisit and check the status. They didn't do anything with my car.they told me to come back next day and to get in line again.

This was the worst experience ever ever with Costco Tyre Center. I didn't find if they are following any policy/rules what they told in starting. It is all depends on the person whom you are dealing with at counter.

Worst customer experience in Costco Tyre Center at this location. They really need to improve the customer service.
No value for customer's time. We wasted entire day for Tyre change and no service was provided.

I love Costco but they seriously need to improve the tire center experience.they never answer the phone and are almost always understaffed.there should be an employee situated at the desk all the time.

Costco is probably my favourite store ever. I spend thousands per year at Costco Canada. Let me just say that this tire centre is a BIG red mark on Costco's otherwise great track record.

This location never answers their phone. I called every ten minutes for two hours during the middle of a workday afternoon before I got someone on the line. I called in mid-April and the soonest I could get an appointment was May 7 at 12 PM. As I work 9-5, I can't take off two hours in the middle of the day to get my tires changed. I sent my boyfriend in my place with my Costco card and a printout appointment confirmation and they turned him away today, citing "liability" reasons. I've waited more than three weeks for this appointment. They didn't even offer to reschedule. I'm really disappointed with my experience with the Costco Tire Centre in Nepean.

I really enjoy dealing with Costco, great value for the money on virtually everything. It is without a doubt the first place that I look when considering a purchase.

The staff lately have been super. Very helpful. Thank you.
FYI February is low season so a great time to go.

3 times going there to change winter tire because they did not receive my car wheels.
I did an oil change. They did not marque the date for the next oil change.
They gave me a wrong information about rims size.
I will never go there.

I will never do this again. I came at 6 in the morning for a tire change on rims, it took almost 2 hours.
