This has been my Costco for the past 25 years. It's very popular and can get really busy, so check peak times online if you want to avoid the intense times. It's always well stocked, the staff are friendly and helpful. A few years ago, one of my kids tripped on something in the parking lot and fell really hard on her elbow. She was fainting on me, and a young fellow from the automotive/tire garage named Jason noticed - he ran out to help me a very kind and caring gesture.

My family and ran into a racist Karen at the checkout. Rude dismissive and you the term "those people" referring to our mixed skin tones.

Ordered a fridge about a month ago and was given a delivery date. When the fridge arrived we moved all the furniture, emptied our current fridge and turned off the water and removed the water line. When the delivery person saw the fridge they were hauling away, he said "I think they sent you the wrong fridge. " Sure enough, we were expecting a counter depth fridge and the one on the truck was not. When I called Costco I told them we wanted the counter depth version and someone confirmed the exchange and I was given a delivery date for the following Friday.

Friday came and I had not received confirmation of delivery so I called Costco and was told I was sent an email to schedule a delivery time. After a search of my email (even in the trash) I could not find such an email. I was then given a delivery date of the following Wednesday. Luckily we did not move everything around and unhook the water line.

Today is Wednesday and we once again moved all the furniture, food and got the water line unhooked. When the truck arrived we once again received the full depth model! After a phone call to Costco it was determined there was an issue with the description on the website and this fridge is not counter depth. I also did find the counter depth version on the website, so it does exist. Now we are waiting for the resolution department to investigate which I was told can take up to 48 hours. I have had to hook up the water line twice, move the furniture twice, empty the fridge twice and I still dont have the proper fridge. There has not even been a hint of anyone even acknowledging that this has been frustrating from Costco.

This is so easily fixable by Costco but I guess we will wait and see.

Update #1: I was called by the resolution department on Friday and was told their website had now been corrected and I would get a $100 Costco cash card. I said thanks but what about my fridge? The response was that they thought I already had the right fridge. I told them I expected the resolution department would have procured me the correct fridge and had it expedited to my house. After a brief hold I was told to order a second fridge on the website and they would call me in 24 hours with an expedited delivery date. It has now been just under 48 hours and they have not called.

Update #2: The Resolution Department called on Monday (3 days after the time I was told I would get a call. I was told the expedited date would be Thursday which is one day earlier than the date already confirmed. I asked if the first fridge had been refunded and it had not. I also realized the second fridge I ordered is a few hundred dollars more than the first and the extended warranty was 50 more. No sign of the $100 cash card and the amount now is even more frustrating since the second fridge price and warranty was so much more.

Update #3: Fridge arrived on the Thursday ant it was the right one! It is a great fridge and would love to up the stars on this but the Costco customer service has just been the worst experience. I will not recommend anyone buy appliances from Costco.ca. They make so much profit and they have no regard for the actual customer. Still no sign of the $100 cash card either.

Update #4: over a month now, no cash card. Costco does not care.

Update #5 (last one) : finally got my cash card but had to call and explain everything again. This is at least 4 months now since we got our fridge. They need better customer service and better systems to aid in making issues a more positive experience.

We call it the $300 store, lol. It's so hard to keep the bill under that. Great staples and a nice variety of specialty goods. Know your prices, and have fun shopping!

My husband had a medical issue when we were at the Barrie store. The staff were so helpful, kind and supportive. I cannot thank them enough

This Costco has great stuff and staff. The Costco itself is always busy and the visitors are not always fantastic. Try and be kinder.

Bought a recliner that was boxed next to display. Got home not the volour and not powered. Called admin who said model on floor only one, (it was broken).

Ordered baby formula the box came wet soaked and destroyed. The formula was exploded in the box and it was leaking out of the box on my front porch by the door the delivery person left it. We contacted Costco and we are having a hard time with a return or refund. They don’t want to honour there mistakes. I threw out all the tainted formula. We wasted hundreds of dollars. Costco is a corrupt joke. The bottom of the box was so wet it gave out how it got wet I don’t know because the day it was dropped off it wasn’t raining and my porch is covered. White formula powder all over my deck when I picked up the box it was a mess we took photos and threw the formula in the trash. Costco wanted me to pick the wet exploded formula out of the trash out it back into the wet destroyed box and bring it back into the store.

The store is huge is the staff is nice! I really appreciate that good appreciations from clients to the staff are printed out! There is a lot of variety and choices!

Costco is good (for most part) for pricing, quality and volume. Fresh veggies and fruits are MASSIVELY OVERPRICED ALL THE TIME. Awesome return policy. I purchased a Samsung tablet+extra warranty. I got the broken screen replaced fairly quickly hassle free with free shipping to and from. Fully satisfied. Employees in kitchen are nice only until you ask them a question, Then they turn almost evil. Cheese pizza, fries and chicken strips are good. Serving size is great too. Many cash out employees are poker faced grumpies as well. Most staff elsewhere in store are very helpful. With fuel purchase the card is worth it. Hampton house chicken strips are great. Can't buy them elsewhere.

Yes u can save a few bucks.but couldn't find parking on several occasions and just left and went shopping elsewhere.

Costco is not very cheap, do not expect that you purchase stuff here for a fraction of price but for the same money you get better product here.

Good store for Costco members in north side of Ontario, always busy with full parking lot. Store is not as big as it’s in Toronto but you can get all basic items as regular Costco. Don’t forget to enjoy their fires and pizza at end.

Went to self checkout today and received major attitude from the cashier named Vanessa at Barrie location. My membership expired and it’s under my moms business so I said I will put my order under my mother in laws card as she was at the checkout next to me. Vanessa said I can’t use my MILs card with extreme attitude and was shaking her head at me. She then called her manager over and was told it’s fine, her manager asked me why I’m getting upset and I said because I’m being treated with no respect and then Vanessa pretended she didn’t do anything. Over the years I have never had an issue splitting cheques when being with someone with a membership. Beside the fact of that, someone who can’t deal with simple issues shouldn’t be working with customers. She was also very rude to the customers before me. Disgusting customer service.

The tire department at the Barrie location is not very good. The people who take your keys and money are all very nice and helpful.
Once in the last few years when I took my car to change from my winter to summer tires they told me that the tread was too worn and they could not do the work. They should have known when they removed the tires but did not think of telling me.
Two weeks ago it happened again when I took my car in to have my winter tires put on. They told me that one of the tires was damaged and the tread was low. There is a tear in the tire around the inside where it goes over the rim. They either damaged my tire when they removed it in the spring or when they were installing it. They assumed no responsibility for the damage.
On another occasion shortly after having my tires changed over I developed a leak. I took my car into a different Costco and was told that they did not properly seal the tire during installation.
I would not recommend the tire department at the Barrie Costco.
