Costco Wholesale

Used to be a reasonable usual costco store, but now too busy and seems like many unhappy or arrogant staff.

Costco is Costco matter where you go. The people that work here are amazing. No matter how crowded it gets, you always get right through, which makes dealing with the big crowds tolerable.

Wasn't much crowded when I visited, and restocked items as soon as they ran out of stock

My husband and I really like shopping at Costco and when we can't find things at Costco in Kitchener we come to this one where we find different things.

Costco Automotive. Woke up to a nearly flat driver side rear tire yesterday. Glad I went to Costco, got an honest diagnosis. Long story short, instead of having to purchase 4 new winter tires, the leak was plugged. The staff from the very beginning was friendly and proved to be extremely honest. I think if I had gone anywhere else, anytime of the year, I would have been told to shell out the cash for a set of new tires. VERY HAPPY with the outcome. Eventually the money will be spent and it will be at Costco.

I like going to Costco. Lots of great deals, not always listed in their flyer. $1.50 for hotdog and a pop, yum yum.

Great Costco location, amazing pharmacy department. The Costco Pharmacy is a lot better than the Guelph location. The only issue I have at this Costco is the insanity of the vehicle traffic speeding, cutting other drivers off in the parking lot. The staff should be monitoring the safety in the parking lot. Someone is going to run over a person and kill them. Otherwise this location is great!

My 37 yrs and today was my first time in a costco! Wow. For things like ketchup or milk, its not worth it, but restraunt owners, or convienence store owners it is worth their while.liked it for sure!

Lots of great products and the lowest priced gas station in town, if only it wasnt marred by a horrible parking lot design (why not put a roundabout throughout like the Boardwalk plaza did?)

Always excellent service as usual without doubt. Kudos to every employee for striving for 100% customer satisfaction.

One of the best Costco I have visited. Usually not crowded, and the lineups a very manageable. Very well-stocked. Friendly stuff.

It uses to have everything you need for a family house. It lacks a nice latte in the food court but I come here to do my groceries not for drinking coffee.

Didn't have some items. Parking lot is hard to get through. Needs more stop signs for traffic to flow better

Very helpful staff especially the young men collecting the carts today. He very quickly offered to put an awkward large box into my car. The Waterloo Costco has always had helpful staff in my opinion.

Very busy practically all the time, staff are pretty pushy except it's granted considering how many customers they have.

Fast checkout times even during busy periods. Parking lot expansion and a new exit helps alleviate parking anxiety. Gas station and propane at this location.

Have bought my last 2 sets of tires here, had a nail in one, went to see when they could make the repair, they told me to come back in a month. I know they are busy with seasonal change outs but you think they would alot some time in the schedule to service what they sell. Last set of tires I ever buy from them.

They are so efficient at moving people through the checkout. Very friendly and helpful staff. You can get gas there as well.

Busy place with lots too offer at great value for large quantities. Best for buying groceries for groups or families. Service was smooth and efficient. Staff were polite and helpful. Products looked good and were exactly what was expected.

I'm just curious who engineered the newly constructed pork-chop entrance. Considering how black the curbs are after only few weeks I'd say there are number of drivers with curb rash on their rims.

Other then that, probably one of my favorite Costco's to go to.

Its like traveling back in time 20 years.water bottles in the vending machine costs $0.25, a hotdog and drink cost $1.50, and the prices on everything else is ridiculously affordable.

Costco is amazing, crowds and slow check out are major issues in there. Otherwise it's a great spot for families to shop at as you truly saving huge amounts of $$$ buying bulk!
You also can't go wrong with the cheap hot dogs and fries on your way out!

It's a busy place to be hot because people are just go around you and you never know what way they're going I like shopping there

I purchased a bag of peppers and a bag of onions thinking that it was a good price in comparison to other grocery store prices. Unfortunately by the time I threw out the rotten peppers along with the rotten onions it was probably more expensive. The peppers looked good on the outside but they were rotten on the inside. Much the same with the onions.

Not as high quality as it use to be.produce often moldy.
Biggest issue is the upselling for the membership card. Every single time I go in, they constantly harrass me to upgrade. Today, they even tried to trick me over to the customer service by pretending their was an issue with my card (after I paid) I told her straight up that there was nothing wrong with my card and that I was NOT interested in the upgrade. Leave us alone!

I love Costco and shop there quite regularly. The last couple times I purchased the Kirkland brand chicken breasts they’ve been terrible. So tough, hard to slice. Has anyone else noticed this? Maybe they’ve changed suppliers. Cost is still the same if not more.
So disappointing

Costco is very good, no doubt about it. But there is something I want to mention. If you need large quantity of anything be it Burger patties or batteries costco should be the place to go. You cannot buy things in small quantity here. So, if you are a small family then it may not always be the convenient option for you.
Recently they started bringing halal chicken and ground beef which is awesome. I absolutely love their tuxedo cake. I am a regular customer of their gasoline. Yet to try their travel packages, may be someday given that covid situation is getting better.

Out of the two near by! In this i find most of the products then the other one in kitchner and cause if fuel pump i keep coming here!

Very convenient, I finished my shopping and filled the gas for my car with discounted price for Costco members.
Very clean and organized, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Prices are good and affordable.

Best Costco store in the region. Huge with a great selection. Tends to be very busy on weekends so it is best to go on weekdays. Has a gas bar and propane station. Also has pharmacy, optical center and hearing aids. Has a self checkout area so people with small purchases can get out quicker.

Best Costco I've been to in Ontario. Decent selection of vegan items. In the summer there’s some Yves products and recently they have added Gardein chick’n strips as well. The organic strawberries are flavorful and great deals for their frozen fruit and veggies. Tons of parking and great gas bar. The employees are generally really nice. The manager? At customer service is so nice! I forget his name but they are all great over there. Super organized store and nice and new still.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Tonight I experienced horrible customer service by staff memebers at the Waterloo Costco.my niece and myself were yelled at and treated so poorly by Angela and Janice because our masks were falling off our noses when we spoke. Angela has a horrible attitude and made such a huge scene, how she has a job in customer service is beyond me. I recommend anyone going to shop at Costco to go to the kitchener location instead. Very upsetting that customer service is not a priority at the Waterloo location.

I have been with Costco for 4 years always my experience was great however this week the waterloo brought the worst customer service agents on the selfserve machines.i really hope they will invest more on hiring a customer foucs agents and address the current issues otherwise they will loose their customers.totally not happy about the service today

Took my disabled friend shopping yesterday, I do all his shopping except Costco because he's the membership holder. He has multiple breathing issues, and Is on oxygen. We were harassed multiple times for him not wearing a mask, and wanted us to leave if he didn't comply and put on a mask. I took a picture of the covid sign at the front door, incase I needed it. The sign stated that all employees and customers must wear a mask in the wearhouse, but does not apply to people with disabilities or conditions that exempt them from wearing the mask. I'm no Rhode scholar, but from what I read.he was ok to not have a mask on. If you wish to set your own rules (outside of region guidelines) that's fine, but change the sign. Make the sign clearly say. No mask, no entry.no exceptions. Pretty easy. Don't say it's ok for exempt ppl to enter, then harass them multiple times.

**Update**
Sign stating that you follow regions mask exemptions, that you don't actually follow is still up. If you don't intend to follow said mandate, maybe remove the sign or cover the part that has the exemptions. This is very misleading, then to follow ppl around that aren't wearing a mask (in my case, I was surrounded by at least 4 or 5 staff) demanding that they put on a mask. Very embarrassing, for following a rule that the sign at store entrance says is ok. Get your s#$t together Costco.

Poor customer service cashier are very rude with the customer even if are the one whom Brings business to keep open so they can continue working

I've been visiting Costco for well over a decade and have usually enjoyed the visit. Add in COVID, provincial restrictions on essential purchases, and a nice sunny Saturday and you've got a bit of a wild beast on your hands.

1) Ira & Erb roundabout, isn't it now the most dangerous intersection in the region? Traffic to get into Costco backs up atleast a kilometre or more.

2) Inside the warehouse grabbing groceries isn't anything special, but the flow of people walking around being awkwardly socially distant and without communicating, puts a hamper on efficiency, especially as many people are moving at a snail's pace to stay out of others' way, while also being in the way of someone else.

3) gas station lineup is likely 1/3 the traffic volume, price was roughly 1.24 for regular and 78c a litre for propane.

4) garden centre lineup wrapped to the end of the building, and having stood in line, watched gross inefficiencies. One person can pay at a time at one till while they split from their cart outside. Classic grocery store garden centres with multiple full tills outside in a tent? Nope, everyone is guided through stantions in a painfully slow process.

Before saying, well yah it's covid and a pandemic, this was a total zoo. If the point of avoiding covid is an idea, then why not move these people through FASTER, so that they don't need to line up endlessly and potentially get or spread covid in line, purely from the time spent waiting?

Time will tell if this rating will be revised.

Very spacious, prices are fair, staff are super helpful, excellent covid measures in place. If you're u can beat the crowd you are in for a treat. That being said, I would suggest a high altitude jump on to the roof of the place, and enter the building through a skylight, because you have a 86% chance of getting ran over in the parking lot, it's like mad maxes Thunderdome out there.

Costco Waterloo.very neat and clean. Even though it was busy very easy to social distance and organized at check outs.

After being told I could take back flooring after the new big box stores restrictions I was told by Costco I could not return the items with a store manager unwilling to work with me I left the items at the store anyways aswell as the membership card i guess the big box stores makes an extra 100$ off of me today my days of shopping at Costco are done

The eye centre is the worst. I got a pair of glasses there had to go back 4 times to get them tightened the arms are loose and kept going sideways on my face.never getting anything from them again. And not recommend anybody to get their glasses from the Costco eye centre. Staff doesn't listen to whats wrong they agrue with you on whats wrong with the glasses.

Love Costco do most of my shopping there. I have noticed the Scarborough one fruit abd vegetables seems to be turning faster than they use to Also the last 2 times I was there I never got the sake price.

Busy place nice size parking lot but can fill up quick often lines to get gas at there gas station. Quick food at there instore restaurant. Large selection of just about anything from pictures, prescriptions, tvs, bakery, frozen food. Clothing glasses really about anything matresses towels sheets. Quick check out with lots of workers over busy times.

Generally pretty easy getting in and out. They always have enough people on the register to keep things flowing smoothly.

I really love this store, I just wish they had more vegan products. The checkout is amazing, and the staff is always helpful. My beef is with stupid people who have no idea how to navigate the store. Carts everywhere, kids running wild and people just lose their minds over the free samples. It's like they have never eaten before and forget any consideration for other customers. I wish they would stop this nonsense, it causes major congestion, even on weekdays.

We have ordered a treadmill and had a terrible experience with delivery. Agent has scheduled delivery several times and still no one has showed up. Got my item after several calls to costco customer service and to the agent. Guys just dropped it in the garage on a skid. Refused to bring inside saying they cannot do stairs. Luckily there was a space to leave a skid in the garage, otherwise they would have just left it on a driveway. Costco customer service was not helpful in the issue at all. Left a negative review in their website which got deleted.will never order from them anything again.

It's been a while since the last time I was in a costco store. It never worked for us as small family. Too much of the waste, money and stuff. However, i found this store in Waterloo very interesting with great product selections at competitive prices. I do not have a membership but I am considering gettting it.

STOP BUYING GAS HERE! The gas station has extremely poor quality gasoline. I have two different vehicle and both started hesitating and shutting down without much warning out on the highway after a few fill ups at the gas station here. I thought it was my fuel lines or fuel pump causing these hesitations but after replacing fuel filters to no avail, it occurred to me that it's most like the fuel from Costco gas station that is doing it. After switching over to another gas station I noticed that the power stated to come back to both my vehicles and no more engine stalls and shut downs. Do yourself a favour and stop destroying your car's engine by buying gas from here. Avoid Costco Gasoline and the Costco gas station like the plague.

Great shopping experience

Not such a great experience today Dec 19,2018.
I spend two hours shopping. I take care in my selections.
When I get to the check out. The male person blows me through and is short with me as I choose to pack my own groceries. I explain it is important to me that my groceries are packed correctly
As it turn out the cleaning solution is placed in the bag on top of my pie
Someone needs to show the packers how to do a proper job.

Best location I've ever been to. Staff work exceptionally hard to make sure you can find anything you need and your time at the checkout is quick!

Very good place for shopping. For newcomers, you need a membership card to buy from there. Really good prices and very large variety of products.
They also have halal meat, vitamins, even eye examination. You can buy all sorts of things from there.

Ample parking and generally manageable crowds make this Costco Wholesale a happy shopping experience. Staff is helpful and polite and the selection is excellent. Just renewed our membership again.

I have a love and hate relationship with Costco haha only hate it because I always spend way more money than I planned too!

Very good customer service they have excellent return policy even they never asking many questions amazing things in their policy is they don’t need receipt, very good in price with standard quality and in large quantity, parking lots are designed so nice and convenient, they should work on networking in house but i am not complying about that, they have very good fast food restaurant always busy, I recommend this place for shopping

Do not come here if you are trying to get anything done with your tires. COME HERE if you want to get screwed over and your time wasted.

They will tell you to come for 6am for a walk in appointment. WHAT THEY DONT TELL YOU, Is that if you aren't one of the select few within the first 1-8 people they will turn you away. I waited with everyone, I arrived at the same time, you think they would at least serve the people who were there. The woman behind the counter said " they usually only do about 6 people " followed by her shrugging her shoulders with the tone as of they were doing us all favours. Instead I was told to try again tomorrow.

I asked one of the mechanics the reasoning and he even acknowledged just how AWFUL of a system it is they follow. So he suggested go to jiffy lube and they will do it!

Overall the best thing about the place was the nice mechanic who could see my frustrations.

I will not be returning here, or to any Costco's in the future for automotive needs.

Went today November 3rd 2018 to get seasonal change over on wheels. Appointment for 12.15.

Lined up waited. Signed paid. Waited approx 2 hours.

When driving home low tire pressure lights came on. Checked tire pressure all 4 wheels 20 or 22 psi. They should be 36 psi as stated on Costco job sheet.

Went back to Costco they inflated correctly this time. (Note - safety and warranty concerns with underflated tires). How does one accurately speed balance a wheel with the incorrect pressure?

Costco's guy in tire shop said there are new workers and thats why things like that are happening.

Shouldn't someone double check a vehicle before it leaves the shop?

Clean & well lit. Aisles are wide enough to avoid congestion even on busy days. Enough cash registers to provide fairly fast check outs.

The line up at the doors to exit is a big waste of time.how often do they find and send someone back to pay for an item?

We joined Costco several weeks ago and are happy with this location although on weekends I would prefer to go to other one in KW. I honestly would avoid it on weekends unless you get there around when they open unless you want to deal with massive crowds.

The Gas bar for members is obviously fantastic but again I would avoid on weekend days/nights unless you are willing to wait a bit. It opens at 6: 30 AM and I found going on Sunday morning is when they open is perfect (I also have a Movati Gym Membership and then go there right after).

They have some great organic options (frozen fruits) and lots of choices for bars (Builders Bars are a great price here) and protein powders. They also have a nice selection of TV's and Costco has a fantastic return/warranty policy which makes them the go to for me for big ticket electronic purchases.

Love this local Costco. I'm so glad it came to this part of Waterloo. Costco is a great place to get bulk and some hard to find items. Their meat is excellent. The big plus of course is the gas bar, though there is normally a line-up.
