Be going there since we moved here with my parents back in 1972 I’m married know and live at the other side of town and still eat there Suy is great and the staff over 40 years I should be part owner lol

The waitress was friendly & funny!
The food is ALWAYS fresh!
I always get the #10 plate. Have never been disappointed!
Definitely recommend dining in or take out if you prefer!

I never leave bad reviews especially for a restaurant that has been around for 60 years.

But we ordered rice and chicken the food was cold, chicken was not well prepared, the ribs where soggy and had no taste the plate I ordered was noodles they were alright.

After paying the bill which was 50$ the waitress’s was very rude saying why didn’t you leave a tip? Why would I leave a tip for food I didn’t enjoy and that wasn’t properly overall bad experience towards the end the atmosphere was really akward. Won’t recommend

Would never eat here again made an order from them and have just moved into the area from western hill order Chinese food at least 2 times a mouth this company didn't send what was ordered and the main dish was not there got home from work Friday and no one to answer the phone after 9 as we ordered about 6 had wife had a little food before i got home didn't eat had something else phoned the next day asked for a reorder and told they can't other rise no managers in today really how can u run a business with no one running it fine phoned the next day and talked to someone that was in charge or a manager and was told we will replace the main menu and not the rest ask what should l do with the food that was in the fridge and was told to eat it as l said its been in there 48h and was told if you don't want to eat it throw it out nice 60.00 + tax really will never order from your Business again
Not Good Business People

Food was not good at all.had to pretend.my chicken was cold and the rice was not well made.the ribs we had were horrible.service was excellent until we didn’t leave a tip.seemed as though she was pissed as she asked us why we didn’t leave a tip.i have never heard of a waiter ask why one did not leave a tip in my whole life.it is not mandatory to do so.but atmosphere is nice and quiet though… food not so much

Haven't been here since I was 10 but the staff were really friendly and their food was delicious.

Ordered in.the food was cold, asked for no onions due allergies, guess what there where onions.so there goes a 48.00 meal down the drain.

Love the vintage aesthetic! Warmly greeted by Christine and she is one of the reasons we will be returning. It is rare to have such incredible service these days and she delivers in spades. I generally stick to vegetable and chicken dishes but I ventured out to the beef + pepper dish and BOY it was amazing. I also loved the small but robust wonton soup serving included (upgrade to wonton is $1) with the combination plates. Too often you get a giant bland soup, which fills you and makes finish a meal difficult. This 1 cup serving hit the spot and was packed with flavour. I loved the stir fry & I will be back again to discover more.

However, when it comes to the lunch special and other menu choices, I have to be honest and give them a 2/5.

While the lunch special was decent, I couldn't help but feel that the options were somewhat limited. When comparing Cosy Chinese Restaurant and Tavern to other local Chinese establishments in St. Catharines, there are better options available that offer a wider variety of dishes and higher quality taste for both lunch and dinner specials, all at an almost equal price point.

But don't let that deter you from trying out Cosy Chinese Restaurant and Tavern. If you're in the mood for friendly service, a cozy ambience, and a tasty soup, it's definitely worth a visit. Just be aware that there might be other places nearby that provide more diverse and flavorful menu options for your lunch and dinner cravings.

My boys and I were absolutely stunned at how amazing the interior was. The building is quite unassuming from outside but once inside it was like another world with amazing decor and awesome food. Absolutely will be going back and telling my family and friends.

The food was good. The staff was friendly. The prices for the lunch specials were fantastic and the food was served quickly. There isn't much to look at here but that's not a big deal, I'm there to eat not watch TV or be impressed by decor

This location is not disabled friendly. There’s a step into the front door. No ramp. No automatic door. If you’re in a wheelchair like myself, you can only use take-out.

We ordered for New Years Eve and to my surprise they actually called me to tell me that my order was an hour early from what my pick up time was. This put a bit of a damper on my night as I had to rush to get ready and grab the food so it wouldn't just sit there cold. Called my parents and told them I'd be there earlier than expected.

We ordered the dinner for 5 and it was barely enough for 4 people. Portion sizes were tiny. The quality of food was even worse. We have been ordering from here for over 30 years and the quality just isn't there anymore. The beef with green pepper, literally had no beef. It was all green peppers. Everything tasted so bland. Zero flavor. Even the sweet and sour sauce was watered down. Any item that had meat in it.basically didn't. The chicken fried rice was hard and barely edible. I should have known better when they called and said the order was ready that early.they weren't busy cause no body wants to eat their food anymore. We spent over $80 and it was super disappointing to say the least. I get that prices have gone up, but they cheaped out way too much for this meal to even be worth $30. I gave 2 stars only because the girls working that night were super kind. The one girl didn't have to call me to tell me it was ready, but she did. When we called to complain they just said it's new years eve. I get that, but it is no excuse for undercutting the quality that much. This also isn't our first bad experience here in the last year. It's now a trend and unfortunately we won't be ordering from here again.

You can't go wrong with Cosy Chinese Food. I love their food and the prices are great. I can get a full meal or 2 decent meals out of 1 order for less than other fast food joints. Great place.

Considering the type of restaurant it is you'd think portions would be generous.there not. Nor is the service. I actually felt bad being there. It was like how dare you inconvenience.
