Country Lane Pet Resort and Primitive Raw Pet Foods (2020) Inc.

We are incredibly thankful for Country Lane Pet Resort and their wonderful staff. We recently took a trip outside of Canada for two weeks and left our dog with them. Our dog is reactive so it can be difficult to find family or friends to watch him for an extended period of time.

The staff were kind and clearly passionate about the well-being of the dogs staying with them. They took pictures and videos of them playing with our dog and he seemed very happy. Jill even sent us some while we were away which was reassuring as we were worried about leaving our dog for a long period of time.

We can’t thank you enough. We are completely comfortable with leaving our dog in the trusting hands of the Country Lane Pet Resort team.

The best raw dog food in Ontario. We drive all the way from Hamilton to them because our fur babies loves Country Lane food. Staffs are very professional and welcoming.

Fantastic boarding facility! After moving jobs a few months ago and not being able to bring my dog to the communal doggie daycare he was going to previously, I was searching for a place to bring my 4 year old GSP. After inquiring with a few places that would not take an intact male of his age (he is a sweet pup), Country Lane was one that although not communal, was willing to take him for day board for the days that I needed it. The staff is absolutely fantastic and one of the biggest reasons I go a little out of my way to bring my dog here. There was no judgement on my decision to keep my dog intact, they love him and understand that he is a high energy, loveable goof and although he is in his own dog run, can give him a great amount of exercise and attention that he needs. You can tell talking to the staff and owner that they all love their jobs and the dogs they take care of. Their pricing is extremely fair in comparison to other comparable facilities and I will continue to take my dog there when needed:)

We brought our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy (Rosie) to Country Lane for boarding and I’m so happy we’ve finally found a place we can trust. My first impression was how clean it is and how there is no smell. I also loved how organized they are with their play times, bathroom and feeding times. On the day of boarding, the drop off was so easy. My puppy was a bit nervous, but I swear that a prerequisite to working there is that you have to LOVE dogs! At least that was the impression I saw in the staff that helped my dog ease her nervousness! The pickup was easy and quick too! We will definitely be back!

Best place to bring your dog for boarding! The staff treat your pet like family. Melo is a nervous and reactive dog, however the staff is well-experienced in deaing with my pup and making him feel very comfortable!

Honestly, I didn’t think my dog could be kennelled anywhere Because he’s so nervous around people. The staff at Country Lane helped us ease Pip into the process so he could become more comfortable and familiar with the facility, and he has stayed there a few days and nights now. They are so patient with Pip and very kind to him. Thank you guys for taking such great care of Pip.

Our two dachshunds have been on Primitive Raw for over a year and are both in amazing shape. They love their food, have shiny coats and clean teeth. What I love most about Primitive is that their office is open 7 days a week and they have great cost effective options. If you want to Choose a fully balanced diet or if you’d like a more basic and add whatever you’d like, there’s lots of options. Their supplements are also great too. Highly recommend.

Had my two dogs stay here for about a month. It was their first time in a kennel, i love that they post on instagram daily so you can see your pup playing outside. The staff will call if theres any concerns with your dogs and i loved staying in the loop! Thank you guys so much! - Hugo & Wesson

This is a great place for raw dog food! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a very good system for calling ahead and making your order and it's all contactless. My pup absolutely loves the wide variety of different foods they carry. Even if you want to get your dog some good treats, you should definitely try it out.

My 3 dogs stayed here for a few nights recently and I was extremely pleased. This is the first time we were comfortable enough to board them somewhere. I just never trusted another facility enough before this. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very thorough. I appreciated the details of their stay when I picked them up. Facility is clean and I would be comfortable boarding my dogs here again and would definitely recommend!

Great place to find. Our dog has allergies to almost every protein (minus fish) and we switched him to the raw diet (cod) which they sell in huge cases! Call ahead to order and it awaits you when you arrive. We LOVE this place - Highly recommend!

I've been coming here since 2017 and the staff is amazing, well knowledged and they always make you feel welcome. I didn't know anything about raw dog food before 2017 and the girls there have helped me learn so much and because of their helpfulness, I've been able to give my dogs a healthier life style. Raw food is an amazing way to go. My 8 year old rotti became like a puppy within a couple of weeks of switching her over to raw. Best option ever!

I've been coming here for over a year and honestly I'm not surprised why there are so many 5 star reviews. I left a message after hours and the following day was a holiday and didn't expect a return phone call on a holiday but Tara called me and was incredibly knowledgeable and we talked about my puppy Fosty and his needs for about an hour. Tara said we are open today.come on down and we will help you get started. I'm was in shock as I didn't expect such incredible service. I've checked around other raw food places and it's not the same service nor quality.when I place an order I dont have to wait 45 minutes in the parking lot for someone to bring my order to me nor do I have to wait 2 or 3 days once an order is placed to actually pick up my food.instead I can call and pick up right away and staff is always tentative making sure everyone gets served promptly for curbside pick up.even when they are busy and parking lot is full mist I ever waited was 5 minutes.as for quality. I would like to throw some of the meat from here on my BBQ and try it.it looks so good.yummy lamb chunks and the venison looks and smells good. Don't forget about those lamb patties, my llittle dogs favorite.it's human grade and I like that it's not all mixed up like a paste and put in a container like other companies. I prefer to prepare my own dogs meals and they love the variety that clpr has to offer.

Being in the service industry myself it's very difficult to find 5 star service but Tara was amazing and made us feel that we were making the right decisions for our puppy. I would like the note that Kathleen is another amazing person that works here and is full of knowledge and is always so helpful.all the staff is great here and I'm sold on their quality products and impeccable service.mostly my dogs love the high quality food and Frosty is always happy to see the staff.

I love the clpr website.its updated when items are out of stock. I love the pictures of the raw food with descriptions and yes those are actual pictures.it's an easy browse website.

I've been coming to this store for my raw food needs for a long time now and I don't mind making the drive at all, super friendly staff and always have great suggestions and advice.

Would recommend to anyone looking for Raw dog food. Staff knows their stuff!

I haven't used the Resort services but their Primitive Raw Food service is outstanding. Our Bernese Mountain Dog was plagued with allergies and infections, despite constantly using the veterinarian's recommended $160/bag 'hypoallergenic food'. The vet was constantly plying him with antibiotics which he hated, and he eventually got depressed and stopped eating his food entirely for almost a week. Within four days of switching to the raw chicken and organ meat product here, he is eating happily, his skin infections all disappeared, his itching and scratching have stopped, and his coat looks spectacular. And while this is the least important factor, I am able to feed a 100lb+ Bernese Mountain Dog that used to consume 2 large bags of kibble per month, at $80-$160 per bag ($160-320 per month) on about $150 per month of the raw food diet. The customer service is excellent, the pickups are COVID-19 compliant (no contact), and they are very helpful on the phone. A true 10 star operation.

After gaining interest in shifting my dogs diet to raw, my friends told me this was THE place to go. The quality of product is consistent, and the pricing is more than fair. The staff have always been responsive and attentive to my questions, helping me to understand what's best for my dog's individual diets and needs. Before I relocated back to Durham Region, I would drive from Toronto, which is a testament to my experience with this company.

Great facility and staff, Marvel enjoyed his time at Country Lane and was very happy. This was this second time at Country Lane.
We are also very happy with their services.
We picked him up on Saturday 03/21/2020, staff was great at practicing social distancing by placing all of Marvel's things in the car themselves and then bring Marvel and releasing him to us.

I missed my turn and drove a loaded dump truck and turned in the yard without out backing up. This is located at a great spot and very nicely kept yard, lots of parking spaces.

Great helpful service, with reasonable prices and extended hours. Most importantly, this is the only food that my dog with a sensitive stomach can tolerate!

I love country lane pet food.but my last visit was a bit.unpleasant. I realize it is very hot but customer service was SEVERELY lacking.not my usual experience

Country Lane is an excellent facility with absolutely incredible and friendly staff. We visited the facility before having our dog spend the weekend there and were very happy with everything. Staff went above and beyond to help us with our special guy.

Nice place for my pet. She loved it there, It was her 2nd time, and she almost forgets us soon as she she there. That mean how happy she is when she sees her fellow friends there.

Excellent place for raw pet food. Wide variety of choices as well as supplements. Good place to board your pets. They ensure dog safety and exercise. Staff provides excellent customer service and will take the time to answer any questions. My dogs love their food.

The friendly staff at Country Lane go above and beyond to care for our girl, Marley, especially Nicole. All of the staff are warm and welcoming and make a point to get to know each dog and care for them like their own. We have brought our dog Marley here many times in the last year and although she is a shy and anxious dog, she has warmed right up to the staff, who give her lots of attention and care. We tried another kennel in the area before finding Country Lane and now we wouldn’t trust any other kennel with our girl. Thanks for taking such great care of her! -Melissa & Matt
