Countryside Boarding, Grooming & Doggie Daycare

They housed our little fur baby for a month and were available on email to share pictures and her health. I wish there was a camera facility for dog parents to see their pets while away

It is very disappointing that their customer service is so bad.
On November 15th I booked my dog in for a grooming for the day before the Christmas weekend.
When I got there with my dog, they told me there was no booking made.
They claimed that I must have called a different place to book my dog, but that is incorrect as the place I called knew my dog's name, and when I checked my call records, it was their phone number that I called on November 15th.
They wouldn’t take any responsibility or offer any compensation for their error. They just blamed me.
I will vote with my money and go somewhere else in the future.

We have been dealing with Countryside for several years and our experience has always been excellent. They have gone over and above to make sure our dogs are well loved. Staff and owner is outstanding! Highly recommend.

Really is a jail! I visited to get more information for a on boarding, however the dogs was depressed and sad. They offer a small walks with the fur but I been there in different times and any dog walking or playing outside. The smell is not the best and looks sad place.

If you care about your dog, don’t bring them here. Our dog was traumatized after coming back from this place, and his paw was infected (he was in PERFECT health before being boarded and was only there for 2 nights!). Will NEVER bring him back to this place. INCREDIBLY disappointed.

Recently took my 2 large dogs for a full groom with Vanessa and she was amazing! It only took about 2 hours and she followed my requests for grooming preferences. My pooches looked and smelled soooo good!
Highly recommend the place, highly recommend Vanessa and will most definitely be using their services next time.

I used to bring my dog there all the time now I can’t even get her in. She loved it there.
Seems if you don’t book your dog in Monday to Friday you can t get in.
They’re booking for April 2 months away.
It’s sad because I was a loyal customer and now I have to find a new place to go

Great place and affordable service! Our dog loves to be there. I highly recommend this place to anyone who lives near Waterloo and Kitchener.

We have had 2 different dogs in care there. The first dog although vaccinated came back with kennel cough. We had are current dog there last week and ended up with a respiratory infection and on antibiotics. Our dog was to stay again next week but because of the infection can't, but not too disappointed as it gaurantees our dog will be healthy

The two stars are for the staff, very nice and polite. Before booking here I read all the reviews and should have put more stalk in them. I booked my 2 dogs in for boarding for 2 weeks, first week was Tuesday- Friday, I had to pick them up for the weekend (I don’t believe they have weekend coverage). I was to bring them back the following Monday for the week, unfortunately my dogs had symptoms of kennel cough before they could return. When I called to inform them about the kennel cough I was told that they haven’t heard of any other cases at their facility, when my dogs haven’t been anywhere else. They did however offer to take them but they would have to be quarantined from “the pack” (Appreciated), at least we could have continued with our plans. I don’t normally like to post negatively about a business, the reviews are factual and now both of my dogs are sick, lost out on my original vacation plans and spending much needed family time at our cottage this coming long weekend….

They took care of my dog few times already; since I always accomodate daycare/play with every overnight stay my dog is always comes sick with kennel cough or reverse sneeze for a week or two after stay, scratches and associated lethargy.

Excellent place! Daisy had a blast! This was her first time at a kennel but she will go again soon!

Terrible service and animal treatment! I brought my two small dogs in for nail trim. This was the first time my animals have been here. The groomer and front desk associated were both rude and unwelcoming. I am appalled at how rude and aggressive the animal groomer was, even shouting angrily “Relax! ” and “Stop it! ” with each little fidget. These dogs have never met her before and she was rushing and squeezing and shouting at them. Of course they’re scared. They’re small (-20lbs) and not difficult to handle. Zero compassion or affection for my animals. Disgusting.

I was also overcharged without discussion. The groomer admitted that one of the dogs did *not need a trim. She inspected his nails and trimmed only a few. I then expected she’d charge me less since she hardly worked on him. Rather, front desk *overcharged me for both animals because they were “difficult” (which they were not!). I felt the groomer should have at least mentioned this to me, rather than waiting for me to question my invoice. They cheated me. Horrible customer service all around and poor treatment of my animals. We will NEVER return to this facility and I would not recommend this place to ANYONE.

This makes me distrust the entire facility for boarding and veterinary care. DO BETTER!

Nice place, but the girl at the front desk with her 3 dogs needs to take a personality course. Not welcoming at all!

I brought my boy Jaxxon here for 7 days. I was in a jam and have never boarded an animal. The staff made me feel very secure and safe bringing my baby there. Jaxxon is an 8-month-old rottweiler so I'm sure as you can imagine a big ball of energy, having the addon of Doggy daycare was amazing as I knew then that he would still be getting stimulation. As a puppy he definitely needs it. I would absolutely recommend here for boarding and doggy daycare!

Have been bringing my dog here since he was a wee puppy; he's 13 now. He actually gets excited when I ask him if he wants a bath, to me, that's him giving them 5*

Shawna has always been fantastic with Jr. And does an excellent job of deshedding him thoroughly without fail!

We come for the amazing great groomers and daycare. We love visiting and the pups love the amazing staff!

Our neighbour recommended Countryside for grooming as we moved to the area a few months ago and had no clue where to go. We brought our 4 year old ShiChi and this was one of the best haircuts he ever had! My fiancee and I were both very happy with his cut (done by Steffie). We also just recently welcomed a puppy to our home and are booking her first appointment here as well as we had such a great experience.

Our dog seemed to love it, we asked if he had fun, didn't understand what he said but his tail was waging! Staff was friendly and helpful, you can call anytime for updates on your dog. Prices were reasonable and they were flexible with what we needed. Definitely will use them in the future!

My fur baby had the most wonderful time staying here for two days! He was plum tuckered out, and was groomed to perfection. Highly recommend, your baby will be in amazing hands!

It was quick and the girl was so kind and experienced. My both dogs are notorious and she was able to settle them down magically

Our pup Gus had a great time boarding with Countryside for a few days. It was his first time there but he said he really enjoyed it and that the staff were extra nice! He came home a very tired pooch from all the running around he got to do with his new friends. He was also nice and clean from a nice wash down and brushing. Highly recommended!

Max and Frankie enjoy their time at day care immensely. It is clearly evident in their behaviour on arrival and pick-up. The staff have been exceptional. We appreciate how much everyone at Countryside care about the well-being of our guys.

First time using the grooming service here. Kumo looks and smells great! Steffi did a great job and the service was well worth the price.

Just dropped my dog off. She is old and gets stressed easily. Checking her in was fast and efficient and they gave Ally some love. Very positive experience.

My dog Ripley enjoys countryside boarding for daycare, grooming and the occasional stay overs. The staff are friendly and the price point is great, with options for frequent services (daycare and weekly nail trims). It’s also really nice to know that there are vets in the same building. I highly recommend them!

I have been boarding my dog Loken since the end of November and Countryside has been great for both of us. Loken has separation anxiety, and can't be left alone, so I board him every day while I'm at work. He is extremely dog-oriented, so much that he will refuse food if he thinks he can play with other dogs. At Countryside, he gets put in playgroups and goes on walks under supervision, which is exactly what he needs.

He hurt himself early on, and the staff worked with me to show me the facility and explain how play days work. After learning about Loken's anxiety, they quickly adopted a new strategy and there hasn't been a single problem since.

Every day when I turn onto the road, Loken gets extremely excited. He races out of the car and can't wait to go play with the dogs. Lynn, Karina, and Jane are extremely friendly and helpful. They keep me updated on his adventures and his friends, and I think Loken and I both look forward to the times he gets dropped off at Countryside.

We left our two dogs here for boarding over the weekend, the facility is clean, OMAFRA inspected, and they had their own chain link fenced kennel away from the other dogs. My girls are farm dogs, and while they can be social, they are older and can have opinions about sharing toys and other dogs. They came home in good spirits, smelling clean (we declined a bath after their stay, so this tells me the kennel was kept clean while they were there), and in good weight. Would definitely recommend Countryside to a friend for dog boarding.

My dog is super dog aggressive but this place is so good with her they make sure she gets the same treatment as the other pooches and that she enjoys her stay every time I drop her off.

Been bringing my dog here for just under a year now and I couldn't be happier with the service and treatment the staff provide us. Great people and some nice grounds.

Would highly recommend to anyone who asks for boarding or daycare suggestions.

I bring my dog here to get groomed and they always do an awesome job considering how skiddish he can be around scissors and shavers. The prices here are appropriate and affordable. The staff is always nice and make you feel comfortable leaving your dog in their hands.:)

Great staff. My dog loves the daycare there. She loses her mind everytime we go. Groomers were awesome and able to give my dog a haircut when other places struggled (she can be skittish at times).

If you love your dogs DO NOT take them here! I have taken my boys to Country paws who have been excellent after an unfortunate incident at Countryside. My dog was injured and bleeding, and not attended to, the other dog wasn’t injured and they claimed it was my dogs fault. It took a while to sink in $250.00+ vet bill later and also a recommendation not to board my dogs here. My dog has never hurt another dog. I put it down to insufficient supervision and/or having a a miss match of dogs playing together. Country Paws has never had an issue with my boys in 4 years.

My dog loves going to "camp". They have comprehensive services - boarding, daycare, grooming and a small shop with toys and treats. A variety of sleeping options. Friendly staff and have never had a problem booking. Reasonable prices.

My partner and I have brought our dog to Countryside a few times now. The first couple of times that we left her for daycare we felt kind of uneasy as we had never left her anywhere before. She seemed to be really tired after a day of daycare, and even though the staff weren't overly friendly we decided that it was the best option given the location.
The third time we brought her here was for 3 days of boarding. We originally wanted to bring her somewhere else, but our top choice had no availability to we brought her to countryside. We were very anxious about leaving her for 4 days and 3 nights, and our anxiety was not calmed after dropping her off. When we arrived, the woman working was very short with us and abruptly asked "if our dog needs anything special". We tried explaining that she ate raw food, and some other things about her routine and behaviours. The woman was very dismissive of us, and seemed to not care about our interaction at all. It was very upsetting for us, and we spent our weekend away worrying about our dog and how she was being treated. She seemed fine when we picked her up, and I'm not suggesting that anything bad happened to her but we had a really bad feeling dropping her off.
I tried one last time to bring my dog back after the boarding experience, because I thought that maybe I had been overreacting but when I went to drop my dog off she started to whine and appeared to be very anxious. When the woman (the same one that was short with us before the boarding) took my dog's leash from me to bring her into the dog area, my dog did not greet her and began pulling to get back to me while whining. This is not typical behaviour of my dog, she usually greets everyone and is totally fine to go with other people so this really surprised me. I think it might be because the area where the dogs are kept is very loud and seems more like a kennel than boarding.
I will not be returning to countryside with my dog unfortunately even though the prices are cheap compared to other boarding places in the area. I would rather pay more to be treated warmly.
*I will say that all of the other staff that work at countryside seem pleasant, but this one woman really ruined the experience for us.

My dog Finnigan loves going to daycare here. He gets lots of play time indoor and out. The front desks gals are friendly and always helpful.

We take our dog here for daycare at least every other week. We also board her here when needed. The staff are wonderful and know her by name. We have a fabulous experience every time!

Horrible place, dogs in small kennels no place to go. Extra for hugs and medical help, poo and pee everywhere dogs bored and scratching at crates, cats crammed into small cages on shelves. Do not bring your dogs here

Very upset after receiving a tour, no one was on the floor with the dogs, it looked like a mill. No toys or baths, no blankets or treats. Very bad condition

Looks like a dog pound. All dogs are behind closed door, small "suites" all dogs look so nervous and the atmosphere is sad. Pee in the dog crates. And the dogs only get 3 walks a day. You have to pay 14dollars for them to come and and play with your dog. If your dog gets attacked or hurt u have to pay them to help the dog.
All the dogs looked scared and shaking a lot.
Wouldnt bring my dog there, not even for daycare. Dogs are kept in small enclosure with all other types of dogs.
1/10 my dogs will never attend.

A nice place for dogs with lots of room to run. It also has a vet clinic attached, which is peace of mind. The staff was great to work with, and Hunter seemed like a happy dog!

Large area for each dog as compared to other places. Dogs can see each other which is a good thing. They never feel alone. The price and service is among the best the KW area
