I had an apple iPad which was stuck in a bootloop, and we had tried to fix at home. After nothing worked, I took it to the apple store, where I was told it was an issue with the motherboard, which is not worth repairing, and that I should instead, replace the full device.
I've used CPR Cell Phone Repair before and had a great experience, so I looked at the website and was happy to learn that motherboard repair on iPads is a service that is offered.
I called in and explained my situation to the representative, and asked:
1) If they offer motherboard repair and replacement
2) If it was less than replacing the device (worth the money)
I was assured that yes, they do offer motherboard repair and replacement and that it's worth fixing instead of replacing the device, but that often the apple store says it's a motherboard issue when it's actually a software issue, and that a diagnostic test would give them a clear picture, plus that cost ($65) would also go towards my repair. So either way, it sounded like a win.
I brought in my iPad and the representative I had talked to on the phone took it in. I paid the $65+ tax and left.
I received a call two days later, letting me know two things that I was disappointed to hear:
1) The staff member said that he was surprised he didn't see it when he took the device in, but without even running diagnostics, he was able to see there was small physical damage to the exterior of the case, leading him to the conclusion that it was, indeed a motherboard issue.
2) He then told me that motherboard repairs are so expensive it makes more sense to replace the device.
WHAT?
So I paid $65 for him to see external damage that he didn't have to run a diagnostic on, which indicated that it would require a motherboard repair, which is what I called about in the first place and was told it was worthwhile to pursue, to be told that it isn't?
I'm so unhappy with this experience. What a complete waste of time and money. I feel that I was grossly mislead on the phone and would never have brought it in if I had known that in fact, a motherboard repair or replacement is not worth the money.

Excellent service.my phone stop working.screen was black and not a single button was working.he just solve my smart phone with in a minutes.me and my friend was trying very hard to get it done.but when we went there.he fixed it within a minute.

Went for a screen repair, they tried to claim my camera was broken and needed to be repaired as well and wouldn’t repair the device until I paid to repair the camera. They claimed the zoom wouldn’t go past 30x. When I took my device back the camera works just fine. Shady tactics to say the least.
EDIT: The camera is completely fine after extensive testing myself, and there’s nothing wrong with it. So perhaps not shady tactics but maybe shoddy work instead. It has been since dealt with insurance directly and they found no such issues.
