I took a wheel throwing workshop here. Kent was a great teacher and for someone who isn't really into this kind of stuff, I had a lot of fun. I'd recommend this to people looking for interesting activities to try!

I had a great time attending the beginner wheel throwing class with my boyfriend. Kent was a great instructor and I will definitely be back!

My friends and I have visited Crafty Pots twice now and both times were ruined by Kent’s poor attitude. His bitterness and rudeness ruin the atmosphere of what should be a fun relaxed activity. It’s quite a shame since the rest of the staff were lovely and the store itself seemed the have a good variety of paints and products available. We initially wanted to try this spot to try a studio that wasn’t a franchise however we will not be returning.

If I'm being honest, the place was nice. But I feel like the owner was slightly stingy with the paints.

There was an event to paint with Taylor Swift fans and when me and my sister got there, they informed us that we were the only ones coming for the event. They even mentioned that they would have called us but they did NOT! They were going to compensate us but we got a refund but this was very unfortunate. We drove there expecting other fans but that was not what happened. We made a reservation 1 week ago and had to put a deposit, very disappointing and unprofessional.

EDIT: We definitely left our phone number and we do not think it was handled unprofessionally, we think this is unprofessional because they did not call us.

Came here with the wife and toddler to do some pottery for Mother’s Day and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Great service and we had a fun time!

Fun place for a Friday date night or girls' night! We took the beginner wheel throwing class, and it was such a relaxing and fun experience. Kent, our instructor, was super friendly, patient, and funny. He taught us the basics and came around to help us if we had any questions. The class was a nice small size of 6 people. At the end of class, you get to choose a piece to go into the kiln and come back at another time to paint it for an additional cost. Definitely want to come back again to do more wheel throwing!

Booked for a 10th birthday party. We did the glow up party. Kids loved painting in the blue light.

This is great place for kids and adults that enjoy crafts! You pick out the items you want to paint from a fairly large collection of ceramics. They have animals and other general items like fruits and utensils, we went with animals. Next you get to pick 3 colors per person painting and they refill them for you as needed. The whole process took about an hour with my niece.
Once done, you leave it with them for 5 days for the ceramic to be baked and they text you when it's ready for pickup. Haven't got ours yet but some of the finished ones we saw looked really good.
They also have a glow in the dark party room for larger groups.

It used to be Color Me Mine, on the day we visited, it wasn't busy so we could peacefully get everything done. Staff were friendly, the place was well maintained, and there were more than enough pieces on the shelves to choose from.

It’s tad bit expensive with a hear running to 44$ but they do have cheaper options to be fair. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon with kids, friends and significant other. They provide brushes paint and a table. Great vibes!

Very cute little pottery painting shop! They also offer acrylic painting, sign painting with stencils, and clay throwing! The owner and worker were both very agreeable and nice!

Very good experience!

I went to this place with my girl gang. Staff was very helpful. We peacefully painted for 2 hours and got the final product after 6 days.

This place is great to take your kids and let them be creative. Great selection of clay objects and changes through the seasons. There isn't tolerance for horse play, which I totally appreciate. The only reason I didn't give full marks is due to the space which is a bit tight.

After visiting Crafty Pots the first time, I kept coming back. It is such a fun activity to do with anyone. The staff are so friendly and helpful and they have such a cute variety of things to paint. I work in the area and I really enjoy coming here to relax and paint something for fun.
23 May 2022 13:44
Really fun experience! The team and owners were very nice and supportive! The price point is reasonable. We were assigned to pick out any clay figure displayed on their shelves. They have a variety of assortments to choose from. It's exciting to see what piece your eyes land on to spark your creativity! They start with 3 paint colours from their selection and you can add colours as you paint. They recommended 3 coats of paint to get a vivid colour. The wait time for the glossed product is approximately 7 days. I'm totally looking forward to see how the finished product turns out!
They offer a variety of services such as pottery wheel classes, kids birthday parties, and fun painting clay experiences. Definitely a shop I would recommend and revisit.

Kids' (Parents') Night Out - We sent our children to Crafty Pots' parents' night out event 6-9pm. The price $40+HST included painting a piece of ceramic which our children chose from the shelves (max $35 value) OR a string art project, pizza, juice box, and games.

Kent and his staff were very kind and helpful. Kent also showed us how they use glass to make different projects, called glass fusing.

Our children had a lot of fun and can't wait to go back! Thank you Kent and your team for a fun and memorable time!

This place is great. For $50, we got enough clay for two people to sculpt clay figures and paint them. Both activities were really fun and a great way to relax. The staff is really nice and was very helpful. They even let us stay a little late while sculpting and packed a bunch of brushes/paints for us to paint at home (as we were concerned about the new variant). Overall, we had an amazing experience and our finished pottery looks great.

Honestly, just ignore the bad reviews.my partner went here for the first time.the place is really chill and music is playing.the owner was very polite, welcoming, friendly️. He offered to take pictures for fun and showed us around the place.would come back

Picture is posted below
I heard this was one of many very unprofessional comments he has made towards people who are unvaccinated. I find his comments very childish and offensive. I will not bring my grandkids here

And don’t you dare call me a rabid anti vaxxer. Nor is anyone else who has posted reviews or spoken up on this matter. This is exactly what’s wrong with the world today

This manager should be ashamed of himself and act more professional as someone who owns a business working with children
28 November 2021 9:02
Unfortunately the manager at this location is rude and has no business dealing with the public. He needs to be in the back stocking shelves. I watched him insult a couple because they couldn't prove their vax status. Then he went on to emply that if people won't vax they should be refused medical care. Regardless of your stance this guy needs to go!

Owner was great and accommodating, felt very COVID-safe. Highly recommend as a place for childrens activities or dates.

Great place to paint some pottery, particularly if you have kids. They now have some rustic glazes which looks very professional and amazing. Look at my art version Darth Vader

Made a garden gnome with clay, it was very fun and gnomes turned out very cute. Was a fun activity to do on a Saturday night. Staff are very nice and helpful too

We had a great time coming to Crafty Pots on a double date! So much fun watching each other work so hard not to ruin our "masterpieces! " Highly recommended!

I really loved the expert assistance I received from the staff that worked there, especially from a girl named Elizabeth

What a great day, we came for my daughter's friend/classmates' birthday party and everyone had a blast, not just kids either. An awesome idea that gets you out of the same old birthday party routines where kids are loaded up on sugar, run amok and tire out the parents. Never have I been to a children's party and everyone was quiet and focused on the task at hand. Each child chooses what they kind of mould they want to decorate and the staff walks the kids through the steps of painting them and glazing. Speaking of the staff, they were great and definitely know how to keep the kids motivated and kept it in a laid back atmosphere. Very knowledgeable about products and the goings on with special themed nights. My son and I caught the vibe and want to make a return trip with the family instead of regular game night. Highly recommended

There is something therapeutic about painting and now they have other activities as well which is great! Something that adults and kids alike can enjoy! Loved it!
03 May 2019 9:09
Why oh why are prices so high? Would like to go more but at 80 bucks for four tiny coasters and a medium sized candy bowl, I can't justify the expense other then for special occasions every two years.
21 April 2019 4:14
I brought my 7 year old daughter here on a weekend to make a mug as a birthday gift for her grandma. The mug turned out great and her grandma absolutely love it!

Selection of item to paint are very high priced starting at 28.00 a piece. Very expensive to take your kids out for a night of painting
26 January 2019 12:32
Great experiences the few times I have been there. Items I've painted were around $30-$40. There is no additional fee for painting the item. I didn't finish painting mine the evening I went, and I went back on a weekday to finish painting it for free; if I went back on a weekend, then there would have been a fee (something like $9).

The owner of this location asked me to ask a person I was supporting in the community to not interact with any other customers in his store. I asked him what was the reason for his request, and he said it was his policy. I then asked him if this policy was posted anywhere in his store, and he pointed at himself and said “it’s my policy”.

Reader: I’ll let you be the judge of that interaction as you consider pottery painting, board art & glass fusing in the Markham area.

Reply to your 1st reply: the person I was supporting was socializing like any human being would. Those mothers that he was speaking with in no shape or form felt uncomfortable and neither parent expressed these types of feelings. In fact, they also interacted with us with no issues or concerns. If your goal was to have me inform the mothers that he was harmless, you failed to communicate that in our interaction as you only emphasized your “do not interact with other customers” policy.

If you are to be truly welcoming to people with disabilities, I would kindly advice that you be well informed and also not assume that people with disabilities are harmful. Thank you.

It is a nice place to go and take the kids the only thing it's small they can't really accommodate strollers and calling ahead is required to make sure there's a table available to suit your family depending on your family size
16 November 2018 12:15
Recently heard an interaction with this owner that he refused to give a child candy on Halloween because he didn't think babies should be entitled to candy - even though his business is directed at children. He then posted on his page about his reasoning on the subject, it was clear that the owner is miserable and entitled believing that he somehow gets to decide who should be trick or treating. He of course took this down when he started getting bad reviews, which made me angry that he is shielding people from the truth of who he is as a business owner. I would have been fine if you left it up for people to see what you actually thought and how miserable and petty you are, because that is the truth. You have a business that is directed at families and yet was hostile to a young family and turned away a BABY because you felt like you should tell a new mother what is acceptable protocol on Halloween. I've seen MANY new mothers come to my place with their babies on Halloween because its their first experience with their child and an important one for the family. The fact that you can't understand this makes it clear that you should not be around children or families because you lack empathy for others. For further proof, read his interactions with other one-star reviewers and you can see this owner's personality. There was even one where he berated a CHILD in front of a parent, disgusting (I've attached them in case he deletes it, since he seems to do that). Do not go here, this guy doesn't deserve your business.

Staff is helpful. Had good time pottery painting with my 5yr old and glass fusing for my 11yr old.

Took my daughter to this place and I probably won't again. The employees are great but the Owner seems to have mental issues. We were in the process of painting and the experience due to his interaction with us was less than enjoyable. I've never met such a stuck up business owner talking down to little kids. When I asked him to address me and NOT my child in the tone he was using he became passive aggressive and went to hide behind his little computer. Don't talk down to people and you won't be treated like a child yourself. I don't think any parent would tolerate that type of behavior. Time came to pay and he Is now asking me how much the items that he buys and sells are.truly unprofessional. Asked if he was the owner and he replies yes with a stupid grin. Wish there was a 0 star rating as they truly deserve that despite the reviews he's asked people for or has faked himself. Please check out the other low rated reviews for similar feedback regarding owner and pick a different activity!
