Cucina Urbana Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar

First time visiting this restaurant and was absolutely impressed. The service was impeccable from the time we walked in until we left; very attentive and friendly staff. The food was amazing as well; highly recommend their spaghetti squash and asiago fritters and their spaghetti with meatballs. Every aspect of our meal was spot on. Speed of service, the food was hot, and our server was outstanding. I will definitely be returning.

Food was ok but I did not like the service. The waitress was working too hard at upselling and made it awkward.

The food fell short.it was very small portioned for what you pay for but then the food didn't taste anything great anyways.the atmosphere and service was awsome.

Right at the Cobourg marina and beach, this place has awesome food! We relished everything we ordered. Our pizza was order was delayed a bit as it got burned, and they had to make another one; they didn't serve the burned one. The dessert was heavenly! Don't remember what it is called, but it was raspberries wrapped in fark chocolate. The Fungi Pizza was the best I have ever had. Roasted artichokes salad was good as well!
Make reservations as it is a busy place!

We go to Cucina Urbana semi-regularly for a special night out, and while the food is always delicious, our service this time was the worst I've ever experienced.
Surprisingly, it was one of the owners, I believe, who treated us like garbage.
We received eye-rolls and sneers when some of us opted for water instead of alcohol, and an actual snide comment was made because apparently we did not order enough desserts for the table. When choosing entrees, she suddenly left before taking everyone's orders, and we had to flag her down to finish.
According to her, it seems, our $160 bill was not high enough to earn the smallest hint of kindness or respect.
I do love the food they serve, but with this sort of treatment, I will never be returning.
If you do choose to go to Cucina Urbana, pray you don't get the owner as a server, and I guess you should aim to spend $200 or more. Maybe that would be enough to earn a "have a nice night".

Enjoyed a beautiful lunch today celebrating my mothers birthday. Our server was exceptionally kind (and patient). He knew the specials well and once food arrived, he stopped back in to ensure everything was OK and left us to it! It was very busy so we’re happy we had reservations (and since it’s quite small inside, it was very loud — having said that, we weren’t bothered but worth mentioning)

Everyone enjoyed their lunches (although the salad was described as a little boring — just being honest:) ) Everything tasted fresh and made to order + half price wine bottle on Thursdays is a nice touch!

We definitely plan to come back and maybe enjoy their patio in warmer weather.

One final note I’m not totally sure it’s kid friendly — and if you are visiting with a baby please know that there aren’t any change tables.

First date night without the kids for a long time and what a nice place to choose! The starters and mains were delicious, fresh and a great selection. The only thing that could be improved was the desserts - fine, but not up to the high standards set by the main course. Service was efficient and friendly, atmosphere perfectly suited to the occasion!
We'll definitely be back!

Such a great place. If you come for the first time during the busy season, please keep that in mind. This is real food not fast food, and enjoy the atmosphere the menu is great their specials are never disappointing.

This has become our neighbourhood hang out- all sorts/sizes of dinners and always good. Despite baffles it is a loud place- people having fun. Just great food, friendly owners/staff, and nice ambience- inside or out. Who could ask for more! Kudos for bringing in the locals with zero corkage and half price house wine nights. Even keto works here!

Have visited this restaurant several times and each time the food was delicious. Service was good (even the one summer visit where it was jammed!). Super cool location by the lake. As a bonus - I usually don’t pay too close attention to the bill but I happened to notice last night and was pleasantly surprised last night - we had a appetiser, 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine, 2 beers and a dessert - bill with a 20% tip was $150. You can’t eat at a chain restaurant for that kind of money! Definitely recommend!

Family took me here for my birthday. Everything was great, service, food, and we liked that we could bring our own wine! Mussels were fantastic!

This place was ``good" but not great. The staff was attentive and it is a fine location though the food was not terribly original or special. For instance, our artichoke salad was mostly romaine lettuce with very little artichoke and the tiramisu was mostly whipped cream. Overall it was a pleasant experience but the food was very forgettable.

Wonderful restaurant with very friendly servers. The food was very tasty and the prices were excellent! Lots of selection on the menu as well. We had to wait a bit longer for our food, but we were a party of nearly 20 people, so that's understandable. I will definitely go back again!

We stopped by tonight during evening walk and while waiting for take-home met a few travelers. It was so pleasant! At home we enjoyed your Homemade Tiramisu and my compliments, truly delicious! Your homemade pate is now a staple in our home! Thank you for being so kind to me & Miss Molly! The Homemade Italian Pate and Gnocchi are heavenly. We look forward to enjoying your patio this summer.

INCREDIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE
I had the Vegan Pappardelle last night and it was delicious. Any meal I have ever had here is fresh, full of flavour and satisfying. Having a meal at the bar counter was perfect with the Christen D - she makes dining alone, less lonely. Engaging in conversation, checking on me and making sure I was completely comfortable and happy. I will be back again! OC

Theresa, the owner of this restaurant, treats her employees with the deepest disrespect I have ever seen in the industry. She screams and yells in her servers faces right in front of tables, and reprimands in the harshest and most ineffective ways. Extremely condescending. I will never be back and it's shocking that people can treat their staff like this.

I see she responds to these reviews with disgusting feedback, not acknowledging any of her abusive actions or behaviours, so I'm not expecting anything positive to come from this - but I hope she considers changing. Teresa, you are embarrassing.

Had lunch at Cucina Urbana today and as usual had an amazing meal. Have been many times and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Thank you Theresa and staff.

Great food, our waitress was amazing, the manager however was too much, and her interference with our table was both annoying and aggressive. We went for my moms birthday and we’re seated right n the first four seater when you come in, in the middle row of the restaurant. We were served by a really wonderful waitress with light brown/blonde hair she was attentive and met all our needs and requests without being intrusive, perfect service. The manager however was too much, a dark haired woman who came up asking the same questions we had just settled with our waitress, this happened a total of four times and her delivery felt aggressive and insistent, all I can say is please put your trust in your staff, they are professionals, it is why you hired them. The food and service was great but I would be hesitant to return and have to deal with repeated interruption from an overly zealous manager.

Excellent service is an understatement. My wife suffers from celiac disease. The restaurant/chef had no problem ensuring that my wife had a gluten free meal that was very delicious. Good wine list.

I went to this restaurant during my visit to Cobourg.
Food was delicious, portions were big and amazing Customer service, owners are very welcoming.
I loved everything that I tried at this restaurant but “Truffle Mushroom Arancini” was exceptionally delicious.
I went with a huge group as we were celebrating one of our friend’s birthday, and the owners were so sweet, they got a little cake for us.

4: 00 reservations worked perfectly Sunday May 22nd 2022. My adult daughter's b'day. Really welcomed the delicious meals served to us. No disappointed guests at our table! Yummy deserts;) (Just wish the music was turned down a notch so we could hear each other better.) Really pleased to have a high-end Cobourg establishment that suits the beachy/marina setting. Highly recommend!

Great gem of a spot in Cobourg. Excellent location - steps away from the waterfront and marina. Great food, great service and a personal touch you just won't find in any franchise restaurants. Worth the drive to Cobourg alone!

Wonderful birthday dinner with my hubby. Fresh and flavourful ingredients coupled with amazing service. We had crab cakes, lamb and beef short ribs. Yummy

This would be a five star review if the customer service was even just “okay”. I’ve been here several times, including choosing them for my wedding rehearsal dinner because their drinks are delicious, food is good (portion size small for price), however, the restaurant Owner/Manager is short, cold and not a people person. We brushed off the careless service several times, however even several months later when we call to make a reservation they’re abrasive. My family and I indulge when we go here and tip well, it’s too bad they don’t treat their customers more kindly.

Was really disappointed, the service was really bad. We waited there for 45 minutes and no one greeted us or helped us get sat at a table. We were excited by the good reviews but really saddened by our experience.

Very impressive! The menu here offers an extensive selection of items and flavors sure to please anyone. The service and quality are 5-star in every respect, in my opinion. Not an inexpensive place to visit but worth it. A new favorite on my special treat list.

We went last summer and loved the restaurant. However, when we went last weekend we were disappointed. My son and daughter ordered appetizers. My daughter hadn’t finished hers yet when they brought the soup AND the main to her. Our soups were luke warm. The lobster ravioli was is a watered down tomatoe sauce. We felt rushed and uncomfortable

Was in a slight rush driving from Kingston to Toronto, but decided to stop here for dinner on the way. Ordered takeout and was told it would take 30 minutes. It ended up taking closer to an hour but, but the food was excellent! Would come again.
