If you're coming here for shisha & drinks, other than a burnt couch you should be able to have a chill time. Do not come here to eat, nachos are stale, service is slow, they only care about your bill and complaining is a waste of time. Auto gratuity of 10% regardless of poor service. Go elsewhere.

It was a great experience I loved the Shisha, service was good and Tareq was super friendly and made sure everything was perfect her really took care of us! The server was also really sweet and attentive! Will definitely repeat good place for a date

Customer service is so poor. I had to order a glass of water 5 times. Took them 30 mins to get it for me. I had to push them to get me water.ridiculous

Sheesha flavor was bad

Then they charged we gratuity with only 3 of us for no reason. Its suppose to be with more than 6 people not 3.

Serving the best shisha in town! I keep going to relax and enjoy the shisha at Cyan Lounge, sometimes dining as well and Tareq is definitely providing me with the ultimate service. Many thanks for the clean, warm and friendly environment and best of the service!

Went there for the first time - their vibe is amazing and so is the place. Customer service could have been better, though my friend and I (just two of us) didn't require it a lot. They gave extra charcoal for shisha so we could change it on our own.
However, 2 drinks, 2 appetizers and a regular shisha cost us $100 to be exact, with gratuity automatically charged! A little deceptive as the machine asked for more tip.good thing I saw the bill beforehand.

Overall, ok-ish shisha (doesn't have a "kick" to it), and good food. But could be better in terms of pricing and automatic gratuity (probably what brings their customer service down). Personally wouldn't return; there are better hookah places in the area.

Every time we go there it is always amazing! The service is wonderful, servers are great, The food is delicious and I come here almost every weekend.we always have a great time. Thank you so much for having such a great space. One of the better upscale lounges for hanging out with friends. Staff is friendly, dorsa is one of the best.seats are pretty comfortable and there are a variety of seating options. Interior is nice. Love the knafeh dessert! One of my go to places when I'm in town.

Hosted my 25th birthday here. The customer service was great! Super accommodating to our party of 15, even called us the day of to confirm final details. Paying the bill was also very easy - one bill and people go up to the bar and pay whatever portion they want. Shisha was great, the music was FANTASTIC! The DJ was playing a variety of songs and took some requests. Bottle service was super affordable compared to shisha lounges downtown. We were able to bring our own cake and balloons. 10/10 would have a celebration here again!

I have been going to Cyan for past 4 years. The food is great and shisha is decent. But man their customer service is so bad. Last night they asked us to spend $150 minimum for a table. We were cool with that but we had to wait 30 mins for our coal to be changed. The shisha flavour was already burnt and gone. You expect us to spend so much for this kind of horrible customer service? If the owner is seeing this, you really need to work on your employees customer service.

In 2018, I tried to go to Cyan Lounge 3 times. First time I arrived at 9pm and the place was packed so I understood. The second time I arrived at 8pm. The place was busy but I peeked in the lounge and there were seats available. I noticed as well people especially women who arrived after me were being let in. I asked the greeter and he said the people let in made reservations before. The third time, I arrived at 6pm and the place had hardly anyone in it. The greeter said that all the tables were reserved. I watched the lounge for 2 hours and some of these tables were not filled. I didn’t know you could reserve a table and not show up for 2 hours. In frustration I asked some of the girls that were being let in around 9pm. To my surprise, they didn’t make reservations. My friend finally asked the greeter what we needed to do to get in. He said that we needed to reserve hours before time and pre order over $100 worth of food/drinks/hookah each. I wanted to give this place a chance but the excuses, sorry lies are too much.

Got the watermelon shisha with the ice hose! I never tried the ice hose before and it does wonders, cools down the air/smoke! I highly recommend if you’ve never tried it.

The vibes of this place are different from others. It's an Ideal place for Hookah and Alcohol lovers. But for non-alcoholic person there are not many items available in the menu.
Also, Chicken Tikka is a must try.
There is also a live DJ available during weekends. But the music is so loud that it becomes difficult to place an order.

Second time having a bad experience. When we walked in, the host checked our vaccine cards and said we have to spend a minimum $100 for a table. We said okay, and sat down. 5 minutes later, the host came up to us and said we needed to leave because a group of men were waiting before us. Apparently they complained that they should of got the the table first.

I understand they were waiting, but it’s the host’s responsibility to keep track of who came first and seat them accordingly. It’s very unprofessional to kick out your guests once they’ve already seated. There’s no customer loyalty in this place.we had the right to stay seated just as much as the other guys had the right to be seated as well.so the host should accommodate both tables rather than kicking us out.

It’s embarrassing to leave once you’ve already been seated. He said we can wait for table but I kindly said we’ll go to Haze Shisha across the street. Where we received better service.

Wouldn’t come here again, treat your customers right or you’ll lose them.

Don’t bother using OpenTable to make a reservation. They will text you and say it’s walk in only.

They also allow their “friends” inside the Lounge and give certain people priority over others.

Haze is right beside CYAN and a much better lounge.

Called the place on Friday afternoon was trying to book a table for Saturday but the guy told me that i just need to go there and wait like a lineup, so on Saturday me and 3 friends drove from downtown Toronto all the way to Richmondhill and same guy was there didn’t let us wait for the line up and he was super rude, I would never go there anymore!

I've been going to cyan for years. The food quality and ambience are great for a shisha lounge. And even the shisha is very good. I only deducted one point because sometimes the service, especially when it comes to calling ahead, can be rather curt. Almost as if they're saying that they don't really need your business.

WORST PLACE EVER

We visited Cyan on Wednesday 24th of February and we order one chicken skewer, one beef skewer, and one shisha after asking for 2 other plates that they didn’t have but it was on menu. We were expecting a dish worthing 29 Dollars. We could have been gone to McDonalds to get food with PLASTIC PLATE AND CUTLERY! The amount of food with BLUE RICE! Did not worth 30 Dollars AT ALL. I have never visited a restaurant that closes the booths for us although it’s emptyyy! Everything was really awful and we did not have the option to even show our dissatisfaction because auto grad was added on
We paid 100 dollars for literally nothing.

I get it, they're primarily a shisha place. But if they're going to serve food, it needs to at least be edible. Their shrimp, samosas, rolls were basically frozen food that's been deep fried hours ago. Nothing tasted fresh or tasted good and I left most of my meal unfinished. I feel bad giving a 1 star review when businesses are struggling due to covid but this place needs to fix their food. The waiter was a friendly guy and their decor is good but for the food it's a 1 star.

I always enjoy coming to Cyan. The ambience is really nice. DJ nights are fun and prefect when it’s a friends birthday. Have had quite a few parties here over the years. It can get a bit loud and difficult to hear your friends you're sitting with. Always find their food to be delicious. Good food presentation. Shisha is good. The server call buttons (for service, water, etc) are kinda useless, as we have waited around after pressing the button and then we just end up flagging a server down. Regardless of this, I do return. The servers are friendly. It’s a great venue overall. Always prepare to be on a wait list on the weekends (pre-covid). Thanks Cyan!:)

Overall terrible place place to make plans for the following reasons:

1. Huge wait times due to poor seating arrangement, no real organization leaving many opportunities for people to bud the line. 1.5+ hour wait times on Fri/Sat night's.

2. They do not take reservations unless you commit to spending $20/person

3. Snotty/stuck up staff, seemingly irritated to do their basic job. Like it doesn't matter if you own the place, you do not treat your customers are your employees.

4. Very expensive prices. A single serving of tea is $3.75, a bottle of water is over $3.

My advice is to begin giving numbers to guests in line so that they may enter in order, and create 2-seater spaces for couples instead of giving them the large round tables.

It's a good venue (decor, lighting, atmosphere) but 2/3 of all seats were reserved.didn'nt make any sense. I guess you'd have to reserve ahead of time to get a couch seat and not have to sit in a table and chair in the middle of the place. Service is not the fastest. We got our shisha in probably 10 or 15 mins (usually 5 mins at other shisha places) and food after maybe 20 minutes. Might go back but will reserve ahead of time to get the good seats.

Overall the food is excellent, the shisha could definitely be better, it's usually a little under packed or the hose although new could be leaking which ruins the experience. But I have to end this positively, this is the only place I accept to go to for shisha and I live in Durham. Please fix the packing and it will be 5

One of the better upscale lounges for hanging out with friends. The food is pretty good but over priced. Staff is friendly and they have a pretty convenient ordering system at your table for when you need more eater, or to request the waiter or just asking for your bill. Seats are pretty comfortable and there are a variety of seating options. Interior is nice. Love the knafeh dessert! One of my go to places when I'm in town. Would prefer if there was a better variety on music options! Recommend checking it out.

Their customer service needs a lot of work. The people working here aren’t the most polite.a lot of times you have to ask for the same thing more than once in order to get it. I have to say though, the menu is off the hook- they have an amazing beef tikka - like to die for. Totally recommend eating here. Their sheesha is average.

The service was strange. Hit and miss. The shisha here is all herbal. No tobacco which is why you don't get the statisfaction of the nicotine hit. There is a small sign posted high up on the wall above your average line of sight where it's posted "nicotine free" which means it's all herbal yet the prices were reflective of tobacco shisha and not herbal shisha. It's a shame that this is being practiced here and is probably why the crowd that knows prices, flavours and the difference between a herbal and tobacco shisha will not return to this lounge.

Second time at CYAN, should have read the reviews first!

My first experience at CYAN was pleasant to say the most. I went with my friend who is middle eastern, and I am black. I definitely did notice that the servers behaved different towards our table in terms of service vs other tables. However, because I was with my friend - they delivered us very standard (yet still not welcoming or approachable) service. None the less the food and shisha flavours were good.

My second visit to CYAN was terrible. This time I visited with my friend whom is also black. Firstly, we waited in line to get in, and as soon as it was our turn to be seated suddenly we were Asked to present ID However- no one else before or after us was id’d. When waiting for a server to come around it took about 20 minutes until we had to ask if Someone would take our order. A server then reluctantly proceeded to take our order. Our appetizer, which was simply nachos took VERY long to come out, and our small order of bruschetta took about 40 minutes to come out - Burnt. Even our ginger ale took long! It was evident that they did not care to serve us. The manager and staff made our experience very uncomfortable.

My suggestion is if your looking for a shisha spot in the area go to Mandala down the road. The staff are all friendly, they are diverse, and the music and food is amazing. I will not be returning to CYAN- and I hope they learn to diversify their staff to make all guests feel welcomed.

After a long tiring day we had, we needed to relax so we decided to drive almost 40 KM to CYAN. Unfortunately we were welcomed by a very rude and disrespectful attitude from the the staff and the manager. Once we asked to speak to the manager, he refused to talk to us and asked the waitress to let us go and kept refusing to speak to us. He should have some decency to come talk to the customers as a manager, instead he is doing a great job at pushing people away from the business.

We have never been asked to show IDs at this cafe but unfortunately just because we looked very tired and not wearing all fancy, we were asked to show IDs and were treated rudely and disrespectfully.

We, our family and friends have been coming to this location for a long time and day by day the service and staff are getting worse and worse. No wonder why, if the manager is as rude and careless as the staff.

It is a shame that such a business does not care enough about its reputation.

After Waiting 1 hour (exactly), because the reservation manager did not know how long to quote for waiting time!

1. Uncomfortable Seats
2. Shisha Quality Not Good
3. Staff extremely unfriendly, unresponsive and unpleasant
4. Excruciatingly loud music (can't have conversations)

Summary:
Got a table of 2. Our Server was Zainab. I wanted to ask her about the menu (since it was our first time there). When I asked her to explain the X-Plosion Shisha, She simply smiled (sarcastically) and said; "what do you mean by whats in it? " I asked again, What fruits are in the Shisha so I know there isn't anything in it that can cause me allergies.
She replies; "I don't know whats in it, it comes "pre-made"". So, I kindly requested her to may be send someone who knows more about the Shisha. She says, "I know about the Shisha, but your question does not make any sense". At this point I had enough, So I just requested her to get me the Shisha.
After taking the order.she doesn't show up until at the end when its the time for the bill, and asks "How was it".

Conclusion:
Do not spend your hard-earned money and time in exchange of disrespectful attitude from the management/server (s) in return.

Food was great! However, we were not happy knowing we tipped on top of a 10% gratuity that was not mentioned by the server until after we had made the payment. It felt dishonest, and an attempt to gauge. We were only a table of two. Since when is gratuity applicable to such a small table? I shouldn't have to audit my bill for such a charge given it was a table of two.

The decor looks amazing but the staff are rude including the owner. There was two occasions I had really bad service there. The first time I had to wait a bit for service and no one came to help so I walked out. The second time had to wait a long time for my shisha and the customers that walked in after me got it before me. Overall I'm done with this place.

The shisha was good, but food and service were awful! Had to wait for burnt and completely ruined shrimps for more than 1.5 hours which is unacceptable. Don't think I will come here again, very disappointing!

Terrible terrible service. Waiter was rude and condescendingly let us know we couldn't sit in a certain area because it's only for groups. I was so embarrassed because not only was it my friend's birthday but also our first time there. As soon as we walked in no staff was around and there was a sign that said "Please seat yourself. "
