Probably one of the best chicken biryani dish I've tried. The food tastes so fresh and full of flavor. The gentleman at the counter was very kind. Though I did takeout, it was very clean and peaceful inside for dining. Can't wait to try some other options.
If you're on the hunt for the best Indian food in Pickering, Daal Roti is the spot to hit up. Seriously good flavours, laid-back vibes – it's the go-to for top-notch Indian eats in the area!
Require improvement on desk while calling for reservations. She is not properly giving info to new customers. We try to come 18 people and avoid going because of not properly answered. Don’t know some of the key things which we asked.
I hope owner can train to her whoever working at main desk to receive call.
Malai kofta, dal makhni are awesome. Besides from that, I tried catering from here for the first time & had a very smooth experience. Everybody liked the food quality. Manchurian is something everyone loved the most in starters. The service was good as well. I would recommend to try out their service.
Few days ago I went to a one of the best Indian restaurant where The food was served hot and was very flavourful! All the curries had a good amount of spice. I particularly enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the naan. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves Indian food.
Super yummy vegetarian food. Had ordered reshmi kadhai paneer, cheese butter masala we asked them to make it spicy and it was really good. Naan was also fresh and soft. Daal fry and rice were also super tasty. Highly recommended if you are looking for indian food.
Hi i'mRajeev sharma very choosy for outdoor food. Last Friday i visit to this place i found food is very very yummy delicious daal tandoori roti awesome staff is also very gentle according to my point of view this is the best plaxe to eat
Visited here just for Pani puri, service was amazing hence the 2star other than that puri ball was hard rock and tasted off and the sauce and Chat or whatever wouldn’t recommend for Pani puri
I am very disappointed with them as there was a rush and because of that they didn’t give me the dessert which I ordered. And refused by saying that they didn’t have it. Come on guys stop being over smart. Serve your customers nicely it’s a humble request.
HORRIBLE. I never purchased a biryani in my life that had no meat in it except for a bone. The restaurant is up for sale (hmmm I wonder WHY?) - if you are a potential buyer looking I hope you read the reviews that there is TONS of turning around to do with this nonsense place.
I catered from them as opposed to ordering individual dishes. The was good I asked for chicken biryani which was an upgrade but $2 per person. For 20 ppl the I got a very small amount of rice and the Naan that was given was all burnt. We many curry dishes but nothing to eat it with.
Worst service ever. No napkins or spoon/fork with the dish. Overpriced as hell. $6 for a single piece of vadapav that is too small even for a child. And $15 for a manchurian plate that is so bad that we couldn't even finish the plate. If i could, Id go back to the restaurant and give the food back and get a refund. But unfortunately, was just passing by and thought of picking the food. Never going back again
Ordered 3 dinners each one came with 5 small pieces of chicken for $17.99, I have nothing positive to say. Unfortunately My kids ended eating eggs for dinner because the food tasted bad. Don't recommend.
Bought 3 vegetarian dishes and 4 naans for takeout. Did not like the flavor of the dishes especially the Chana masala. Very spicy and I found it oily. The naan was also oily compared to the many other restaurants I have visited. $65 for 3 dishes without meat is over priced. Unfortunately had to throw out the entire dinner as no one liked it.
Loved it! Extensive menu. Good service. We had pakora Manchurian, chicken tikka masala, jeera rice. Their naan was so good. Everything was so good. Also had a mango Lassi and tried both their pistachio and paan ice creams. They make the paan one in house. We both loved the pistachio.
I went at the pickering location first time, food is okay but it is not worth the price main dishes are 14.99 and it doesn’t come with rice or any bread and Naan is 3.99.not happy with the overall experience!
We love daal roti at mississauga branch. Our first visit in Durham region was not the best. Resturant business have not been doing well during COVID understand. However, now when it’s open to sit inside with proof of vaccination they wanted us to leave at the earliest as others are waiting outside to come in and eat. Well, if that’s an issue they should start working on booking appointment basis. Lastly, the tadka daal we ordered was burnt, which they did replace it so 3 star for that. They should be more customer friendly when dealing with customers to get repeated customers.
Usually I don't write a bad review and I like to call the restaurant (Daal Roti @ Pickering) and give my feedback so that they can improve. Even then I called them up and told them how I felt about their food. However, I would like to go public with the review as this is a franchised restaurant which means that they should have a stricter quality control. We ordered chana masala from Dal Roti today and was shocked at the quality of food! The chana (chick peas) were not even cooked and it tasted like they were added into a preprepred sauce. The worst part is that one dish was for $15 plus tax, with no side serving of bread, ridiculous! Whoever is running the show needs to not cheat people with badly cooked food and ridiculous prices! Highly disappointed!
Pathetic service, staff behave rudely. That was my worst experience ever in restaurant. If you get to my review just a heads up to save your money, time and specially your mood.
We were here to celebrate the birthday because last time when we came here the service was outstanding. We had simple request of joining two tables so that we can eat together with our family. We requested the staff named Bhomit if they can arrange two table together. He kept on saying he can only do in certain areas. They had ample of space though. They were not considerable enough. Food is good but very pathetic service. I saw owner having meeting and drinking but didn’t care to come forward to know the issue. Gurbeer the kitchen supervisor was polite with us. I hope they fix the service.
And I have seen they do not even accept the negative reviews. Folks please read each negative review and responses. So plz don’t waste your money.
Yes owner was present and was drinking alcohol plz check the video surveillance where group of 6 sitting near the restroom. They were going in the kitchen back and forth too.
Anyway we will never return back to the restaurant.
We had catering order for 22 people on 6th Nov. (Diwali Party). Food was good but dessert (Fruit Custard) was burned.no one ate it. We just threw it. Next day, we called but no reply. We sent an email still no reply. All other items were tasty and delicious. We didnot want anything from Dal Roti But expecting call or email back. I feel like they dont care once order is out. Atleast one apology call would have 4.5 star.
We had an excellent experience dining at the pickering location. Loved Non Veg tandoori platter-Tandoori chicken and seekh kebab were the best. Loved Gosht Rarra and Lachha parathas. Some places make the lachha parathas very thick and not so crispy but these guys nailed it, excellent. Must try the paan kulfi, they seve it with a dollop of gulkand, tastes nice. Great place, great food, great service
THE BEST place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisines. Chicken mix grill, mutton rara, daal makhni, methi matar malai are some of their preparations that you must NOT MISS! I haven't had a really good tandoori chicken since the time I came to Canada, but this is definitely the place to be. And oh! Paan kulfi is something to die for Thank you for satiating our taste buds with such amazing food. Loved it. Totally worth it and highly recommended!
We got food from Pickering location. Seems overpriced. $30 for 2 veg curries. Was thinking of doing catering from them but when went to location they increased price. It’s says $10.99 p/p on website but it’s actually $14.99 for veg.
We ordered take out. Horrible experience. Not worth the money they charge.naan so thick at the edges that not done at edges.very chewy.butter panner.sweet.veg Manchuria.taste sweet and bitter.dal tadhak was our savior.and helped with these 2 stars.tasted good.this is at no level authentic Indian food taste.not expected from a restaurant which is a chain.hope its just a day or else ur headed way too wrong
