Dairy Queen Grill & Chill

Absolutely disgusting in this place. Food is usually good until tonight. We ordered, then we drove 40 minutes back home, just to sit down to eat and find food at the bottom of one of our poutines, then, while my girlfriend was eating her burger, she spat out one of the bites to find 3 long hairs. All too long and the wrong color to be either of ours. Seeing as I wasn't going to make it back there before they close, I tried fo call. The 3rd time I called, someone answered, then immediately hung up on us. We tired ti call again, and they must have either turned the phone on so the line was busy and no incoming calls would come thru, or unplugged the phone line. I will be calling back tomorrow to put the manager on blast, because this is absolutely down right absolutely DISGUSTING, both the food, and the horrid service from the night shift employees. VERY VERY ANGRY

I don't know why I even bother with this place. Staff is awful, none of them have any idea what they are doing. And apparently the owner and manager don't know what they're doing either. How can an establishment thats menu consists of mostly burgers, not have burgers!? At dinner time! This place is a complete waste of time and money. This is my 3rd time changing my review. And they've been awful every time. Do some training and put in supply orders better. What a joke!

Very disappointed, placed an order for a cake it was not available when it was to be picked up by a friend. Staff didnt know which was was up all seemed unorganized and doing 10 things at once. Never again!

Very busy. Focus seems to be on the drive thru. One guy working the cash. He was super polite to every customer though, so props to him for keeping his cool.

Did not get what I ordered and thay were to not the size I ordered and thay were all 3 like mixed with random stuff that thay wanted bot what we asked for

Just a heads up if you like ice cream cakes - Minden charges $48.59 for a small cake. The exact same cake is $31.99-$33.99 in Lindsay, Orillia and Peterborough! So I paid $16 more FOR THE EXACT SAME CAKE. According to DQ Head Office, each franchise sets their own prices. I called Minden DQ and was told cakes just cost more in Minden. Huh? Well, this is a head scratcher. And the last ice cream cake I ever EVER buy locally. Very greedy of them.

The guy at the counter helping my family was a total rock star. He was so patient with my indecisive kids. Offered to read every sweet treat to them and even made a special treat for my little girl who wanted to design her own sundae. The customer service was greatly appreciated

I ordered the chicken strips with fry- ringsI waited a really long time to get less than half a fire bag of fries and like 5 rings. Both along with the strips are cold. For just under $29 dollars I expected better. First and last experience with the Minden Dairy Queen

I came to dq today to get some flame thrower crispy chicken wraps and this is what I got. If you plan on charging a few dollars on wraps please make sure there’s actually chicken inside this is very sad.

This place is a disaster and bottom of the barrel establishement. I go threw the drive thru atleadt once a week as its the only drive thru burger place in town. Not anymore, id rather starve.

The employees are rude and not trained well.
Almost every time my order is wrong. Tonight i recieved my food but not my drinks. Banged on the window 3 times until the confused employee opened it up and said " oh, why are you still here? "

Tonight i got the wrong burger with 2 lettuce "balls" on it.

Handed 4 melted Blizzards. Slammed into a carry out tray. Ice cream pouring out everywhere. 2 made wrong. Remade them and still melted all over the place. Never tipped upside down like they were supposed to because it would spill on to the counter. I could have literally used a straww to drink the Blizzard.
Very rude service by the staff.
I spent $85 in total for all my food and this is what I get handed? !
I emailed the company and the only thing they did was put my name in a book to get 4 free Blizzards next time I come in. Seems great IF I DIDN'T LIVE 4 HOURS AWAY!
They don't issue coupon replacement or refunds. You are forced to go back there. Which I'm not!
My daughter was going through drive through while I was inside and she reported the rudeness from the drive through staff.
Why would you hand out such terrible quality food?
I don't get it. It's not cheap.

Who doesn't love ice cream!? The DQ in Minden is great! Drive thru was fast, service was excellent and the food is always delicious!
P. S. - All you need on your menu is Mozzarella Sticks!

Stopped in Saturday on our way south. Ordered three kids meals and opted for slushies on two of them as a nice treat for the kids on the long drive. Slushy machine was broken so we were offered juice boxes instead, but wouldn't give a refund for the extra $$ the slushies cost. Then when I asked about getting the kids cones for dessert (which clearly say included) the worker stated that because I didn't ask at the time of order that I would have to pay extra for them!

I may travel through once a year but I will definitely avoid this establishment.

Giving two stars because the food we did get was tasty.

My first visit to this beautiful location in Minden Hills.
Great professional staff on duty to serve you.
Order was served quickly, had a chat with Kevin and get to know how he is enjoying working around here.
Keep up the good work
Will come and visit again while in town.

Stopped at the drive through at around 7: 20 pm Aug. 10/22. First off, the big menu is situated at the order booth, and the smaller hamburger menu is situated at the waiting area. It would have helped, if we could have seen the whole menu before we had to order. The sun was in a bad position and we couldn't see the drinks portion of the big menu either. The order taker had to wait a few minutes while we made our selections. There were four of us.
We placed our orders and had to change some of them. Ice cream was not available.
We ordered three combos and other food.
The order taker tried to be patient but she failed.
There were cars in front of us at all times.

Our order came to $53.14.
At no time, did she repeat our order back to us. This would have helped.

We picked up our order and headed on down the highway.
That is when we found we were missing a few items! So we turned around.

I took our food back in and the gentleman behind the order counter was very helpful.
Since we didn't receive a receipt, I told him the cost of our food. This helped greatly.
We went over the order and found we were missing two fry orders and not on the receipt, an onion ring order.
He took the one cold fry order back and dumped it. He then re-ordered the 3 fries and threw in the onion rings for free. This is customer service.

I wish we had seen on a screen OR heard our order repeated back to us. This would have saved us a lot of time. We were heading to the Kinmount theater to see "Top Gun" at 8: 00. We ended up being 6 minutes late. So we canceled our plans.

On the #1 burger my son ordered, he was disappointed to find it didn't come with ketchup or mustard. I don't know if this is normal.

Odd there was a QR code, beside the pick up window, but you are not given a receipt to enter the questionnaire. WHY?

PS the food was good.

Make sure you check your bag before you leave! The last 3 times we've gone, someone's dinner has been missing. When spending $70 on fast food, I at least expect it to all be there.

Edited: Will not be returning. Gave one last chance and it was still an awful experience. The staff is friendly enough but definitely need better training. I have wasted enough money and time.

This is a very good place to eat with good food and great service the only thing was they forgot to give us straws for are drinks other then that it was great there is parking on site and handycap parking and access and the cost is great too for just 7 bucks u can get 3 chicken strips with a side of dip a drink Fry's and a Sunday over all a great value

They have the two best ways to fatten you up deep fryer oil, meat and frozen heavy sweetened cream.

Clean and well maintained restaurant. Fast and courteous service. Our burgers were perfect and delivered to our table.

Good food and friendly staff but very very slow and sometimes mess up the order and give you the wrong food

Good burger. Fries are fake. Thats not how orange julius is made. Not even close. Service was ok. Owner appears suicidal.

This is my far the best run Dairy Queen I have ever seen. We were on the way home from 10days away at the cottage in Parry Sound. We decided to stop for a bite to eat. The staff were friendly and courteous. Our food was delivered to our table.when the young man mixed up when handing out the orders he was apologizing for not remembering. Then a young lady walk by us to check that everything was good. I've never been to a fast food restaurant where I have been no more than another customer wanting food fast. I'm really hoping this review is seen by someone who can pass it along. We will be back next year. This place is a must stop to.

Great location on main road through Minden. I always like ordering Dairy Queen cakes, unfortunately this location doesn't allow you to order online- instead you have to call in or come in person. I ordered a blizzard cake and it wasn't as I expected, not like the pictures online or like what I have ordered at other locations. Therefore I recommend you be very specific as to what your looking for. Wish there was more consistency from location to location.

Had a blizzard today at drive thru, both staff had a weird smile on their face and it seemed they were up to something, after I ate half it really bothered me and I through it away and now my stomach is really upset!

This location has parking and a drive thru window. Drive thru cashier was very friendly and polite. A favourite spot to go for some ice-cream. Appears to be a popular place to go! Other shops and eating establishments are located right next to each other.

Absolute horrible service!

If I could give this location zero stars or even go into the negatives for that matter I would. Not only did they completely overcharge my family for our meals, they messed up each one of our meals completely! They never gave us a receipt when we initially ordered and were told we would get it with our food.of which did not happen, so when we FINALLY received the receipt after asking twice they gave it to us all to see that it was completely wrong, when we went to try and fix the overcharge, one of the male staff members who had been working there for at least 3 years plus (At least since my family and I have been coming to this location), he said “You ate what you got though” and that was that. Such a horrible experience, awful customer service! Just how rude and disrespectful.no sorry for the mix up on their end or anything! Also a very disappointing experience was a trainee was extremely rude to my family when ordering as well as other families before and after we ordered.

Some staff were trying to get organized but obvious there was no management present. Many orders incorrect, waited over 15 min for 2 sundaes. Not made properly, order wrong, paid for medium-recd small. Waste of time & money $11+

If there was a choice to put zero stars I would. Ordered a Tropical Blizzard - an item I have been ordering for years - so it's not a surprise the teenager behind the register had no idea what it was. Simple; pecan, coconut and banana. They ring it in as a Hawaiian - which is fine but I can't have that because I'm allergic to pineapple. A small Blizzard came to over $7.00. When asked why, I was told I had to pay extra for the pecans AND the banana.why the banana you ask when the Hawaiian ALREADY comes with it? Yes, I have no idea either. The pecans are justifiable.

Essentially I was being charged the price of a blizzard with simply vanilla ice cream and coconut in it. Fair? I think not.

After asking to speak with the manager, to which the answer was "she's out probably doing some running around". So the inmates (the 4 teenagers working) get to run the asylum? Good business practice.

Bottom line, the customer service was deplorable, the teenager at the register (apparently he said it was his family's business) needs to learn how to deal with customers properly instead of getting defensive which made him impossible to speak with. I was told to do him a favor and "never come back". In the end I didn't want the Blizzard and just wanted my money back. The dirty looks from the other teens behind the counter sealed the deal. Getting heckled by the little posse on the way out was enough for me to have to write this review. I will also be writing to head office. Good luck!

The dq has grate food great seat very friendly staff amazing low prices and if you order and its a dine in they bring you order to your table

Decent location. It’s clean, staff is friendly. It’s very odd to have a DQ around here especially a year round one. It’s convenient but not very busy. Food was good, tons of cakes and stuff in their frozen section as well. No real complaints other than a slight order confusion.

Terrible service. I am a local and everyone here feels the same. Went today and ordered 4 burgers, got home and there was only 3. Was told I got what I paid for and there was no mistake. I spoke with thetowner who also served me and said she remembered the order but as soon as she realized they shorted the order she no longer recalled.
If you are looking for quick service or you like to get what you order I would suggest going a block ahead in the summer there is a great chip truck that will have you in and out in no time with better food and prices

In the winter you are far better to go to the 50s diner in the same plaza. Far better service, food and prices.

I was offered a burger at a whopping 50 percent off. Not only insulting but it was like I was trying to drive 20 km to get free food. I can afford a burger.

This is my favorite Dairy Queen ever. It looks upscale, the people are friendly and the service is great!

Friendly staff. Food was delicious. I ordered a flamethrower burger combo with poutine. It was very good. The cheese was nice and stringy and the gravy is amazing. A very rich deep flavour.
