This franchise location does not take part in the Dairy Queen app points. They also don't always have the blizzard flavors currently being promoted by other locations.

Went to use my points to only find out they don’t participate. If DQ is going to have points all locations should be participating.

Port Perry DQ is the worst. Girl didn't put the lids on my milkshakes properly. One milkshake is in the parking lot the other is smeared all over my car seat and floor. I went back in and complained and had to repurchase new milkshakes. Their screw up and I had to pay for two new ones. Not impressed and will take my money elsewhere from now on. When I do visit DQ the order is usually anywhere from $55-$70. I'll drive to bowmanville from now on.

They seem to not want to do what you ask. If you want to add something and they know that they won't add it and make sure you pay more for it

The worst Dairy Queen in existence. We live in Port Perry and will not go here. The owners and staff are rude, the building/food prep area is completely unsanitary and the way they operate is criminal. Three examples (of many!) :

1. My daughter had a long dark hair halfway through her parfait (she is blond). She showed them and they said "no refunds" and she asked if she could have a fresh one and they said they would only give her half because she ate half of the one with their hair in it. Unbelievable!

2. Due to a nut allergy, I need to get an alternate topping in the peanut buster parfait. EVERY OTHER DQ does a substitution with no questions and for no charge but this location charges $1.29 PER LAYER substituted so it adds $4.50 onto the price.making it cost about $13.00

3. They are the only location I am aware of that doesn't participate in the DQ app/rewards program or give free small cones on national ice cream day. Mind blowing how cheap they are, and rude to boot!

If you want ice cream in Port Perry, some excellent options are Perfect Scoop on Water Street or Nutty Chocolatier on Queen Street.great locations, service and products!

Wow! Such a bad attitude from the staff. I went on Sunday May 21st at 5: 50pm. Completely awful experience. Food was also subpar. Made with zero care or attention.

Ice cream is always consistent, drivethru is a little slow, been going here since it opened, still like it.

Terrible restaurant. I love DQ but DO NOT GO HERE! They scam you by making you pay more than what the actual prices are and treat their employees terrible. Do not support!

Staff were extremely rude, short tempered and impatient, also burger bun and fries were stale. I will never return to this location.

Food was acceptable however.

I'm sure we were over charged for our combo.

Staff was very unfriendly.
Any questions asked by us were answered with short responses followed by the supervisor stating "we have procedures we have to follow".

Perhaps that's why we were the only two in the place during the lunch hour (not even people in the drive through) ?

Reading all these comments on here and the facebook page. Hilariously atrocious customer service. How are they still in business? And the fact the owner of this DQ comments on all these reviews with zero attempt at making anything better.

All I wanted to do was find out the store hours for this location to go get a blizzard. Not posted anywhere. And glad I read all the comments because they dont deserve any business

Edit: again this owner clearly missed the point. I'm not driving to go look at your front door to check store hours. Post them online like every single other dairy queen

The last two visits the person at the drive thru window wouldn't extend the debit machine out the window making me have to stretch out in a weird angle.does she hate working there? I'm not sure why she acts this way.

My daughter and I went there for an early dinner and the customer service was absolutely awful. When inquiring why my total was so high not only did the female cashier rep answered me rudely another male cashier also stepped in being rude to be and raising his voice. I will never return this location.

Food was okay. Ice cream was fantastic! Customer service was lacking, no hellos or interaction.just someone staring at me and waiting for me to talk. Need to learn some people skills.

Worst DQ i've ever been to. Ordered a slushy and it was all liquid with no slush, asked for a refund and was told they wouldn't do it. Last time I come to this location.

Ice cream is cream, in a 30 degree heat outside I went in to the DQ and it was more unbearable inside than outside! The A/C was not on and no fan on either. The air was stale, stuffy and suffocating. I don't know how the staff was managing to work in these conditions. Needs a visit from the ministry of labor. Got my soft serve and was outa there in a flash to get a breath of fresh air. Noon 07-23-2022. Every other store I visited in Port Perry had working AC or cooling.

This has got to be the most run down location I have ever been to. From getting into the drive-through-very misleading with Country Style Donut (I think) arrows. They don't seem to have the same menu items. Lights aren't fully on (saving money maybe?). I can't see it staying in business much longer unless brought up to standard.
And-I ordered a mint choc chip shake (because the picture was the usual green shake with chocolate bits) I got a chocolate shake with choc bits and I asked why it wasn't green, drive through lady told me "only 1 pump allowed"

I would give less then one star. I went there to get a blizzard and some fries within an hour if eating it I was so sick. The blizzard tasted sort of off but I didn’t think much of it. From what I am hearing quite a few people have gotten sick from their ice cream! DO NOT GO HERE

I'm confused on the hours of operation here. I've tried to go a couple of times and they're closed I event check the front and it says they're suppose to be open but nothing. This place needs some serious TLC on the outside and some new management. Definitely won't be going back here.

The worst DQ. Honestly shouldn’t even be allowed to use the label. Doesn’t participate in most promotions. Cakes are very cheaply made, blizzard cake was almost completely straight ice cream, and wouldn’t even write Happy Birthday. Would not suggest.

The most DISRESPECTUFL and RUDE management I've ever encountered at a restaurant. We drove from the next town over to redeem a coupon for a BOGO $0.99 peanut buster parfait. The coupon said "of equal or lesser value" so we asked what else we were allowed to get with the coupon of equal or lesser value. We were told it's only the parfait and nothing else of equal or lesser value (which is fine we would have gone through with that purchase no problem). At the window we asked again about the coupon but the manager came to the window, wouldn't let us even speak. We weren't allowed to finish a sentence or ask the question and she threw the coupon back into our vehicle and told us to leave she won't serve us. Disgraceful service and based on the other reviews and now our experience, this manager needs to be fired.

We have had a few bad experiences. I am a past DQ employee and this is 100% not how we ever run the establishment. I wanted to order a cake however I was working and went on my lunch break to buy one and get it written on. However when I picked it out and was about to pay for it I asked if they would be able to put it in the back freezer as I was at work and would come right back to grab it. They refused to do this and pretty much told me I was crazy being super rude.

We went again and they made my blizzard wrong, which is no big deal. A few months later I went back for another blizzard. I wanted a blizzard but due to allergies I wanted to swap out a topping for a topping but they told me they can’t do that and would charge me a dollar a scoop of the topping I wanted to switch for. So I just changed my flavour. They then handed me the blizzard I had ordered in the past made wrong again! When I asked them if they could make it again they pretty much told me I was being an inconvenient and that what they made was pretty much the same thing.and her and the other staff stared at me and clearly were talking about me while we waited for the correct blizzard to be made. I don’t think my family will be returning the this location.

Went for ice cream with friends on Sunday after farmers market was really busy at drive but they were fairly fast to get our order done thank you

Dairy Queen is one of my favorite fast food places to eat, however, not this one!
Purchased a crispy chicken wrap and the size of the chicken strip in it was smaller than my thumb (approx less than an inch). Shame on you DQ!
Also no answer when called, no voicemail setup either.shame!

The staff at this location are not generally the friendliest, but I didn't go to see the staff or make friends, I went for the Ice Cream.

One of the worst ever experience by the shop owner or who I don't know, behaves like he is the Warren Buffet who started this Dairy Queen. So, firstly we are not your fan, we are the fan of DQ and their food and quality. Your behavior is not at all good. Very rude staff. Don't you have negative star option. However, your overall 2.9 rating is showing that how you are doing sir.

Horrible place was refused service today with masks on I have put a call into head office as well the staff were so rude.

Went for a ride and stopped to get quick lunch with the kids. Ordered 3 cheesburgers and two fries and asked for two ice waters. The staff said " we don't do that, we have bottled water. So, I ordered Two bottles since I had no choice, total tax in was $ 24.00. Kids drink a sip from the bottle and no more so it was a waste.feel like I have been ripped off. Never had this issue with " we don't do that". I will make sure I go next door to Wendys in the future.

Worst place ever so I came here and went to the front door don’t let you come in so a lady that was there went through the drive through they completely ignored her. Don’t wast your time her just go across to eniskillin or to circle k!

WORST DQ I’VE EVER VISITED. Stopped at this location on our way to go camping for the weekend. We tried to ask an employee for some assistance and he slammed the door on us and walked away. NO HELP AT ALL. When he finally gave us the time of day, we told him we were unable to go through the drive thru due to the boat we were towing. He told us he couldn’t help us, walked away and closed the door on us again. Absolutely awful service. Will never be back.

Tried to order icecream for which I was dreaming for 40km of my bike ride on the hot Sunday. When I got to Port Perry DQ I realized I don't have mask and due to covid I was not able to go in. I tried drive-thru and was able to place the order but then when employee noticed me on bicycle she slammed the window closed and said that because I am on bicycle I won't be able to get my icecream (apparently same rules apply for motorcycles) very bad service.and please don't tell me it is because of safety. I ride my bicycle on the streets and there is more danger there than drive-thru.horrible and rude service.never again will be stopping at this DQ

The worst DQ in whole Canada we got 2 Crispy Chicken Combos. The drinks were full of Ice with barely in Soda inside. The burgers had absolutely no sauce. When I went back to the drive-thru to ask for sauce they wanted to charge me extra and same thing for getting me a proper drink. Then after she even denied us service because we wanted the sauce for our burgers for free. I dc about 75c but when I pay $25 for 2 burgers they better be good. I would suggest to anyone that's coming here in Port perry. Go to Wendys right beside, not this DQ

The drive thru is open and they are doing in store pick up for cakes and novelty items (which seems fairly non essential) but if a trucker wants to stop and have a meal they refuse service. Wont allow walk throughs and will not serve food in store even though its open for non essentials. Thoroughly disappointing and will never be back.

Worst DQ of my life, don't go here. Steer clear, they delay the food, they can't make anything the way it's supposed to be. Come here if u wanna waste money

I can go to ANY Dairy Queen and get the same consistent meal every time. Lindsay Dairy Queen fantastic! Peterborough the same. How come when you go to Port Perry Dairy Queen you CONSISTENTLY get horrible food EVERY time.
The onion rings cooked beyond recognition, and I honestly looked at my Bacon Burger and threw it out as it looked like it would make me ill.
EVERY time, mad at myself for trying again, can't you do something about this?

Just had the worst experience ever. I was on the drive through. One customer in front of me got served. When it was my turn, I drove up to the speaker and no one answered me. I went on to the window and the associate just shouted at me “Go Away” and did not even bother coming to open the window. You’ve lost a customer. I’m really disappointed in this kind of service. There was a sign saying “Drive Through Open” so I don’t understand why I got this treatment.

With DQ you normally bank on consistent products location to location. Sadly, the Port Perry location has no standards for quality at all. When you speak to the manager/ owner about the lack of consistency and quality control. They don't seem to care, I even had the manager get irate and tell me to leave or he would have the police remove me! DQ corporate needs to take this franchise away and give it to someone who cares and values customers. I Did put in a complaint to corporate and I never got a call or email back. Do better DQ and take the franchise away!

I still love their cherry sundaes. Gf had a wrap and see said it was just okay. It is their slow season, so the place was almost empty.

I love Dairy Queen, but management with this store is really awful. You never know when they are open, if they are open they don’t have anything in stock, there is a complete lack of customer service. It’s disappointing to drive by on a Saturday at 2pm and they’re closed.

If I could give a negative star I would. What is the point of having coupons if you aren't allowed to use them at the drive through. Its business where there are plenty of other options available but we chose there. The owner or management is awful, and should not be allowed to be in customer service. This is how you lose business. And you have lost my business forever with the treatment of your customers.

I went to the Port Perry store last Sat.for yearly DQ January half price cake sale. The owners told me it was on Saturday Jan 25. Instead the sale was held on Wed Jan. 22. The managers of this store have no customer service skills and misinform customers
