OMG the LM&C!

Picked up the lobster Mac & cheese from the Sunday dinner menu and OMG! It is without a doubt the BEST Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The chunks of lobster are immense and the flavours? Rich, creamy and succulent.

This is our go to treat restaurant in London.

The service has never disappointed and the menu is always varied and spectacular.

Wine pairings with each course is a special treat. And the sticky toffee pudding is to die for.

Well balanced flavours and amazing execution. Attention to detail is also obvious in their ingredient prep. Really love their innovative menus as well.

Quaint atmosphere, quiet and very comfortable. We were welcomed, had our coats hung for us and seated right away. The gentleman who served us during our stay was the owner who clearly had great pride in his staff and establishment, and so he should. The food portions were very generous and very flavourful. I’d mentioned we were going to share the starter Caesar which was thoughtfully brought out to us on two plates. (Superb attention to details!) The chef was on point with food temp, taste and presentation. We will most definitely make the 25 minute drive to dine here again. Prices very reasonable. Staff amazing. A great evening out for dinner.

Excellent restaurant that we go to every year. The "trust me" menu is always a great experience that always surprises and impresses our family.

Great food, no wonder it’s always busy. We had the rabbit pate as appetizer which was amazing. I can’t recall the name tho. As for main course, I had scallops with salmon on top and that dish was delicious too.

Never disappointed and keep going back for many reasons as David and Natalie have that magic formula which ensures a complete and enjoyable dining experience. The harmony between front of house and kitchen cements all the elements that Chef Chapman has spent decades in perfecting and demonstrates why he has achieved (through the hard work of he and his team) what many consider to be London’s best restaurant.
The motivation for him isn’t any form of bragging rights but rather a love of food and the shared dining experience. The quality and consistency of the plate combined with all the other elements of service and married to what those who appreciate a great meal out, have built up a large and loyal (in some cases multigenerational) family of regular customers who are treated like an extended Bistro family.
The diversity of the menu with the ever creative Prix Fixe selections while his keeping tried and true favourites make this a place you always want to return to.
Chef Chapman has an inviting personality that shines through from the moment you enter until you leave sated from yet another great dining experience. His love of food and knowledge of ingredients and techniques are clearly a passion and he is happy to share his wit and culinary wisdom along with a canny sense of wine pairing to help you get the most of your time with him and his great staff. I have to say that David sort of personifies the Bistro ethos and experience as he is a casual and relaxed and most of all an inviting and warm personality.
The Bistro vision he started with remains as authentic today as when he first set out on this particular journey.
Truly a jewel in the crown of the London dining scene and without a doubt a must visit for anyone who enjoys a great meal, but more importantly a great meal out.
I have never had a bad meal or experience here and every visit ends with me looking forward to the next one.

We came here as a family and each appetizer and meal was scrumptious! David was an incredible waiter and host. The flavors were delicious, the wine pairings David brought for us were perfect, and overall it was a great night with great food! Will be back next time we’re in London!

Amazing! My husband picked this for dinner with my mom's surprise trip into town. We will be back to try more itmes. Everything was amazing. Service was great. Didn't feel rushed and was able to enjoy every bite of food!

Delightful downtown spot with a charming ambiance and great food. The shrimp and bacon pasta was the star here - these shrimp were so massive I thought they were crawfish at first! Very reasonable price/quality ratio.

There were 4 of us - everything was just excellent, including the perfectly attentive service from Natalie. Two of us had the prix fixe dinner which was braised brisket - so very tender and flavourful. One had wild boar and the last had ahi tuna. The tuna was purported to be the best ever eaten. When we return to the area, we will ALWAYS eat here! I personally thanked the chefs/kitchen staff for their great work.

I had a great experience at David’s. It took me longer than it should have to try this great gem. Now that I have it’s definitely one of the top restaurants on my list for London. Everything tasted Amazing and the service was excellent. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you.

Fantastic food. Great atmosphere. Amazing prices. If you get a chance to meet with David, who still works there - talk with him. Stories you will never get to hear anywhere else. The bistro is the epitome of class and culture.

The reviews gave us hope that it would be enjoyable, but it was better then we could have ever expected. If you get a chance to stop in for a night of food you will never forget - take the chance! We also had David serve us which added a special touch. Thank you endlessly for a night of food we will never forget and a cozy atmosphere.

If you are looking for friendly staff, top notch service, delicious food, interesting menu choices, wholesome ingredients, fun unpretentious atmosphere, with reasonable pricing for such a high quality experience, look no further. Consistently one of the best places in London to dine out. The ceasar salad is one of the best ever.

Outstanding experience. David was our server and he was fantastic. Just warm, extremely nice person. He perfectly paired every course with wines from around the world. Food was prepared perfectly, tasted phenomenal, and modified without issue to accommodate a dairy allergy. The busy yet relaxing vibe was exactly what we were looking for.

Next time we are back in town this is a guaranteed stop for dinner. Highly recommend you do too!
