Davidson Fire Extinguishers Sales & Service Ltd

In 2019, I enthusiastically went there with a firm intent to be a regular, since my needs for CO2 refills are quite often (paint ball and 15 lb CO2 tanks). I was confronted by the owner (I guess) of the business like I never experienced in any business in Ottawa in the last 35+ years, rude, arrogant, condescending, aggressive and threatening behaviour, horrible. At some point he said: "never come with your bike in front of my car". WOW, that's quite an attitude! Before that, making derisive comments, and hinting it to the customers around. Also making threatening postures when I decided to waive his services and leave. And all this because I asked a simple question if there is any discount on higher qties of CO2 refills (paint-ball), apparently he didn't like my accent, either. Makes you feel guilty for even being there and opening your mouth, so busy with his ego and arrogance. Never again. Even one star is too much. The other staff was listening to the whole situation with an open mouth. Someone from the customers, who apparently knew him well, even intervened, trying to mitigate the situation and saying that he (the customer) knew me and "confirmed" me being a good guy. What a world to step into. Ultimately, at that time, I decided not to make any fuss of that online, thinking, everybody can have a bad day, and I was the one who triggered it. But seeing more people confirming the same, convinced me to eventually come forward with it. I think, Better Business Bureau should learn about it too.the sooner the better. Directly after the incident, I went to Paint Ball Commando Action at 1638 Cyrville Rd, a completely different world, a no-nonsense, polite and quick service, same with DeFalcos in Orleans, professional and quick, what else can you expect.stayed their dedicated customer until today. Thank you guys from Commando Action and from DeFalcos!

My partner and I tried to get a fire extinguisher filled here the technician was extremely rude and demanding. When we said nevermind we will just take our business elsewhere, he said “GET BACK HERE NOW! ”, I was then cussed off the property by the technician while he was holding his private parts and making inappropriate comments about where he thinks I should put his private parts. Avoid this place unless you like paying to have profanities screamed at you.

I had a really great experience this place is professional and friendly. I got my CO 2 tank filled up, And they have really good prices. Thanks again looking forward to my next visit. Have a nice day.

Very knowledgeable staff wrt fire extinguishers. Best place to exchange your SodaStream tanks in town!

Used Davidson for a re-hydro certification on a carbon fiber paintball air tank. Great price, great service, accomadating for me being an out of town customer. 5/5 would reccomend.

Super efficient service! I was in and out in five minutes with a swapped out tank since my empty needed to be tested.

I called them twice and got the same ‘technician’ twice. The first time I called to find out how much it would cost to refill my tank. He was extremely rude to me, and spoke quite ambiguously about pricing.pp

The second time I asked how to know if I had to get my tank recertified. Said ‘check the date’ then hung up on me.

I don’t have a car, and wanted to make sure I had all the information I needed before hauling my tank there.

I called Fire-alert, and they were more than happy to answer my questions, and their are cheaper too. I’m going there instead

Walked in and they got a co2 tank for my sodastream filled and two fire extinguishers done in record time. Friendly as can be and do good work. Look forward to having them test my compressed air tanks and co2 tanks when they need it as well.

Original post: This is an ok place to get Co2 in Ottawa, but it is cheaper and the staff are more professional at Pyromateck in Gatineau which is just across the river. Pyromateck also has parking which is a challenge at Davidson's.

Edit: I returned to Davidson's in Oct 2018 because Pyromateck was out of Co2 and also because Defalco's (who now refills Co2 can only do 15 lb canisters or less). Staff happened to ask me who I was and when I told them my name. They had a suck fit citing this "bad" review of their operation.

So I now update this review and double down on them for not being professional. They went so far as to ask me to not return and I am happy to comply with that ask. They had a chance to have me adjust this review by changing my mind about the way they treat their clients, but instead they choose otherwise.

My suggestion is to get Beer Co2 from Pyro in Gatineau, and from Defalco's in Ottawa. Davidson's likely sees a huge decline in Co2 sales and cite this review not knowing Tony Defalco who used to send them hundreds of clients started selling to his own clients.
