I have been a customer for about 8 years now. I had to go in today for a cleaning and needed to bring my 5 month old baby girl. The hygienist was so patient with me when my baby got fussy and even needed a feed. Bless the receptionist who tried to calm her and walked around with her for a bit.
Top notch service and treatment as always. Thanks again.

Dawson Dental Guelph South is a fantastic office to be a patient with. I recently moved to another Dawson Dental closer to home, but for years I drove over an hour back to this office for its exceptional quality staff and welcoming environment.

Dr Tai is a kind and experienced Dentist who always pays attention to your needs and worked with me while getting over my dental anxiety.

Overall it felt like this office cares about giving you quality dental work and cares about making sure you’re happy with it.

I recommend the Guelph South location to anyone

Beware! If you have good benefits, they will find unnecessary procedures to do to get the money. They told me I needed a crown that would cost $2300 on a tooth. I decided to get a 2nd opinion due to the expense and the other dentist said she has no idea why they would say that as there was zero wrong with any of my teeth. With my husband, he was told he needed a gum graft. He also got a 2nd opinion from another dentist and was told he didn't need it. Very concerning!

Very friendly, and very on time appointment times. I love everything about Dawson Dental South! Also I'm visibly trans and they are very accepting people. They make me feel special when I walk in. I love the staff too! 5 out of 5!

Seriously am tired of the mistreatment from staff members. I called in today to reschedule an appointment due to a family emergency, and I was sighed at, and given extreme attitude for some reason. I understand that it was last minute but can we all agree that life happens sometimes? The receptionists and hygienists are just rude, and I’ve never had a good experience with anyone other than the dentist at Dawson Dental. Switching locations after today.

With all due respect; This is one of the worst locations for dentistry ever.
The staff do not have much knowledge of procedures, protocols in their location or even their practice. For example on the prior, the dentist did not know the options available to me nor did she know the pricing or process; on the latter, when I inquired on different procedures I can do they were uninformed. (Which is kind of scary when u think about how extensive teeth care is).
The only person I can say knows their stuff is one dental assistant and they are overworked and overburdened so they are not always forthcoming or pleasant. Rough around the edges until she warms up to you or you take sympathy for her circumstance.

Administratively, they have messed up my account balance and after several times of confirming everything was sorted out (their system messed up in their end) - they emailed me saying the issue is resolved and closed. A YEAR LATER they contacted me still about the account balance. What kind of disorganized system are they functioning on? If I knew the chaotic regime they follow i would have never ever gone there. I can’t trust an organization which can’t keep its books straight. I can’t trust an organization that can’t balance its books and sends emails every few months on a mistake they made. What if in some different world in their process this was accidentally sent to collections because of their mistake — the whole ring around would have really hurt me even though it would have been their tangle of a mess. All of this is very concerning to be honest.
I can’t even imagine how to handle them moving forward, I don’t even live in the city anymore.

Disorganized, unprofessional, uninformed.

Can't say enough good things about this office! Starting at reception, the ladies are friendly, welcoming and funny. Then the dental assistants who are super friendly and knowledgeable. Finally, the hygienists and doctors. Dr. Shen and Dr. Tai are both amazing and gentle with my kids and Alicia is great with them for their cleanings. My wife and I also see Dr. Nessim and we can not say enough good things about him, he has a great attitude and an even better sense of humor.

If you want an office that gets to know you on a personal level, this is the office for you.

The front office and business manager are horrible. This is not a dental office, rather a business that hires young dentists that can’t fund a practice of their own. No consistency in care, high turnover of all staff. I would not recommend this place

Amazing experience! I have anxiety and have never been comfortable at the dentist however the dentists at dawson dental made me feel very comfortable by explaining everything happening

I moved in Ontario and was looking for a professional and caring dentist and I found one at Dawson Dental on Gordon. Ever since I started to get services there I always had good experiences, very easy to get an appointment and the staff is always happy to help! Thanks to Dr. Shen for a professional service, for taking time to answer my questions/concerns and for achieving the goals we agreed on!

I saw Dr. Shen and Alicia today and my appointment couldn’t have gone better. Alicia is efficient, meticulous and has amazing chair side manor. Alicia was fantastic! Alicia offered to extend her day so that I could get in for my appointment due to some scheduling difficulties I was having…. Totally unexpected for a dentist office but wow that was incredible service! Alicia was amazing at explaining what I was having done and the steps that were involved…if you are looking for a new hygienist I couldn’t recommend Alicia anymore…she is awesome!

As always front staff were friendly and great to talk too. Had a cleaning which went above and beyond.

Dr Gelfand and the staff at Dawson dental are just amazing. I was recently referred to them to help with a cosmetic dental issues I had lived with for 20 years and was told by other dentists over the years could not be adequately resolved. Well Dr Gelfand is an artist and did an amazing job! Rudy, Emily and Kennedy have been just the friendliest people to deal with on all my visits. I have been highly recommending them to anyone who has noticed and asked about my smile makeover!

Never the same dentist seems when they hire a good one they don't stay long. Many issues with treatments and billing. My daughter had a very expensive repair done and I had to pay over $1000 to have it done properly by another dentist as it was never done right.

Had a great experience from start to finish, would highly recommend referring family and friends.

The staff are truly a great bunch. The dentist and hygienist who i saw was really caring and friendly. I got veneers done from them and couldn't be happier. For a dentist office they go above and beyond for the clients. The staff are professional, have a sense of humor and are fair. I highly recommend this location especially for cosmetic procedures.

Every time that I have an appointment at Dawson (on Gordon) I am greeted by smiling faces, a warm hello with my name. Hygienist is always friendly and prompt. But it's the front desk that starts my appointment off great. Keep up the good work.

I have only great things to say about Dawson South, the atmosphere is always friendly and super positive, the staff is wonderful, they are very professional, knowledgeable, warm and so happy! I have never had an appointment without hearing laughter both from staff and patients too!

I want to bring to your attention the failure root canal treatment I have received from Edward Gelfand at Dawson Dental Centre, 806 Gordon St, Guelph.
In 2011 January, I started my root canal treatment from a young male doctor at Dawson Centre. He did the treatment for me for two times and found out there were some difficulties to finish it because my root canal had a curve. The next time, this young doctor referred me to Edward Gelfand. This is how my nightmare started. Edward has done my root canal treatment in a very rough and rush way, like he was trying his best to save the time and finally done the treatment in rush. That young doctor was standing beside him watching when Edward was doing the root canal for me. After Edward done the treatment, he gave me the prescription of antibiotic (usually people do not need antibiotic for a regular root canal treatment). After the freezing gone, I felt my tooth was so hurt and there was a hard stuff underneath my gum. I realised Edward made a perforation on my root canal! The metal root canal filling material came out of the root of my tooth from that perforation! I went to dawson dental again, Edward did a surgery on my gum, he open my gum and cut off the metal that came out of my tooth. I was really angry that he did a failing root canal treatment to me. I argued with him about how he did the perforation on my tooth and he always tried to defend himself and even never admitted he failed to do the treatment! Honestly anyone who has a brain could see and feel the perforation. Even until now when I touch my gum I could feel the scar and dent he made on the root of my tooth! He thought it was easy for him to fool me around and to manipulate me. He was wrong. Later I did the CT scan. The perforation was clearly shown on all the CT scan photos! Other dentists were shocked about how terrible this root canal treatment he has done. They said all they could to was to pull this tooth out one day and to implant a tooth. I want to ask Edward, since he didn’t have ability to do this complicated root canal treatment, WHY he didn’t just stop like that younger dentist, WHY he didn’t refer me to a root canal specialist! All he cared about was money! He’s lack of responsibility and the ethics a doctor should have! I have paid thousands of dollars for this terrible treatment. And I’ll have to go though painful surgeries and to spend much to implant a tooth! I hope NOW he could take his responsibility to stand up to deal with this issue- for all the mental painful I have been suffering since 2011, and for the cost of tooth implantation and the painful process I’ll have to experience. If he didn’t want to face to it, I would have to resort to legal procedure to deal with this problem.

After years of bouncing between dentists I have finally found THE BEST dental office in town. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out the experience is the gold standard. I would highly recommend!

The best dental clinic I ever went to. Jesson Jacob is the best dental hygienist. He did my cleaning without hurting me. He is friendly and caring n did his job well. I came all the way from Mississauga to Guelph to clean my teeth. That explains it all!

Dawson Dental is professional, friendly, and very accommodating. Every staff member I interacted with from the receptionists to the hygienists and dentist were warm and friendly. I had my dental work done at this location for 5 years including multiple fillings, cleanings, and one whitening session. They always made things as comfortable as possible during every visit. When I notified Dawson Dental I was moving to BC, they gave me some of my favourite pina colada tooth polish during my last appointment to take to my new dentist. I genuinely miss them and wish there was a Dawson Dental on Vancouver Island.

I was very impressed with the friendly, accommodating staff and comfortable surroundings. I had to make use of their emergency dental care and they did much to make my visit pleasant despite the circumstances.

Great availability of appointments (evenings and weekends), always prompt with appointment times and everyone is very friendly!

Dawson Dental on Gordon is the Jiffy-Lube of dental offices. They sacrifice quality, care and compassion for speed and $$. They'll re-schedule your appointments at the last second to favour their schedules - on one occasion my appointment got moved so far in the day that the staff were in such a rush to get out. They told me I shouldn't bother with freezing, and started drilling without it. This was all done to save time on their end. I could go on and on about the terrible experiences I had here - avoid at all costs.

They charged us a bomb for just dental cleaning. I had to pay almost CAD 200 over my Insurance coverage. These guys are only interested in making a quick buck. I wouldn't recommend.

Always get me in fast wich helps in emergencys. Very nice staff and so far have not had any problems with them.

They treat patients very badly and have no accountability for their work. If they mess something up, they won't fix it just try to charge you more money and try to bully you into not complaining. They have a "buyer beware" attitude towards their services which is beyond inappropriate for healthcare. If you try to politely resolve an issue, they will just try to shift blame or be aggressive at you until you leave. I can't recommend strongly enough to not go to this awful place.

I had no previous issues with Dawson Dental, besides the feeling of constantly being told I needed work I was confident I didn't need, until relatively recently. I have not been to the office in over 2 years because I no longer have coverage. About a year ago, I received something in the mail saying a portion of my last appointment (which was over a YEAR ago) was not covered by my insurance. Though the amount was small, I was still concerned about the length of time it took for them to notify me about the remaining amount. I had called several times asking about it and I always got the same answer: "No one from finances is able to speak to you about this right now. " I also sent several emails and never received a response. I have still never received a copy of the original bill, which I asked for. I paid the remaining balance because I was tired of never receiving any help with the issue and it was negatively affecting my credit.
I would not recommend Dawson Dental to anyone. I constantly feel they are just trying to make as much money off of their patients as possible and actually have little concern for their patients' dental health.
