The oysters I ordered were far from a fresh and clean seafood experience. The gritty texture and lingering taste of dirt made it clear that proper cleaning was neglected. It left me with a rather unappetizing impression, and I won't be risking another try anytime soon.
I asked some questions about the oysters, but the person who do oysters couldn't provide any help at all. He couldn't even explain where the oysters came from. It was really disappointing
The wine list has good selection and reasonably priced. We had the $90 and $100 set dinner. The Cuban lobster tail and the Alaskan crab legs were great appetizers. The lobster bisques were great. The Sea Bass was excellent. We were told they get the entire sea bass and fillet it themselves. The tenderloin was beautifully cooked to medium rare. Finishing off with the tiramisu cake and the freshly dripped coffee. It was a night to remember. Excellent service throughout the night.
Foods are very good, but just we waited for a bit long for the main course, maybe the restaurant lack of servers. Hope they can have some more servers in the near future!
Came here expecting a quick dinner with family. Ended up paying 15% tips for a wait and subpar food and service. Perfect place for any homebody or elderly to kill time
The food quality was below the price expectation- the steak I ordered was bland and tasted like it hadn't been cooked or seasoned properly. On top of all this, the restaurant requires customers to pay a MANDATORY 15% tip regardless of the quality of service. I think this is unfair and unreasonable
I am impressed by the restaurant's atmosphere, high-quality food, and excellent service. The oysters were especially fresh, and the steak was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who loves great food, and great service. We will definitely come back.
Super nice place with great ambient! The oyster promotion was so worth it. Wife loves the whole lobster, I love the perfect medium ribeye. Very decent food with very reasonable price. Service was really good, would definitely come back again!
I do like my seafood pasta. They only have 2 oyster options during my date. (Tuesday) something that I don't like is no high chairs or boosters. I know this on the phone. But their chair cannot tie my portable high chairs. It's Not a Kid Friendly restaurant.
The food was incredible. My experience was amazing here and the service was excellent. They were attentive and so polite and honestly took really good care of me when I went. 10/10 would recommend
I loved my time here! The service was really top notch. Our waiter was amazing and the food was awesome too! Definitely will be revisiting and bringing my friends here.
We have great experience. Service is exceptional, all staffs are very friendly especially our server Samil. He took good care of us. Thank you. Food here is great, Price is reasonable, portion is generous. Environment is upscale and cozy.
Very cozy and nice restaurant. Staffs are all very welcoming. Just my medium steak was not done the way I expected (a little bit over cooked) everything else was perfect.
It used to be one of our to-go place for family gathering. Very slow service and food quality is not good. Don’t know if they changed the owner or the chef. The onion soup used to have loads of cheese melted on top but now it doesn’t taste good anymore. The steaks are not good too.
It was a birthday dinner came here with my friends, and we got a different set of $55 to $65; the only thing that was different compared was the appetizer. The food was okay, you don't have too many choices, and that's the good thing which means you don't need to struggle for it.
Took my family here for my dad's birthday. Very nice atmosphere and service was super attentive. Food was also very reasonably priced and ingredients were fresh. My brother really liked his steak and everything was well cooked and seasoned. Would definitely come back!
I came here for a birthday dinner with my family and had a wonderful night.
The 5 course meal was delicious, I would recommend the New Zealand Lamb rack. Samil was very attentive and a provided complimentary dessert as a birthday surprise.
Would recommend if you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate a special occassion.
We have been there several times and service was always great! The steak is cooked to my liking and ingredients are fresh. Our waiter Samil tonight was very attentive and very well mannered! He took great care of our table, we were all very satisfied!
We always love to go to the Day & Night Angus Steakhouse. The food and service are always excellent with reasonable price. Tonight we have Samil our server, he is extremely attentive and professional. Another splendid evening we enjoyed. Thank you Samil and Amy ️
We really like this place! The food is great and the service is even better! Samil is super nice and attentive. He gave us an amazing experience for our anniversary dinner!
A big disappointment. Before covid, they use to be amazing. Quality and everything use to be there. And now the service is terrible, an hour in and all we received was bread and appetizers for 2 out of 4 people. We were going to walk out but decided that we will pay for the drinks and appetizer. And the manager had the audacity to try and charge 30$ for lettuce that we didn't even want. We originally chose the mixed greens. Who in their right mind would pay 30$ for a leaf of lettuce. Why do people have to complain for them to start making service move faster. There wasn't even an abundance of people there. I'm not sure if management has changed, but it's extremely poor. There was nothing wrong with our server, it's what's happening in the kitchen and management. They shown us the food that they prepped and it looks nothing like how it use to. The meat did not look juicy. I had an issue going here before on a different day, and had the lamb rack which lacked in taste (it use to be my fav). They've clearly gone cheap with their meats and obviously stopped caring about the quality and service. I use to always, always recommend this place to everyone, but this is a place I will absolutely never go to again, nor do I recommend going here. It was a big waste of time and energy.
Good value, good ambience except two waitresses were talking loud in their dialect. We were not offered free welcome drinks as we did not ask for it, but was mentioned on the menu. Ordered 500ml Japanese beer but was served 330ml without noting.
I was there last night with my friend. The food quality was just fine, not the best. It simply because a 5-course fancy meal with coffee and juice for only $55 per person and I cannot complain, nice environment too. I would give it a 4-star. The service was good except the waitress had very long black hair with no tie back or cap. To my understanding, there is no food server in food industry can have their hair down. I was very uncomfortable for it would be so easy to transmit disease or at the very least, ruin my meal by the presence of a hair in my coffee or cheese cake. Both of us were extremely disappointed for such nice restaurant would have no knowledge that a waitress is the face of a restaurant! Adios!
Nice atmosphere, servers were polite and welcome. Delicious beef steak set menu, and lots of options for the raw Oyster. Cheaper than The Keg and other steak out, 4 stars!
Visited tonight. Rib steak was delicious albeit not cooked how I ordered. My colleague who I was eating with unfortunately was served an over cooked t-bone which tasted like shoe leather. The first T-bone was replaced with a barely cooked, not rare but raw steak which was also tough like shoe leather. My sense is that they have a bad batch of T Bone steaks + a chef who doesn’t know how to get the temperature of the steaks right. The manager did a terrible job of taking responsibility for the terrible dinner we had. I don’t think I’d ever return and I recommend anyone else go to another steakhouse and save their money. Gave a big tip to the server as she was very sweet and not her fault that the manager and the person on the grill were not professional.
Too overpriced for a not impressive fine dining experience. The seafood platter was only served cold and not enough variation. The drink menu was very sad with mediocre selections. The beers were only small bottles and again, sad selections of beers. The sake menu looked impressive but many were not available. Oysters were fresh but not opened properly, you could find pieces of shell in your mouth 50 percent of the time. The decor is more for a lounge or a club.
Pros: - quality and flavour of the steak - Packaging - Delivery guy
Cons: - ordered two steaks got only one steak - Ordered 5 different sides - only one side (mushrooms) worth eating the rest of the sides were below average. - I am all for quality over quantity but the sides had neither
Advice for the restaurant: Please put money into improving your sides - I don’t need fancy boxes.
Excellent restaurant, food is exceptional, customer service is unbelievable astoundingly wonderful, whether it just my wife and I or us and our sons, we're always more than satisfied.
Couldn’t get the order right the first time, the steaks came out raw. The waitress was arguing saying this is medium when clearly it was rare. Management is awful, had to wait 20 min for the bill and get on to ask again. Never going back to this place!
Great place for a date. I had a Groupon special and it was really good and exceeded my expectations. Usually these specials you get what you paid for, but this wasn't, the food was amazing. Had foie Gras, to lobster and steak. All cooked to perfection and presented well. Servers were attentative to all detail from utensils to refilling our water. Will come back to try their regular menu.
This place sure knows how to satisfy their customers. Constantly with a very nice approach. The food is conveniently priced, regularly fresh and clean.
The place offers an awesome variety of delicious food. I enjoy dining here. Staff members are always kind, pricing is fair and the place is always neat.
First time here and we were pleasantly surprised. We had an half a dozen oysters, 2 mains and 3 sides for $105 taxes in. I had the filet which was perfectly cooked and my husband liked his lamb. The service was slightly slower but still good. Great value steakhouse. Would definitely come back!
Just wanna say how long the food took to get here, took around 30 mins for bread, 50 mins for appetizer, an hour for the soup, then at 1hour and 27 my family’s steak arrives. When you wait an hour and 27 for steak, I’d expect it to be seasoned and everything, but there was just a small steak there with no seasoning whatsoever. The steak was cooked well though. Also this place is extremely expensive, we paid over 200 for 2 steaks, 2 soup, small appetizers, and dessert. I’m not even joking, my favourite thing that whole meal was my sprite. Don’t recommend going if you’re really hungry or you don’t want to spend a lot on the dinner. The servers didn’t talk to us, all they said was the order and pepper. The only person welcoming was the women who brings the people to the tables. The lobster bisque was ok but we can tell the lobster is canned. The lobster clearly didn’t taste fresh.
Got the price fixed menu. The onion soup was a single onion ring in bland broth. The lobster was a little chewy. The steak was a little tough and lacked seasoning or a seared edge. The restaurant was clean and the servers were friendly and attentive. Food was just ok.
Oysters are the only thing giving it 1 star. Everything else (steak bland, pork over cooked, lobster bisque canned, pasta over cooked and bland) was awful. Get the groupon so you don't pay the full price like me and be a fool.
Party of 4 after 9pm on a Tuesday for half price oysters. We were "greeted" by an emotionless male server who didn't say a single word to us. After receiving our drinks, we waited almost 20 minutes before asking our server (another male) to place our order because no one bothered to check up on us. We asked for a dozen assorted oysters as a sampler (took an extremely long time to receive the food), but we only received two types and we had to ask the server which ones were which as he just dropped off the plate without saying anything. We had to go up to the raw bar to see that there were actually other types of oysters available. We ordered another 3 dozen oysters but had to hunt down a server for extra lemons and condiments and water refill. Service here is absolutely terrible. The only good thing is the cheap oysters and convenient location.
Very nice restaurant with good atmosphere, the quality of their food is also very fresh and good quality.service is also remarkable.with their pricing, it's definitely a must go place in Markham area if you're looking for a place for better than typical casual dining
I went here for my birthday dinner a couple of days ago. I got a groupon for a 5-meal course and the food was just alright. I ordered the steak and though it was nicely juicy, it was a little bland and simple for and my friends. Even though they close at 1am and it was only 10: 30pm and with almost no one in the restaurant, I feel that there was a lack of attention from the staff. I just went there to try it, but I wouldnt recommend it unless you like your steaks as is.
Horrible experience. Oyster is not fresh and full of shell, they didn’t clean the oysters. I got my martini with water and ice and they told me is martini. I think they make in middle and forget. They make the mistake and the waiter told the manager I’m not even get a sorry for the mistakes. I come to enjoy fine dining and I don’t expect the shrimp with shell. Not organization every dish on the table same time. Seat is tight very uncomfortable. 千万别来
The staff try hard to please but there were a few things that didn’t meet my expectations. The salad was tasty. The lobster bisque was very salty and overly fishy tasting. The steak was tasty but fatty. And the only option for dessert was strawberry cheesecake - a minuscule slice that tasted nothing like cheesecake.
I had a glass of wine. The menu only offered single glasses (Strange for a restaurant?) and no one asked to see if I wanted another.
The decor was odd with a lot of neon clubby lighting and the size of the restaurant lacked the coziness you’d expect from a steak restaurant. The other diners were quite close and at one point everyone was on their cell phones. I didn’t notice any music and the service was very slow.
We had a Groupon and I’d estimate the vast majority of dinners as well. The deal is not really worth it. The Groupon was $50 for 2 ppl and we paid another $60 for 3 ppl total. For a bit more we could have eaten at the Octagon which is far better quality all round. Sorry - won’t be going back.
Came here with a Groupon. The salad and the lamb were delicious. Soup and dessert were not really that good. Service was good and the waitress serving us was nice.
I managed to find a Groupon here so I wanted to give it a try. Honestly, mediocre is the best way to describe the place. The saving grace of the meal is literally the salad dressing lineup.
Before I continue with the review, I want to point out that our server was lovely, she was helpful and nice and not intrusive.
I tried the foie gras appetizer, and I know what it's SUPPOSED to taste like, and then there's this one which had an odd bitter aftertaste to it, while the bread it comes on is sweetened a bit for some weird reason.
The lobster bisque is honestly not worth the order. There are a couple pieces of lobster - it comes with it right at the bottom and the server pours the soup on top. Entertaining but doesn't do much for flavour.
I had the striploin which was ordered medium rare. The center was indeed medium rare but approximately a 1 cm ring all around my steak was dry and a bit badly charred. My partner ordered the lamb rack, which wasn't bad but holy God is the gravy disappointing. It's watery and bitter. Don't eat it. None of the meat was seasoned before cooking, or even after plating.
Dessert. Oh dessert; I wanted so badly for it to be amazing. The mango mousse? Good. The weird soggy digestives biscuit base? Not so good.
Drinks - cocktails weren't much good. Bloody Mary was just an excuse to serve black pepper and Tabasco in a cup. I got the Purple Rain cocktail which tasted like I could have passed it off as a juice box to a child.
Overall, I spent money here. The benefit is that I never have to spend money here again.
The full course meal offered was done extremely well at a great price point. I had heard the rack of lamb was amazing from other people who came here before and I was not disappointed. They cooked it to perfection at medium rare. The service was also amazing, our server was personable and very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice and quiet with great lighting. I would definitely recommend a trip here.
Went today to celebrate my husband's birthday. Food and service was excellent. Our server Jessie was great. Atmosphere and music were nice. I definitely recommend it and we sure will be back.
My fiancee took me here for dinner, and we loved the atmosphere, as well as the food which was absolutely delicious. Our server, Jessie, was right on point, friendly, cheerful, reliant, and everything else you would want and expect a waitress to be. Ask for her, she's amazing:)
Beautiful restaurant. Unique design. Ample parking. Comfortable seating. We had a lovely courteous waitress. Food is tasty. Not big portions. Steak, seafood, lamb, shellfish, veggies. Priced to keep the riff raff out!
Service was an absolute disaster. Western restaurant owned/operated by Asians, who do not know what service really means. Had to ask which dish belongs to who, literally minutes after taking the order.
Only good thing is that food is decent, THANK GOD.
If you don’t have a Groupon for it, probably should not go waste your money here. Better off to spend money at The Keg.
