The Front desk girl was Very rude & racist who works at night specially. She has no manner.she doesn’t care about the customers & the business.

Terrible, terrible place. They surroundings are not the problem. The problem is the hotel, and if you are on the ground floor, it is like you are in a horror movie. Avoid coming here, telling you! It's up to you if believe or not, but dont get surprised after.

There was fungus in the air conditioner and bath tub was blocked. Worst experience and hair dryer also not even working.

The gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to accommodate us when the room we had booked was not what it was described as online. The hotel has a very dirty feel and could use a very thorough steam cleaning of all the carpets and elevator. The hotel is also located in a very "rough" neighborhood which made us feel unsafe to walk around to the areas we wished to visit

Really enjoyed our 4 nights and thankful for the upgrade to a King suite. Great location, walking distance to most sites. Sorry that the ice machine wasn't working, but loved having a Keurig in the room!

My wife had to go to Ottawa on business. Because she doesn’t have a credit card, I made the reservation for her. When she arrived, the hotel clerk refused her the room on the grounds the card has to be physically with the person who stays at the hotel for a deposit. Even thought I was on the phone with them confirming all the info on the credit card, and even thought she offered to make the deposit on her debit card, she was rudely sent out on the street with her luggage at night. I can’t believe the hotel would treat her this way and endanger her this way.

This place is not bad the area is close to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and it was good for the price. The area is close to a mission for the homeless so there quite a bit of unfortuate souls around but not worrisome. Close to a grocery and not far from byward market so that's a plus. All and all fully enjoyed my stay there.

There was not enough tea, coffee, towels in the room for the number of guests (however they fixed it upon request)
No slippers or robes provided
There was not even a bottle of water in the fridge, let alone minibar. They ask however for 200$ deposit!
Carpets are old and stained.

One of the most challenging places I have ever stayed at.

To start with I stood in on the street that was hostile waiting for the front desk person to let me in.

And it went downhill from there. To be fair to the lovely woman who attended to me, she was the highlight. The only highlight.

To get to the room I had to pass through three difficult doors. There was no baggage cart so I needed to take nine trips back and forth and with each trip I grew increasingly worried about my car. Would it be vandalized in the time between return visits.

Next, the room stinks. It's as though there was a flood or water leak and the smell lingers.

Next, I went to plug in my computer to the power bar on the desk. No Power.

I sat on the chair and it sank to the bottom.

There is no replacement chair. As I type, my knees are up to my chin.

There's more but I choose to forget it and will only be thankful that I have a delightful story to tell about my very challenging visit.

I'm back in Ottawa in two weeks and I'll be staying at another hotel.

My car was broken into. Please do not choose this place to stay. It is unsafe and there will be literally no action taken to help you in any way. When we complained to the manager, we were told they have TOO many security cameras and it would be recorded so no need to worry.

However, there was literally no action or even review of the footage for the cameras.

Our car was parked right in front of our room and this happened when we were out for dinner at night.

I do not recommend staying at this place because it is highly unsafe!

Close to byward market, rooms were clean and of decent size. The electric sockets did not work in the room and had just one spot where an extension cord was provided.

This hotel is surrounded by drug addicts and panhandlers. You gotta watch out for used needles in their parking lot. Staff is rude and lazy.

This place isn’t fancy by any means - but it does cover all your basic needs very well. It’s clean, it has AC, the wifi is fast and easy to get onto, check-in and check-out was easy, rooms were quite spacious for the price, service was great, and the entrance is keycard authorised for extra security. If you’re not looking to spend too much time at the hotel but you still want something that’s hassle-free and covers the necessities, this is the place.
