I started going to DBK Salon at York Mills last May 2023 and have been very happy with the excellent service, warm and friendly environment, and modern and spotless facility. I followed my hair stylist Suzan to this salon when she moved, and have never looked back! I highly recommend this salon! They’re experts in hair care and style!

I was at the store. The atmosphere was terrible. It was very noisy and loud. The staff were very loud and impolite and disrespectful.

Was looking for a colourist to do a very bright pinkish red. Had tried other places and always disappointed with the color and fading. Found DBK online and decided to try them after the positive reviews. Elisia was an absolute magician. She was spot on with my color and what a beautiful personality and went above and beyond. She is definitely an asset to the business. Pricing was extremely reasonable for the service. I think I found my forever salon

I've been going to DBK for about two years now and i'm always happy with the results. I went in to get a cut and colour; i'm a natural brunette and wanted to go blonde - so happy with the results especially because it was a drastic change! I am extremely pleased my service at this location. About two months ago I had gum stuck in my hair. In my frustration to get it out I cut a chunk of my hair in the back. First thing on Saturday morning started looking for available hair stylist who can salvage and fix my hairdo. The manager at Dbl was extremely nice and set me up with appointment with A junior stylist right the way. Nita the hairdresser was awesome. She did an amazing job cutting and styling my hair. I got so many compliments on my new hair do from family and friends. She is incredibly talented and very pleasant, especially working with shorter hair styles and texturizing hair. I am getting a refreshment cut vey soon.

I have been coming to this hair salon for a very long time and many different stylists have worked on my hair. Most of the stylists are great, but I wanted to highlight Viry. She is amazing! I have never left without being happy with her work. She pays attention to detail and does not finish until she feels the cut is perfect. She is also easy to chat with and makes the whole experience pleasant.

Viry is a miracle worker! My hair was butchered by someone at a different salon. I went to several salons looking for a stylist to fix it. All, EXCEPT VIRY, looked shocked and pitying, shook their heads and told me I will have to grow out my hair for 3-6 months before they can salvage my hair.
Thank goodness for Viry. She took the time to assess my hacked up hair and told me that, although it would indeed take several months to grow out the chopped hair, she can make it more manageable and minimize the butchered look. And that's exactly what she did! I left the salon looking and feeling better.

I moved to Toronto a few years back and have continued to travel outside of the city to my previous hair stylist. Now, as a new mom, there simply isn’t time for that sort of travel over and above the length of a typical hair appointment. After searching online for salons close to where I reside, I decided to book an in-person consultation with Viry at the DBK Yorkmills location. During this initial appointment, she had assessed the current state of my hair, inquired about my hair history, current products used, etc, and ultimately decided if the photos I had brought with me were suitable for myself and possible for her to achieve. The team at DBK came together and discussed the best options for me moving forward, provided me with a full outline of their ‘plan’, pricing, timeframe, what to expect for future appointments etc. This sort of transparency and professionalism made the initial experience a little less nerve wracking. Having gone to a stylist who worked from her home, this was a completely new “salon experience” for me and I was very comfortable with the transition. My appointment/services were even booked/available the same day as the consult - no waiting period - which is great for such a busy location. Though the full service of balayage, smudge root, toner, cut, style/blow dry takes longer than anyone would probably enjoy (‘pain’ is beauty), Viry is the most thorough stylist I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting; her attention to detail is outstanding. I just returned for a second “refresh” service today and was even happier with the results than I was after my initial visit. I’m not sure how that’s even possible **flips my new beautiful hair**. If you’ve continued reading up to this point, what are you waiting for? GO book a consult. You won’t regret it.

I have been to DBK twice, Candy is extremely precision! I have very straight shoulder length hair and she cut my hair amazingly! I actually live in Ottawa and have not found anyone who has been able to cut like her, pure talent an artist! I am a former stylist and this salon is very clean and I enjoyed watching the skilled staff l highly recommend you go here, you won’t be disappointed! Prices are fair here as well, after all we wear our hair everyday!

I went for a keratin treatment after reading great reviews about this salon but I'm totally disappointed I spent almost $600 and the treatment just didn't work on my hair though they did it two times, my hair looks worse than before. I just lost a weeks salary on a completely useless service and on top I was told that i had unrealistic expectations about the treatment and also it might not have worked because I did color almost 2 yrs back which makes absolutely no sense

One of my worst haircuts ever, basically the haircut I got ruined my summer and it makes me feel depressed every time I see myself in the mirror. Faiza was my hairstylist. I told her from the beginning that my hair was too long and I wanted it a little bit shorter, so it will be easier for me to do curls with an hair straightener.
She cut the hair to the length I wanted, I confirmed the length, but then she started to "straighten it" a bit and she cut another approximately 8 cm!
When I realised I said to not make a big deal out of it, because it will grow, but when I washed my hair the first time at home, I saw how horrible the haircut is (it's not even straight).

Later edit: the manager contacted me to apologize and to offer me a solution. He was very empathetic and displayed professionalism. In the end I got a complete refund.

It's a shame I had a bad experience. My friend who has curly hair went to the salon before me and she was very, very happy with her haircut and the services (I think Daniel was the name of the hairstylist)

Ace has been cutting my hair since 2008. Very happy with the consistent service and professionalism, this is why I'm a loyal cusotmer of 13+ years!

I have long dark black hair and wanted to color it for the first time. Frank, my stylist carefully listened to my requirements and gave me a few suggestions as well. He nailed the hair color and my requirements! Extremely happy with the outcome. Nita blow dried and styled my hair and she is a sweetheart!
Everyone was really friendly and I will surely be going back.

Faiza is soooo good! Always does a great job with my hair and the whole salon experience is fantastic. Have been coming to her for my haircuts and product purchases for a few years now and bring my teenage son who feels the same as well.

Faiza did an amazing job on both my haircut and the colour that she picked. After 4 hours of hard work the results are breathtaking. Will definitely return for many more with lots of pleasure. Faiza has a lot of patience and is always eager to help get you the best results. A definite winner.

I was in need of hair colouring/tone after the previous colour faded. I booked a balayage + tone with Sabrina. From walking in I was greeted by front staff and then Sabrina walked me to consult about my hair history and inspiration photos. She was such a wonderful person through the whole process and made sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what to expect.

Sabrina was able to apply her expertise and recommendations on which hair levels worked best, and the outcome exceeded my expectations! Now it has faded a bit but still looks natural. I will definitely be back in future! Thank you again:)

I have tried many stylist in NORTH YORK and can definitely say that Matin has been the best, particularly dealing with my difficult hair style. I recommend her quite confidently. Also the Salon is immaculately Clean and the management is highly professional.

Faiza at DBK York Mills is an incredible stylist. I am a former Fiorio client, who went to DBK after becoming unsatisfied with the cuts I was getting. Faiza patiently explained I’d have to patiently grow out a whole bunch of layers in my hair, haphazard layers that were taking away from the overall style I wanted. Once the layers grew out, I could get the cut I wanted. She then gave me an interim dry cut, which is what I wanted, and weeks later, this cut keeps evolving into a style I love. I can’t wait to head back to her for the cut I actually want and I know I’ll be blown away by her wizardry!

I found my dream team at DBK York Mills! Mahsa’s balayage technique is meticulous and her colour application never fails, no matter what the season! She has a great sense of colour and aims to please! Dahn, her awesome colleague, cuts my hair with a careful precision I’ve never quite seen before! He too, has great integrity in the quality of his work and always treats me with respect. In fact, the stylists at DBK are quite the team. They always help each other out and politely address one another as they go about doing their work. I loved my experience at DBK so much, I brought my 13 year old daughter in to get her haircut, too! I called on the day of to see if they accepted walk-ins and they told me to come in immediately. The staff were lovely, the door was fully ajar and they were super clean so I felt great about my first pandemic haircut.

Candy was truly LOVELY, told me about the price before she started to make sure it was OK, and the haircut is amazing—she’s clearly very skilled. I have a lot of hair, it is really thick, AND I keep it pretty much pixie length. So pleased.

Also, Viri is the best with my hair. She understands my look and treats my hear with care and perfectionism. She has magic within her, for since I started seeing her my hair started to grow! I just love her.

I have gotten my hair done and cut here multiple times and I love it! Most recently Sara cut my hair and she did an amazing job. She gave me a lot of info about hair care and the process of dying my hair as I am doing a first-time colour next week. Mia, who will be colouring my hair, also took a good chunk of time to go through the process and really understand what I want my hair to look like. I really appreciated this as it is a big step for me and I was feeling nervous about dying my hair. Overall! I would definitely come back:) Very happy with the results!

I understand the government has implemented new closures - Starting Monday, November 23rd - but to hang a sign in the window (before closure) stating "TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNIL TUESDAY" - which is when they should be in lockdown and closed - and not calling or emailing clients they were closing PRIOR to mandatory lockdown is completely unprofessional, rude and a huge waste of everyones time.

You had the time to type up and print out a sign - you could have easily called, copy and pasted and email or sent a general email to your clients letting them know that anyone that had appointments on the weekend were being rescheduled and that you were shutting down.

I sat outside for 15 minutes at 9am and watched at least 3 other people walk up to the door for their appointment, get upset, pull out their cell phones, and leave. If I could give this salon negative stars I would.

This is not how you treat customers. Period. I truly understand these are hard and evolving times - but your job as a business that provides to the general public is to inform clients when you will not be able to provide the services on the date and time you have agreed upon.

Matin was my hairdresser, she gave me an excellent haircut and very close to the specifications I gave her at the beginning of the session. Slightly on the pricey side but definitely recommend! They are very safe with covid protocols with masks, hand sanitizer, temperature check.

Once again my hair looks terrific after Ace took care of it. Since I started going to DBK and seeing Ace, I walk out with truly the best hair cut and colour ever. Thank you to all the terrific staff at DBK for their great effort during these COVID times.

Very nice salon! Easy/quick online booking, nice and pleasant staff. I don't know the name of the lady who washed my hair, but she made the best scalp massage ever. I had my haircut by Amanda and I really liked it. Looking forward for my next appointment.

I went to DBK salon and my stylist name is "Viry" and I can honestly say by far the best stylist I ever had. Ever. She is very knowledgeable and professional.
