It was good but I didn't eat all day so I was looking forward to the pizza skull which they advertise but didn't have so I was disappointed. The coffee was good at least and the stuff they have that you can buy is really cool

Coffee tastes okay, but ambience is great for experimenting with Halloween theme all year round.

Everytime I come in, I am greeted promptly and coffee is always served hot and delicious. If you want a completely different vibe of a coffeehouse, Deadly Grounds is the place to be. You have a coffee shop, a tattoo shop and cannabis dispensary all in one location. How can you go wrong? Go check out this establishment, you won't be disappointed

A total must visit! Atmosphere is amazing and super unique, baristas are always lovely and friendly, and horror theme is executed with perfection!

This coffee has ruined me for all other coffee in the best way possible. Seriously. I live far away from the shop as well as most of their distributors so I buy a years worth at a time and keep it in the freezer. When it runs out I just stop drinking coffee until I can restock…I just can’t find any that I like as much as Deadly Grounds. I have tried atleast a half dozen flavours and they are all amazing. I’m deadly serious, this coffee is definitely to die for. If you’re lucky enough to be able to check them out in person you should! Otherwise, they have an amazing website for online orders that is super user friendly.

Better than starbucks, you actually taste the coffee and it's not filled with sugar.

I live 40 minutes away and it's worth the trip every single time.

There is a ton on horror themed merchandise on display and for purchase by local vendors. As well as the Superzooka space that has retro and unique goods for sale.

The Booristas and Arielle make me feel like family whenever I'm there and I always receive the warmest welcome.

Their after regular hours events are a good time for adults too.

I guess what I'm saying is I love this place!

Delicious drinks! Pretty much all can be made vegan. My son was very pleased with his vegan cake pop too. The service was friendly and fantastic! We really loved the spooky atmosphere. It was such a unique experience. We can't wait to come back!

The flavoured coffee is (excuse the pun) to die for! Rocky Road in particular has become a household favourite.

Although this store had a very cool
atmosphere, I have to say that the staff (2 young ladies in their early twenties) weren’t very friendly or helpful. I’d gone early on a Saturday morning (traveled an hour by car) and upon entering, I wasn’t greeted, even though there was only one other customer in there at the time. No “Welcome. ” No “Good morning”. No “Is there anything I can help you with? ” NOTHING! I was in there for 10-15 minutes. BIG letdown. I don’t see myself purchasing anything else from them again.

Love this cafe, amazing coffee, food, merchandise and atmosphere. My kids love going here and the Nintendo games available to play!

Hubby buys their ground coffee all the time. Never disappoints. Today we ordered a bunch of lattes and some baked goods. All were yummy and their customer service was top notch.

The atmosphere in this place is amazing. It's a fav coffee shop to get coffee. And their coffee is amazing! I never know which flavors to pick because they are all soooooo good. Opening that bag of beans at home in the morning and that smell the erupts from the bag is just almost better than drinking it.ha

Very unique coffee shop with a very good iced white chocolate coffee. They're into the spooky stuff and had a special Friday set up. Our barista was fantastic very friendly and recommended a few cold coffees

I was in Los Angeles this summer and had a pour over coffee from Blue Bottle which I thought was the best coffee I'd ever have. I was wrong. I had a pour over dark prince (? I think that was the name?) added a splash of half and half and wow.amazing. The fact that the cafe is really cool and has all sorts of neat horror themed paraphernalia is secondary to the fact their product is so amazing. Everyone was helpful and friendly. If you don't go here you are missing out.

One of a kind. It’s a must see in my opinion if driving through courtice. Not only are the menu options unique and delicious the entire atmosphere of the joint is impeccable. Only good things to say here- also the staff are super friendly!

We love going here, always buy their coffee for at home & go almost every weekend for our weekly coffee/drinks & treats, especially their banana bread skull muffin and shortbread cookies. Atmosphere is awesome & Staff is always so friendly, they almost always have my husband's part of our order started as he walks in (as mine changes weekly)

I went Here for the first time on the weekend with my son, wife and extended family. This place is very welcoming and geared towards hanging out and being your Individual self. I left with a wicked "hail satan" mug and a bag of "death by chocolate" coffee. Not to mention an awesome retro warriors snapback. First impression. ******* amazing and I am automatically saying this is my favorite coffee spot. Can't wait to go here more often and bring some of metal head friends. The staff were very cool and welcoming. You can tell there is no judgment there just by the fact the employees arnt all dressed the same and all have there own personalities.
Over all. 20/10 on the coffee and coffee options. 666/10 for there staff who were lively and personable.

Great place for handmade gourmet coffee and tea drinks, vast and original collection of grounds and teas to go. The staff is really friendly and nice. The theme is so spooky and different! We drove out here on a Sunday morning and it was great! Made our day!

Great little coffee shop around the corner. Don't waste your time going to the 'iconic' Canadian coffee shop down the street. If you want amazing coffee in a cup or bag, go to Deadly Grounds instead.

My new #1 coffee house. Just to walk in is an experience. They have novelty products I haven't seen before and would actually buy.

The coolest cafe I’ve ever been to! I’m so glad they’re still open during this pandemic and serving their spooky delicious coffees and concoctions. Every time you step inside it seems like there’s something new to look at, they have very cool merch, and the environment is very relaxing/chill – the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in peace. The staff is very hip, friendly and helpful, and they prepare the drinks in very good time.

This is our go-to whenever we’re in the mood for awesome drinks. I would definitely recommend this cool spot to anyone and everyone:)

My girlfriend took me here today for the first time and it was like my own personal slice of heaven! Great atmosphere and the staff behind the counter we're extremely chilled; they made you feel welcomed instantly. Coffee was killer also, you definitely have to go here!

Hands down the best coffee in Durham, especially if you love everything and anything horror! These roasters are churning out great new flavours to die for and the staff is very friendly, ready to answer all your questions about which grind is best for your needs.

I really enjoy the atmosphere here. The coffee is not bad. I tend to like their selection from Brazil like taste invaders. Can’t go wrong with that kind of bean.

There are a lot of reviews with low ratings for some rather silly and petty reasons. So as a long-time customer of the company (I have been buying long before the cafe opened), I would like to address a few things.
I can tell you right now that not only are the owners some of the most amazing people you will ever meet. They happen to have some of the best coffee I have had in a long time. The thing these reviewers seem to forget is that this is a small privately owned and run business.
I have been to the café a couple of times despite it being a 45-minute drive inside this unique café you will find an assortment of items you can purchase from small business owners. You see, the owners care about the communities they are apart of and do what they can to help others. My second time there I had left my purse and was an hour and half away before noticing. When I called, they were more than helpful and located and stored it in a safe location, offering to stay after close for me to pick it up. I had someone grab it for me (still my hero!) and am extremely grateful for their quick response.
Recently, a woman, lets call her SA, wrote a review about her unhappiness over the packaging her purchase was in and the delayed response from this small business. During a global pandemic no less! It seems SA cannot understand that the company is doing everything it can during these unprecedented times to continue to run and keep the business going. What the reviewer fails to realize is that many of the supplies DG and many other businesses require supplies are not available do to the lockdowns and closures for COVID as they are deemed nonessential. SA appears to lack empathy and some sort of sense of entitlement.
While I write this review. I am ordering more coffee because I support small business instead expecting them to cater to my needs and the coffee is great. I do not care if it comes in a ziplock bag.

Ordered for the first time and screwed up my order. I emailed to see if I could fix it and had a response within an hour and my order corrected to what I meant to order. I ordered Dark French and Haunted house. My order was delivered 2 days later and smelled amazing. I brewed a pot right away and was not disappointed. Will definitely order again and try some more flavors!

I have not been in to the cafe but was ordering product regularly online. After the customer service I've received of late, I will never do so again.

I have been trying for over six weeks to get a very simple answer to a very simple question: Will Deadly Grounds continue to package its tea in plastic or return to packaging in glass?

I am committed to the zero-waste/plastic-free lifestyle I lead. I work hard at avoiding plastics, so I was thrilled to purchase Deadly Grounds teas in these beautiful glass containers that I could reuse for other things once they were emptied. But then I placed in order way back in November and, to my surprise, my teas came packaged in plastic.

I spent the next three weeks sending 2-3 emails to the email address on the website (emailing Brad) asking whether the plastic was a permanent thing or whether the teas would be going back to being packaged in glass. When all of those emails went ignored, I called the store and spoke with someone named Katie. She gave me her personal email address and asked that I contact her there with my question so that my email could be responded to more quickly.

Turns out that didn't work either, because I spent another 3 emails over another 3 weeks emailing that address basically having to beg for the answer to this simple question and getting ignored.

I finally emailed yesterday and basically said "okay.nevermind. I just wanted to know about the plastic because it was going to determine whether I remain a customer or not. But it's irrelevant now because this horrible customer service has guaranteed that I will not remain a customer either way".

Funnily, Katie responded IMMEDIATELY to that email. Figures.once I say you've lost my business you're interesting in stopping ignoring me.

Well.her response was garbage. It made the customer service even worse than ignoring me for 6 weeks over 4-6 emails did. Her whole email was two sentences: one in which she never bothered to apologize but, instead, made excuses for ignoring my many emails (blaming the holiday season and covid-19), and a second sentence in which she said "we are keeping the tea bottles".

Soooo.your answer to my question "how will your tea be packaged" is "our tea will be packaged"? !? !? !

As you can tell, this does not even answer my bloody question. Obviously I know you'll still be packaging your tea. My questions for over a month and a half has been "IN WHAT? !? ! ". So I immediately replied "can you clarify whether that means you'll be keeping them in plastic or glass", thinking I would maybe finally get an answer to this extremely simple question I've been asking for over a month and half.

Well.that email got ignored, too. They went right back to not answering me and I STILL have not received the information I needed.

In short, I do not recommend Deadly Grounds to anyone who is eco-conscious because the company seems to be deliberately non-transparent about whether their packaging is eco-friendly. They will ignore your question for as long as they possibly can. When they finally do respond, they will deliberately fail to answer your question by stating the obvious instead of providing the information you actually asked for. When you ask for clarification, they will go back to ignoring you.

I also do not recommend this place if you care about getting good customer service. I am a regular customer and a friend of a good friend of the owners', but I still got treated like complete garbage. I can't imagine the service one would receive if they didn't even have continued loyalty or a personal connection to rely on.

People like this place because it's kitschy and people think that's super cute. But it seems like mine is not the first review to complain about bad customer service. I think folks should think twice before patronizing this business.

Went in today to get some coffee beans for a gift. The staff were very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. While there, we even got a treat and it came with a free coffee! Thank you, we will for sure be back)

A unique sense of taste for a coffee shop. This place is well decorated, and has great coffee's, hot chocolates & baked goods. If you're looking for a special gift or a horror fan yourself, this place is calling for you! Even the staff are a great team to chat with as they prepare your order. Especially in Durham, you can't find a place that takes advantage of all 5 senses. Glad I'm a short walk from a coffee shop that isn't a bland Tim Hortons

I visited Deadly Grounds today and got myself the Winchester Latte, a banana skull muffin and two bags of coffee. Even though I was in for a brief period obviously due to COVID (otherwise I would have sat in and enjoyed the ambience) it was a lovely experience. The barista who took our order was amazing! This was our first visit and it was a great experience. 100% will come back!

Being a huge coffee lover, I've been wanting to stop by Deadly grounds for a while now. I finally had time this morning. It's such a unique experience. Coffee is great too, which is a plus. Staff was extremely helpful, upbeat and fun. The café is a goth or horror movie buff's Playland. I'm not a horror movie fan but I really enjoyed my visit. I'll definitely be back.

Getting a warm drink should be simple and straight forward, maybe even inviting enough to stay. Unfortunately not the case here.

Such an awesome little place - probably the most unique coffee shop I've ever been in. Friendly staff, good food, cool things to look at, and the coffee was exceptional. I bought some to take home and its the first coffee I've had that warrants taking it in an insulated mug to work. I don't think I'll be buying any other kind of coffee again!

I fell in love with the idea of good coffee and a horror theme when I first saw Deadly Grounds at Enniskillen General Store. The beans and decor are great. The brewed coffee and mixed coffee based drinks are excellent. The Peanut Bludder is my personal favorite. The decor is great if you're a fan of horror especially classic horror. Has a bit of an 80s feel in my opinion (in a good way).

Latte is excellent, Rot chocolate was one of the best I have tasted. Cool Vibe, friendly staff, definitely a great coffee experience. Must experience.

I've heard their coffee beans are amazing. I haven't tried so I will not comment on that. My review is from a cafe/restaurant perspective. A got a speciality latte, my husband got a coffee. Not impressed found the latte extremely sweet and the coffee was not fresh, provided in a thermos kept to the side as self serve. As a shop that specializes in coffee, you would think it would be fresh coffee made to order. Coffee press would be nice, or even fresh brewed. Baked goods were also, at best average. Also the bathrooms were not clean, and garbage full. Will try again as I hope this was a one off. We are big coffee people, so we had higher expectations.

Absolutely LOVE this place! I'm not a big coffee person but after trying some different kinds I walked out with 3 bags of deliciousness! The artwork and uniqueness of this place is amazing. I bought a print and will be back for more. If you like horror this is your new go to place! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell they love working there. If I lived closer I would be there everyday but for now I will have to just pop in when I can and order my "never sleep again" coffee online:)

I waited outside in line this morning for the doughnuts that I heard were popular. Needless to say, they most certainly are! Very delicious but very outrageous prices. $40 for half a dozen of those? ! Otherwise, the place and the staff alone are great but I really think they need to make the prices more affordable for doughnuts. With that same cost I could get 4 boxes of dozen doughnuts at Tim Hortons.

The owners, Brad & Katie, are some of the most down-to-earth, friendly people you'll ever meet. They have a fantastic selection of coffee & they're always coming up with creative new drink ideas to treat your tasebuds. This place is definitely worth the visit!

Staff were super friendly and the place is SO unique! Quirky gifts and items, as well as incredibly delicious drinks and desserts from their vendors. I visited from out of town while waiting for the VIA train to come in with a friend, and they were just amazing. 10/10 can't wait to go back!
