Dearborn Restaurant

My friend and I were in Waterloo for the day, saw this place and decided to grab a bite to eat. We walked in, stood beside the sign that instructed us to wait to be seated and were made to feel invisible for the next 15 minutes or so. The server continuously walked past us without so much as a greeting, eye contact or even the simplest acknowledgement that we were there. Realizing that our money obviously has no value to those that own and staff this restaurant, we walked out and went to a different spot that accommodated us in a less awkward manner. I’ve never felt less welcomed at an establishment and will not be returning.

A great dinner with excellent breakfast. I got the hungry boy which was 3 eggs, toast 3 pieces of bacon, 3 breakfast sausage and 3 slices of polish sausage with breakfast potatoes.

Portions are generous and I noted I got 3 eggs and 3 of each meat for about what I pay for 2 eggs and 2 of each meat other places. The bacon was perfectly crispy just the way I like it. The polish sausage slices were great and for me better than the ham slices I get other places. The breakfast sausages were okay but nothing special, next time I may ask for more bacon instead. The home fries are sliced style and very plentiful, but I am trying to keep my carbs down so i didn't finish them all.

Service was very friendly and food came fast and correct. I would definitely return.

I hesitate in writing a review for this gem of a restaurant, because of the potential problem of possibly having more people go there? This is a place that we have taken our kids. The food is first class. Granted that the menu might be slightly limited, but the flavours are other-worldly. The service is first class. Enjoy a simmering coffee while you wait. If you have kinds, be sure to remind them to select a lollipop.

This is one of my favorite go to spots. The food is always perfect and the staff there are amazing. A+ Try it out and you wont be disappointed.

Excellent breakfast/lunch place in Waterloo. Always busy in the mornings and weekends but the staff is friendly and efficient so you have a good chance to get a spot. The menu offers the standard breakfast fare with a few unique combinations and popular recommendations. The coffee tasted good and overall it was good value for money on a cold pre-spring day! Highly recommend next time you’re looking for a classic breakfast joint in the region.

Went there today with my husband had some eggs Benny and lumber jack omg … portions are huge, so so tasty. Great family atmosphere, super friendly staff. We will come back for sure.

Really enjoyed our baby beef liver and hot hamburger plates. Good fresh cut fries. Great coffee. Very pleasant service. Tons of parking. Decent price.

On Sunday at 10: 00, six adults in my group arrived for breakfast. There was a small crowd in the restaurant. The host was excellent. When seating us, he noticed that something on our table wasn’t perfect, so he apologized and fixed it. The waitress was very personable and professional. Throughout our breakfast, everything was excellent. A few of the people in our group raved about the pan fried potatoes. We didn’t have to ask for refills on our coffee. I watched the host as he sat other groups. He impressed me every time. He worked with an obvious passion. I later went to tell him personally at how impressed we were with the food and with the service. The Dearborn is now our favourite breakfast place.

Best breakfast around! Nice family owned restaurant.
Quick service, pricing is great for the amount of food you get.

One of the best spots for breakfast, lunch, or brunch! They’re able to make most basic cocktails or spiked drinks with their bar too!

Excellent food and service. I highly recommend the Dearborn. Bring a big appetite, and on a personal note the booths are big framed people friendly.

Our waiter was very good. And I let him know how pleased I was with him. Great job. A great location for our Thursday breakfast group.

Just had a fantastic breakfast in a group of twenty eight SCRC270 riders! Douglas took care of us all on his own and did an amazing job! Food was excellent and hot and came out together. Service exceptional! We wanted for nothing! We will be back and looking for Douglas!

Great family style restaurant with great foods and reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and welcoming!

We celebrated an event at Dearborn and had 30 people attend in the private room for dinner. Mike and his team served a delicious meal with good variety. Everyone was very happy with the meal, the venue and the chance to use the space to do some socializing. Mike abs his team were very attentive to all of our needs and went out of their way to ensure our get together was a big success. We would highly recommend Dearborn for a meeting or event!

This is the best breakfast place! The food is always amazing, such good prices and quick. Doug always gives phenomenal and quick friendly service as well. I highly recommend this restaurant:)!
