Decew Falls

A beautiful free location to visit during autumn. Easy to find with plenty of free parking. A nice walking path to a lovely view above the falls. We encountered families and dog walkers along the path so it appeared to be very user friendly. The path and area was landscaped and maintained wonderfully.

Amazing short day trip. Limited parking and it has a small trail that you can complete in 20 minutes. Be careful if you try and climb down. Very dangerous.

It's an incredibly beautiful place, especially in Autumn. I went into the Turbine Mill for the first time today and it had incredible views of the top of the falls. I love the history of the place. The trails are easy and the woods are so beautiful I could've stayed longer even after being there 2 hours. It's a great place to find peace and quiet in nature.

Nice, interesting and highly recommended place.
You can explore the interior of the mill with all machinery and infrastructure in perfect condition. Very intertain8ng and informative.
The only drawback is very limited parking lot.

Amazing beautiful hike down since climbing down and up is too dangerous, especially without precautions taken. It's gotten more busy than before. 10 years ago, it was rare to find people, now theres an abundance, so be prepared for a crowd. Free public place, no lifeguards. Ps it's beautiful underneath the falls there's a pathway. There's also more than one.

Old buildings and house to explore and see how life was in the late 1800's. Walking trails are rugged but good. Not for a wheelchair though. Very scenic. Needs more parking spots.

I had an amazing experience at Decew Falls! The natural beauty of the waterfall and surrounding trails is breathtaking. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful hike and some quiet time with nature. The sound of the rushing water is so soothing. I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem. Don't forget to bring your camera to capture the stunning views!

They have very informative tours for the morningstar home and the flour mill every other day. And the view of the falls is still the best around.

It is nice place to spend time with friends and family. Besides the falls there is a trail to cover that is also a good experience to have.

Didn't manage a view from the base of the falls but did see that people got down there somehow. Would be a better view from the top without the foliage.:)

Morning Star Mill which was powered by Decew Falls. They have a volunteer group that have restored this historical place back to its current condition. An amazing place to visit!

You can take a free tour of the Mill and learn how the grain was processed. From inside the Mill you can get an up close view of the falls.

Terry is a wonderful gentlemen who patiently and tirelessly goes through the Mills various processes work everytime a new batch of visitors show up. He is but one of the amazing volunteers there.

Nice little falls tucked away. Lot of history here but what makes it special is the volunteer here. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He took time to explain the relevance of each machinery and area.

This was a beautiful place to come to and spend a couple hours here, it's a little tricky getting down. There is a trail that is about 2km long and I'm not sure if it will bring you down to the falls but when you enter the path there are a few spots with ropes on the side of the stone wall where you can climb down this is much faster but also dangerous so if your with young kids or are a boring stickler stay on the path. Also there are crab fish here so I would definitely bringing your water shoes or just wear your shoes so you don't get pinched like crazy. There are also water snakes swimming about they won't bother you they are trying to catch some fish. Actually while I was here I saw 2 water snakes here one of them with a fish in its mouth. It's a beautiful place to see.

Nice tourist spot for a history lesson and a walk, you can also hike down to the waterfall if you're feeling adventurous

Tough hiking spot if you are trying to get to the bottom of the waterfall. We unfortunately did not make it. You have to climb certain ropes to get down or walk the long route which is 45min or so. I'd recommend it but don't go on a hot and humid day where you'll get tired quickly

Falls are great and one of the best falls in the area but you can't see anything with the fence and trees (unless you climb down the steep cliff)

It's free but it's a shame there isn't a viewing area of the falls and or stairs going down. Funny enough there's a history sign which talks about the old family there building legit stairs.yet the city can't/ won't? Even dug in stairs with rail road ties would be great and cheap to do.

Tucked away in a cozy corner. You can actually walk down to the bottom of the falls. About a 40-50 minute hike one way. Make sure to carry an extra pair of clothes though if you want to take a bath at the bottom. Sports shoes are must for the hike as it can get slippery. Hike is definitely worth it.

This one is a really good place to visit. The historical mill is so weel guided, we felt very welcome and they explained every single detail, they are very polite and patient with kids! They expecting to bring it to work again next year, I'm looking forward to seeing it! It'll be incredible!

The trail is beautiful, but a long and not so easy hike to the waterfalls.

Very picturesque, Terry that worked there was very informative about the history of the place. He was even there on his day off. Nice trails to walk around back.

Great place to just soul search or meditate on while hiking or just sitting and taking in the scenery, of course with alertness.

Great hiking area, with a natural beauty. Parking can be tight, but worth the walk through a great trail, and that waterfall is amazing.

The falls are pretty, the main falls is difficult to climb to if coming from the 2nd falls. If you enter from the main path is easier. Might be challenging to go to the main halls if accompanied by small children. If so go to the second one which has a little river/pond with a robe for the kids to swing into the water.
