Thank you so much for one of the best New Year's Eve ever! You were prepared for all age groups. Congratulations to the chefs for the delicious meals. Congratulations to the management for the extraordinary organisation. Looking forward to come again to your beautiful resort.

I would give a better review if I was able to enjoy either winter or summer activities. Unfortunately, we had no snow. The resort itself was not bad, nice rooms and decent amount of daily activities for families. The pool however, that smell of chlorine hits you long before you reach it. And the sauna was not hot enough, not to mention. 1 sauna for all those guests? Really? Just 1? If you manage to get in with 12+ kids already in there lol. I did enjoy the 3 hiking trails accross the street. I'll update my review at a later date if I return in the future.

Stayed at Lakeside. Hit water was lukewarm in the shower. Took about 5 minutes before I got solid hot water. Happened everyday.
11 September 2023 5:23
We stayed at the Lakeside Lodge, the surrounding was beautiful, and the outdoor pool was great. The downside is the main building is quite far (not very walkable) and that's where most amenities are. They have a shuttle between the areas, but we ended up driving back and forth everyday

This will be the fourth year my husband and I have gone to Deerhurst resort. We got married here in August of 2022 and have basically made it a tradition to return every summer. Awesome place to be.
21 August 2023 11:22
It was my worst experience ever. I did arrive around 12: 45 and I know that the check-in is at 4: 00 pm. The front desk told me your room is almost ready and it's a matter of a few minutes and I will receive a text msg from them.
Then I decided to go to the lake and spent about 2 hours with no message from them. Went back to front desk where the employee changed and told me you should wait till 4. I'm so frustrated with this type of lying from the other employee and me and my family and I spent a horrible time till we received our room.
13 August 2023 6:00
Beautiful! Pet & family friendly resort. The amenities cater to golf enthusiasts, boaters & spa lover's. Lots of indoor & outdoor activities making this place perfect for year round enjoyment.

I stayed in the Pavillion, I noticed that the wood framing for out door balconies needs replacement post due to rotting, Definitely some outdoor house keeping to decob. Once that is completed I would give this a higher rating.
22 July 2023 7:30
We had a room for 3 days and they never send the house keepers to clean the room, when I asked why? They said we never clean the rooms during your stay, but we payed for 3 days, it means we suppose to get clean room every day, like other hotels and resorts.
18 January 2022 18:07
We stayed in building 01 on 4th floor, a lake view room. Our Room was clean and beds were good! Overall great experience, except 1) they forgot to clean the windows from inside. It was smudged and dirty, 2) I tried to make coffee using the coffee maker and it was not drinkable! Disgusting! 3) the screen was broken and instead of fixing it, it was screwed to the window frame! 4) the hiking trails were mostly obstructed with downed lines or trees. We inquired before heading out and the staff had no clue! For the price, I think the guest deserves better. But our overall experience, the natural beauty of Muskoka made up for minor issues.
06 January 2022 7:50
Had an amazing stay at Deerhurst. Despite it being in the off season, staff were helpful, friendly, and were quick to fix any issues we had. I will definitely be back here in the busier seasons.
28 December 2021 18:24
Great place to stay and visit the town.
5min from downtown.
Lots of activities, summer and winter ️.
26 December 2021 19:58
Our meal and the Butternut Squash creme brulee were amazing. We will definitely go back again tonight. Wonderful wintery getaway?
25 December 2021 7:28
This place is barely keeping up with house keeping and services. The hotel floor was old as 20 year old carpet. Elavator smells like rotten beer and drywall dust. Beds ar okay. The wash room is about 40 years old. If you wanted something back in time go here. Staff very friendly.
24 December 2021 3:43
Honestly this was an awful stay! My boyfriend took me out on our first vacation for my birthday and I was so disappointed. Not only was the hotel dirty and gross but the rooms where not worth the price. The tvs don't show anything but french news. The fireplace we paid extra for would not turn on. The "museum" is just a hallway in the resort full of pictures for sale. The gym is pathetic and the pool area had CARPET.it was gross. Absolutely disappointed. The only good thing about that place is the trails and the awesome lady who checked us in. Don't waste your money. I'm sure there's better resorts in the area.
22 December 2021 17:52
Went to play a round of golf and they have 2 courses that are poorly labeled both off the road and in the massive facility. When we finally get there we find out they didn't want to take our cash. It was card only because of covid.seems like a pretty useless health and safety policy when there are hundreds of people roaming your resort.
20 December 2021 16:26
Fabulous! So beautiful with so much to do and excellent dining- highly recommend a visit to Deerhurst Resort
16 December 2021 10:22
One of the worst experiences of my life. I have never stayed anywhere where the front desk never picks up the phone. I have tried to get in touch with somebody since 11 am to get some glasses to our room. It’s now almost 6pm and still nothing. Save your money and go to a motel. You’re probably going to get better service. We should have listened to the reviews online but I hope this review will save other people the hassle. Do not stay here! I am never coming back. The rooms have cracks in the ceiling, the bathroom makes noises I’ve never even heard of. There is no microwave. The coffee machine stinks so bad that you don’t even want to come close to it. The owner keeps answering to the negative reviews with “sorry for the bad experience “, yet they are doing nothing. Not am I never coming back, I will make sure that everybody I know will never ever go through this experience.
16 December 2021 9:01
Was not made to feel welcome at check in. Was not offered shuttle to Elk Steak House.had to ask, and even then reluctant to make available. No water or wine glasses in room. Lunch on patio, asked for shaded table.was told “we are not putting the umbrellas up”. Beautiful sunny warm fall day. In Eclipse Restaurant.ordered drinks, apps and main at same time. Apps (soup) arrived 2.max 3 minutes.before drinks had arrived. $13 soup Luke warm, not offered fresh pepper or crusty bread.rooms so so only.would never return. Also their policy of taking $200 on credit card in check in. ”in case any damage to room. ”. Refunded 3 to 5 business days after departure. Rey unethical means of interest free money fir 5 days. (so many rooms, 2 individual stays per week at $200 deposit each.times number of room, 52 weeks a year.big money. $million free fir 5 days.).
16 December 2021 2:49
Overpriced for a basic and not worth all the hype. Had a lakefront room but no balcony to enjoy the view It may be better if you're there for a longer time to use all the amenities.
Had dinner at Eclipse and after being seated waited 20mins to be served. I had to approach a staff member in order for that to happen. No apology or anything. Food was ok. Had breakfast at the same place, much better service Teresa was amazing! Prompt, attentive & so friendly! Probably wouldn't go there again. Your money may be better spent at a cottage or private rental
13 December 2021 5:19
The location is wonderful but once inside the room - it felt like a Motel 6. A few paper cups were provided for the coffee maker, but not a single one was provided for water. The staff seemed very surprised when we asked for more. The sliding screen door to the balcony was broken. After a day of hiking, we wanted to enjoy a quiet evening in, but the poor tv signal made it unwatchable. As some other reviewers mentioned, it just felt very cheap.
11 December 2021 1:48
The quality of the staff at this resort and the programs they run are top shelf. There is a reason why this resort is 125 years old! I will be back again and recommend Deerhurst Resort to all my friends.
07 December 2021 15:53
Not much to do. Bayshore building was separate from the main building Maple restaurant closes at 4: 00.should be open at least until dinner time.lArcade room was not open. So my kids couldn't play. Main Street was under construction.
03 December 2021 22:30
A very nice resort. We enjoyed our weekend there except for the food. It was not enjoyable at all. Hope the new owners will do something about that. There are lots of nice places to eat in Huntsville though. We enjoyed The Little Place By The Lights. I mentioned the food when we checked out but the person I spoke wasnt interested at all.
01 December 2021 18:52
Great place to stay on the edge of Algonquin Park. Lots of activities and amazing views. Likely will stay again
23 November 2021 15:05
Stayed in the new Lakeside Lodge building which was looked very modern and new. It is 10 min walk away from the pavilion which has all of the activities but at least the beach area is right behind it. Booked the lakeside view which had an amazing view of the water. Only complaints are. Wifi was very spotty and didn't work so hopefully you have a good data plan. The closet door and kitchen cabinet hinges were broken. The kids had a great time with the Halloween events though.
23 November 2021 0:45
We had a truly memorable and relaxing experience at this resort. Incredible views all around, walking trails and free kayaking/canoeing on beautiful Pennisula lake. The location is incredible. It's far enough from the town's 'noise' but only 5-10 minute drive away should you choose to go in for a Tim Horton's run or dine in at a East Side Mario's. The Eclipse restaurant has a a great atmosphere with it's old rustic charm and good breakfast options. We never had a chance to eat dinner there because the reservation list was always full. The room we stayed in was nice but unfortunately it wasn't clean. We spotted a few silverfish insects in the washroom and weren't too happy about that. However, the resort staff did apologize and gave us a bit of discount on the room to make up for it. I hope they're able to be extra diligent with the cleanliness going forward. Overall, very good.
21 November 2021 7:32
Really enjoyed my time with family there. Nice and quiet. Service is impeccable. Kids loved the outdoor pool
19 November 2021 9:54
CANADA GOOSE PARADISE. They are everywhere. They poo all over the golf course and disc golf course. One horrific scene I saw was 30-40 Canada geese floating at the main beach at night. Only great thing of note about the resort was the complimentary canoe/kayak rental. The staff there were very nice.
19 November 2021 2:45
Checking time supposed to be 4pm, after 3 hours drive, we’re at the parking lot around 4: 30 and been told the room is not ready. Waiting at the parking lot as there’s a tornado warning in the area. After more than 2 hours, the checking still not done yet.
15 November 2021 16:45
Anyone looking to go to Deerhurst I would highly recommend it. Book early if waterview is what you are looking for. Lakelodge (on lakeside) or units #20 21 22.the Eclipse Restaurant & Antler steakhouse were superb.in town we tried Chuck's Roadhouse & the Pub on the Dock both were excellent. Axe throwing, pools, hot tubs & trials at Deerhurst was great. Karen went to the spa for a massage & love it.above the staff was friendly & professional.at Deerhurst upon checking in we showed our vaccine passports & received a wrist band.this allowed us to move freely at Deerhurst (masks wore inside). I would easily give Deerhurst a Five star rating based on our stay.special shout out to the staff at the Antler Restaurant.the Surf & Turf was top shelf.
10 November 2021 6:03
Beware of what your getting.
Was completely bummed with our stay.
2 stars for the service and nice people, the actual accommodations was deceiving.

Beware when booking online they do not show all of their rooms. They show the new ones but not their old outdated room.
Paid good money to stay and found our room looking incredibly tired. Wall paper falling off, water stains on the ceiling, stains on furniture, old bandages in the drawers, bugs all over the washroom.
They advertise a golf view, it was a disk golf view, not actually of a golf course.

Disappointing to say the least.
28 October 2021 0:46
We have been coming to Deerhurst for many years now. Lots of activities to do, tennis, basketball, golf, kayak and many more.
The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Huntsville is close by for other restaurants and activities. We also go to the Eclipse restaurant that serves great food.
26 October 2021 1:38
Ok resort, but I expect much more for the price. They are missing simple things. It is very annoying that the WiFi continuously disconnects. Also, to not have room keeping services when it says they are included is disappointing.
Additionally, it looks very run down - the carpets are in rough shape, as are the elevators and bathrooms.
It could be great with some extra upkeep

Reply to owner - Thank you for replying. I now fully understand that due to COVID measures you can't provide daily housekeeping. However, when I booked on your website, it says "Daily housekeeping provided". This should be edited so your guests have proper expectations. Thank you.
24 October 2021 5:29
We just got back from our three-day weekend at Deerhurst. Overall we had a great time and found the resort to be beautiful. However, for the amount of money that we paid, I expected not to see hairs all over my bed when I checked into my room. I also found a half-eaten piece of donut under the bed, so not ideal. It was unfortunate that breakfast is not included in the price of each room, as the only available breakfast on the resort is at their expensive restaurant (it ended up running us $35.00 for two people). So overall, I would go again if there was a really good deal on.
16 October 2021 11:27
Was emailed a lot before arrival which was convenient and helpful. Arrived on a Sunday afternoon my boyfriend and I.
They had us park at a designated spot then text them confirmation before check in. Made check in easy assuming this was to avoid line up as to social distance keeping covid protocols.

Had a spacious Pavillion room with balcony. No microwave which was a little disappointing but was told other rooms had one. I believe all rooms should have a microwave for the money we paid.
Originally booked 2 nights ended up staying an extra night, 2 nights was not enough time yo enjoy everything.

Its a Large resort, lots of hills so may be difficult to someone in a wheelchair or walker. There are lots of amenities and activities to keep you busy.
Close drive to downtown Huntsville, and Algonquin park.
Overall great experience definitely recommend!
15 October 2021 13:03
Nice place to bring your family all year round! Kayak, canoe and paddle boat are included in your rent.they have towel service, spa, indoor and outdoor pool, golf, tennis court and all other things, nice place to relax.
28 September 2021 23:00
We choose Deerhurst as my partner uses a scooter as a mobility aid and it can be difficult to fine truly wheelchair accessible hotels in cottage country that are also scenic. Room was located 11 doors down from the front entry. As we are using a scooter this wasn’t an issue but others who have difficulties with distance may find this too far. View was indicated as courtyard, but it actually looked over a dirt path and a hill.

The room itself was well set up for those with accessibility issues. Grab bars were available around toilet and shower, but former were smooth and didn’t have much grip. Roll in shower was good, and hotel was able to provide shower chair.

Asked front desk about places we could walk/scoot to, such as the lake. We’re provided directions, but realized quickly the grade was far too steep and had to turn around. Also wanted to try accessible hiking trail but after this experience didn’t feel comfortable.

Wifi in our room kept dropping since we checked in the night before. Asked for it to be looked at, and after a few hours being out of our room asked if it had been fixed. Front desk didn’t know and had to call for an update. Found out router was reset remotely. Went back to our room and found it was still difficult (if not impossible) to log in. If you could log in it would drop shortly after. Went back to front desk who blamed it on the weather. Telling them this had started the night before, they offered a password that would work in the front desk area. They indicated nothing else could be done. Asking for compensation on our room rate, offered a 15% discount. Pushed the issue a bit more and got a voucher for dinner.

Found some of the staff a bit grumpy and talked to you as is your were a colleague and not a paying guest. Not the relaxing experience was hoping for.
23 September 2021 1:41
Our family is still waiting to check in-over an hour late and our room is still not ready and and we went to use the washroom in reception with our little one and they were out of toilet paper.
This is not a great start and clearly they do not have enough staff.
18 April 2021 19:35
The Bayshore building is very clean, but it's evident that the building is aging. Some of the things like the crown moulding have separated joints, but overall it's a nice clean place and I was quite happy with it. It was great that there are so many trails to take advantage of for people like me that love the outdoors. I used the cross-country ski and snowshoe trails right on site and also did a little bit of ice skating. At the time of my stay there was no indoor dining (thanks COVID) and ended up getting a bit of a mix of room service and going into town for some takeout. The food from the room service was excellent but a little pricey, but the convenience made up for the higher price though. Overall, I would recommend Deerhurst Resort and really enjoyed my stay. I hope to visit again.
15 April 2021 7:28
Such a relaxing resort with accommodations for every type of preference and budget. Some are older and some are newer. Some large and some small.

Felt very safe with all their COVID precautions.

Check in was a breeze from our car
11 March 2021 9:49
Very nice place to spend a weekend off. Different attraction but poor service room. Coffee maker without cups and stain on the desk. Bath soap expired just look at it if you will be there. And hair on the breakfast table. As first time a little bit disappointed. Food is ok but Christmas dinner was not the best.
16 February 2021 0:27
We've been coming back to this place every year for the past 20yrs. It never seems to disappoint. Friendly staff, ots of outdoor activities. Perfect for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
12 February 2021 7:23
My mom, twin sister and I just spent two lovely nights at Deerhurst
Inn. We were already impressed with the gorgeous buildings, landscape and very tidy nicely laid-out room. When we were greeted by so many friendly faces at the gift shop, Eclipse restaurant and front desk, our happiness level rose even farther. We want to especially thank Stephanie McLellan. (I hope I got that right. I asked for her last name at dinner tonight.). She had the special gift of appearing at the right time and kindly filling us in on the current happenings always with our best interest in mind. She said she loves to see everyone be happy here and wanting to return. She treated us literally and figuratively with a gift and a kind and warm smile. We could tell she truly cares about people. We are more than impressed. We are wowed. Thank you to everyone here who made our stay so fantastic! We are especially full of thanks for everyone staying so positive and peppy for the guests in these challenging times of having to wear a mask and do extra cleaning and so forth. I want to commend the staff here at Deerhurst for all the jobs very very well done! We found Deerhurst because our mom remembered coming here for one of her ladies bridge team getaways. We are from Collingwood. Our mom was so kind to treat my twin and I this weekend for a getaway. We are so happy mom chose such an amazing place. Stay happy and healthy everyone! You all deserve a raise!
01 February 2021 21:42
I have to point out that the reservation team (and manager) took very good care of us on a recent visit. It was a birthday celebration and they helped make it a great experience from start to end.

We have been coming to Deerhurst over the years (love everything about it) and it is good to see the resort not only surviving but thriving during these COVID days.

Keep it up!
31 January 2021 2:50
We were at Deerhurst in December (pre-lockdown) and even with COVID protocols in place, we were still able to have a nice getaway. There were plenty of activities to do and the hikes around the resort were fantastic! The restaurants and room service delivery was wonderful and very flavorful. The pricing was really good as well. Looking forward to our next visit!
28 February 2019 1:53
We had such an amazing time at Deerhurst with my work. Next time we will make it more than one night so that we can enjoy all the amazing activities they have to offer. Can't wait to come back.
28 February 2019 0:02
Great spot to visit in the winter. Lots for kids to do including snow shoe walking and cross country skiing both included. Downhill skiing is 5 minutes drive away at Hidden Valley. Also a games room, rock climbing wall, small indoor playground and decent size indoor pool. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Couple of average restaurants in the the hotel but many more in Huntsville which is no more than a 10 minute drive.
16 February 2019 23:04
Loved Deerhurst
Co-operative and helping staff
Amazing activities were included with the booking (pool, fitness room, hot tub, movie theatre, ski, ice skating etc.)
We had booked 2 bedroom condo for 2 nights
Condo had Full kitchen with Utensils
Condo also had washing machine

I’m giving 1 star less because our condo didn’t had lock on doors (bedroom, washroom didn’t had locks), we did call technician but he was the only one who was handling 40 rooms so he didn’t had time to fix our locks.
Room no. 29-102
04 February 2019 10:40
I was here last weekend at my company Xmas party. The toilet in my room didnt work (no water in the tank). No one showed up after receiving my call. No water bottles in the fridge.
29 January 2019 19:11
Tons of fun activities to do here. We managed to go snow shoeing and hiking to the lookout point in the morning, then went for the ski trail at Arrowhead Provincial Park after a nice lunch break at the Compass Bar & Grill on site. Great place to visit and spend a weekend. Definitely need more than a one night stay to get the full experience!
27 January 2019 22:37
They first checked us into one of their different buildings which was super inconvenient but we went back and they gave us a room in their main building. Restaurant didn't have the greatest selection. Pillows should have a variety of both hard and soft. It was hard to fall asleep and woke up with a sore neck.
26 January 2019 8:31
Beautiful condo- a week ago we booked 2 bed room condo with 2 washrooms it had all the facilities from kitchen to washroom to living room to bedroom and nice view from balcony. We were 3 couples we decided to choose 2 bed rooms condo as with 3 bed room condo it's just 2 bathrooms only which doesn't make much sense.

Good points: kitchen has all the amenities and utensils so we don’t have to bring ours but it’s not mentioned on website or anywhere in description

Negative points: in living room does not have smart tv so it doesn’t have any apps such as Netflix and YouTube so we brought our HDMI cable and laptops (workaround)

- Doors weren’t able to lock we called a guy but due to lack of staff they said they won’t be able to fix it

About activities: they have all the activities mentioned on website such as below:
- skiing
- skating
- Pool
- Movies
- Rock climbing
- gym
- ranting movies facilities
and all are impressive

However, lighting and decoration was missing outside of premises it's a great property construction everywhere which doesn't make you feel safe
But one thing bothers me is about skating is a group has to go 15-20 mins away from the main location

Having said that our overall experience was really good with hot tub and pool services
23 January 2019 16:04
Horrible experience from check in. Had to wait in line 1 hour to check in. Water leaking in bathroom.that wasn't fixes for three days.they dropped off a bag of towels and told us to deal with it. Unresponsive and rude front desk. Average food.list goes on. Never coming back. Also.staff in kids room were texting instead of watching the kids.little bit reciculous to say the least.
16 January 2019 15:21
We stayed in the one bedroom Summit Suite - beautiful suite with everything we needed for our family of five for the week. Staff were friendly and helpful, the outdoor activities were easy to access and fun. The indoor pool was clean and warm and there were lots of indoor activities for the kids when they wanted a break from the winter weather.
16 January 2019 2:02
My partner fractured her knee and deerhurst was accommodating. The room was made on time but they also gave us a discount on the room. The amenities were nice and I found that my friends and I could comfortable stay at the lodge One thing to point out is the shuttle to Hidden Valley. There's only one driver (or at least during the night) and I think it would be better to at least have 2 so the driver isn't stretched and that wait times would lessen. But other than that, my stay was enjoyable.
13 January 2019 2:15
Great amenities. The condos have aged well and still feel homey. I didn't sleep well in the beds and the pillows weren't very nice either. They felt very cheap. Also the resort is pretty close to Huntsville where there are plenty of shops and restaurants to check out.
12 January 2019 1:47
Nice abit pricey no breakfast for the money you pay per night. Reasonable pub prices. Beds very comfy and nice sleep. Concert at hotel you dont have to leave, booked in june and just had to change from king to double so they charged me n
More, and they take out first payment. The resort fee is 30.00 really that should be included.
11 January 2019 4:05
Stayed in main building so convient to move and check fun activities for kids
Room was good, had a complaint which was never addressed but may be due to rush and busy time of the year
05 January 2019 19:58
Love this place winter or summer time. So much so I always recommend it for weekend getaways and group retreats. There is so much to enjoy, golf in the summer, skating trail in the winter. The wife and I love the summit lodge suites and the condos and we're with friends. Book your stay here, you wont be disappointed. For group bookings call and ask for Steve Sadonoja great guy and really helpful and attentive.
03 January 2019 0:52
My friends and I visited this place in starting of winter. It has really positive ambiance in addition to that slow live music made it very eye catching. We kinda lost to find our condo but it is really nice condo with 1 master bed room and 2 queen size bed with hall and kitchen. They have provided all the utensils, owen, dish washer, washer and gryer and smart tv. The view from the room was awesome. We dont have much time to indulge in all activities but the activities which we have done were snow sketing, ice skiing, hot tub relax, swimming pool and gym. All the equipments related to this activities were of no charge if you are guest of deerhurst but on the other hand I dont find locks in any of the doors in my condo except the main entrance but overall it is really a beautiful place to visit with friends and family.
02 January 2019 19:32
So my fiance and I stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding. We booked well in advance and were given a room in a building detached from the main building. The main building being where the wedding and reception were talking place. I wish we were given this information on the phone when we called to reserve. Because of this, it made it difficult to walk up to the ceremony/reception in dress shoes/high heels without bringing a change of footwear as the sidewalk leading to the building had quite the hill on it and still had some snow and debris. As for the room. Upon entering the room there is no place to hang jackets, no closet, no hooks, nothing. This is super inconvenient. For a place that boasts outdoor activities, where are folks supposed to hang snow gear!? Upon entering the bedroom we found what appeared to be gravel/debris on the carpet, not a great job cleaning. We also discovered the bedroom door didn't close all the way so we had light entering from the living room in the mornings. Also of note was the strange location for the outlet above the kitchen counter. The only one is above the cook top, so if we decided to make coffee, toast, and cook, it would become quite the ordeal. The cords on the appliances are so short they need to sit on top of the stove once plugged in? I would seriously question staying here again. There were some good things too, however they got overshadowed by the bad. Some simple communication over the phone on the initial booking would have helped prevent some of this and better prepared us for the stay.

We stayed at the Deerhurst Resort for only one night, and it was a shame. Once we arrived I realized that I didn’t want to leave.

It’s a beautifully situated resort, assessable and very cozy.

We drove up from Toronto which meant that we were stuck in the 400 for about 3 hours but definitely worth it.

We stayed at one of the apartments by the main lobby. It was quiet and private.

Breakfast the next morning was quite good.
