Beach is huge flat shale rocks that go out quite far before they drop off. Great for wading or setting your chair in the water. It is slippery so water shoes are needed. Once you are past the shale ledge the water is deep and clear and great for swimming. If it is hot you'll need sun umbrellas as there is not much shade. Great spot to set up your chairs on the flat rock and enjoy an afternoon by the water. They have port-a-potties and dogs are allowed.

Very cool place to see fossils, beach view is nice too, parking is convenient.
